Abstract
Traditional risk assessments of chiral pesticides mainly depend on racemic form, which is often incomprehensive. This study conducted systemic investigations on the bioactivity, toxicity, and ecotoxicological effects of hexythiazox (HTZ) at the enantiomer level. The elution order and absolute configuration of HTZ enantiomers were determined. (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ exhibited 708 and 1719 times higher bioactivity against Tetranychus cinnabarinus and Tetranychus urticae eggs than (4S, 5S)-(-)-HTZ, respectively. Molecular docking indicated greater interactions between (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ and chitin synthase leading to higher bioactivity of (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ. However, (4S, 5S)-(-)-HTZ induced greater changes in protein and malondialdehyde content, and antioxidant and detoxification enzyme activities than (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ in earthworms. Furthermore, integrated biomarker response results indicated (4S, 5S)-(-)-HTZ exhibited higher toxic effects on earthworms than (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ. Finally, significant differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were observed in earthworms after exposure to (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ and (4S, 5S)-(-)-HTZ, respectively. These DEGs were mainly enriched in glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and purine metabolism pathways in earthworms. Additionally, six metabolism pathways were also enriched, including pyruvate metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, oxidative phosphorylation, citric acid cycle, fatty acid degradation, and ATP-binding cassette transporters. These findings suggest that earthworms exhibited enantiomer-specific responses to (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ and (4S, 5S)-(-)-HTZ. This study provides systemic insight into the toxicity mechanism of HTZ at the enantiomer level and the potential to develop (4R, 5R)-(+)-HTZ as a high-efficiency and low-risk pesticide.

Abstract
Environmental temperature and cellular mechanical force are the inherent factors that participate in various biological processes and regulate cancer progress, which have been hot topics worldwide. They occupy a dominant part in the cancer tissues through different approaches. However, extensive investigation regarding pathological mechanisms in the carcinogenic field. After research, we found cold stress via two means to manipulate tumors: neuroscience and mechanically sensitive ion channels (MICHs) such as TRP families to regulate the physiological and pathological activities. Excessive cold stimulation mediated neuroscience acting on every cancer stage through the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenocorticoid (HPA) to reach the target organs. Comparatively speaking, mechanical force via Piezo of MICHs controls cancer development. The progression of cancer depends on the internal activation of proto-oncogenes and the external tumorigenic factors; the above two means eventually lead to genetic disorders at the molecular level. This review summarizes the interaction of bidirectional communication between them and the tumor. It covers the main processes from cytoplasm to nucleus related to metastasis cascade and tumor immune escape.

Abstract
Manipulation of selectivity in the catalytic electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (eCO2RR) poses significant challenges due to inevitable structure reconstruction. One approach is to develop effective strategies for controlling reaction pathways to gain a deeper understanding of mechanisms in robust CO2RR systems. In this work, by precise introduction of 1,10-phenanthroline as a bidentate ligand modulator, the electronic property of the copper site was effectively regulated, thereby directing selectivity switch. By modification of [Cu3(btec)(OH)2]n, the use of [Cu2(btec)(phen)2]n·(H2O)n achieved the selectivity switch from ethylene (faradaic efficiency (FE) = 41%, FEC2+ = 67%) to methane (FECH4 = 69%). Various in situ spectroscopic characterizations revealed that [Cu2(btec)(phen)2]n·(H2O)n promoted the hydrogenation of *CO intermediates, leading to methane generation instead of dimerization to form C2+ products. Acting as a delocalized π-conjugation scaffold, 1,10-phenanthroline in [Cu2(btec)(phen)2]n·(H2O)n helps stabilize Cuδ+. This work presents a novel approach to regulate the coordination environment of active sites with the aim of selectively modulating the CO2RR.

Abstract
Electrocatalytic carbonylation of CO and CH3OH to dimethyl carbonate (DMC) on metallic palladium (Pd) electrode offers a promising strategy for C1 valorization at the anode. However, its broader application is limited by the high working potential and the low DMC selectivity accompanied with severe methanol self-oxidation. Herein, our theoretical analysis of the intermediate adsorption interactions on both Pd0 and Pd4+ surfaces revealed that inevitable reconstruction of Pd surface under strongly oxidative potential diminishes its CO adsorption capacity, thus damaging the DMC formation. Further theoretical modeling indicates that doping Pd with Cu not only stabilizes low-valence Pd in oxidative environments but also lowers the overall energy barrier for DMC formation. Guided by this insight, we developed a facile two-step thermal shock method to prepare PdCu alloy electrocatalysts for DMC. Remarkably, the predicted Pd3Cu demonstrated the highest DMC selectivity among existing Pd-based electrocatalysts, reaching a peaked DMC selectivity of 93% at 1.0 V versus Ag/AgCl electrode. (Quasi) in-situ spectra investigations further confirmed the predicted dual role of Cu dopant in promoting Pd-catalyzed DMC formation.

Abstract
Pollution from toxic spores has caused us a lot of problems because spores are extremely resistant and can survive most disinfectants. Therefore, the detection of spore response to disinfectant is of great significance for the development of effective decontamination strategies. In this work, we investigated the effect of 0.5% sodium hypochlorite on the molecular and morphological properties of single spores of Bacillus subtilis using single-cell techniques. Laser tweezers Raman spectroscopy showed that sodium hypochlorite resulted in Ca2+-dipicolinic acid release and nucleic acid denaturation. Atomic force microscopy showed that the surface of treated spores changed from rough to smooth, protein shells were degraded at 10 min, and the permeability barrier was destroyed at 15 min. The spore volume decreased gradually over time. Live-cell imaging showed that the germination and growth rates decreased with increasing treatment time. These results provide new insight into the response of spores to sodium hypochlorite.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Primary cardiac angiosarcoma(PCA) has a low incidence rate and poor prognosis. Currently, no unified clinical treatment standards are available. CASE PRESENTATION We report the case of a 48-year-old man presenting chest tightness, breathlessness, and dyspnea. Imaging and postoperative histopathologic studies confirmed PCA and that the tumor had invaded the entire right atrium. The patient developed progressive disease (PD) during postoperative radiotherapy. We used immunotherapy combined with targeted therapy based on the results of molecular profile and evaluation of tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) and programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). After treatment, the metastatic lymph nodes of the patient were reduced to a certain extent, indicating that combination therapy was effective. CONCLUSION To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of radiotherapy combined with anti-PD-1 and tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKI) for PCA. In addition, this is the first report on immunotherapy for PCA based on new evaluation methods, including TLSs, PD-L1, and genomic profile.

Abstract
Dendritic cells (DCs) play a pivotal role in controlling HIV-1 infections of CD4+ T cells. DC-SIGN, which is expressed on the surface of DCs, efficiently captures HIV-1 virions by binding to the highly mannosylated membrane protein, gp120, and then the DCs transport the virus to target T cells in lymphoid organs. This study explored the modification of T20, a peptide inhibitor of HIV-1 fusion, by conjugation of the N-terminus with varying sizes of oligomannose, which are DC-SIGN-specific carbohydrates, aiming to create dual-targeting HIV inhibitors. Mechanistic studies indicated the dual-target binding of the conjugates. Antiviral assays demonstrated that N-terminal mannosylation of T20 resulted in increased inhibition of the viral infection of TZM-b1 cells (EC50 = 0.3-0.8 vs. 1.4 nM). Pentamannosylated T20 (M5-T20) exhibited a stronger inhibitory effect on virus entry into DC-SIGN+ 293T cells compared with T20 (67% vs. 50% inhibition at 500 μM). M5-T20 displayed an extended half-life in rats relative to T20 (T1/2: 8.56 vs. 1.64 h, respectively). These conjugates represent a potential new treatment for HIV infections with improved antiviral activity and pharmacokinetics, and this strategy may prove useful in developing dual-target inhibitors for other pathogens that require DC-SIGN involvement for infection.

