Abstract
BACKGROUND To identify childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) at risk of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and impaired fertility is important given its impact on quality of life. The aim of this study was to assess ovarian markers and fertility outcomes in adult female CCSs. We used the Swedish and the PanCareLIFE classifications for infertility risk grouping. METHODS 167 CCSs, at median age 34.6 years (19.3-57.8) with a median follow-up time of 25.4 years (11.6-41.3), and 164 healthy matched controls were included in this cross-sectional study. We assessed anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels, antral follicle count (AFC), ovarian volume (OV), and fertility outcomes. Based on gonadotoxic treatments given, CCSs were categorized into infertility risk groups. RESULTS The median levels of AMH, AFC and OV were lower in CCSs (1.9 vs. 2.1 ng/ml, 12.0 vs. 13.0, 6.8 vs. 8.0 cm3) compared with controls, although statistically significant only for OV (p = 0.021). AMH levels in CCSs <40 years were lower for those classified as high-risk (p = 0.034) and very high-risk (p<0.001) for infertility, based on the Swedish risk classification. Similarly, AFC was reduced in the high-risk (p<0.001) and the very high-risk groups (p = 0.003). CCSs of all ages showed a trend towards impaired fertility, especially in the very high-risk group. POI was diagnosed in 22/167 CCSs, of whom 14 were in the high- and very high-risk groups. The results according to the PanCareLIFE classification were similar. CONCLUSION Both the Swedish and the PanCareLIFE infertility risk classifications are reliable tools for identifying those at risk of reduced ovarian markers and fertility, as well as POI. We recommend fertility preservation counselling for patients receiving highly gonadotoxic treatments (i.e., Cyclophosphamide Equivalent Dose ≥6 g/m2, radiotherapy exposure to ovaries or stem cell transplantation) with follow-up at a young reproductive age due to the risk of a shortened reproductive window.

Abstract
Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is one of many potential long-term consequences of childhood cancer treatment in females. Causes of POI in this patient population can include chemotherapy, especially alkylating agents, and radiation therapy. Rarely, ovarian tumors lead to ovarian dysfunction. POI can manifest as delayed pubertal development, irregular menses or amenorrhea, and infertility. This diagnosis often negatively impacts emotional health due to the implications of impaired ovarian function after already enduring treatment for a primary malignancy. The emerging adult may be challenged by the impact on energy level, quality of life, and fertility potential. POI can also lead to low bone density and compromised skeletal strength. This review discusses the health consequences of POI in childhood cancer survivors (CCS). We also explore the role of fertility preservation for CCS, including ovarian tissue cryopreservation and other available options. Lastly, knowledge gaps are identified that will drive a future research agenda.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the skeletal phenotype of adolescent girls with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). METHODS Data are presented from two adolescent girls who participated in a clinical research protocol to evaluate axial bone mineral density (BMD) (via dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, DXA) and appendicular bone density, microarchitecture, and strength (via high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography, HRpQCT). Anthropometric data were also obtained, and pubertal staging was performed by a clinician. RESULTS Both cases presented with an undetectable estradiol concentration and an elevated follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), meeting the criteria for POI. Each also received alkylating agents as part of their chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but in different locations as one presented with stage IV neuroblastoma and the other, metastatic medulloblastoma. Both had a low BMD of the axial and appendicular skeleton, as well as microarchitectural changes of the latter. The low BMD Z-score (<-2.0) seen when interpreting their DXA measurements for chronological age improved when adjusted for short stature, but it was not normalized. Lastly, most variables obtained by HRpQCT were abnormal for each participant, indicating that appendicular bone structure and strength were compromised. CONCLUSIONS Chemotherapy and radiation affect growth, puberty, and bone accrual deleteriously. However, as these cases show, POI in an adolescent is not always classic primary ovarian insufficiency. Adolescents with brain cancer can present with signs of estrogen deficiency but may not be able to secrete FSH to the extent of elevation typically seen in long-term cancer survivors. Estrogen deficiency is almost universally present in either clinical setting and prompt recognition facilitates early provision of hormone replacement therapy that may then allow for a resumption of bone accrual as an adolescent approaches her peak bone mass.

