Abstract
Maternal supply of methyl donors such as methionine (Met) during late pregnancy can affect offspring growth and development. The objective was to investigate the effect of postruminal Met supply during late pregnancy on 1-carbon, Met cycle, and transsulfuration pathways in the calf liver. During the last 28 d of pregnancy, cows were individually fed a control diet or the control diet plus rumen-protected dl-Met (MET; 0.09% dry matter intake). Liver samples obtained from calves (n = 14/group) at 4, 14, 28, and 50 d of age were used for metabolomics, real-time PCR, and enzyme activity analyses. Genes associated with 1-carbon metabolism, DNA methylation, and the cytidine 5'-diphosphocholine-choline pathway were analyzed via real-time PCR. Activity of betaine homocysteine methyltransferase, cystathionine β-synthase, and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate homocysteine methyltransferase (MTR) was analyzed using 14C isotopes. Data were analyzed using a mixed model that included the fixed effects of maternal treatment, day, and their interaction, and the random effect was calf within maternal diet. Calves born to dams offered MET tended to have greater birth body weight and had overall greater body weight during the first 9 wk of life. However, no differences were detected for daily feed intake and average daily gain between groups. Concentrations of betaine and choline, reflecting Met cycle activity, at d 14 through 28 were greater in MET calves. Transsulfuration pathway intermediates also were altered in MET calves, with concentrations of cysteine sulfinic acid and hypotaurine (d 4 and 14) and taurine being greater (d 4, 14, 28, and 50). Despite the lack of differences in daily feed intake, the greater concentrations of the tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates fumarate and glutamate along with NAD/NADH in MET calves indicated enhanced rates of energy metabolism. Although activity of betaine homocysteine methyltransferase was greater in MET calves at d 14, cystathionine β-synthase was lower and increased at d 14 and 28, where it was greater compared with the control diet. Activity of MTR was lower at d 4 and 50 in MET calves. Among gene targets measured, MET calves had greater overall expression of MTR, phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase, and choline kinase α and β. An interaction of maternal diet by time was detected for mRNA abundance of DNA methyltransferase 3α (involved in de novo methylation) due to greater values at d 4 and 14 in MET calves. Overall, the data indicate that enhanced postruminal supply of Met to cows during late pregnancy may program hepatic metabolism of the calf in the context of maintaining Met homeostasis, phosphatidylcholine and taurine synthesis, DNA methylation, and energy metabolism. These alterations potentially result in better efficiency of nutrient use, hence conferring the calf a physiologic advantage during a period of rapid growth and development. The precise biologic mechanisms remain to be established.

Abstract
Occupational chromium rhinopathy is chronic nasal damage caused by chromic anhydride, chromate and dichromate 6-valent chromium compounds. In 2016, 700 people who were exposed to chromium slag in steel plant were checked out. 24 people were found to have nasal injuries. The expert group confirmed 1 case of occupational severe chromium rhinosis and 23 cases of occupational mild chromium rhinosis.There was no significant difference in the incidence, type of work and duration of injury among 24 patients (P>0.05) . Active measures should be taken to prevent chromium rhinopathy and the technological process should be reformed. Occupational health education and occupational health monitoring should be strengthened to avoid exposure of chromium and its compounds through nose and respiratory tract, and to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of chromium rhinosis.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the change of hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis hormones and it's role in depression in obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome. Methods: Seventy-three male OSAHS patients [age (39±11) years] and 13 male controls [age (36±7.5) years] were enrolled from August 2013 to May 2017 in the 1(st) Hospital of China Medical University. Overnight polysomnography and depression were assessed. The serum TRH, TSH, FT4 and FT3 levels were measured on the next morning. The relationship between depression and hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis was analyzed. Results: Compared with the control group, severe hypoxia group had higher serum FT3 level [(4.5±0.6) ng/L vs. (5.4±0.7)ng/L, P<0.05)] and depression score (30±7 vs. 40±10, P<0.05). Further analysis revealed that serum FT3 level (5.0±0.5 ng/L vs. 5.5±0.7ng/L, P<0.05) and FT4 level [(16.2±1.9) ng/L vs. (18.2±2.3) ng/L, P<0.05] were lower in the patients with depression than those without. Conclusion: The decrease of serum FT3 and FT4 levels in OSAHS patients with severe hypoxia was closely related to the occurrence of depression.