Abstract
Five new compounds (1, 2, 7, 12, and 16), along with fifteen known ones, were isolated from Ajuga lupulina Maxim. Their structures were revealed by analysing spectroscopic data (MS, NMR), and experimental and calculated ECD spectra was used to deduce the absolute configuration. Compound 16, with eight carbon atoms, was firstly isolated from the nature. All the isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory effect on RSL3-induced ferroptosis in HT22 mouse hippocampal neuronal cells. Among them, the abietane-type diterpenoids (7-11) significantly inhibited ferroptosis with EC50 values of 0.83 μM, 2.05 μM, 0.96 μM, 1.47 μM, and 1.19 μM, respectively.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Studies have shown a close association between trouble sleeping and obesity in older adults. However, no studies have explored the underlying mechanism of this relationship. The present study was designed to evaluate the roles of depressive symptoms and cognitive function in the association between trouble sleeping and obesity in older American adults. METHODS A cross-sectional study with 2575 participants (≥60 years old) in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011-2014 was used for analysis. Obesity, depressive symptoms, and cognitive function (including Established Consortium for Word Learning in Alzheimer's Disease (CERAD-WL) (immediate learning and recall and delayed recall), Animal Fluency Test (AFT), and Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST)) were objectively measured, and trouble sleeping was assessed using a self-reported questionnaire. The moderated mediation analysis was conducted by Hayes' PROCESS macro. RESULTS Trouble sleeping was positively associated with obesity among older adults. Depressive symptoms partially and indirectly mediated this association, and DSST moderated the association between trouble sleeping and depressive symptoms. Trouble sleeping had a lower impact on depressive symptoms in older adults with higher cognitive function. LIMITATIONS The cross-sectional design prevents making causal inferences, and part of self-reported information was not objective enough. CONCLUSION Cognitive function moderated the mediation of depressive symptoms on the indirect, positive association between trouble sleeping and obesity; hence, incorporating methods to strengthen cognitive function and alleviate depressive symptoms may help weak the link between trouble sleeping and obesity among older adults.

Abstract
Epigenetic modifications, including DNA methylation and histone post-translational modifications, intricately regulate gene expression patterns by influencing DNA accessibility and chromatin structure in higher organisms. These modifications are heritable, are independent of primary DNA sequences, undergo dynamic changes during development and differentiation, and are frequently disrupted in human diseases. The reversibility of epigenetic modifications makes them promising targets for therapeutic intervention and drugs targeting epigenetic regulators (e.g., tazemetostat, targeting the H3K27 methyltransferase EZH2) have been applied in clinical therapy for multiple cancers. The NSD family of H3K36 methyltransferase enzymes-including NSD1 (KMT3B), NSD2 (MMSET/WHSC1), and NSD3 (WHSC1L1)-are now receiving drug development attention, with the exciting advent of an NSD2 inhibitor (KTX-1001) advancing to Phase I clinical trials for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. NSD proteins recognize and catalyze methylation of histone lysine marks, thereby regulating chromatin integrity and gene expression. Multiple studies have implicated NSD proteins in human disease, noting impacts from translocations, aberrant expression, and various dysfunctional somatic mutations. Here, we review the biological functions of NSD proteins, epigenetic cooperation related to NSD proteins, and the accumulating evidence linking these proteins to developmental disorders and tumorigenesis, while additionally considering prospects for the development of innovative epigenetic therapies.

Abstract
The group F-bZIP transcription factors (TFs) in Arabidopsis are involved in nutrient deficiency or salt stress responses. Nevertheless, our learning about the functions of group F-bZIP genes in maize remains limited. Here, we cloned a new F-bZIP gene (ZmbZIP76) from maize inbred line He344. The expression of ZmbZIP76 in maize was dramatically induced by high salt, osmotic stress and abscisic acid. Accordingly, overexpression of ZmbZIP76 increased tolerance of transgenic plants to salt and osmotic stress. In addition, ZmbZIP76 functions as a nuclear transcription factor and upregulates the expression of a range of abiotic stress-responsive genes by binding to the ACGT-containing elements, leading to enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging capability, increased abscisic acid level, proline content, and ratio of K+/Na+, reduced water loss rate, and membrane damage. These physiological changes caused by ZmbZIP76 ultimately enhanced tolerance of transgenic plants to salt and osmotic stress.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are a kind of undifferentiated dental mesenchymal stem cells with strong self-renewal ability and multi-differentiation potential. This study aimed to investigate the regulatory functions of succinylation modification in DPSCs. METHODS DPSCs were isolated from the dental pulp collected from healthy subjects, and then stem cell surface markers were identified using flow cytometry. The osteogenic differentiation ability of DPSCs was verified by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and alizarin red staining methods, while adipogenic differentiation was detected by oil red O staining. Meanwhile, the mRNA of two desuccinylases (SIRT5 and SIRT7) and three succinylases (KAT2A, KAT3B, and CPT1A) in DPSCs before and after mineralization induction were detected using quantitative real-time PCR. The cell cycle was measured by flow cytometry, and the expression of bone-specific genes, including COL1a1 and Runx2 were evaluated by western blotting and were combined for the proliferation and differentiation of DPSCs. Co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) and immunofluorescence were combined to verify the binding relationship between proteins. RESULTS The specific markers of mesenchymal stem cells were highly expressed in DPSCs, while the osteogenic differentiation ability of isolated DPSCs was confirmed via ALP and alizarin red staining. Similarly, the oil red O staining also verified the adipogenic differentiation ability of DPSCs. The levels of KAT2A were found to be significantly upregulated in mineralization induction, which significantly decreased the ratio of G0/G1 phase and increased S phase cells; converse results regarding cell cycle distribution were obtained when KAT2A was inhibited. Moreover, overexpression of KAT2A promoted the differentiation of DPSCs, while its inhibition exerted the opposite effect. The elevated KAT2A was found to activate the Notch1 signaling pathway, which succinylated Notch1 at the K2177 site to increase their corresponding protein levels in DPSCs. The co-IP results showed that KAT2A and Notch1 were endogenously bound to each other, while inhibition of Notch1 reversed the effects of KAT2A overexpression on the DPSCs proliferation and differentiation. CONCLUSION KAT2A interacted directly with Notch1, succinylating the Notch1 at the K2177 site to increase their corresponding protein levels in DPSCs. Similarly, KAT2A-mediated succinylation modification of Notch1 promotes the DPSCs proliferation and differentiation, suggesting that targeting KAT2A and Notch1 may contribute to tooth regeneration.

Abstract
Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) are anticipated to improve the efficacy of rehabilitation for people with motor disabilities. However, applying BCI in clinical practice is still a challenge due to the great diversity of patients. In the current study, a novel action observation (AO) based BCI was proposed and tested on stroke patients. Ten non-hemineglect patients and ten hemineglect patients were recruited. Four AO stimuli were designed, each presenting a decomposed action to complete the reach-and-grasp task. EEG data and eye movement data were collected. Eye movement data was utilized to analyze the reasons for individual differences in BCI performance. Task discriminative component analysis was utilized to perform online target detection. The results showed that the designed AO-based BCI could simultaneously induce steady state motion visual evoked potential (SSMVEP) from the occipital region and sensory motor rhythm from the sensorimotor region in stroke patients. The average online detection accuracy among the four AO stimuli reached 67% within 3 s in the non-hemineglect group, while the accuracy only reached 35% in the hemineglect group. Gaze metrics showed that the average total duration of fixations during the stimulus phase in the hemineglect group was only 1.31 s ± 0.532 s which was significantly lower than that in the non-hemineglect group. The results indicated that hemineglect patients have difficulty gazing at the AO stimulus, resulting in poor detection performance and weak desynchronization in the sensorimotor region. Furthermore, the degree of neglect is inversely proportional to the target detection accuracy in hemineglect stroke patients. In addition, the gaze metrics associated with cognitive load were significantly correlated with the accuracy in non-hemineglect patients. It indicated the cognitive load may affect the AO-based BCI. The current study will expedite the clinical application of AO-based BCI.

Abstract
AIMS To describe the clinical features, imaging characteristics, histopathology, treatment and outcomes of intraocular medulloepithelioma. METHODS Medical records of 11 patients with clinically or histopathologically confirmed medulloepithelioma were retrieved and reviewed. Clinical features, diagnostic challenges, imaging characteristics, management, histopathology and prognosis were assessed. RESULTS The median age of the patients at initial diagnosis was 4 years, with the most common manifestations being leukocoria (five eyes), loss of vision (four eyes), ocular pain (one eye) and ophthalmic screening (one eye). The clinical signs include a grey-white ciliary body lesion, cataract or lens subluxation, secondary glaucoma and evident cysts. The ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) imaging most commonly displays ciliary body mass with intratumoural cysts (nine eyes). Three patients underwent surgery for cataract or glaucoma while the tumours were incidentally found. Two of the three patients managed by eye preserve treatments eventually required enucleation because of local tumour recurrence or phthisis. One patient treated with intra-arterial chemotherapy and cryotherapy had successful tumour regression and globe salvage. CONCLUSIONS Initial misdiagnosis, delay in diagnosis and subsequent misdirected management is not uncommon in medulloepithelioma. The presence of multiple cysts in the tumour and retrolental neoplastic cyclitic membrane detected by UBM can offer certain information. Selective intra-arterial melphalan may prevent further tumour growth, but longer follow-up is necessary until treatment efficacy is fully evaluated.

