Abstract
BACKGROUND Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a multisite malignancy that responds well to immunotherapy. Despite the initial enthusiasm, the clinical benefits of immunotherapy in HNSCC patients are overall limited. Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) has been indicated to play a key role in the process of anti-tumor immune response mediation. However, ERS-related biomarkers which can accurately predict prognosis and immunotherapy response in HNSCC are still lacking. METHODS AND RESULTS In this study, we identify and validate an ERS-related signature comprises of six genes (ASNS, EXOSC6, BAK1, TPP1, EXOSC8, and TATDN2) that can predict the prognosis of HNSCC patients. GSEA analysis indicates that the ERS-related signature is significantly correlated with tumor immunity in HNSCC. Moreover, the infiltration of naive B cells and CD8 + T cells are significantly diminished in patients with high-risk scores compared to those with low-risk scores, while macrophages and activated mast cells are remarkably enhanced. Furthermore, the ERS-related signature also displays a tremendous potential for predicting immunotherapy response in HNSCC. CONCLUSIONS Our study identifies an ERS-related signature that can predict the prognosis of HNSCC patients and highlights its potential value as a predictive biomarker of immunotherapy response, potentially enabling more precise and personalized immunotherapy response and paving the way for further investigation of the prognostic and therapeutic potentials of ERS.

Abstract
We experimentally demonstrate a narrow linewidth semiconductor multi-wavelength distributed feedback (DFB) laser array by simultaneously injection locking each laser to the corresponding resonance of a single on-chip microring resonator. The white frequency noises of all the DFB lasers is reduced by more than 40 dB once they are simultaneously injection locked to a single microring resonator with a quality factor (Q-factor) of 2.38 million. Correspondingly, the instantaneous linewidths of all the DFB lasers are narrowed by a factor of 104. In addition, frequency combs originating from non-degenerate four-wave mixing (FWM) between the locked DFB lasers are also observed. Simultaneously injection locking multi-wavelength lasers to a single on-chip resonator may enable the possibilities of integrating a narrow-linewidth semiconductor laser array on a single chip and having multiple microcombs in a single resonator, which are in high demand in wavelength division multiplexing coherent optical communication systems and metrological applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Most of the 1.1 million women who deliver by cesarean in the United States each year have an uncomplicated recovery. However, severe pain resistant to standard multimodal therapy within the first days after surgery is associated with an increased risk for prolonged pain and opioid use. The best outpatient management for parturients with severe resistant early onset pain is not known. METHODS We performed a prospective, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized trial of up to 12 weeks of outpatient treatment with gabapentin to evaluate its effectiveness to facilitate opioid cessation in women with at least 2 reports of severe pain during the immediate postpartum period resistant to standard multimodal pain management. Time to opioid cessation was the primary outcome. Time to pain resolution; time to discontinuation of gabapentin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen; time to self-reported recovery; and National Institute of Health Patient-Reported Outcomes System (PROMIS) surveys for anxiety, depression, fatigue, and physical function were assessed as secondary outcomes. RESULTS There was no difference in time to opioid cessation between patients who were randomly assigned to be treated with gabapentin (Kaplan-Meier estimated median of 2 [25th-75th percentiles of 1-3] weeks, n = 35) versus those who were treated with placebo (2 [1-3] weeks, n = 35). The hazard ratio was 1.1 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.67-1.8), P = .65. There were no differences in any secondary end points between the study groups. CONCLUSIONS Outpatient supplementation with gabapentin did not reduce time to opioid cessation, pain, anxiety, depression, fatigue, or improve physical function in women with severe pain after cesarean delivery. Gabapentin should not be routinely added to the standard outpatient multimodal regimen of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and opioids.