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to determine whether plane of nutrition (PON) of milk replacer previously provided to calves, and dosage level of Mannheimia haemolytica (MH), influenced inflammatory responses to a combined viral-bacterial respiratory challenge. Holstein calves (1 d of age; n = 30) were assigned to treatments in a 2 × 3 factorial with pre-weaning PON and MH dose as main effects (n = 5 per treatment). Calves were fed either a low (LPN; n = 15) or a high PON (HPN; n = 15) from birth through weaning. Calves fed LPN were fed 436 g of dry matter (DM) per day of milk replacer until weaning, and HPN calves were fed 797 g of DM per day of milk replacer from d 1 to 10 and 1,080 g of DM per day from d 11 until weaning. Calf starter and water were offered ad libitum. Calves were step-down weaned beginning at d 54 and moved into an enclosed barn at d 70. Indwelling rectal temperature (RT) recording devices and jugular catheters were inserted at d 80. Calves were challenged with 1.5 × 108 plaque-forming units (pfu) per mL of bovine herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) in each nostril at d 81 and with either 106, 107, or 108 cfu of MH at d 84. Blood samples were collected at varying intervals relative to BHV-1 and MH challenges. Four LPN calves either died or were euthanized soon after the 144-h observation period, whereas all HPN calves survived the entire observation period. As dosage of MH administered increased, acute and systemic inflammatory responses increased. Higher doses of MH resulted in increased leukocyte, neutrophil, and haptoglobin concentrations in infected calves. Data from the current study suggest that the highest dose, 108 cfu, triggered weaned calves' acute disease response, whereas the lower doses, 106 and 107 cfu, caused more moderate inflammation and disease. The effects of PON on inflammation responses to the disease challenge indicated that calves previously fed the LPN diet had more severe pathophysiological responses. Calves fed LPN showed higher peripheral neutrophil and leukocyte counts and serum haptoglobin concentrations following the BHV-1 challenge. Additionally, following the MH challenge, LPN calves had higher peripheral neutrophil counts, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratios, and serum tumor necrosis factor-α concentrations. These data demonstrate that higher doses of MH increase the acute inflammatory response and prolong inflammation, and that calves previously fed LPN responded more severely to the combined viral-bacterial respiratory challenge.

Abstract
Elucidation of the pig microRNAome is essential for interpreting functional elements of the genome and understanding the genetic architecture of complex traits. Here, we extracted small RNAs from skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, and we compared their expression levels between one Western breed (Yorkshire) and seven indigenous Chinese breeds. We detected the expression of 172 known porcine microRNAs (miRNAs) and 181 novel miRNAs. Differential expression analysis found 92 and 12 differentially expressed miRNAs in adipose and muscle tissue respectively. We found that different Chinese breeds shared common directional miRNA expression changes compared to Yorkshire pigs. Some miRNAs differentially expressed across multiple Chinese breeds, including ssc-miR-129-5p, ssc-miR-30 and ssc-miR-150, are involved in adipose tissue function. Functional enrichment analysis revealed that the target genes of the differentially expressed miRNAs are associated mainly with signaling pathways rather than metabolic and biosynthetic processes. The miRNA-target gene and miRNA-phenotypic traits networks identified many hub miRNAs that regulate a large number of target genes or phenotypic traits. Specifically, we found that intramuscular fat content is regulated by the greatest number of miRNAs in muscle tissue. This study provides valuable new candidate miRNAs that will aid in the improvement of meat quality and production.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between anthropometric indices and the incident risk of hypertension, compare novel anthropometric indices with traditional indices in hypertension prediction and establish hypertension prediction models among elderly Chinese. Methods: A total of 27 009 retirees from the Dongfeng Motor Corporation were recruited at baseline in 2008 and the first follow-up was conducted in 2013. After the exclusion of participants less than 60 years old, participants with hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, cancer, and those with missing data, a total of 6 784 elderly participants were enrolled in this study. A multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between traditional anthropometric indices, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), novel anthropometric indices, visceral adiposity index (VAI), body shape index (ABSI), body roundness index (BRI), and the incident risk of hypertension. Meanwhile, a multivariate logistic regression model was used to establish hypertension prediction models. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was applied to compare the prediction ability of different models. Results: A total of 1 787 incident cases of hypertension were identified, with the incidence of hypertension about 27.59%. Significant positive associations were detected between BMI, WC, WHtR, VAI, BRI and the incident risk of hypertension after adjusting for potential confounders (all P values<0.05). In men, the OR (95%CI) (upper tertile vs lower tertile) was 1.45 (1.22-1.73) for VAI, and 1.86 (1.55-2.23) for BRI. In women, the OR (95% CI) (upper tertile vs lower tertile) was 1.55 (1.22-1.96) for VAI, and 1.60 (1.27-2.01) for BRI. For ABSI, no significant association was observed in either men (OR (95%CI): 1.07 (0.90-1.28)) or women (OR (95%CI): 1.03 (0.82-1.29), both P values >0.05). The basic hypertension prediction model included age, drinking (only in men), education status (only in men), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and fasting blood glucose levels. Based on the basic prediction model, BMI (in men: AUC=0.697) and BRI (only in men: AUC=0.696) improved area under ROC curve (AUC) significantly (P<0.05). BMI was the strongest predictor in both men (AUC=0.697) and women (AUC=0.685) in the extended model. Conclusion: Significant positive associations were detected between BMI, WC, WHtR, VAI, BRI and the incident risk of hypertension among elderly Chinese. BMI was the strongest predictor in hypertension prediction model compared with other anthropometric indices.