Objective: To explore the clinical effects of flaps or myocutaneous flaps transplantation after debridement to repair the wounds with exposed titanium mesh after cranioplasty on the premise of retaining the titanium mesh. Methods: This study was a retrospective observational study. From February 2017 to October 2022, 22 patients with titanium mesh exposure after cranioplasty who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic & Maxillofacial Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, including 15 males and 7 females, aged from 19 to 68 years. After admission, treatments such as bacterial culture of wound exudate sample, anti-infection, and dressing change were carried out. Thorough surgical debridement was performed when the wound improved, and the wound area was 3.0 cm×2.0 cm to 11.0 cm×8.0 cm after debridement. The wound was repaired with local flaps, expanded flaps, or free latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flaps according to the size, location, severity of infection, and surrounding tissue condition of the wounds, and the areas of flaps or myocutaneous flaps were 5.5 cm×4.0 cm to 18.0 cm×15.0 cm. The donor areas of flaps were sutured directly or repaired by split-thickness skin grafts from head. The wound repair method was recorded. The survivals of flaps or myocutaneous flaps after surgery and wound healing in 2 weeks after surgery were recorded. During postoperative follow-up, recurrence of infection or titanium mesh exposure in the implanted area of titanium mesh was observed; the head shapes of patients, scar formation of the operative incision, and baldness were observed. At the last follow-up, the satisfaction of patients with the treatment effect (dividing into three levels: satisfied, basically satisfied, and dissatisfied) was evaluated. The total treatment costs of patients during their hospitalization were calculated. Results: The wounds in 11 cases were repaired with local flaps, the wounds in 5 cases were repaired with expanded flaps, and the wounds in 6 cases were repaired with free latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flaps. All flaps or myocutaneous flaps survived completely after surgery, and all wounds healed well in 2 weeks after surgery. Follow up for 6 to 48 months after operation, only one patient with local flap grafting experienced a recurrence of infection in the titanium mesh implanted area at more than one month after surgery, and the titanium mesh was removed because of ineffective treatment. Except for one patient who had a local depression in the head after removing the titanium mesh, the rest of the patients had a full head shape. Except for myocutaneous flap grafting areas in 6 cases and skin grafting area in 1 case with local flaps grafting had no hair growth, the other patients had no baldness. All the scars in surgical incision were concealed. At the last follow-up, 19 cases were satisfied with the treatment effects, 2 cases were basically satisfied, and 1 case was dissatisfied. The total treatment cost for patients in this group during hospitalization was 11 764-36 452 (22 304±6 955) yuan. Conclusions: For patients with titanium mesh exposure after cranioplasty, on the premise of adequate preoperative preparation and thorough debridement, the wound can be repaired with appropriate flaps or myocutaneous flaps according to the wound condition. The surgery can preserve all or part of the titanium mesh. The postoperative wound healing is good and the recurrence of infection or titanium mesh exposure in the titanium mesh implanted area is reduced, leading to good head shape, reduced surgical frequency, and decreased treatment costs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The worldwide human monkeypox (mpox) outbreak in 2022 mainly affected men who have sex with men (MSM). In China, young men who have sex with men (YMSM) were at a potential high risk of mpox infection due to their sexual activeness and the eased COVID-19 restrictions at the end of 2022. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the behavioral intention of receiving mpox vaccination and undergoing mpox testing in 4 different scenarios and explore their associations with background and behavioral theory-related factors among Chinese YMSM. METHODS An online cross-sectional survey was conducted among YMSM aged 18-29 years from 6 representative provinces of China in September 2022. Participants recruited (recruitment rate=2918/4342, 67.2%) were asked to self-administer an anonymous questionnaire designed based on prior knowledge about mpox and classic health behavior theories. Data on the participants' background, mpox knowledge and cognition, mpox vaccination and testing cognition, and the behavioral intention of receiving mpox vaccination and undergoing mpox testing were collected. Descriptive analysis and univariate and multivariate linear regressions were performed. Geodetector was used to measure the stratified heterogeneity of behavioral intention. RESULTS A total of 2493 YMSM with a mean age of 24.6 (SD 2.9) years were included. The prevalence of having a behavioral intention of receiving mpox vaccination ranged from 66.2% to 88.4% by scenario, varying in epidemic status and cost. The prevalence of having an mpox testing intention was above 90% in all scenarios regardless of the presence of symptoms and the cost. The positive factors related to vaccination intention included mpox knowledge (ba=0.060, 95% CI 0.016-0.103), perceived susceptibility of mpox (ba=0.091, 95% CI 0.035-0.146), perceived severity of mpox (ba=0.230, 95% CI 0.164-0.296), emotional distress caused by mpox (ba=0.270, 95% CI 0.160-0.380), perceived benefits of mpox vaccination (ba=0.455, 95% CI 0.411-0.498), self-efficacy of mpox vaccination (ba=0.586, 95% CI 0.504-0.668), and having 1 male sex partner (ba=0.452, 95% CI 0.098-0.806), while the negative factor was perceived barriers to vaccination (ba=-0.056, 95% CI -0.090 to -0.022). The positive factors related to testing intention were perceived severity of mpox (ba=0.283, 95% CI 0.241-0.325), perceived benefits of mpox testing (ba=0.679, 95% CI 0.636-0.721), self-efficacy of mpox testing (ba=0.195, 95% CI 0.146-0.245), having 1 male sex partner (ba=0.290, 95% CI 0.070-0.510), and having in-person gatherings with MSM (ba=0.219, 95% CI 0.072-0.366), while the negative factor was emotional distress caused by mpox (ba=-0.069, 95% CI -0.137 to -0.001). CONCLUSIONS Among Chinese YMSM, the intention of undergoing mpox testing is optimal, while the mpox vaccination intention has room for improvement. A future national response should raise YMSM's mpox knowledge, disseminate updated information about mpox and preventive measures, improve preventive service accessibility and privacy, and provide advice on positively coping with the associated emotional distress.

Abstract
Electrochemical CO2 reduction can convert CO2 to value-added chemicals, but its selectivity toward C3+ products are very limited. One possible solution is to run the reactions in hybrid processes by coupling electrocatalysis with other catalytic routes. In this contribution, we report the cascade electrocatalytic and thermocatalytic reduction of CO2 to propionaldehyde. Using Cu(OH)2 nanowires as the precatalyst, CO2 /H2 O is reduced to concentrated C2 H4 , CO, and H2 gases in a zero-gap membrane electrode assembly (MEA) reactor. The thermochemical hydroformylation reaction is separately investigated with a series of rhodium-phosphine complexes. The best candidate is identified to be the one with the 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane diphosphine ligand, which exhibits a propionaldehyde turnover number of 1148 under a mild temperature and close-to-atmospheric pressure. By coupling and optimizing the upstream CO2 electroreduction and downstream hydroformylation reaction, we achieve a propionaldehyde selectivity of ~38 % and a total C3 oxygenate selectivity of 44 % based on reduced CO2 . These values represent a more than seven times improvement over the best prior electrochemical system alone or over two times improvement over other hybrid systems.

Abstract
Dendritic cells (DCs) play a crucial role in HIV-1 infection of CD4+ T cells. DC-SIGN, a lectin expressed on the surface of DCs, binds to the highly mannosylated viral membrane protein gp120 to capture HIV-1 virions and then transport them to target T cells. In this study, we modified peptide C34, an HIV-1 fusion inhibitor, at different sites using different sizes of the DC-SIGN-specific carbohydrates to provide dual-targeted HIV inhibition. The dual-target binding was confirmed by mechanistic studies. Pentamannose-modified C34 inhibited virus entry into both DC-SIGN+ 293T cells (52%-71% inhibition at 500 μM) and CD4+ TZM-b1 cells (EC50 = 0.7-1.7 nM). One conjugate, NC-M5, showed an extended half-life relative to C34 in rats (T1/2: 7.8 vs 1.02 h). These improvements in antiviral activity and pharmacokinetics have potential for HIV treatment and the development of dual-target inhibitors for pathogens that require the involvement of DC-SIGN for infection.