Abstract
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), an indirect indicator of the number of remaining follicles, is clinically used as a test for ovarian reserve. Typically, a decline suggests a decrease in the number of remaining follicles in relation to ovarian toxicity caused by interventions, which may implicate fertility. In contrast, serum AMH levels are elevated in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. AMH is produced primarily in the granulosa cells of the preantral and small antral follicles. Thus it varies in association with folliculogenesis and the establishment and shrinking of the follicle cohort. Ovarian activity during the female half-life, from the embryonic period to menopause, is based on folliculogenesis and maintenance of the follicle cohort, which is influenced by developmental processes, life events, and interventions. AMH trends over a woman's lifetime are associated with in vivo follicular cohort transitions that cannot be observed directly.

Abstract
Stunning advances in treatment modalities implemented in children with hematological malignancies have led to 5-year overall survival rates exceeding 85%. However, this growing population of long-term survivors has raised significant concerns about their fertility status throughout adulthood, while specific treatment- and non-treatment-related factors appear to possibly affect fertility through distinct mechanisms. We aimed to comprehensively review the published literature on the association between treatment-related factors and risk of impaired fertility in childhood hematological cancer survivors. We searched PubMed up to March 2021 to identify eligible studies published during the last two decades. A narrative synthesis of the results was performed, although no meta-analysis was feasible due to the small number of studies and the large heterogeneity of evidence. Five studies on 2020 survivors of childhood leukemia were deemed eligible. The qualitative data synthesis showed significant fertility deficits in survivors treated with cranial radiotherapy and chemotherapy for childhood leukemia. Two studies examined biochemical measures of reduced ovarian reserve, providing some evidence that the levels of anti-Müllerian hormone can be used as a proxy for diminished ovarian reserve. The current findings should facilitate the delivery of age- and gender-appropriate interventions to optimize reproductive outcomes in childhood hematological cancer survivors.

Abstract
In an in vitro fertilization program, approximately 10-15% of oocytes obtained after controlled ovarian stimulation are immature, with germinal vesicles (GVs). These oocytes are usually discarded in clinical practice; however, an in vitro maturation (IVM) procedure can be applied to mature them. There are scarce data in the literature on the effect of IVM on the expression of important development- and zona pellucida (ZP)-related genes in human oocytes; therefore, we wanted to determine this. One hundred nine human oocytes were collected from patients enrolled in an intracytoplasmic sperm injection program. The expression of the BMP4, GDF9, ZP1, ZP2, ZP3, and ZP4 genes was analyzed using RT-qPCR in oocytes matured in vitro with different reproductive hormones in the IVM medium (AMH, FSH + hCG, FSH + hCG + AMH), in in vivo matured oocytes and in immature oocytes with GVs. No statistically significant differences in the expression of selected genes in oocytes were observed among groups with different reproductive hormones in IVM medium. However, several interesting significant correlations were found between BMP4 and GDF9, and ZP1 and ZP4; between GDF9 and ZP1, and ZP2 and ZP4; and between ZP1 and ZP3 and ZP4 in the in vitro matured oocytes, while no such correlations were present in other groups of oocytes. The type of reproductive hormone in the maturation medium does not affect the expression of the analyzed genes in oocytes during the maturation process. However, the in vitro maturation procedure itself generated correlations among analyzed genes that were otherwise not present in in vivo matured and immature oocytes.

Abstract
PURPOSE Due to an increase in survival, a growing population of childhood cancer survivors (CCS) is present. However, female CCS are at risk of developing premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) after cancer treatment. POI involves a decreased chance of conceiving and the increased infertility state has a large impact on affected individuals' health and mental life. The objective of this study was to investigate health state and well-being among female CCS with and without POI and healthy controls (HC). METHODS Female CCS treated in southern Sweden between 1964 and 2008 were included. Each patient was matched with a HC. The final study population included 167 female CCS and 164 HC that were examined between October 2010 and January 2015 at the Reproductive Medicine Centre at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, Sweden. All participants, except for two HCs, answered an EQ-5D-3L questionnaire for measuring health state including a visual analogue scale (VAS) for estimating well-being. RESULTS There were 22 CCS with POI, none of the HC had POI. The mean health state differed among groups (unadjusted: P = 0.002; adjusted: P = 0.007). A difference in mean experienced well-being among groups was noted (unadjusted: P = 0.003; adjusted: P = 0.012). Lowest well-being was found in the CCS group with POI (P = 0.024). CONCLUSIONS Female CCS have a significantly decreased health state and well-being. Female CCS with POI additionally have the lowest self-estimated well-being. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Female CCS with POI should be identified early in order to give them adequate information and support.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Female patients undergoing anticancer treatment are at elevated risk of adverse ovarian outcomes including infertility and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), which is associated with short- and long-term health risks. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a key biomarker of ovarian reserve, but its role prior to and after cancer treatment is less well understood. OBJECTIVE AND RATIONALE To conduct a systematic review evaluating AMH as a biomarker of ovarian reserve and POI before and after anticancer treatment, which has become a pressing clinical issue in reproductive medicine. There are a large number of observational studies, but differences in patient groups, cancer diagnoses and study design make this a confusing field that will benefit from a thorough and robust review. SEARCH METHODS A systematic literature search for AMH in women with cancer was conducted in PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials up to 1 April 2021. Bias review was conducted using the Risk of Bias In Non-randomized Studies of Interventions (ROBINS-I) protocol along with qualitative assessment of quality. Exploratory subgroups were established based on age, cancer type and length of follow-up. OUTCOMES Ninety-two publications (N = 9183 patients) were included in this analysis after quality and bias review. Reduced/undetectable AMH was consistently identified in 69/75 studies (92%) following chemotherapy or radiotherapy, with reductions ranging from 42% to concentrations below the limit of detection, and many reporting mean or median declines of ≥90%. Where longitudinal data were analysed (42 studies), a majority (33/42 (79%)) of studies reported at least partial recovery of AMH at follow-up, however, effect estimates were highly variable, reflecting that AMH levels were strongly impacted by anticancer treatment (i.e. the chemotherapy regimen used and the number of treatment cycles need), with recovery and its degree determined by treatment regimen, age and pre-treatment AMH level. In 16/31 (52%) publications, oligo/amenorrhoea was associated with lower post-treatment AMH consistent with impending POI, although menstruation and/or pregnancy were reported in patients with low or undetectable AMH. Long-term (>5 years) follow-up of paediatric patients following cancer treatment also found significantly lower AMH compared with control groups in 14/20 (70%) of studies, with very variable effect sizes from complete loss of AMH to full recovery depending on treatment exposure, as in adult patients. WIDER IMPLICATIONS AMH can be used to identify the damaging effect of cancer treatments on ovarian function. This can be applied to individual women, including pre-pubertal and adolescent girls, as well as comparing different treatment regimens, ages and pre-treatment AMH levels in populations of women. While there was evidence for its value in the diagnosis of POI after cancer treatment, further studies across a range of diagnoses/treatment regimens and patient ages are required to clarify this, and to quantify its predictive value. A major limitation for the use of AMH clinically is the very limited data relating post-treatment AMH levels to fertility, duration of reproductive lifespan or time to POI; analysis of these clinically relevant outcomes will be important in further research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is a laboratory method that allows the maturation of immature (GV) oocytes retrieved from patients enrolled in the in vitro fertilization (IVF) programme. However, this method is still sparsely researched and used in clinical practice, leading to suboptimal clinical results. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is an important hormone with known effects on human ovaries, especially on follicles (follicular cells) during folliculogenesis. In contrast, the effect of AMH on the human oocyte itself is unknown. Therefore, we wanted to determine whether human oocytes express AMH receptor 2 (AMHR2) for this hormone. Recombinant AMH was added to the IVM medium to determine whether it affected oocyte maturation. METHODS In total, 247 human oocytes (171 immature and 76 mature) were collected from patients enrolled in the intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) programme who were aged 20 to 43 years and underwent a short antagonist protocol of ovarian stimulation. The expression of AMHR2 protein and AMHR2 gene was analysed in immature and mature oocytes. Additionally, maturation of GV oocytes was performed in vitro in different