Abstract
Mn(II) and Cu(II) complexes having the formula [M(L)2 ]X2 of ligand, i. e., 2-acetyl-5-methylfuranthiosemicarbazone were synthesized. Various analytical and spectroscopic techniques described the structure of synthesized complexes. Molar conductance confirmed the electrolytic nature of the complexes. The theoretical study of the complexes explained the structural property and reactivity. The chemical reactivity, interaction and stability of the ligand and metal complexes were studied with the help of global reactivity descriptors. MEP analysis was used to investigate the charge transfer in the ligand. The biological potency was evaluated against two bacteria and two fungi. Complexes demonstrated superior inhibitory action to ligand. The inhibitory effect was also checked at the atomic scale using molecular docking, which confirmed the experimental results. Cu(II) complex was shown to have the most inhibitory effect in experimental and theoretical studies. To check the bioavailability and drug-likeness, ADME analysis was also done.

Abstract
Pd-Pd/PdO nanoclusters well dispersed on intercalated graphene oxide (GO) (denoted as GO@PPD-Pd) were prepared and characterized. GO@PPD-Pd exhibited high catalytic activity (a TOF value of 60 705 h-1) during the Suzuki coupling reaction, and it could be reused at least 6 times. The real active centre was Pd(200)-Pd(200)/PdO(110, 102). A change in the Pd facets on the surface of PdO was a key factor leading to deactivation, and the aggregation and loss of active centres was also another important reason. The catalytic mechanism involved heterogeneous catalysis, showing that the catalytic processes occurred at the interface, including substrate adsorption, intermediate formation, and product desorption. The real active centres showed enhanced negative charge due to the transfer of electrons from the carrier and ligands, which could effectively promote the oxidative addition reaction, and Pd(200) and the heteroconjugated Pd/PdO interface generated in situ also participated in the coupling process, synergistically boosting activity. Developed GO@PPD-Pd was a viable heterogeneous catalyst that may have practical applications owing to its easy synthesis and stability, and this synergistic approach can be utilized to develop other transition-metal catalysts.

Abstract
A series of oligomeric (salen)Mn(III) complexes featuring tartrate linkers were prepared and immobilized over layered double hydroxide, and then used as catalysts for asymmetric epoxidation of unfunctionalized olefins. Comprehensive characterizations including 1H NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, GPC, and ICP-AES were used to illustrate structures of oligomeric (salen)Mn(III) complexes, while powdered XRD, nitrogen physisorption, together with XPS studies provided further details to detect structures of heterogeneous catalysts. Interestingly, scanning electron microscopy found an interesting morphology change during modification of layered supporting material. Catalytic experiments indicated that configuration of major epoxide products was determined by salen chirality more than that of tartrate linker, but enantioselectivity (e.e. values) could be enhanced when tartrate and salen showed identical chiral configurations. Furthermore, the (R,R)-salen moieties linked with (R,R)-tartrate spacers usually offered higher enantioselectivity compared to other combinations. Lastly, Zn(II)/Al(III) layered double hydroxide played as a rigid supporting material in catalysis, showing positive chiral induction and high recycling potential in catalytic reactions.

Abstract
Catalysis of cross-coupling reactions under phosphane-free conditions represents an important ongoing challenge. Although transition metal complexes based on the thiosemicarbazone unit have been known for a very long time, their use in homogeneous catalysis has been studied only relatively recently. In particular, reports of cross-coupling catalytic reactions with such complexes have appeared only in the last 15 years. This review provides a survey of the research in this area and a discussion of the prospects for future developments.

Abstract
Immobilized Pd nanoparticles on a new ligand, namely, tris(pentaethylene-pentamine)triazine supported on graphene oxide (Pdnp-TPEPTA(L)-GO) was introduced as a novel and robust heterogeneous catalyst for use in C-C bond formation reaction. The Pdnp-TPEPTA(L)-GO catalyst was synthesized by complexation of Pd with TPEPTA as a ligand with high N-ligation sites that were supported on graphene oxide through 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane. The prepared catalyst was characterized using some microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. The TPEPTA(L)-GO substrate is a 2D heterogeneous catalyst with a high specific surface area and a large amount of N-ligation sites. The Pdnp-TPEPTA(L)-GO catalyst used in the C-C bond formation reaction between aryl or heteroaryl and phenylboronic acid derivatives was applied towards the synthesis of biaryl units in high isolated yields. Notably, a series of competing experiments were performed to establish the selectivity trends of the presented method. Also, this catalyst system was reusable at least six times without a significant decrease in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
We have developed an efficient three-component tandem reaction for the synthesis of 3-(1,3-diarylallylidene)oxindoles combining three palladium-catalyzed reactions: the Sonogashira, Heck, and Suzuki-Miyaura reactions. This method allows a stereoselective approach to each (E)- and (Z)-isomer by ligand change and controlling the reaction temperature.

Abstract
2-(Methylthio)aniline (L1), a bidentate (S,N) ligand synthesized by the reaction of o-aminothiophenol with methyl iodide, on reacting with Na2PdCl4 in acetone and water gives a complex [PdL1Cl2] (1). Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies have revealed that the geometry of palladium in 1 is nearly square-planar and the ligand L1 is bound to the palladium through S and N in a bidentate coordination mode forming a five membered chelate ring. This complex functions as a thermally and air stable catalyst of high efficiency for Suzuki-Miyaura CC coupling reactions in water. It catalyzes CC coupling between various aryl bromides and phenylboronic acid under mild reaction conditions in water. TON value up to 93,000 has been obtained.