Abstract
The precise structural integration of single-atom and high-entropy-alloy features for energy electrocatalysis is highly appealing for energy conversion, yet remains a grand challenge. Herein, we report a class of single-atom Mo-tailored PdPtNiCuZn high-entropy-alloy nanosheets with dilute Pt-Pt ensembles and intrinsic tensile strain (Mo1-PdPtNiCuZn) as efficient electrocatalysts for enhancing the methanol oxidation reaction catalysis. The as-made Mo1-PdPtNiCuZn delivers an extraordinary mass activity of 24.55 A mgPt-1 and 11.62 A mgPd+Pt-1, along with impressive long-term durability. The planted oxophilic Mo single atoms as promoters modify the electronic structure of isolated Pt sites in the high-entropy-alloy host, suppressing the formation of CO adsorbates and steering the reaction towards the formate pathway. Meanwhile, Mo promoters and tensile strain synergistically optimize the adsorption behaviour of intermediates to achieve a more energetically favourable pathway and minimize the methanol oxidation reaction barrier. This work advances the design of atomically precise catalytic sites by creating a new paradigm of single atom-tailored high-entropy alloys, opening an encouraging pathway to the design of CO-tolerance electrocatalysts.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Genetic variation has been a major contributor to interindividual variability of warfarin dosage requirement. The specific genetic factors contributing to warfarin bleeding complications are largely unknown, particularly in Chinese patients. In this study, 896 Chinese patients were enrolled to explore the effect of CYP2C9 and VKORC1 genetic variations on both the efficacy and safety of warfarin therapy. METHODS AND RESULTS Univariate analyses unveiled significant associations between two specific single nucleotide polymorphisms rs1057910 in CYP2C9 and rs9923231 in VKORC1 and stable warfarin dosage (P < 0.001). Further, employing multivariate logistic regression analysis adjusted for age, sex and height, the investigation revealed that patients harboring at least one variant allele in CYP2C9 exhibited a heightened risk of bleeding events compared to those with the wild-type genotype (odds ratio = 2.16, P = 0.04). Moreover, a meta-analysis conducted to consolidate findings confirmed the associations of both CYP2C9 (rs1057910) and VKORC1 (rs9923231) with stable warfarin dosage. Notably, CYP2C9 variant genotypes were significantly linked to an increased risk of hemorrhagic complications (P < 0.00001), VKORC1 did not demonstrate a similar association. CONCLUSION The associations found between specific genetic variants and both stable warfarin dosage and bleeding risk might be the potential significance of gene detection in optimizing warfarin therapy for improving patient efficacy and safety.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Progressive hemifacial atrophy (PHA) is a rare disease characterized by progressive atrophy of skin, soft tissue, muscles, and underlying bone structures. For severe PHA patients with obvious bone deformities, skeletal framework reconstruction is needed in addition to soft-tissue augmentation. The authors propose a new combinatorial surgical method using rib cartilage graft and free adipofascial flap for restoring facial symmetry. To improve the surgical accuracy, preoperative three-dimensional planning and printing was used. METHODS Twelve patients with severe facial atrophy were included in the authors' study. Three-dimensional facial image analyses were performed preoperatively to quantify the facial asymmetry. Rib cartilages were harvested and sculptured to the appropriate shape created by three-dimensional planning and fixed to the atrophic bone. The circumflex scapular artery-based adipofascial flap was transplanted to repair soft-tissue deficiency. A residual small monitor flap was left with the adipofascial flap. A revision surgery was performed to perfect the repair if the contour was suboptimal 6 months postoperatively. RESULTS The adipofascial flaps survived in all 12 patients. All patients achieved good healing without complications. At 1 more year after surgery, the rib cartilage was still in position and rarely absorbed. The morphologic and volumetric difference between the affected side and the unaffected side was improved significantly postoperatively. All patients were satisfied with the results, and no more additional operations were required. CONCLUSION The combinatorial surgery of rib cartilage graft and free adipofascial flap in the setting of three-dimensional planning and printing can be a good choice in restoring facial symmetry in severe cases of PHA. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Obstetric care is a highly active area in the development and application of prognostic prediction models. The development and validation of these models often require the utilization of advanced statistical techniques. However, failure to adhere to rigorous methodological standards could greatly undermine the reliability and trustworthiness of the resultant models. Consequently, the aim of our study was to examine the current statistical practices employed in obstetric care and offer recommendations to enhance the utilization of statistical methods in the development of prognostic prediction models. MATERIAL AND METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional survey using a sample of studies developing or validating prognostic prediction models for obstetric care published in a 10-year span (2011-2020). A structured questionnaire was developed to investigate the statistical issues in five domains, including model derivation (predictor selection and algorithm development), model validation (internal and external), model performance, model presentation, and risk threshold setting. On the ground of survey results and existing guidelines, a list of recommendations for statistical methods in prognostic models was developed. RESULTS A total of 112 eligible studies were included, with 107 reporting model development and five exclusively reporting external validation. During model development, 58.9% of the studies did not include any form of validation. Of these, 46.4% used stepwise regression in a crude manner for predictor selection, while two-thirds made decisions on retaining or dropping candidate predictors solely based on p-values. Additionally, 26.2% transformed continuous predictors into categorical variables, and 80.4% did not consider nonlinear relationships between predictors and outcomes. Surprisingly, 94.4% of the studies did not examine the correlation between predictors. Moreover, 47.1% of the studies did not compare population characteristics between the development and external validation datasets, and only one-fifth evaluated both discrimination and calibration. Furthermore, 53.6% of the studies did not clearly present the model, and less than half established a risk threshold to define risk categories. In light of these findings, 10 recommendations were formulated to promote the appropriate use of statistical methods. CONCLUSIONS The use of statistical methods is not yet optimal. Ten recommendations were offered to assist the statistical methods of prognostic prediction models in obstetric care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Tetranychus cinnabarinus is a polyphagous pest mite commonly found in agriculture. As an excellent acaricide, fenpropathrin (FEN) is frequently used to control T. cinnabarinus in agriculture. However, commercial FEN is a racemate with two enantiomers, R-FEN and S-FEN. Considering that investigations on the metabolism of FEN by T. cinnabarinus are based on racemate FEN, it is important to investigate the enantioselective metabolism of FEN in T. cinnabarinus. RESULTS S-FEN was more toxic to T. cinnabarinus than R-FEN by more than 68.8-fold. Moreover, the synergist bioassay revealed that carboxylesterase and cytochrome P450 were the primary enzymes engaged in the detoxification of FEN in T. cinnabarinus, with carboxylesterase playing a leading role. Seven genes were substantially different after the induction of S-FEN and R-FEN. TcCCE06 was screened and selected as a key gene that related to FEN metabolism in T. cinnabarinus. The metabolic results showed that the recombinant TcCCE06 effectively metabolized 32.1% of the R-FEN and 13.8% of the S-FEN within 4 h of incubation. Moreover, R-FEN was demonstrated to have a higher affinity for the TcCCE06 protein than S-FEN based on molecular docking. CONCLUSION Our results indicated that TcCCE06 mediates the enantioselective metabolism of FEN in T. cinnabarinus. Our findings will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying the differential toxicity of the FEN enantiomers against T. cinnabarinus. Furthermore, they also provide a new perspective for the development of enantiomer-enriched acaricides with higher activity and lower pesticide dosage and pollution risks. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
Persulfate oxidants are widely used in soil remediation and wastewater treatment but perform poorly in degrading polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), especially heavy fractions in solids. Herein, we propose the utilization of a green peroxymonosulfate-ferrate-FeS (PFI) oxidant as a promising process aid for remediating soils contaminated with heavy petroleum components, including asphaltenes and resins. The PFI oxidant could degrade heavy petroleum fractions because of dual activation of the peroxymonosulfate and ferrate by FeS at ambient conditions. Nevertheless, when dealing with soil with high oil content (>10%), the degradation efficiency remains limited (<30%) regardless of the quantity of oxidants employed. Surface elemental analysis shows that a coating of secondary products (Fe(OH)3, Fe2O3) on the surface and in pores of the soil-pollutant matrix explains the failure of oxidation and inefficient use of oxidant. To address this issue, a strategy of pre-solvent extraction-oxidation hybrid process with sequent acidic washing is proposed, where dichloromethane serves as the solvent, and PFI acts as the oxidant. In this system over 90% of the oil could be recovered with an oxidation efficiency of 80% by alleviating the problem of iron oxide coating the matrix surface. The oxidant consumption is also reduced to 70 wt% of the sludge. The PFI oxidant is found to exhibit excellent universality in treating oily sludge with low petroleum content (<2%), reducing the petroleum content in the residue to less than 0.3 wt% (meeting the national standards). The degradation of low oil content sludge by the PFI oxidant followed pseudo first-order kinetics. These findings not only elucidate the failure of PFI oxidation for high oil content oily sludge and identify its potential engineering application range, but also offer a practical strategy for processing petroleum-contaminated soil with varying oil contents through wet oxidation.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the infection status of mycobacterium tuberculosis among health workers in tuberculosis designated medical institutions and explore the risk factors of infection. Methods: From September 2021 to June 2022, a questionnaire survey was conducted among health workers in relevant departments of 4 tuberculosis designated medical institutions by cluster stratified sampling, including the implementation of hospital infection control measures in medical institutions and occupational exposure of medical staff to mycobacterium tuberculosis. Peripheral blood interferon gamma release assays (IGRAs) and lung imaging examination were performed to determine the mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Factors with statistical significance in univariate analysis were included in multivariate logistic regression to analyze the risk factors of mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Results: A total of 657 people completed the lung imaging examination and questionnaire, of which 654 people had peripheral blood IGRAs detection, and the latent infection rate of tuberculosis was 39.45% (258/654) . Univariate analysis showed that age, sex, marital status, economic income, occupational category, professional title, length of service, and other variables had statistical significances in tuberculosis latent infection (P<0.05) . In terms of personal health status, there were statistically significant differences in the distribution of health workers in terms of their tuberculosis history, tuberculosis history of their immediate family members, previous tuberculin skin test (TST) (P<0.05) . Multivariate analysis showed that there were four risk factors related to tuberculosis, including professional title (X(1)) , years of tuberculosis related works (X(2)) , tuberculosis history (X(3)) and previous TST (X(4)) . The regression equation of the probability of tuberculosis among health workers was y=-1.920+0.246X(1)+0.046X(2)+1.231X(3)+0.478X(4). Conclusion: The latent infection rate of tuberculosis among health workers in tuberculosis designated medical institutions is high. It is necessary to strengthen the management of infection control, carry out regular screening, enhance the self-protection awareness of health workers, and reduce their exposure to mycobacterium tuberculosis and infection risk.