maturation media with or without added AMH to evaluate the effect of AMH on the oocyte maturation rate. RESULTS Immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy revealed that AMHR2 protein is expressed in both immature and mature human oocytes. AMHR2 was expressed in a spotted pattern throughout the whole oocyte. The IVM procedure revealed that AMH in maturation medium improved GV oocyte maturation in vitro, as all oocytes were successfully matured in maturation medium containing recombinant AMH only. Furthermore, antagonism between AMH and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) during the maturation process was observed, with fewer oocytes maturing when both AMH and FSH were added to the maturation medium. Finally, AMHR2 gene expression was found in immature and in vitro matured oocytes but absent in mature oocytes. CONCLUSIONS The positive AMHR2 protein and AMHR2 gene expression in human oocytes shows that AMH could directly act on human oocytes. This was further functionally confirmed by the IVM procedure. These findings suggest the potential clinical application of recombinant AMH to improve IVM of human oocytes in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Female childhood cancer survivors (CCS) might have impaired ovarian reserves, especially after alkylating agents or radiotherapy. The purpose of this systematic review and network meta-analysis is to evaluate the role of serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) for ovarian reserve screening and the risk of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) according to the subtype of childhood cancer. (2) Methods: PRISMA-NMA guidelines were followed. We carried out a network meta-analysis based on a random effects model for mixed multiple treatment comparisons to rank childhood cancers effects on fertility by surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA). Studies were selected only if they had an age-matched control group. Quality assessment was performed using Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. The co-primary outcomes were mean AMH levels and the incidence of POI. (3) Results: A total of 8 studies (1303 participants) were included. Women treated for a neuroblastoma during infancy were more likely to be ranked first for impaired AMH levels (SUCRA = 65.4%), followed by mixed CCS (SUCRA = 29.6%). The greatest rates of POI were found in neuroblastoma survivors (SUCRA = 42.5%), followed by acute lymphoid leukemia (SUCRA = 26.3%) or any other neoplasia (SUCR A = 20.5%). (4) Conclusions: AMH represents a trustworthy approach for ovarian reserve screening. Direct and indirect comparisons found no differences in mean AMH levels and POI risk between subtypes of CCS and healthy controls. SUCRA analysis showed that female neuroblastoma survivors were more at risk for reduced serum AMH levels and increased risk of POI.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Childhood cancer is rare; the incidence in Sweden is approximately 16 new cases/100 000 children each year. Reduced reproductive function and fertility are well-known side effects of cancer treatment. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) has been shown to correlate well with antral follicle count in healthy women but is currently not recommended as the primary surveillance modality for evaluation of premature ovarian insufficiency in this patient group. Psychological wellbeing related to fertility could affect quality of life and should be included in long-term follow-up. The aim of the study is to present the baseline data from inclusion for a prospective follow-up study of fertility surveillance where both medical and psychological aspects of fertility in female childhood cancer survivors are considered. MATERIAL AND METHODS These are the first results from this longitudinal follow-up cohort study. Female adolescent and young adult survivors of pediatric cancer in Western Sweden were included from January 2016 to December 2018, a total of 54 participants. Median age at inclusion was 21 (15-29) years and median age at cancer diagnosis was 10 (1-17) years. AMH levels, antral follicle count, and data on fertility were recorded at inclusion and will be prospectively followed up. The study includes questionnaires and interviews concerning quality of life. This study is planned to continue until the participants reach the age of 40 years. RESULTS Eighteen of 54 (33%) participants had AMH levels below 1.0 µg/L and were considered to have high or very high risk of infertility. Median AMH level was 2.50 µg/L. Six women had immediate need of oocyte cryopreservation. Psychological assessment showed that more than one-third of participants (n = 20) had elevated anxiety scores. CONCLUSIONS One-third of female survivors of pediatric cancer in the study had high risk of low ovarian reserve, measured by a combination of AMH and antral follicle count, and many had signs of anxiety. The longitudinal study could contribute to better knowledge in the changes of AMH over time for this patient group. Psychological follow-up with questionnaires and interviews evaluating signs of depression and anxiety may serve as a model for future screening programs.