Abstract
DNase I hypersensitive sites (DHSs) are associated with regulatory DNA elements, so their good understanding is significant for both the biomedical research and the discovery of new drugs. Traditional experimental methods are laborious, time consuming and an inaccurately task to detect DHSs. More importantly, with the avalanche of genome sequences in the postgenomic age, it is highly essential to develop cost-effective computational approaches to identify DHSs. In this paper, we develop a statistical feature extraction model using the detrended moving-average cross-correlation (DMCA) coefficient descriptor based on dinucleotide property matrix generated by the 15 DNA dinucleotide properties, and this model is named iDHS-DMCAC. A 105-dimensional feature vector is constructed for a certain window on the two class imbalanced benchmark datasets, with over-sampling and support vector machine algorithms. Rigorous cross-validations indicate that our predictor remarkably outperforms the existing models in both accuracy and stability. We anticipate that iDHS-DMCAC will become a very useful high throughput tool, or at the very least, a complementary tool to the existing methods of identifying DNase I hypersensitive sites. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of BDNF-TrKB pathway on AOH by accessing its regulatory role in retinal ganglion cell apoptosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Acute ocular hypertension (AOH) model in rats was established by anterior chamber perfusion to increase intraocular tension. Rats were randomly divided into AOH group, control group and k252a group, with ten rats in each group. Rats were sacrificed 72 h after animal procedures and eyeballs were harvested. HE staining was used to observe retinal structural changes at different time points. Immunohistochemical staining was used to observe the BDNF-positive cells in retinal tissues. TUNEL staining was conducted to measure apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells. Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot were performed to detect mRNA and protein levels of BDNF, TrKB, PI3K and ERK1 in retinal tissues, respectively. RESULTS HE and TUNEL staining showed significant pathological changes and abundant apoptotic cells in rat retina of AOH group and k252a group compared with those of the control group (p<0.05). The number of survived retinal ganglion cells in the AOH group was lower than that of the control group (p<0.05). K252a group had the lowest number of survived retinal ganglion cells. Immunohistochemical results showed that BDNF was rarely expressed in rat retinal tissues of the control group, which was remarkably pronounced in the AOH group and k252a group. The number of BDNF-positive cells in the k252a group was higher than that in the AOH group (p<0.05). RT-PCR and Western blot indicated that mRNA and protein levels of relative genes in BDNF-TrKB and PI3K/ERK1 pathways were upregulated in AOH group (p<0.05), but were significantly downregulated in k252a group (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS BNDF-TrKB pathway exerts a protective effect on retina against acute ocular hypertension by reducing retinal cell apoptosis.

Abstract
The first (v_{1}^{fluc}), second (v_{2}), and third (v_{3}) harmonic coefficients of the azimuthal particle distribution at midrapidity are extracted for charged hadrons and studied as a function of transverse momentum (p_{T}) and mean charged particle multiplicity density ⟨N_{ch}⟩ in U+U (sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV), Au+Au, Cu+Au, Cu+Cu, d+Au, and p+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV with the STAR detector. For the same ⟨N_{ch}⟩, the v_{1}^{fluc} and v_{3} coefficients are observed to be independent of the collision system, while v_{2} exhibits such a scaling only when normalized by the initial-state eccentricity (ϵ_{2}). The data also show that ln(v_{2}/ϵ_{2}) scales linearly with ⟨N_{ch}⟩^{-1/3}. These measurements provide insight into initial-geometry fluctuations and the role of viscous hydrodynamic attenuation on v_{n} from small to large collision systems.