Abstract
The multiplication of orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes using optical coordinate transformation is useful for OAM optical networks, but the scalability of this scheme is limited by the ray model. Here, we propose an alternative scheme for the scalable multiplication of OAM modes based on modified multi-plane light conversion (MPLC) that can extend azimuthal and radial indices of OAM modes supported by the multipliers and unlock a new degree of freedom for radial high-order OAM states that has been restricted in the zero order. The multiplication for 20 OAM modes with radial index p = 0 and 10 OAM modes with radial index p = 1 is performed in simulation and experiment. The 3-dB optical bandwidth corresponding to the purity of OAM modes covers the entire C-band experimentally. This novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach to manipulating OAM states provides valuable insights and flexible strategies for high-capacity OAM optical communication and high-dimensional optical quantum information processing.

Abstract
AIM Blunted niacin response (BNR) was an endophenotype of schizophrenia, but the underlying mechanism remains unclarified. The objective of this study was to verify whether genes associated with BNR pathway constitute the genetic basis and the pathological mechanism of BNR phenotypic psychiatric patients. METHODS Two independent sample sets consisting of 971 subjects were enrolled in this study. A total of 62 variants were genotyped in the discovery set, then the related variants were verified in the verification set. The published PGC GWAS data were used to validate the associations between the variants and psychiatry disorders. RT-PCR analysis, eQTL data, and Dual-Luciferase Reporter experiment were used to investigate the potential molecular mechanisms of the variants underlying BNR. RESULTS The results showed that two SNPs, rs56959712 in HCAR2 and rs2454721 in HCAR3 were significantly associated with niacin response. The risk allele T of rs2454721 could affect the niacin responses of psychiatric patients through elevated HCAR3 gene expression. These two genes, especially HCAR3, were significantly associated with the risk of schizophrenia, as identified in this study and verified using the published GWAS data. CONCLUSION HCAR3 is a novel schizophrenia susceptibility gene which is significantly associated with blunted niacin response in schizophrenia. In-depth investigation of HCAR3 is of great significance for uncovering the pathogenesis and propose new therapeutic targets for psychiatric disorders, especially for the BNR subgroup patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Among observational studies of routinely collected health data (RCD) for exploring treatment effects, algorithms are used to identify study variables. However, the extent to which algorithms are reliable and impact the credibility of effect estimates is far from clear. This study aimed to investigate the validation of algorithms for identifying study variables from RCD, and examine the impact of alternative algorithms on treatment effects. METHODS We searched PubMed for observational studies published in 2018 that used RCD to explore drug treatment effects. Information regarding the reporting, validation, and interpretation of algorithms was extracted. We summarized the reporting and methodological characteristics of algorithms and validation. We also assessed the divergence in effect estimates given alternative algorithms by calculating the ratio of estimates of the primary vs. alternative analyses. RESULTS A total of 222 studies were included, of which 93 (41.9%) provided a complete list of algorithms for identifying participants, 36 (16.2%) for exposure, and 132 (59.5%) for outcomes, and 15 (6.8%) for all study variables including population, exposure, and outcomes. Fifty-nine (26.6%) studies stated that the algorithms were validated, and 54 (24.3%) studies reported methodological characteristics of 66 validations, among which 61 validations in 49 studies were from the cross-referenced validation studies. Of those 66 validations, 22 (33.3%) reported sensitivity and 16 (24.2%) reported specificity. A total of 63.6% of studies reporting sensitivity and 56.3% reporting specificity used test-result-based sampling, an approach that potentially biases effect estimates. Twenty-eight (12.6%) studies used alternative algorithms to identify study variables, and 24 reported the effects estimated by primary analyses and sensitivity analyses. Of these, 20% had differential effect estimates when using alternative algorithms for identifying population, 18.2% for identifying exposure, and 45.5% for classifying outcomes. Only 32 (14.4%) studies discussed how the algorithms may affect treatment estimates. CONCLUSION In observational studies of RCD, the algorithms for variable identification were not regularly validated, and-even if validated-the methodological approach and performance of the validation were often poor. More seriously, different algorithms may yield differential treatment effects, but their impact is often ignored by researchers. Strong efforts, including recommendations, are warranted to improve good practice.

Abstract
Marine bacteria have been considered as important participants in revealing various carbon/sulfur/nitrogen cycles of marine ecosystem. Thus, how to accurately identify rare marine bacteria without a culture process is significant and valuable. In this work, we constructed a single-cell Raman spectra dataset from five living bacteria spores and utilized convolutional neural network to rapidly, accurately, nondestructively identify bacteria spores. The optimal CNN architecture can provide a prediction accuracy of five bacteria spore as high as 94.93% ± 1.78%. To evaluate the classification weight of extracted spectra features, we proposed a novel algorithm by occluding fingerprint Raman bands. Based on the relative classification weight arranged from large to small, four Raman bands located at 1518, 1397, 1666, and 1017 cm-1 mostly contribute to producing such high prediction accuracy. It can be foreseen that, LTRS combined with CNN approach have great potential for identifying marine bacteria, which cannot be cultured under normal condition.

Abstract
The 2022 multi-country mpox outbreak raised public concern globally. Self-isolation and informing close contacts after developing mpox-related symptoms are critical measures in controlling the outbreak. This study investigated behavioral intentions of self-isolation and informing close contacts after developing mpox-related symptoms and associated factors among young men who have sex with men (YMSM) aged 18-29 years in China. The cross-sectional study was conducted among 2493 YMSM in six provincial regions in China from September 10th to 30th, 2022. Descriptive and logistic analyses were applied, using the intentions of self-isolation and informing close contacts after developing mpox-related symptoms as binary outcomes. The mean age of the participants was 24.6 (SD = 2.9) years. The prevalence of having intentions of self-isolation and informing close contacts after developing mpox-related symptoms was 88.6% (95% CI: 87.3%-89.9%) and 84.9% (95% CI: 83.5%-86.3%). Participants who were employed (adjusted odds ratio (AOR) = 1.474, 95% CI: 1.035-2.097; AOR = 1.371, 95% CI:1.002, 1.876), had higher mpox knowledge scores (AOR = 1.474, 95% CI: 1.035-2.097; AOR = 1.371, 95% CI: 1.002-1.876), and had higher perceived threats of mpox (AOR = 1.079, 95% CI: 1.030-1.130; AOR = 1.045, 95% CI: 1.002-1.090) were more likely to intend to self-isolate and inform close contacts. Participants who had MSM in-person gatherings in the past 6 months were more likely to intend to self-isolate (AOR = 1.392, 95% CI: 1.066-1.208). Participants with higher depression scores (AOR = 0.968, 95% CI: 0.948-0.989) and self-stigma (AOR = 0.975, 95% CI: 0.954-0.997) were less likely to intend to self-isolate and inform close contacts, respectively. Self-isolation and informing close contacts when developing disease-related symptoms are acceptable measures in response to mpox in China. Strengthening targeted risk communication and self-efficacy, raising disease knowledge, providing mental support, and reducing stigma toward the affected community are warranted.

