Abstract
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is the most common infection worldwide. The correlation between HCV and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is still mysterious. Therefore, the relationship between HCV and RCC was investigated. The study included 100 patients with RCC; 32 with HCV infection, and 68 without HCV infection. Expressions of viral proteins (NS3 and NS5A) were tested using an immune electron-microscope (IEM) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC and quantitative real time-PCR investigated the presentation of human proteins TP53 and p21 genes. Transmission electron (TEM) detected viral-like particles in infected RCC tissues. The gene and protein expression of P53 was higher in HCV positive versus HCV negative patients and p21 was lower in HCV positive versus HCV negative in both tumor and normal tissue samples. Viral like particles were observed by TEM in the infected tumor and normal portion of the RCC tissues and the plasma samples. The IEM showed the depositions of NS3 and NS5A in infected renal tissues, while in noninfected samples, were not observed. The study hypothesizes that a correlation between HCV and RCC could exist through successfully detecting HCV-like particles, HCV proteins, and (p53 and p21) in RCC-infected patients.

Abstract
The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) associated with extrahepatic primary malignancy (EHPM) is extremely rare, especially for those that involve primary renal cell carcinoma (PRC). Here we present a case of a 66-year-old male who was diagnosed with HCC complicated with lymph node metastasis at posterior pancreas head and PRC. Biopsy results of the liver and the lymph node confirmed the diagnosis of HCC. The disease progressions of both HCC and PRC are controlled effectively following the initiation of comprehensive therapy including pembrolizumab, lenvatinib, radiotherapy, and transcatheter arterial chemo-embolization (TACE). Ultimately, the patient had successfully access to surgery and complete response (CR) of all the tumors were achieved after surgery.

Abstract
Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common histological type of kidney cancer and has high heterogeneity. Stratification of ccRCC is important since distinct subtypes differ in prognosis and treatment. Here, we applied a systems biology approach to stratify ccRCC into three molecular subtypes with different mRNA expression patterns and prognosis of patients. Further, we developed a set of biomarkers that could robustly classify the patients into each of the three subtypes and predict the prognosis of patients. Then, we reconstructed subtype-specific metabolic models and performed essential gene analysis to identify the potential drug targets. We identified four drug targets, including SOAT1, CRLS1, and ACACB, essential in all the three subtypes and GPD2, exclusively essential to subtype 1. Finally, we repositioned mitotane, an FDA-approved SOAT1 inhibitor, to treat ccRCC and showed that it decreased tumor cell viability and inhibited tumor cell growth based on in vitro experiments.