Abstract
Enhancing the supply of rumen-protected Met (RPM) during the peripartum period alleviates inflammation and oxidative stress status in dairy cows. We tested the hypothesis that RPM could increase abundance of genes and proteins related to glutathione (GSH) metabolism and the antioxidant transcription factor nuclear factor erythroid 2-like 2 (NFE2L2) in subcutaneous adipose tissue. Multiparous Holstein cows were fed a basal diet [control prepartum diet = 1.47 Mcal/kg of dry matter (DM) and 15.3% crude protein; control postpartum diet = 1.67 Mcal/kg of DM and 17.7% crude protein] or the control plus ethyl-cellulose RPM at a rate of 0.09 and 0.10% of DM intake before expected calving and after calving, respectively. Sixty cows were assigned to treatments based on parity, previous 305-d milk yield, and body condition score at 28 d from parturition. Diets were fed from -28 to 30 d. Biopsies of subcutaneous adipose tissue collected on d -10, 10, and 30 relative to parturition from 7 cows in each group were used for measuring concentrations of GSH, reactive oxygen species, superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, and mRNA and protein abundance (Western blotting). A repeated-measures ANOVA was used for statistics. The statistical model included the random effect of block and fixed effects of treatment, time, and its interaction. There was a diet × time effect for reactive oxygen species due to lower concentrations in Met versus control cows specifically at d -10. Cows fed Met also had lower concentrations of malondialdehyde in subcutaneous adipose tissue. Compared with controls, overall mRNA abundance of the GSH metabolism-related genes cystathionine-β-synthase (CBS), glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit (GCLM), glutathione reductase (GSR), and glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) was greater in cows fed Met. Furthermore, supply of Met resulted in an overall upregulation of protein abundance of glutathione peroxidase (GPX) 1, GPX3, glutathione S-transferase mu 1 (GSTM1), and glutathione S-transferase α 4 (GSTA4), all related to GSH metabolism. There was a diet × time effect for protein abundance of NFE2L2 and its repressor Kelch-like ECH associated protein 1 (KEAP1) due to lower values at 30 d in cows fed Met versus controls. The abundance of phosphorylated NFE2L2 was lower at 30 d in response to Met. Overall, the data suggest that exogenous Met may play a role in activating GSH metabolism and the antioxidant NFE2L2 pathways in subcutaneous adipose tissue.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of rapid hepatitis B vaccination with different vaccine dosages and types in adults. Methods: Adults who were aged ≥20 years, negative in the detections of 5 HBV serum markers or only anti-HBc positive were selected from Chaoyang district of Beijing. They were divided into 4 community-based specific groups and given three doses of 10 μg HepB-SCY vaccine, 20 μg HepB-SCY vaccine, 20 μg HepB-CHO vaccine and 10 μg HepB-HPY vaccine respectively at month 0, 1, and 2. Their blood samples were collected within 1-2 months after completing the three dose vaccination to test anti-HBs level by using chemiluminesent microparticle immunoassay. A face to face questionnaire survey was conducted, and χ(2) test, Mantel- Haensel χ(2) test, Kruskal-Wallis rank test and multiple logistic regression analysis were performed. Results: A total of 1 772 participants completed vaccination and observation. Their average age was 48.5 years, and 62.75% of them were females. The anti-HBs positive rates in the groups of 10 μg HepB-SCY, 20 μg HepB-SCY, 20 μg HepB-CHO and 10 μg HepB-HPY vaccines were 79.49%, 84.34%, 82.50% and 74.15%, respectively (P=0.005), and the geometric mean titers (GMT) were39.53 mIU/ml, 62.37 mIU/ml, 48.18 mIU/ml and 33.64 mIU/ml respectively (P=0.025). The overall anti-HBs positive rate and GMT were 79.01% and 41.18 mIU/ml. The anti-HBs GMT of 4 groups declined with age. The differences in anti-HBs GMT among 4 groups minimized with age. The result of logistic modeling indicated that vaccine type and dosage, age and smoking were associated with anti-HBs statistically after controlling the variables of"only anti-HBc positive or not"and"history of hepatitis B vaccination". Conclusion: Hepatitis B vaccination at dosage of 20 μg based on 0-1-2 month rapid schedule could achieved anti-HBs positive rates>80% in middle aged and old people, which can be used as supplement of 0-1-6 month routine schedule.