Abstract
Tight junction proteins play a crucial role in paracellular transport in salivary gland epithelia. It is clear that severe xerostomia in patients with HELIX syndrome is caused by mutations in the claudin-10 gene. However, little is known about the expression pattern and role of claudin-10 in saliva secretion in physical and disease conditions. In the present study, we found that only claudin-10b transcript was expressed in human and mouse submandibular gland (SMG) tissues, and claudin-10 protein was dominantly distributed at the apicolateral membranes of acini in human, rat, and mouse SMGs. Overexpression of claudin-10 significantly reduced transepithelial electrical resistance and increased paracellular transport of dextran and Na+ in SMG-C6 cells. In C57BL/6 mice, pilocarpine stimulation promoted secretion and cation concentration in saliva in a dose-dependent increase. Assembly of claudin-10 to the most apicolateral portions in acini of SMGs was observed in the lower pilocarpine (1 mg/kg)-treated group, and this phenomenon was much obvious in the higher pilocarpine (10 mg/kg)-treated group. Furthermore, 7-, 14-, and 21-wk-old nonobese diabetic (NOD) and BALB/c mice were used to mimic the progression of hyposalivation in Sjögren syndrome. Intensity of claudin-10 protein was obviously lower in SMGs of 14- and 21-wk-old NOD mice compared with that of age-matched BALB/c mice. In the cultured mouse SMG tissues, interferon-γ (IFN-γ) downregulated claudin-10 expression. In claudin-10-overexpressed SMG-C6 cells, paracellular permeability was decreased. Furthermore, IFN-γ stimulation increased p-STAT1 level, whereas pretreatment with JAK/STAT1 antagonist significantly alleviated the IFN-γ-induced claudin-10 downregulation. These results indicate that claudin-10 functions as a pore-forming component in acinar epithelia of SMGs, assembly of claudin-10 is required for saliva secretion, and downregulation of claudin-10 induces hyposecretion. These findings may provide new clues to novel therapeutic targets on hyposalivation.

It is now part of the "Volume 9 of Chinese medicine formula preparation in Drug Standard." XHP and its primary ingredients have been demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties against colitis. However, the specific effects and underlying mechanisms of XHP in treating colitis remain unknown. AIM OF THE STUDY This study aimed to investigate the potential impact of XHP on colitis and uncover the underlying mechanisms involved. MATERIALS AND METHODS An acute colitis model was developed in C57BL/6N mice, and the effects on weight loss, colon length, the permeability of the colonic mucosa barrier, Claudin-5 and Occludin expression, number of both infiltrating MPO-positive cells and CD68-positive cells, and the content of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-22, IL-1β, and TNF-α) in the colon tissue were investigated. Low-, medium-, and high-dose XHP (0.45, 0.9, and 1.8 g/kg/day) (batch number: z21021222) were administered to the mice by gavage over the course of two weeks. Additionally, the protein expression levels in colon tissue from the control group, colitis group, and XHP low-dose administration group mice were analyzed by quantitative proteomics techniques. The comprehensive profiling and characterization of absorbed components in mice blood following oral administration of XHP were identified by HPLC/Q-TOF-MS techniques, and the absorbed components in blood were combined with proteomics to reveal the mechanism of enteritis inhibition by XHP. RESULTS Our findings indicated that XHP enhanced weight loss and colonic shortening of colitis mice. Additionally, XHP reduced the increase in permeability of the colonic mucosa barrier and decreased expression of Claudin-5 and Occludin, while significantly reducing the number of infiltrating MPO-positive cells and CD68-positive cells in the colon tissue. We found that XHP reduced the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-6, IL-22, IL-1β, and TNF-α in colon tissue. Pharmacokinetic analysis suggested that XHP contained 24 blood-entering prototype ingredients, which improved colitis through the regulation of various proteins (e.g., Ctsb, Sting1, and Abat) linked to mucosal barrier injury and inflammation. CONCLUSION XHP improved intestinal mucosal barrier injury and reduced MPO-positive cells and CD68-positive cell infiltration through multiple targets and pathways, providing support for XHP as a promising therapy for colitis.

Abstract
Fusarium oxysporum is an important phytopathogenic fungus, it can be controlled by the soil fumigant methyl isothiocyanate (MITC). However, the antimicrobial mechanism of MITC against F. oxysporum, especially at the transcriptional level, is still unclear. In this experiment, the antimicrobial mechanism of MITC against F. oxysporum was investigated. Our results indicated that when F. oxysporum was exposed to 6 mg/L MITC for 12 h, the inhibitory rate of MITC on F. oxysporum was 80%. Transmission electron microscopes showed that the cell wall and membrane of F. oxysporum had shrunk and folded, vacuoles increased, and mitochondria swelled and deformed. In addition, the enzyme activity of F. oxysporum treated with MITC showed a decrease of 32.50%, 8.28% and 74.04% in catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase, respectively. Transcriptome sequencing of F. oxysporum was performed and the results showed that 1478 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were produced in response to MITC exposure. GO and KEGG analysis showed that the DEGs identified were involved in substance and energy metabolism, signal transduction, transport and catalysis. MITC disrupted cell homeostasis by influencing the expression of some key genes involved in chitin synthase and detoxification enzymes production, but F. oxysporum also protected itself by up-regulating genes involved in energy synthesis (such as upregulating acnA, CS and LSC2 in TCA). qRT-PCR data validated the reliability of transcriptome data. Our research used biochemical and genetic techniques to identify molecular lesions in the mycelia of F. oxysporum exposed to MITC, and provide valuable insights into the toxic mechanism of pathogenic fungi mediated by MITC. These techniques are also likely to be useful for rapidly screening and identifying new, environmentally-friendly soil fumigants that are efficacious against fungal pathogens.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with common cardiovascular diseases (CVD, including hypertension, coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure) combined with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and explore the potential risk factors of MCI in patients with CVD. Methods: A total of 2 294 patients with common cardiovascular diseases who met the criteria at Cardiology Medical Center in Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, from June 1, 2021, to January 5, 2022, were retrospectively included. The patients were divided into the normal cognitive function group (1 107 cases) and the MCI group (1 187 cases). Demographic information and CVD status were collected. The information of cognitive function were collected using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scales. The difference between normal cognitive function and MCI were compared and analyzed. The logistic regression analysis was used to explored risk factors of MCI in CVD patients. Results: A total of 2 294 patients aged (60.6±10.4) years were included, among whom there were 29.99% (688 cases) females. Compared with patients in the normal cognitive function group, patients in the MCI group were older [ (57.9±11.4) vs (63.1±8.9) years old, P<0.001], with a higher proportion of women [26.47% (293 cases) vs 33.28% (395 cases), P<0.001]; there was a higher proportion of patients suffering from hypertension in the MCI group [59.62% (660 cases) vs 64.62% (767 cases), P=0.014], and more components of CVD [(1.68±0.62) vs (1.74±0.65) components, P=0.017]. The risk factors of MCI in patients with common CVD were increased age, increased depression score, combined with hypertension, and ≥3 common components of CVD, with OR (95%CI) of 1.043 (1.032-1.054), 1.021 (1.004-1.037), 1.151 (1.142-3.439), and 1.137 (1.023-1.797), respectively (all P values <0.05). Increasing education level was observed to be associated with reduced risk of MCI with OR (95%CI) of 0.319 (0.271-0.378) (P<0.05). Conclusions: The incidence of MCI was high in CVD patients. The risk factors of MCI in CVD patients included hypertension and≥3 common components of CVD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low-level viremia (LLV) has been identified as a potential precursor to virologic failure (VF), yet its clinical implications, particularly within the context of Integrase Strand Transfer Inhibitors (INSTIs)-based regimens, remain insufficiently explored. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between LLV and VF within ART-naïve patients on INSTIs-based regimens in China. METHODS A longitudinal cohort study was conducted with ART-naïve patients aged ≥ 18 years at Beijing Ditan Hospital, under the Chinese National Free Antiretroviral Treatment Program (NFATP). The LLV was defined as a viral load (VL) ranging from 50 to 199 copies/mL after six months of ART initiation, and VF as a VL ≥ 200 copies/mL. Sensitive analyses were also performed, defining LLV as 50-999 copies/mL and VF as exceeding 1000 copies/mL. Multivariate logistic regression, Kaplan-Meier (KM) curve, and Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE) models were used to evaluate the risk factors associated with LLV and VF events. RESULTS The study involved 830 ART-naïve patients, comprising 600 in the INSTIs group and 230 in the protease inhibitors (PIs) group. LLV events were observed in 10.4% of patients on PIs-based regimens and and 3.2% on INSTIs-based regimens (P < 0.001). INSTIs-based regimens demonstrated a protective effect against LLV events (aHR = 0.27, 95% CI 0.137-0.532). VF events occurred in 10.9% of patients on PIs-based regimens and 2.0% on INSTIs-based regimens, respectively (P < 0.001). The occurrence of LLV events significantly increased the risk of VF by 123.5% (95% CI 7.5%-364.4%), while the integrase inhibitors were associated with a 76.9% (95% CI 59.1%-86.9%) reduction in VF risk. CONCLUSION Our findings indicate that INSTIs-based regimens are critical protective factors against LLV and subsequent VF. These results underscore the importance of HIV viral load monitoring to ensuring effective treatment outcomes, highlighting the necessity for prompt and precise monitoring to refine HIV treatment methodologies.