Abstract
Humoral immunity confers protection against COVID-19. The longevity of antibody responses after receiving an inactivated vaccine in individuals with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection is unclear. Plasma samples were collected from 58 individuals with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection and 25 healthy donors (HDs) who had been vaccinated with an inactivated vaccine. The neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) and S1 domain-specific antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 wild-type and Omicron strains and nucleoside protein (NP)-specific antibodies were measured using a chemiluminescent immunoassay. Statistical analysis was performed using clinical variables and antibodies at different timepoints after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. NAbs targeting the wild-type or Omicron strain were detected in individuals with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection at 12 months after infection (wild-type: 81%, geometric mean (GM): 20.3 AU/mL; Omicron: 44%, GM: 9.4 AU/mL), and vaccination provided further enhancement of these antibody levels (wild-type: 98%, GM: 53.3 AU/mL; Omicron: 75%, GM: 27.8 AU/mL, at 3 months after vaccination), which were significantly higher than those in HDs receiving a third dose of inactivated vaccine (wild-type: 85%, GM: 33.6 AU/mL; Omicron: 45%, GM: 11.5 AU/mL). The level of NAbs in individuals with previous infection plateaued 6 months after vaccination, but the NAb levels in HDs declined continuously. NAb levels in individuals with previous infection at 3 months post-vaccination were strongly correlated with those at 6 months post-vaccination, and weakly correlated with those before vaccination. NAb levels declined substantially in most individuals, and the rate of antibody decay was negatively correlated with the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in the blood at discharge. These results suggest that the inactivated vaccine induced robust and durable NAb responses in individuals with previous infection up to 9 months after vaccination.

Abstract
Plant amino acid transporters (AATs) regulate not only long-distance transport and reallocation of nitrogen (N) from source to sink organs, but also amount of amino acids in leaves hijacked by invaded pathogens. However, the function of AATs in plant defense responses to pathogen infection remains unknown. In this study, we found that rice amino acid transporter gene OsLHT1 was expressed in leaves and up-regulated by maturing, N starvation and inoculation of blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. Knockout of OsLHT1 resulted in development stage- and N supply-dependent premature senescence of leaves at vegetative growth stage. In comparison to wild type, Oslht1 mutant lines showed sustained rusty red spots on fully mature leaf blades irrespective of N supply levels. Notably, no relationship between the severity of leaf rusty red spots and concentration of total N or amino acids was found in Oslht1 mutants at different developmental stages. Disruption of OsLHT1 altered transport and metabolism of amino acids and biosynthesis of flavones and flavonoids, enhanced expression of jasmonic acid- and salicylic acid-related defense genes and production of jasmonic acid and salicylic acid, accumulation of reactive oxygen species. OsLHT1 inactivation dramatically prevented the leaf invasion of M. oryzae, the hemi-biotrophic ascomycete fungus. Overall, these results establish a module connecting the activity of amino acid transporter with leaf metabolism and defense to rice blast fungus.

Abstract
Venetoclax, an orally bioavailable BCL-2 inhibitor, has been regarded as a breakthrough for the treatment of leukemia but has a wide interindividual variability and drug-drug interaction in pharmacokinetics. In this study, a simple and sensitive ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem with mass spectrometry method was established and fully validated to quantify venetoclax and voriconazole simultaneously in human plasma. After protein precipitation, the analytes were separated on a Hypersil GOLD C18 column (3 µm, 2.1 × 50 mm) by gradient elution. The mass detection was operated under multiple reaction monitoring mode at m/z 868.5 →636.2 for venetoclax, 350.0 → 127.0 for voriconazole and 353.0 → 127.0 for voriconazole-D3(Internal Standard). The calibration ranges were 0.1-10 μg/mL for venetoclax and 0.05-10 μg/mL for voriconazole with correlation coefficients (r2)>0.998. The validated method was successfully applied to the pharmacokinetic study in acute myeloid leukemia patients receiving venetoclax with or without voriconazole. The results suggested that co-treatment with 200 mg q12h voriconazole, the peak concentration of venetoclax (100 mg qd) could be raised to the same level as the 400 mg qd group. However, the trough concentration of venetoclax (100 mg qd) was much higher than that of the 400 mg qd group. Therapeutic drug monitoring might give some guidance for the adjustment of dosing regimens to guarantee the drug efficacy and safety of patients to some extent.

