Abstract
A new dihydroxy monomer, 1-(2-hydroxypyridin-3-yl)-3-(2-(2-hydroxypyridin-3-yl)-1,3-dioxo-isoindoline-5-carbonyl)thiourea, with preformed trimellitic anhydride chloride-derived imide ring, pyridine and C=S moieties was synthesized. This compound was exploited to prepare three heteroaromatic poly(thiourea-imide-ester)s (PTIEs) by polycondensation with various diacid chlorides. Structural analysis of polymers was carried out by Fourier transformation infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. PTIEs were readily soluble in polar solvents such as N, N-dimethylacetamide, dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and N-methylpyrrolidone. Inherent viscosity and gel permeation chromatography measurements revealed high molar mass (140 × 102 to 101 × 102). One of the polymers showed crystalline behavior according to x-ray diffraction. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry were adopted for the thermal analysis of the polymers. Novel aromatic PTIEs possess high weight loss temperature ( T10) in the range 524–536°C and glass transition temperature of about 223–230°C.

Abstract
This study reports a green approach toward the synthesis of novel optically active poly(amide-imide)s (PAI)s bearing thiazole moiety, which was formed by the polycondensation reaction of 3,5-diamino- N-(thiazol-2-yl)benzamide and various diacids containing natural amino acids in molten tetrabutylammonium bromide. Diamine monomer was synthesized by the reduction of 3,5-dinitro- N-(thiazol-2-yl)benzamide in methanol using iron oxide hydroxide as a catalyst. This catalyst can rapidly reduce the sulfur and azo-containing aromatic nitro compounds to the corresponding amines in high yield by employing hydrazine hydrate as a hydrogen donor. Chiral diacid monomers were synthesized in high yield through the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride and amino acids (l-isoluecine, S-valine, S-methionine, and l-phenylalanine) in acetic acid. The direct polymerization reactions of these monomers provided a series of new optically active PAIs with inherent viscosities in the range of 0.20–0.28 dL g−1. The obtained polymers were characterized by Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy, specific rotation measurements, and the representative of them by proton nuclear magnetic resonance and elemental analysis techniques.

Abstract
New phosphorus-containing poly(ester imide)s were prepared via polycondensation in solution of 1,4-bis[N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)phthalimidyl-5-carboxylate]-2-(6-oxido-6H-dibenz <c,e ><1,2 >oxaphosphorin-6-yl)-naphthalene with different aromatic dicarboxylic acids using a SOCl2/pyridine condensing agent. The polymers showed high thermal stability having a decomposition temperature above 375 °C and char yield at 700 °C in the range of 54—56%. The glass transition temperature was in the range of 190—226 °C. Solutions of the polymers in N,N-dimethylformamide showed fluorescence having maximum emission wavelength in the range 405—425 nm. The polymers exhibited thermotropic liquid crystalline behavior.

Abstract
Aromatic polyesters and poly(ester-imide)s based on bisphenol-A derivatives were prepared by solution polycondensation at high temperature of three diols with an aromatic diacide chloride containing two preformed ester groups, namely terephthaloyl-bis-(4-oxybenzoylchloride) or two diacide chlorides containing preformed imide rings, namely 4-chloroformyl- N ( p-chloroformylphenyl)-phthalimide and 2,2-bis[ N-(4-chloroformylphenyl)phthalimidyl] hexafluoropropane. The polymers were easily soluble in polar organic solvents, such as N-methylpyrrolidone, N , N -dimethylformamide, N , N -dimethylacetamide and chloroform. They showed high thermal stability, the decomposition temperature being above 320 °C and the glass transition temperature in the range 92—196 ° C. Some of the polymers exhibited thermotropic liquid crystalline behavior.

Abstract
A new phosphorus-containing monomer, bis( N-hydroxyethyl-phthalimidyl)-bis(9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-oxide-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-yl)methane, that contains preformed imide rings and flexible linking groups was synthesized. This compound was used to synthesize new phosphorus-containing polyesterimides by solution polycondensation with various aromatic diacide chlorides such as terephthaloyl chloride, terephthaloyl-bis-(4-oxybenzoylchloride), 4-chloroformyl- N( p-chloroformylphenyl)-phthalimide and 2,2-bis(4-chloroformyl- N-phthalimidyl)-diphenylmethane. The rates of the polycondensation reactions were calculated from kinetic investigations. The polymers were readily soluble in polar organic solvents, such as N-methylpyrrolidone, N, N-dimethylacetamide and N, N-dimethylformamide. The polymers were analytically, spectrally and thermally characterized.