Abstract
Genetic counseling for hearing loss today originated from decoding the genetic code of hereditary hearing loss, which serves as an effective strategy for preventing hearing loss and constitutes a crucial component of the diagnostic and therapeutic framework. This paper described the main principles and contents of genetic counseling for hearing loss, the key points of counseling across various genetic models and its application in tertiary prevention strategies targeting hearing impairment. The prospects of an AI-assisted genetic counseling decision system and the envisions of genetic counseling in preventing hereditary hearing loss were introduced. Genetic counseling for hearing loss today embodies the hallmark of a new era, which is inseparable from the advancements in science and technology, and will undoubtedly contribute to precise gene intervention!

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Disorders of consciousness (DOC) result from neural system injury and manifest as changes in arousal or awareness. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), on consciousness dysfunction in patients with brain disorders. METHODS Literature was systematically searched in Medline, Embase, Cochrane database, Web of Science, EBSCO from inception to May 2023. Only randomized controlled trial with NIBS as an intervention and participants with DOC were included. RESULTS A total of 7 studies with 313 participants were included for meta-analysis. Compared with sham- or placebo-stimulation, NIBS can improve the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised scores significantly (mean difference [MD] = 1.96, 95 % confidence interval [CI] = [1.49; 2.43], P <.0001). CONCLUSION NIBS has a significant positive effect in enhancing the symptoms of DOC. Nevertheless, it is imperative for further investigations comprising high-quality research designs and larger sample sizes in order to comprehensively elucidate the effects of NIBS techniques on diverse targets of stimulation within the population of individuals suffering from DOC.

Abstract
Catalytic and asymmetric domino Michael/aldol reaction of 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds with α,β-unsaturated ketones under the synergetic catalysis of chiral-at-metal rhodium complexes and pyrrolidine to deliver tertiary α-hydroxylation-cyclopentanones (45-89% yields with 81-99% ee and up to >20:1 dr) bearing three contiguous stereogenic centers had been established. Moreover, the scalability and practical utility of this protocol were well demonstrated by employing a gram-scale reaction and some representative transformations.

Abstract
Accumulating evidence demonstrates that it is of great importance to maintain a stable and functional gut microbial community for host's growth and health. However, gut microenvironment is constantly affected by diverse environmental factors. Salinity can cause stress, including hypersaline or hyposaline stress to aquatic species, thereby affecting their growth conditions. Razor clam (Sinonovacula constricta), an economically important bivalve species, inhabits in intertidal and estuarine zones and constantly experiences salinity stress. Yet little is known about how and to what extent clam gut microbiota is affected by salinity stress, while this knowledge is fundamental for clam aquaculture health management. To address this concern, this study compared the temporal differences of gut bacterial signatures and community assembly of S. constricta under normal salinity (NS), low salinity (LS), and high salinity (HS) conditions. Acute salinity stress affected the compositions, structures, and functional potentials of clam gut microbial community, of which salinity stress, hours post stress, and their interaction respectively constrained 7.6%, 16.4%, and 7.9% of community variation. Phylogenetic bin-based null model result revealed that the gut bacterial assembly of three salinity groups seemed to be largely driven by stochastic processes. Network analysis indicated that gut bacterial interspecies interaction exhibited less connected and lower cooperative activity under the conditions of LS and HS compared with NS. Notably, some pathogenic bacteria, including Vibrio and Pseudoalteromonas, were identified as keystone taxa of gut microbial networks in LS and HS groups. Above findings suggest that the clams under LS and HS conditions might be at a higher risk of developing disease. Our findings enhance the mechanism understanding of gut microbial assembly in S. constricta under abiotic factor challenge, which has important implications for clam health control from a microbial ecological perspective.

Abstract
With the development of precision medicine and artificial intelligence, the infusion of many drugs has been intelligently controlled according to patients' conditions. However, the infusion of oxytocin (OT) still relies on medical staff responsible for implementing artificial regulation based on observation of fetal electronic monitoring and other maternal and fetal conditions. In this review, we discussed recent trends in intelligent infusion systems, the development status and dilemma of intelligent control of OT infusion, the drug intelligent feedback control system principle, and current risks and challenges to further promote obstetric informatization.

Abstract
AIM To compare the diagnostic performance of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) parameters, specifically true diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo diffusion coefficient (D∗), and perfusion fraction (f) for quantitatively differentiating benign and malignant renal lesions. MATERIALS AND METHODS A comprehensive search was conducted in the EMBASE and PubMed databases before September 2022 to identify studies in English investigating the diagnostic accuracy of DWI and IVIM in renal lesions. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the QUADAS-2 tool. Pooled sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC) values were estimated for each parameter. RESULTS A total of 19 studies involving 1,860 renal lesions (1,160 malignant and 700 benign), met the inclusion criteria. Among these studies, 15 assessed the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), four assessed IVIM, and three evaluated both ADC and IVIM. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, and AUC for ADC were 0.84 (95% confidence interval [Cl], 0.79-0.88), 0.82 (95% Cl, 0.72-0.89), and 0.89 (95% Cl, 0.86-0.92), respectively. The IVIM parameter with the highest diagnostic accuracy was D, with a pooled sensitivity, specificity, and AUC of 0.89 (95% Cl, 0.74-0.96), 0.96 (95% Cl, 0.85-0.99), and 0.98 (95% Cl, 0.96-0.99), respectively. The pooled sensitivity, specificity and AUC for f were 0.67 (95% Cl, 0.55-0.77), 0.81 (95% Cl, 0.30-0.98), and 0.73 (95% Cl, 0.69-0.77), respectively. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, and AUC for D∗ were 0.87 (95% Cl, 0.81-0.91), 0.59 (95% Cl, 0.48-0.70), and 0.82 (95% Cl, 0.78-0.85), respectively. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis indicated that both IVIM and DWI had moderate to high diagnostic accuracy for differentiating benign and malignant renal lesions. Among the IVIM parameter, D exhibited the highest diagnostic accuracy, demonstrating higher sensitivity and specificity than ADC, D∗, and f.

Abstract
Among the assortment of available dressings aimed at promoting wound healing, moist dressings have gained significant popularity because of their ability to create an optimal environment for wound recovery. This meta-analysis seeks to compare the effects of moist dressing versus gauze dressing on wound healing time. A comprehensive literature search was conducted, encompassing publications up until April 1, 2023, across multiple databases including PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Cochrane Library. Stringent criteria were used to determine study inclusion and evaluate methodological quality. Statistical analyses were performed utilizing Stata 17.0. A total of 13 articles, encompassing 866 participants, were included in the analysis. The findings indicate that moist dressing surpasses gauze dressing in terms of wound healing time (standard mean difference [SMD] -2.50, 95% confidence interval [CI] -3.35 to -1.66, p < 0.01; I2 = 97.24%), wound site infection rate (odds ratio [OR] 0.30, 95% CI 0.17 to 0.54, p < 0.01; I2 = 39.91%), dressing change times (SMD -3.65, 95% CI -5.34 to -1.97, p < 0.01; I2 = 96.48%), and cost (SMD -2.66, 95% CI -4.24 to -1.09, p < 0.01; I2 = 94.90%). Subgroup analyses revealed possible variations in wound healing time based on wound types and regions. This study underscores the significant advantages associated with the use of moist dressings, including expedited wound healing, reduced infection rates, decreased frequency of dressing changes, and lower overall treatment costs.