Abstract
Various navigation tasks involving dynamic scenarios require mobile robots to meet the requirements of a high planning success rate, fast planning, dynamic obstacle avoidance, and shortest path. PRM (probabilistic roadmap method), as one of the classical path planning methods, is characterized by simple principles, probabilistic completeness, fast planning speed, and the formation of asymptotically optimal paths, but has poor performance in dynamic obstacle avoidance. In this study, we use the idea of hierarchical planning to improve the dynamic obstacle avoidance performance of PRM by introducing D* into the network construction and planning process of PRM. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method, we conducted simulation experiments using the proposed PRM-D* (probabilistic roadmap method and D*) method for maps of different complexity and compared the results with those obtained by classical methods such as SPARS2 (improving sparse roadmap spanners). The experiments demonstrate that our method is non-optimal in terms of path length but second only to graph search methods; it outperforms other methods in static planning, with an average planning time of less than 1 s, and in terms of the dynamic planning speed, our method is two orders of magnitude faster than the SPARS2 method, with a single dynamic planning time of less than 0.02 s. Finally, we deployed the proposed PRM-D* algorithm on a real vehicle for experimental validation. The experimental results show that the proposed method was able to perform the navigation task in a real-world scenario.

Abstract
AIMS We describe two fetuses with conotruncal heart defects (CTDs) (persistent truncus arteriosus and pulmonary atresia/ventricular septal defect, respectively) in a Chinese family whose parents were both healthy. Testing was performed to identify any underlying genetic cause. MATERIALS AND METHODS Genomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood of the proband's parents and the skeletal muscle tissue of the two aborted fetuses for genetic testing. RESULTS A heterozygous likely pathogenic missense variant, c.1724G〉C (:p.Cys575Ser), in the NOTCH1 gene (NM_017617.5) was detected in the two affected fetuses but not in the parents, and the next generation sequencing test of the proband's father showed a normal result. It is therefore presumed to result from germline mosaicism in the proband's mother or, less likely, is a recurrent de novo variant in the fetuses. CONCLUSION This is the first description of fetal non-syndromic CTD caused by a variant in NOTCH1. This report not only expands the gene variant spectrum of CTDs, but also emphasizes the importance of NOTCH1 testing when a fetal of CTD is detected.

Abstract
The organellar Ca2+-activated K+ channels share a similar ability to transfer the alteration of Ca2+ concentration to membrane conductance of potassium. Multiple effects of Ca2+-activated K+ channels on cell metabolism and complex signaling pathways during organ development have been explored. The organellar Ca2+-activated K+ channels are able to control the ionic equilibrium and are always associated with oxidative stress in different organelles and the whole cells. Some drugs targeting Ca2+-activated K+ channels have been tested for various diseases in clinical trials. In this review, the known roles of organellar Ca2+-activated K+ channels were described, and their effects on different diseases, particularly on diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological diseases were discussed. It was attempted to summarize the currently known operational modes with the involvement of organellar Ca2+-activated K+ channels. This review may assist scholars to more comprehensively understand organellar Ca2+-activated K+ channels and related diseases.