Abstract
Background The increased secretion of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) by the growing follicles has been supposed as a determinative feature of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The diagnostic performance of AMH in PCOS is superior compared to the free androgen index (FAI) and luteinizing hormone (LH)/follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) quotient. We established age-dependent reference ranges to further improve the diagnostic performance of AMH. Methods In a cross-sectional study, in samples of 4712 reproductive age patients, ranging from 14 to 50 years, BMI, AMH and other reproductive hormones were determined by immunoassay or tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to calculate age-specific reference ranges and the diagnostic performance. Results Age-specific diagnostic performances for Elecsys® AMH, FAI and LH/FSH ratio were established in the reference group. No significant difference in BMI was found between the groups. AMH values were significantly negatively correlated with age (r = -0.628, p < 0.001) in patients with normal ovarian function, but there was no correlation between age and AMH levels in PCOS patients (r = - 0.041, p < 0.174). In all the study groups, AMH showed a weak correlation between FAI and LH/FSH ratio (r = 0.302, p < 0.001 and r = 0.434, p < 0.001, respectively). The sensitivity/specificity for AMH, FAI and LH/FSH ratio were 89/96%, 71/69% and 75/72%, respectively, according to the Youden index. Conclusions We determined the age-dependent reference ranges for serum AMH levels in a large population-based study and calculated the age-specific diagnostic performance of FAI and LH/FSH ratio, which allows physicians to evaluate patients with PCOS who have normal AMH levels. AMH is suggested as the strongest diagnostic marker in patients with PCOS compared to FAI and LH/FSH ratio.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Childhood and adolescent cancer survivors (CACSs) are at risk of adverse reproductive outcomes. Assessment of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels is the most common test used to diagnose premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) whereas anti-m|llerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC) have been proposed as ovarian reserve markers. We assessed the correlation between these markers and treatment gonadotoxicity risk (GR) in CACSs. METHODS A total of 55 female CACSs were enrolled. GR was graded as low, medium, or high according to classifications based on disease and treatments and on cyclophosphamide equivalent dose score. FSH, AMH, and AFC were determined. POI was defined by amenorrhea and FSH>30 IU/L. For remaining patients, diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) was defined by AMH<5th centile. FSH and AFC cut-offs proposed in the literature as DOR markers were also considered (FSH>10 IU/L or >95th centile; AFC<8 or <5th centile). RESULTS Ovarian reserve results to be compromised in 23 (41.8%) patients: 14 with DOR and 9 with an established POI. Results showed GR classifications to be a good predictor of ovarian reserve, with significantly lower AMH and AFC in the high-risk groups. AFC resulted to be directly correlated with AMH (r=0.75, p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS In CACSs, GR classifications correlate with post-treatment AMH and AFC. These are useful tools in the early identification of young patients with DOR, who may benefit from reproductive and fertility preservation counseling. Further studies are needed to determine the rate and time of progression from DOR to POI in this population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The reference range and potential value of inhibin B are still unclear and controversial. This study aimed to define the variation trend of inhibin B in healthy women with age and explore its value in the reflection of ovarian reserve. METHODS A total of 2524 healthy reproductive age women from eight medical institutes nationwide were recruited. The variation tendency of inhibin B with age was primarily established in the first group of 948 women and validated in another 605. We evaluated the relationship between inhibin B and classic ovarian reserve and function markers. The potency of inhibin B in predicting AFC <5-7 was also estimated and compared with FSH. RESULTS The nomogram showed that serum levels of inhibin B rapidly decreased after the age of 40. Inhibin B was positively correlated with AMH (R = 0.57, P < 0.001), AFC (R = 0.34, P < 0.001) and testosterone (R = 0.10, P = 0.002), and negatively correlated with FSH (R = -0.41, P < 0.001) and LH (R = -0.20, P < 0.001) and FSH/LH (R=-0.18, P < 0.001), while no correlation was found with PRL. Unexpectedly, Inhibin B (AUC = 0.74, P < 0.001 for the establishment population; AUC = 0.78, P < 0.001 for the validation population) had a slightly higher value than FSH (AUC = 0.71, P < 0.001 for the establishment population; AUC = 0.72, P < 0.001 for the validation population) in diagnosing AFC <5-7. CONCLUSIONS For healthy reproductive age women, the decline of inhibin B can reflect decreased ovarian reserve effectively, having a good consistency with AMH and AFC. More importantly, inhibin B had an advantage in predicting AFC <5-7 compared with FSH, which suggested the potential of inhibin B in predicting ovarian response. These results will be helpful to the clinical application of inhibin B in the evaluation of female ovarian reserve and the assessment of their reproductive capacity. Abstract