Abstract
Laryngeal cancer ranks as the second most prevalent upper airway malignancy, following Lung cancer. Although some progress has been made in managing laryngeal cancer, the 5-year survival rate is disappointing. The gradual increase in the incidence of second primary tumors (SPTs) plays a crucial role in determining survival outcomes during long-term follow-up, and the esophagus was the most common site with a worse prognosis. In clinical practice, the treatment of esophageal second primary tumors (ESPT) in patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) has always been challenging. For patients with synchronous tumors, several treatment modalities, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and potentially curative surgery are necessary but are typically poorly tolerated. Secondary cancer therapy options for metachronous patients are always constrained by index cancer treatment indications. Therefore, understanding the clonal origin of the second primary tumor may be an important issue in the treatment of patients. LSCC cells demonstrate genetic instability because of two distinct aetiologies (human papillomavirus (HPV)-negative and HPV-positive) disease. Various etiologies exhibit distinct oncogenic mechanisms, which subsequently impact the tissue microenvironment. The condition of the tissue microenvironment plays a crucial role in determining the destiny and clonal makeup of mutant cells during the initial stages of tumorigenesis. This review focuses on the genetic advances of LSCC, the current research status of SPT, and the influence of key carcinogenesis of HPV-positive and HPV-negative LSCC on clonal evolution of ESPT cells. The objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the molecular basis underlying the clonal origins of SPT, thereby offering novel perspectives for future investigations in this field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Female reproductive factors such as age at first birth (AFB), age at last birth (ALB), number of pregnancies and live births play an essential role in women's health. However, few epidemiological studies have evaluated the association between female reproductive factors and metabolic syndrome (MetS). We therefore conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the association between MetS risk and female reproductive factors. METHODS We investigated the relationship between AFB, ALB, number of pregnancies and live births and the incidence of MetS using publicly available data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2018. Weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS) model, and subgroup analysis were used to evaluate the association between AFB and ALB and the risk of MetS in women. In addition, the relationship between the number of pregnancies, live births and MetS risk was also explored. RESULTS A total of 15,404 women were included in the study, and 5,983 (38.8%) had MetS. RCS models showed an N-shaped relationship between AFB and MetS risk, whereas ALB, number of pregnancies, and live births were linearly associated with MetS. Weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that the number of live births was associated with MetS risk, with ORs of 1.18 (95% CI: 1.04, 1.35) for women with ≥ 5 deliveries compared to women with ≤ 2 births. CONCLUSIONS AFB was associated with the risk of MetS in an N-shaped curve in women. In addition, women with high live births have a higher incidence of MetS.

Abstract
While 19S proteasome regulatory particle (RP) inhibition is a promising new avenue for treating bortezomib-resistant myeloma, the anti-tumor impact of inhibiting 19S RP component PSMD14 could not be explained by a selective inhibition of proteasomal activity. Here, we report that PSMD14 interacts with NSD2 on chromatin, independent of 19S RP. Functionally, PSMD14 acts as a histone H2AK119 deubiquitinase, facilitating NSD2-directed H3K36 dimethylation. Integrative genomic and epigenomic analyses revealed the functional coordination of PSMD14 and NSD2 in transcriptional activation of target genes (e.g., RELA) linked to myelomagenesis. Reciprocally, RELA transactivates PSMD14, forming a PSMD14/NSD2-RELA positive feedback loop. Remarkably, PSMD14 inhibitors enhance bortezomib sensitivity and fosters anti-myeloma synergy. PSMD14 expression is elevated in myeloma and inversely correlated with overall survival. Our study uncovers an unappreciated function of PSMD14 as an epigenetic regulator and a myeloma driver, supporting the pursuit of PSMD14 as a therapeutic target to overcome the treatment limitation of myeloma.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the value of echocardiography in diagnosing papillary muscle rupture (PMR) of the mitral valve, and summarize the characteristic echocardiographic features of different types. METHODS Echocardiograms of 13 PMR patients confirmed by surgery in Wuhan Union Hospital between January 2009 and December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed and their preoperative transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) was compared with surgical findings. RESULTS A total of 9020 patients underwent mitral valve repair or replacement surgery during the study period including 13 (0.14%) for PMR. Of the 13 PMRs, 8 cases were partial PMR(P-PMR), 5 cases were complete PMR(C-PMR); 3 cases were anterolateral PMR, and 10 were posteromedial PMR. The diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the preoperative TTE were 99.9%, 53.8% and 99.9% respectively. Echocardiographic features of 10 patients (5-C-PMR and 5 P-PMR) with detailed TTE and intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) data included: both anterior and posterior leaflets prolapse (C-PMR 60% vs P-PMR 60%); flail leaflet (C-PMR100% vs P-PMR 40%); All C-PMRs and P-PMRs have severe, eccentric and lateral regurgitation; flail attachment (chordae tendinae and ruptured PM) at the tip of prolapsed leaflet (C-PMR100% vs P-PMR 60%); high-echo masses resembled "champagne glasses" in 100% of the C-PMR; high-echo masses resembled "lotus-seedpod" in 60% and "dumbbell-shaped" torn PM in remaining 40% of the P-PMR. CONCLUSIONS Different PMR subtypes have different echocardiographic characteristics. Combining TTE and TEE can accurately identify the typical features of PMR such as ipsilateral hemipetal leaflet prolapse, high-echoic mass at the tip of the leaflet, massive eccentricity and lateral regurgitation.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the factors influencing visual outcomes in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) who developed persistent submacular fluid (PSF) after scleral buckling surgery. Methods: A retrospective case series analysis was conducted. Clinical data were collected from patients who underwent successful scleral buckling surgery for RRD at Beijing Tongren Hospital from June 2020 to December 2022 and were followed up. Patients with RRD involving the macular area preoperatively and graded as C1 or below in proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) were included. Surgical procedures followed a minimally invasive scleral buckling approach. PSF was defined as subretinal fluid persisting for more than 1 month postoperatively. Regular follow-up visits were scheduled at postoperative days 1, 3, 7, 2 weeks, and 1 month, followed by monthly visits until complete PSF absorption. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure, refractive error, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were performed at each follow-up time point. Eyes were divided into two groups based on whether the final follow-up BCVA was≥0.5 and whether the absorption time of PSF was>6 months, and statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, chi-squared test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: A total of 46 patients (46 eyes) were included in this study, comprising 25 males and 21 females, with a median age of 32.5 (21.0, 57.3) years. The preoperative equivalent spherical refractive error was (-5.27±4.05) D, and the preoperative duration of illness was 30 (14, 92) days. The preoperative BCVA (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution,logMAR) was 2.00 (1.00, 2.50). Scleral buckle surgery was performed in 28 eyes (60.9%), and 18 eyes (39.1%) underwent scleral buckle surgery combined with encircling. External drainage was performed in 15 eyes (32.6%), while 31 eyes (67.4%) had no external drainage. BCVA (logMAR) at 1 month, 3 months, and the final follow-up postoperatively was 0.60 (0.50, 1.00), 0.40 (0.28, 0.53), and 0.15 (0.00, 0.50), respectively. In the final follow-up, 31 eyes (67.4%) achieved BCVA≥0.5, and 26 eyes (56.5%) had continuous ellipsoid zone on OCT. The differences in BCVA (logMAR) between preoperative, 1 month, 3 months, and the final follow-up were statistically significant (Z=-5.85, -5.63, -4.73;all P<0.001). The absorption time of PSF postoperatively was 6.50 (3.00, 9.00) months, ranging from 2 to 19 months. The eyes with PSF duration<3 months, 3-6 months, and>6 months were 12 eyes (26.1%), 11 eyes (23.9%), and 23 eyes (50.0%), respectively. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in preoperative BCVA≥0.05, preoperative duration of illness within 1 month, PVR grading, surgical method, and continuous ellipsoid zone on OCT (all P<0.05), while there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in PSF absorption time, different types of PSF, and intraoperative drainage (all P>0.05). The PSF absorption time in the two groups was 7 (3, 10) months and 6 (4, 8) months, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusions: Preoperative visual acuity, duration of illness, and PVR grading are factors influencing visual outcomes in patients with RRD who have undergone scleral buckling surgery and develop PSF. In contrast, intraoperative drainage, PSF absorption time, and different PSF types are not factors affecting visual prognosis. Although PSF may persist for a long time after scleral buckling surgery, it does not significantly impact long-term visual outcomes.

Abstract
A novel type of oxide material, high entropy oxide (Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2Cu0.2)3O4 (MFO) composites with spinel structure were successfully synthesized by a simple solution combustion in this paper, and it was first applied to the degradation of antibiotic organic pollutants in water by photo-Fenton. SEM and BET characterization showed that the composite was porous and had a large specific surface area. XPS results showed that Fe, Mn, Cu, Co and Ni all participated in the redox reaction of the catalytic process. The redox pairs of Mn2+/Mn3+, Cu+/Cu2+, Co2+/Co3+, Ni2+/Ni3+ can accelerate the Fe2+/Fe3+ redox cycling in MFO to activate H2O2 and produce more reactive oxygen species. The catalytic performance of MFO composite was investigated using tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) as a model pollutant. The results displayed that the degradation rate of TC-HCl by MFO was 92.9% when the initial pH was 4, the dose of H2O2 was 50 mM, and the irradiation time was 60 min. The high entropy oxide MFO composites could build up an internal electric field, which restrains electron-hole recombination, improves the transfer of photogenerated charge carriers and maximize photocatalytic property. In addition, the free radical capture experiment determined that the main active species of the degradation reaction were e-, •O2- and •OH. The synergistic effect of the five components in the high entropy oxide strengthens lattice distortion and defects, increases oxygen vacancies, and thus has enhanced catalytic effect for TC-HCl degradation. This work shows that high entropy oxides have excellent catalytic performance for tetracycline organic pollutants, and it is speculated that high entropy oxides have good application prospects in the field of advanced oxidation technology for the degradation of organic pollutants.