Abstract
The environmental changes caused by coal mining activities caused disturbances to the plant, soil, and microbial health in the mining area. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) play an important role in the ecological restoration of mining areas. However, it is less understood how soil fungal communities with multiple functional groups respond to coal mining, and the quantitative impact and risk of mining disturbance. Therefore, in this study, the effect of coal mining on soil microorganisms' composition and diversity were analyzed near the edge of an opencast coal-mine dump in the Shengli mining area, Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia. The response strategy of soil fungi to coal mining and the stability of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in the soil fungal community were determined. Our results showed that coal mining affected AMF and soil fungi in areas within 900 m from the coal mine. The abundance of endophytes increased with the distance between sampling sites and the mine dump, whereas the abundance of saprotroph decreased with the distance between sampling sites and the mine dump. Saprotroph was the dominant functional flora near the mining area. The nodes percentage of Septoglomus and Claroideoglomus and AMF phylogenetic diversity near the mining area were highest. AMF responded to the mining disturbance via the variety and evolution strategy of flora. Furthermore, AMF and soil fungal communities were significantly correlated with edaphic properties and parameters. Soil available phosphorus (AP) was the main influencer of soil AMF and fungal communities. These findings evaluated the risk range of coal mining on AMF and soil fungal communities and elucidated the microbial response strategy to mining disturbance.

Abstract
In VANETs, owing to the openness of wireless communication, it is necessary to change pseudonyms frequently to realize the unlinkability of vehicle identity. Moreover, identity authentication is needed, which is usually completed by digital certificates or a trusted third party. The storage and the communication overhead are high. This paper proposes a triple pseudonym authentication scheme for VANETs based on the Cuckoo Filter and Paillier homomorphic encryption (called TriNymAuth). TriNymAuth applies Paillier homomorphic encryption, a Cuckoo Filter combining filter-level and bucket-level, and a triple pseudonym (homomorphic pseudonym, local pseudonym, and virtual pseudonym) authentication to the vehicle identity authentication scheme. It reduces the dependence on a trusted third party and ensures the privacy and security of vehicle identity while improving authentication efficiency. Experimental results show that the insert overhead of the Cuckoo Filter is about 10 μs, and the query overhead reaches the ns level. Furthermore, TriNymAuth has significant cost advantages, with an OBU enrollment cost of only 0.884 ms. When the data rate in VANETs dr≤ 180 kbps, TriNymAuth has the smallest total transmission delay cost and is suitable for shopping malls and other places with dense traffic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) induce long-lasting infections that cause cervical cancer. This study evaluated the prevalence of HPV infections and the distribution of their genotypes among clinic patients and healthy women in Beijing, China. METHODS Cervical specimens were collected from 12,100 patients and 1176 subjects who underwent physical examinations at Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, between March 2016 and September 2020. HPV genotyping was performed using commercial kits designed to detect 15 high-risk and 2 low-risk HPV genotypes. RESULTS There was a higher overall prevalence of HPV among the clinic patients (21.0%) than among the healthy women (11.9%). The most common HPV genotypes among the patients were: HPV-52 (5.4%), HPV-16 (3.4%), HPV-58 (3.2%), HPV-51 (2.6%), HPV-39 (2.0%), HPV-56 (2.0%), and HPV-66 (2.0%). Among the healthy women: HPV-52 (3.0%), HPV-51 (1.8%), HPV-58 (1.6%), HPV-66 (1.5%), HPV-16 (1.2%), HPV-56 (1.2%), and HPV-18 (1.1%). Multiple HPVs were detected in 29.1% of the gynecological outpatients and in 23.6% of the women receiving physical examinations. The most common pairs of HPV types detected were HPV-52 and HPV-16 in the clinic patients, and HPV-52 and HPV-56 in the healthy women. Age-specific HPV positivity and peak prevalence were observed among the individuals in both groups for women aged less than 25 years and those between 61 and 65 years of age. CONCLUSIONS Our results provide current estimates of HPV prevalence and genotypes in the Beijing region. The epidemiological characteristics observed also provide a reference for the development of cervical cancer screening strategies and selection of HPV vaccine antigen targets for this region. A comparison of these HPV prevalence data with those from other regions suggests that regional vaccines may be an important direction for future research.