Zhedong white goose (Anser cygnoides domesticus) is a native Chinese breed with strong broodiness and low egg production, which is related to the physiology of reproduction. However, thus far, the physiology of goose reproduction has not been well elucidated. In the present study, the ovarian morphology and reproductive hormones of Zhedong white geese were investigated during the reproductive cycle (the laying and brooding periods). The results showed that the surface of the ovary was atrophied and follicular atresia appeared to some extent in the brooding period compared with the laying period. The concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone, progesterone and luteinizing hormone were significantly higher than those in the brooding period (p < 0.05). In contrast, the concentrations of prolactin (PRL) and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in the laying period were significantly lower than those in the brooding period (p < 0.05). In addition, the mRNA expression levels of PRL, AMH, dopamine-β-hydroxylase (DβH) and cytochrome P450 side-chain cleavage enzyme (P450scc) were detected in the hypothalamus, pituitary and ovaries by using real-time polymerase chain reaction. The results showed that AMH mRNA was expressed specifically in ovary tissue. The expression levels of DβH and PRL in the brooding period was significantly higher than those in the laying period in the three tissues, especially in the early and middle stages of the brooding period. Moreover, AMH mRNA expression in the ovaries presented the same trend. In addition, P450scc mRNA was highly expressed in both the ovary and pituitary in the laying period. These results revealed the remarkable features of ovarian morphology and characterized the hormonal pattern and expression profile during the reproductive cycle, all of which contribute to understanding the differences in reproductive physiology between the laying and brooding periods in Zhedong white geese.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previously, we reported a model for assessing ovarian reserves using 4 predictors: anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level, antral follicle count (AFC), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) level, and female age. This model is referred as the AAFA (anti-Müllerian hormone level-antral follicle count-follicle-stimulating hormone level-age) model. OBJECTIVE This study aims to explore the possibility of establishing a model for predicting ovarian reserves using only 3 factors: AMH level, FSH level, and age. The proposed model is referred to as the AFA (anti-Müllerian hormone level-follicle-stimulating hormone level-age) model. METHODS Oocytes from ovarian cycles stimulated by gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist were collected retrospectively at our reproductive center. Poor ovarian response (<5 oocytes retrieved) was defined as an outcome variable. The AFA model was built using a multivariable logistic regression analysis on data from 2017; data from 2018 were used to validate the performance of AFA model. Measurements of the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predicative value were used to evaluate the performance of the model. To rank the ovarian reserves of the whole population, we ranked the subgroups according to the predicted probability of poor ovarian response and further divided the 60 subgroups into 4 clusters, A-D, according to cut-off values consistent with the AAFA model. RESULTS The AUCs of the AFA and AAFA models were similar for the same validation set, with values of 0.853 (95% CI 0.841-0.865) and 0.850 (95% CI 0.838-0.862), respectively. We further ranked the ovarian reserves according to their predicted probability of poor ovarian response, which was calculated using our AFA model. The actual incidences of poor ovarian response in groups from A-D in the AFA model were 0.037 (95% CI 0.029-0.046), 0.128 (95% CI 0.099-0.165), 0.294 (95% CI 0.250-0.341), and 0.624 (95% CI 0.577-0.669), respectively. The order of ovarian reserve from adequate to poor followed the order from A to D. The clinical pregnancy rate, live-birth rate, and specific differences in groups A-D were similar when predicted using the AFA and AAFA models. CONCLUSIONS This AFA model for assessing the true ovarian reserve was more convenient, cost-effective, and objective than our original AAFA model.

Abstract
The aim of this International Menopause Society White Paper on premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is to provide the latest information regarding this distressing condition. The impact of POI has far-reaching consequences due to its impact on general, psychological, and sexual quality of life, fertility prospects, and long-term bone, cardiovascular, and cognitive health. Progress in fully understanding the etiology, diagnosis, and optimal management options has been slow thus far due to the complexity of the condition and fragmented research. Recent advances in epidemiological and genetic research have improved our understanding of this condition and randomized prospective trials are being planned to determine the intervention strategies, which will optimize quality of life and long-term well-being. The International Menopause Society has commissioned a number of experts at the forefront of their specialty to define the state of the art in the understanding of this condition, to advise on practical management strategies, and to propose future research strategies. It is hoped that a global task force will subsequently be convened in order to formulate a consensus statement across key societies, to accelerate date collection and analysis of a global POI registry, and to facilitate progress in the key defined areas of research.

Abstract
PURPOSE In this review, the current knowledge on anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is presented, concerning its value in disease and IVF treatment as well as in terms of its prospective clinical use. METHODS AMH is becoming the most appropriate biomarker for the ovarian reserve measured predominantly for assisted reproductive treatment (ART) patients in comparison to the currently used antral follicle count (AFC). However, this is not the only way AMH measurements can be used in the clinics. Because of this, we reviewed the current literature for the use of AMH in current or prospective clinical practice. RESULTS We found that AMH has a high predictive value in assessing the ovarian reserve, which can lead to a better efficiency of in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures. It has a high potential to be developed as a staple diagnostic marker of ovarian disease, especially for ovarian cancers and even as a possible treatment tool for certain cancers. It could potentially be used to prevent oocyte loss due to chemo- or radiotherapy. CONCLUSION AMH is an important hormone especially in women reproductive organs and is currently seen as the best biomarker for a multitude of uses in reproductive medicine. Currently, the biggest issue lies in the lack of international standardization of AMH. However, it is encouraging to see that there is interest in AMH in the form of research on its action and use in reproductive medicine.
