Chaotic systems based on higher-order oscillatory equations

This paper discusses the design process toward new lumped chaotic systems that originates in higher-order ordinary differential equations commonly used as description of ideal oscillators. In investigated third-order case, two chaotic oscillators were constructed. These systems are dual in the sense of vector field geometry local to fixed points. The existence of robust chaos was proved by both standard routines of numerical analysis and practical measurement. For the fourth-order oscillatory equation, the concept based on interaction between superinductor and supercapacitor was examined in detail. Since both "superelements" are active, the nonlinearity essential to the evolution of chaos is fully passive. It is demonstrated that complex motion is robust and does not represent long transient behavior or numerical artefact. The existence of chaos was verified using standard quantifiers of the flow, such as the largest Lyapunov exponents, recurrence plots, approximate entropy and sensitivity calculation. A good final agreement between theoretical assumptions and practical results will be concluded, on a visual comparison basis.

The Intricacies of Sprott-B System with Fractional-Order Derivatives: Dynamical Analysis, Synchronization, and Circuit Implementation

Studying simple chaotic systems with fractional-order derivatives improves modeling accuracy, increases complexity, and enhances control capabilities and robustness against noise. This paper investigates the dynamics of the simple Sprott-B chaotic system using fractional-order derivatives. This study involves a comprehensive dynamical analysis conducted through bifurcation diagrams, revealing the presence of coexisting attractors. Additionally, the synchronization behavior of the system is examined for various derivative orders. Finally, the integer-order and fractional-order electronic circuits are implemented to validate the theoretical findings. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the Sprott-B system and its fractional-order dynamics, with potential applications in diverse fields such as chaos-based secure communications and nonlinear control systems.

Chaotic Oscillations in Cascoded and Darlington-Type Amplifier Having Generalized Transistors

This paper describes, based on both numerical and experimental bases, the evolution of chaotic and, in some cases, hyperchaotic attractors within mathematical models of two two-port analog functional blocks commonly used inside radio-frequency systems. The first investigated electronic circuit is known as the cascoded class C amplifier and the second network represents a resonant amplifier with Darlington’s active part. For the analysis of each mentioned block, fundamental configurations that contain coupled generalized bipolar transistors are considered; without driving force or interactions with other lumped circuits. The existence of the structurally stable strange attractors is proved via the high-resolution composition plots of the Lyapunov exponents, numerical sensitivity analysis and captured oscilloscope screenshots.

Chaotic and Hyperchaotic Self-Oscillations of Lambda Diode Composed by Generalized Bipolar Transistors

This paper is focused on the investigation of self-oscillation regimes associated with very simple structure of lambda diode. This building block is constructed by using coupled generalized bipolar transistors. In the stage of mathematical modeling, each transistor is considered as two-port described by full admittance matrix with scalar polynomial forward trans-conductance and linear backward trans-conductance. Thorough numerical analysis including routines of dynamical flow quantification indicate the existence of self-excited dense strange attractors. Plots showing first two Lyapunov exponents as functions of adjustable parameters, signal entropy calculated from generated time sequence, sensitivity analysis, and other results are provided in this paper. By the construction of a flow-equivalent chaotic oscillator, robustness and long-time geometrical stability of the generated chaotic attractors is documented by the experimental measurement, namely by showing captured oscilloscope screenshots.

Evidence of Strange Attractors in Class C Amplifier with Single Bipolar Transistor: Polynomial and Piecewise-Linear Case

This paper presents and briefly discusses recent observations of dynamics associated with isolated generalized bipolar transistor cells. A mathematical model of this simple system is considered on the highest level of abstraction such that it comprises many different network topologies. The key property of the analyzed structure is its bias point since the transistor is modeled via two-port admittance parameters. A necessary but not sufficient condition for the evolution of autonomous complex behavior is the nonlinear bilateral nature of the transistor with arbitrary reason that causes this effect. It is proved both by numerical analysis and experimental measurement that chaotic motion is miscellaneous, robust, and it is neither numerical artifact nor long transient motion.

Generalized Single Stage Class C Amplifier: Analysis from the Viewpoint of Chaotic Behavior

This paper briefly describes a recent discovery that occurred during the study of the simplest mathematical model of a class C amplifier with a bipolar transistor. It is proved both numerically and experimentally that chaos can be observed in this simple network structure under three conditions: (1) the transistor is considered non-unilateral, (2) bias point provides cubic polynomial feedforward and feedback transconductance, and (3) the LC tank has very high resonant frequency. Moreover, chaos is generated by an autonomous class C amplifier; i.e., an isolated system without a driving force is analyzed. By the connection of a harmonic input signal, much more complex behavior can be observed. Additionally, due to the high degree of generalization of the amplifier cell, similar fundamental circuits can be ordinarily found as subparts of typical building blocks of a radio frequency signal path.

A Nonlinear Five-Term System: Symmetry, Chaos, and Prediction

Chaotic systems have attracted considerable attention and been applied in various applications. Investigating simple systems and counterexamples with chaotic behaviors is still an important topic. The purpose of this work was to study a simple symmetrical system including only five nonlinear terms. We discovered the system’s rich behavior such as chaos through phase portraits, bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents, and entropy. Interestingly, multi-stability was observed when changing system’s initial conditions. Chaos of such a system was predicted by applying a machine learning approach based on a neural network.