The LPG coupling the fundamental core mode to the forward propagating cladding modes according to the phase-matching condition not only enhances the evanescent field of the fiber but also selectively excites the WGM in a wavelength band of interest. Experimental results show that a maximum resonance contrast as high as 10.5 dB and a quality factor (Q-factor) on the order of 104 can be achieved in an LPG coupled spherical silica WGM resonator with a diameter of 242 µm, where the LPG with a pitch of 680 µm is fabricated by arc-discharging in a side-polished D-fiber with a maximum polishing depth of 56 µm. In addition to high robustness and efficiency, such an LPG-based WGM coupler also demonstrates bidirectionality, i.e., it is independent of the injection direction of the input light, which provides a reliable and flexible fiber coupler for the WGM resonator based practical applications.

Abstract
A submetric spatial resolution Raman optical time-domain reflectometry (ROTDR) temperature sensor assisted by the Wiener deconvolution postprocessing algorithm has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Without modifying the typical configuration of the ROTDR sensor and the adopted pump pulse width, the Wiener demodulation algorithm is able to recover temperature perturbations of a smaller spatial scale by deconvoluting the acquired Stokes and anti-Stokes signals. Numerical simulations have been conducted to analyze the spatial resolution achieved by the algorithm. Assisted by the algorithm, a typical ROTDR sensor adopting pump pulses of 20 ns width can realize the distributed temperature sensing with a spatial resolution of 0.5 m and temperature accuracy of 1.99 °C over a 2.1-km sensing fiber.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is scant data on the association of the Pulsed wave-Doppler tissue imaging (PW-DTI)-derived tricuspid lateral annular peak systolic velocity (S') and poor short-term prognosis of patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). PATIENTS AND METHODS A total number of 732 participants from the Heb-ADHF registry in China were divided into three groups according to the corresponding status of tricuspid S'. Demographic characteristics, comorbidities, physical examinations, lab tests, and medications were compared among the different groups. Different logistic regression models were utilized to gauge the relationship between S' and the risk of a composite of short-term all-cause mortality or 30-day heart failure (HF)-related rehospitalization. RESULTS The number of composite outcome events identified in the study population was 85, with the short-term all-cause death coupled with 30-day HF readmission events reaching 23 and 62, respectively. As per the multivariable adjusted analysis, S' was inversely related to the risk of a composite outcome [<10 cm/s odds ratios (OR) 2.90, 95% confidence interval (CI):1.33-6.31; 10-11 cm/s OR 2.18, 95% CI: 1.10-4.33; p for trend = 0.006] in comparison with S' at >11 cm/s. When S' was analysed as a continuous variable, per 1 cm/s increase, the OR (95% CI) for a composite outcome was [0.87 (0.77-0.99), p = 0.028]. Area under curve (AUC) of S' for predicting outcome of ADHF was 0.631 (95%CI: 0.573-0.690, p < 0.01). Significant inverse association was also observed in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≥40% subgroup. CONCLUSIONS Inspite of the potential confounders, a more impaired tricuspid annular peak systolic velocity is associated with a poorer short-term prognosis of patients with ADHF.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cystic hygroma (CH) is a relatively common observation in prenatal ultrasounds; however, there are few studies about copy number variations (CNVs) of fetuses with CH. METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis on 40 pregnant patients (out of 8000 pregnant patients) whose fetuses had CH from November 2016 to June 2021. Villus, amniotic fluid, or umbilical cord blood samples were collected, based on the corresponding gestational age, for karyotype analysis and single-nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array). RESULTS Among the 40 fetuses with CH, 16 (40.0%, 16/40) exhibited isolated CH and 24 (60.0%, 24/40) exhibited CH combined with other ultrasound abnormalities. The most common CH-comorbid ultrasound abnormalities observed in this study were congenital heart disease (25.0%, 6/24), thickened nuchal translucency (20.8%, 5/24), and fetal edema (12.5%, 3/24). Karyotype and SNP-array analysis resulted in an overall detection rate of 30.0% (12/40). Karyotype analysis led to the detection of eight cases of pathogenic CNVs, among which 45, X was the most common. In addition to the above pathogenic CNV, four additional cases were detected by SNP-array. There was no significant difference in the observed pathogenic CNVs between isolated CH and CH combined with other ultrasound (31.3% vs 29.2%, P > .99). Karyotype analysis and SNP-array results influence whether parents terminate the pregnancy. When genetic abnormalities are detected in the fetus, the parents often choose to terminate the pregnancy. CONCLUSIONS Our study emphasizes that genomic examination should be performed on fetuses with CH to confirm the etiology as soon as possible. During genetic counseling, all fetal characteristics should be carefully and comprehensively evaluated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Early and intermediate serological screening cannot detect sex chromosome abnormalities. Currently, noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is the only procedure available for screening such disorders; however, its use is controversial. METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 47,855 pregnant women underwent NIPT at our referral center from January 2014 to December 2020. Of the 314 patients with a positive NIPT indicating sex chromosome abnormalities, 260 were screened via karyotype analysis and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array after amniotic fluid extraction; 96 cases were confirmed. Karyotype analysis and SNP array were consistent in the diagnosis of 88 out of the 96 fetuses. The positive predictive value (PPV) for sex chromosome abnormalities was found to be 36.9%. The PPV in patients aged 30-34 years was significantly higher than that in patients aged < 30 years. No statistically significant difference was observed on the PPV among patients with or without previous adverse pregnancy outcomes. Moreover, 83 women carrying fetuses were diagnosed with a sex chromosome abnormality terminated their pregnancy. CONCLUSIONS Improvements in detection and analytical technologies are needed to increase the accuracy of sex chromosome abnormalities detection. Pregnant women with a positive NIPT for these abnormalities may require invasive diagnostic procedures such as karyotype analysis and SNP array for better genetic counseling.