Efficient catalysis of Suzuki-Miyaura C-C coupling reactions with palladium(II) complexes of partially hydrolyzed bisimine ligands: a process important in environment context. Abstract
Potentially hexadentante [O(-),N,E:E,N,O(-)] chalcogenated bisimine ligands L1-L3 have been synthesized by reaction of 1,1'-(4,6-dihydroxy-1,3-phenylene)bisethanone with H2N(CH2)2SPh, H2N(CH2)2SePh and H2N(CH2)2TeC6H4-4-OMe respectively. The L1-L3 react with Na2PdCl4 resulting in their partial hydrolysis, which appears to be metal-promoted. Of the two [(CH3)CN(CH2)2EAr] fragments of L1-L3, one is converted to (CH3)CO and H2N(CH2)2EAr eliminated. The hydrolysis products 1-[C(CH3)N(CH2)2SPh]-3-[C(CH3)O]-4,6-[OH]2C6H2 (L1'), 1-[C(CH3)N(CH2)2SePh]-3-[C(CH3)O]-4,6-[OH]2C6H2 (L2') and 1-[C(CH3)N(CH2)2TeC6H4-4-OMe]-3-[C(CH3)O]-4,6-[OH]2C6H2 (L3') have formed complexes [PdCl(L'-H)] (1, 3 and 5). The other product of hydrolysis H2N(CH2)2EAr (L″) reacted with Na2PdCl4 yielding the complexes [PdL"Cl2] (2, 4 and 6). All the complexes (1-6) were found thermally and air stable. Complexes 1, 3 and 5 have been investigated as catalysts for Suzuki-Miyaura CC coupling reactions. The catalytic activities of 1 and 3 which are palladium complexes of S- and Se-containing Schiff base derivatives respectively, were found good for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid under mild reaction conditions. The Pd(II) complex (3) of selenated ligand was found active to catalyze the coupling of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde and 3-chlorotoluene. The activity of Te analog was found to be the lowest one as it failed in catalyzing the coupling of electronically deactivated aryl bromides.

Abstract
The reaction of dichlorido(cod)palladium(II) (cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) with 2-(benzylsulfanyl)aniline followed by heating in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) produces the linear trinuclear Pd3 complex bis(μ2-1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiolato)bis[μ2-2-(benzylsulfanyl)anilinido]dichloridotripalladium(II) N,N-dimethylformamide disolvate, [Pd3(C7H4NS2)2(C13H12NS)2Cl2]·2C3H7NO. The molecule has -1 symmetry and a Pd...Pd separation of 3.2012 (4) Å. The outer Pd(II) atoms have a square-planar geometry formed by an N,S-chelating 2-(benzylsulfanyl)anilinide ligand, a chloride ligand and the thiolate S atom of a bridging 1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiolate ligand, while the central Pd(II) core shows an all N-coordinated square-planar geometry. The geometry is perfectly planar within the PdN4 core and the N-Pd-N bond angles differ significantly [84.72 (15)° for the N atoms of ligands coordinated to the same outer Pd atom and 95.28 (15)° for the N atoms of ligands coordinated to different outer Pd atoms]. This trinuclear Pd3 complex is the first example of one in which 1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiolate ligands are only N-coordinated to one Pd centre. The 1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiolate ligands were formed in situ from 2-(benzylsulfanyl)aniline.

Six new octahedral ruthenium(II) carbonyl complexes having the general molecular formula [RuCl(CO)(B)L(1-2)] (B = PPh3, AsPh3 or py; L(1-2) = quinoline based NNO ligand) were synthesized. The quinoline based ligands behave as monoanionic tridentate donor and coordinated to ruthenium via ketoenolate oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and quinoline nitrogen. The composition of the complexes has been established by elemental analysis and spectral methods (FT-IR, electronic, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, (31)P NMR and ESI-Mass). The complexes were used as efficient catalysts for one-pot conversion of various aldehydes to their corresponding primary amides in presence of NH2OH · HCl and NaHCO3. The effect of catalyst loading and reaction temperature on catalytic activity of the ruthenium(II) carbonyl complexes were also investigated. The synthesized complexes also possess good catalytic activity for the o-allylation of phenols in the presence of K2CO3 under mild conditions. The complexes afforded branched allyl aryl ethers according to a regioselective reaction.

Abstract
Thirty two new Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes (1–32) with salicylidene thiosemicarbazones (H2L1–H2L10) were synthesized. Salicylidene thiosemicarbazones, of general formula (X)N-NH-C(S)-NH(Y), were prepared through the condensation reaction of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and its derivatives (X) with thiosemicarbazide or 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide (Y = H, C6H5). The characterization of the new formed compounds was done by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, magnetochemical, thermoanalytical and molar conductance measurements. In addition, the structure of the complex 5 has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. All ligands and metal complexes were tested as inhibitors of human leukemia (HL-60) cells growth and antibacterial and antifungal activities.