Abstract
Willows (Salix spp.) are promising extractors of cadmium (Cd), with fast growth, high biomass production, and high Cd accumulation capacity. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying Cd uptake and detoxification are currently poorly understood. Analysis of the Cd uptake among 30 willow genotypes in hydroponic systems showed that the S. suchowensis and S. integra hybrids, Jw8-26 and Jw9-6, exhibited distinct Cd accumulation and resistance characteristics. Jw8-26 was a high Cd-accumulating and tolerant willow, while Jw9-6 was a low Cd-accumulating and relatively Cd-intolerant willow. Therefore, these two genotypes were ideal specimens for determining the molecular mechanisms of Cd uptake and detoxification. To identify relevant genes in Cd handling, the parent S. suchowensis was treated with Cd and RNA-seq analysis was performed. SsIRT, SsHMA, and SsGST, in addition to the transcription factors SsERF, SsMYB, and SsZAT were identified as being associated with Cd uptake and resistance. Because membrane-localised heavy metal transporters mediate Cd transfer to plant tissues, a total of 17 SsIRT and 12 SsHMA family members in S. suchowensis were identified. Subsequently, a thorough bioinformatics analysis of the SsIRT and SsHMA families was conducted, and their transcript levels were analysed in the roots of the two hybrids. The transcript levels of SsIRT9 in roots were positively correlated with the observed differences in Cd accumulation in Jw8-26 versus Jw9-6. Jw8-26 displayed higher SsIRT9 expression levels and higher Cd accumulation than Jw9-6; therefore, SsIRT9 may be involved in Cd uptake. Gene expression analysis also revealed that SsHMA1 was a candidate gene associated with Cd resistance. These results lay the foundation for understanding the molecular mechanism of Cd transfer and detoxification in willows, and provide guidance for the screening and breeding of high Cd-accumulating and tolerant willow genotypes via genetic engineering.

Abstract
Aim: It has been found that the co-administration of nifedipine with apatinib could cause exposure changes of nifedipine in vivo. But, whether this pharmacokinetic drug-drug interaction (DDI) between nifedipine and apatinib could enhance the antihypertensive effect of nifedipine, causing sever changes of blood pressure was unknown. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to conduct the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modelling to evaluate the effect of pharmacokinetic changes on the antihypertensive effect of nifedipine. Thus, the results could guide the co-administration of these two drugs in clinic. Methods: A physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model was first developed for nifedipine. The pharmacokinetic DDI between nifedipine and apatinib was evaluated. Then the verified PBPK models were linked to a PD model for investigating whether the exposure changes of nifedipine could cause severe changes in blood pressure. Furthermore, the changes in blood pressure caused by combination with apatinib were also assessed in patients with hepatic impairment via the PBPK/PD models. Results: The predicted area under plasma concentration-time profile (AUC), maximum concentration (Cmax), area under effect-time profile (AUE), and maximum reduction in systolic blood pressure (Rmax) are all within 0.5–2.0-fold of the observed data, indicating that the PBPK/PD models for nifedipine are successfully established. The increases of predicted AUC and Cmax of nifedipine in the presence of apatinib are 1.73 and 1.41-fold, respectively. Co-administration of nifedipine with apatinib could cause exposure changes of nifedipine in vivo. However, the predicted AUE and Rmax changes of nifedipine in the presence to the absence of apatinib in cancer patients as well as in patients with hepatic impairment are all within 1.25-fold. The results indicate that the exposure changes of nifedipine caused by combination of apatinib has little effect on the changes of systolic blood pressure both in cancer patients and patients with hepatic impairment. Conclusion: The pharmacokinetic changes of nifedipine caused by co-administration with apatinib has little impact on the antihypertensive effect of nifedipine. Apatinib is unlikely to cause severe pharmacodynamic DDI via inhibition of CYP3A4. It is suggested that nifedipine could be used in combination with apatinib without dose adjustment in clinic.

Abstract
Rhabdomyolysis is a life-threatening syndrome associated with direct or indirect muscle damage that is rarely reported with dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 inhibitors. Here we presented a case in which a 58-year-old female suffered from severe swelling and pain in bilateral lower limbs and oliguria after a suicidal vildagliptin overdose. Drug-induced rhabdomyolysis and drug-induced liver injury were diagnosed based on laboratory and radiological findings. The patient was treated with fluid resuscitation, insulin, electrolyte replacement, diuretics, urine alkalizing agents, anticoagulants, antioxidants, and 24-h bedside ECG monitoring and suicide prevention. After 20 days of hospitalization and close monitoring, the patient was discharged without sequelae. Risk factors, diagnostic criteria, disease mechanisms, and outcomes were also discussed. This case illustrated that overdose of oral anti-diabetic medications may result in clinically significant adverse events, such as rhabdomyolysis in this case with a DPP-4 inhibitor. Although the incidence is low, special attention should be paid to intentional or accidental exposure to anti-diabetic medications during suicide attempts, especially in depressed patients with diabetes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To examine the extent of hospital-level variation in risk-adjusted rates of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS We performed a cross-sectional study examining live births in 257 California hospitals between 2011 and 2015 using linked birth certificate and maternal discharge data. PPH was measured using International Classification of Diseases Codes version 9. Mixed-effects logistic regression models were used to examine the presence and extent of hospital-level variation in PPH before and after adjustment for patient-level risk factors and select hospital characteristics (teaching status and annual delivery volume). Risk-adjusted rates of PPH were estimated for each hospital. The extent of hospital variation was evaluated using the median odds ratio (MOR) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS Our study cohort comprised 1,904,479 women who had a live birth delivery hospitalization at 247 hospitals. The median, lowest, and highest hospital-specific rates of PPH were 3.48%, 0.54%, and 12.0%, respectively. Similar rates were observed after adjustment for patient and hospital factors (3.44%, 0.60%, and 11.48%). After adjustment, the proportion of the total variation in PPH rates attributable to the hospital was low, with a MOR of 2.02 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.89-2.15) and ICC of 14.3% (95% CI: 11.9%-16.3%). DISCUSSION Wide variability exists in the rate of PPH across hospitals in California, not attributable to patient factors, hospital teaching status, and hospital annual delivery volume. Determining whether differences in hospital quality of care explain the unaccounted-for variation in hospital-level PPH rates should be a public health priority.

Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of highly agglutinative staphylococcin combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy on patients with intermediate or advanced oral cancer. Methods: A total of 80 patients with intermediate or advanced oral cancer treated in Affiliated People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to January 2022 were included. Patients were divided into two groups based on their treatment choice, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given paclitaxel combined with cisplatin chemotherapy regimen: paclitaxel 150 mg/m2 and cisplatin 100 mg/m2 on Day-1, with 28 days as one cycle of chemotherapy for a total of three cycles. Patients in the experimental group received intramuscular injection of 500U highly agglutinative staphylococcin once a day for two weeks on the basis of chemotherapy, and continued the next course of treatment after 1 week of withdrawal, with a total of two courses. After treatment, the therapeutic effect, adverse drug reactions, changes in tumor markers such as CEA, NSE, CA19-9 and CA125 before and after treatment, as well as differences in levels of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and CD4+/CD8+ of T lymphocyte subsets between the two groups before and after treatment were compared and analyzed. Results: The total efficacy of the experimental group was 80%, which was significantly better than 57.5% of the control group (P=0.03). The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the experimental group was 17.5%, while that in the control group was 42.5%, showing a statistically significant difference (P=0.02), and the WBC count decreased more significantly in the control group (P=0.04). CEA, NSE, CA19-9 and CA125 decreased significantly in the experimental group after treatment compared with the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P=0.00). Moreover, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ in the experimental group after treatment were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (CD3+, P=0.03; CD4+, P=0.00; CD4+/CD8+, P=0.00), while CD8+ did not change significantly (P=0.95). Conclusions: Highly agglutinative staphylococcin combined with chemotherapy is a safe and effective treatment regimen with definite curative effect for patients with intermediate or advanced oral cancer. With such a regimen, tumor markers are remarkably reduced, immune function can be significantly improved, and adverse reactions will be evidently reduced.

Abstract
Background Few prognostic risk scores (PRSs) have been routinely used in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). We, therefore, externally validated three published PRSs (3A3B, AHEAD, and OPTIME-CHF) and derived a new PRS to predict the short-term prognosis in ADHF. Methods A total of 4550 patients from the Heb-ADHF registry in China were randomly divided into the derivation and validation cohorts (3:2). Discrimination of each PRS was assessed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC). Logistic regression was exploited to select the predictors and create the new PRS. The Hosmer–Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test was used to assess the calibration of the new PRS. Results The AUROCs of the 3A3B, AHEAD, and OPTIME-CHF score in the derivation cohort were 0.55 (95% CI 0.53–0.57), 0.54 (95% CI 0.53–0.56), and 0.56 (95% CI 0.54–0.57), respectively. After logistic regression analysis, the new PRS computed as 1 × (diastolic blood pressure < 80 mmHg) + 2 × (lymphocyte > 1.11 × 109/L) + 1 × (creatinine > 80 μmol/L) + 2 × (blood urea nitrogen > 21 mg/dL) + 1 × [BNP 500 to < 1500 pg/mL (NT-proBNP 2500 to < 7500 pg/mL)] or 3 × [BNP ≥ 1500 (NT-proBNP ≥ 7500) pg/mL] + 3 × (QRS fraction of electrocardiogram < 55%) + 4 × (ACEI/ARB not used) + 1 × (rhBNP used), with a better AUROC of 0.67 (95% CI 0.64–0.70) and a good calibration (Hosmer–Lemeshow χ2 = 3.366, P = 0.186). The results in validation cohort verified these findings. Conclusions The short-term prognostic values of 3A3B, AHEAD, and OPTIME-CHF score in ADHF patients were all poor, while the new PRS exhibited potential predictive ability. We demonstrated the QRS fraction of electrocardiogram as a novel predictor for the short-term outcomes of ADHF for the first time. Our findings might help to recognize high-risk ADHF patients.