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical and genetic characteristics of a Chinese boy with Verheij syndrome and review the literature. Methods: The clinical and genetic data of a Chinese boy with Verheij syndrome, who was admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in May 2017 were analyzed. Original papers on Verheij syndrome published up to January 2018 were retrieved at PubMed, Human Gene Mutation Database (HGMD), Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM), CNKI and WanFang databases by using the key words "Verheij syndrome" and "PUF60" . Results: The male patient (at the age of 14 years and 3 months) visited us because of growth retardation for 13 years. Atrial septal defect was repaired at the age 3. Congenital amblyopia and hyperopia were diagnosed at the age 4. On physical examination, serious growth retardation and delayed psychomotor development was noted. His height was 142.5 cm (-3.26 SDS). He had poor academic performance at school. Facial features included: webbed neck, hypertelorism, down-slanting palpebral fissures, long philtrum, thin upper lip, and high palate. Palmar crease was found in the right hand. His bone age was 10 years. Growth hormone stimulation test indicated partial growth hormone deficiency (growth hormone (GH) peak 6.63 μg/L). The level of insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF1) and insulin like growth factor binding protein 3 (IGFBP3) was lower than normal, 73.20 μg/L and 2 500 μg/L respectively. Abdominal ultrasound showed that the volumes of bilateral kidneys were small. The size of the left and right kidney was 8.5 cm × 3.3 cm and 8.4 cm × 4.3 cm respectively. Karyotype was normal (46, XY). MRI of pituitary showed partial empty sella turcica. Ten genes associated with Noonan syndrome (PTPN11, SOS1, RASA2, KRAS, RAF1, NRAS, SHOC2, BRAF, RIT1, A2ML1) were analyzed and no genetic mutations were found. Whole exome-sequencing analysis identified a de novo heterozygous frame shift mutation of PUF60 gene (c.931_934del, P.P.T 311Qfs*47). According to ACMG guidelines in 2015, the mutation is pathogenic and has not been reported in the above databases. Conclusions: This is the first case report of Verheij syndrome caused by mutation of PUF60 gene in Chinese population. It is difficult to discriminate Verheij syndrome from Noonan syndrome, both have clinical manifestations such as severe growth retardation, psychomotor retardation, and congenital heart disease. In addition to Noonan syndrome, PUF60 genetic analysis was recommended for avoiding missed diagnosis with such clinical manifestations of patients.

Abstract
Objective: To determine whether asthma has a different metabolic glycerophospholipid profile in serum between women and men with asthma. Methods: Fifty-one outpatients with asthma (17 men, 34 women) were enrolled from Peking University Third Hospital from Jan 2015 to Dec 2015. Clinical data such as gender, age, body mass index, pulmonary function were recorded. Glycerophospholipid profile were measured in serum using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics analysis. Projections to latent structures-discriminate analysis (PLS-DA) was used to compare the differences of glycerophospholipid level between men and women. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) Curve was established from men and women. Results: Significantly different glycerophospholipid level were confirmed quantitatively between women and men. Levels of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylcholine acetal phospholipid (PCP), lysophosphatidyl ethanolamine (LPE), alkyl phosphatidylethanolamine [PE(O)] were significantly higher in women relative to men [PE36: 2, PCP32: 1, LPE18: 0, and PE(O40: 7) was 0.050 (0.037, 0.079) vs 0.043 (0.000, 0.071), 0.057 (0.035, 0.727) vs 0.034 (0.000, 0.057), 0.233 (0.129, 0.390) vs 0.126 (0.075, 0.212), 0.007(0.000, 0.041) vs 0.000 (0.000, 0.000), respectively, all P<0.05). Levels of lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), lysophosphatidylserine (LPS), and lysophosphatidylphosphatidylcholine [LPC(O)] were significantly lower in women compared to men [Levels of LPS22: 6, LPS20: 4, and LPS18: 1 were 0.000(0.000, 0.003) vs 0.009(0.000, 0.012), 0.015(0.010, 0.026) vs 0.047(0.022, 0.081), 0.008(0.003, 0.179) vs 0.020(0.008, 0.040), respectively, all P<0.05]. Area Under ROC Curve (AUC) of LPS (LPS20: 4) was 0.814. Conclusions: Glycerophospholipid levels in serum are significantly different between women and men asthmatic patients. LPS may contribute to gender based differences in asthmatics.

Abstract
The main objective was to evaluate the effect of increasing the supply of Met around parturition on abundance and phosphorylation of insulin- and mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1)-related signaling proteins along with mRNA abundance of milk protein and fat synthesis-related genes in postpartal mammary tissue. A basal control diet (control) or the basal diet plus ethyl-cellulose rumen-protected Met (0.9 g/kg of dry matter intake; Mepron, Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH, Hanau-Wolfgang, Germany) were fed (n = 30 cows/diet) from d -28 to 60 relative to parturition. Mammary tissue and blood plasma were harvested from the same cows (n = 5/diet) in the control and Met groups at d 21 postpartum for mRNA, protein, and AA analysis. Increasing the supply of Met led to greater milk protein percentage and milk yield along with greater ratio of phosphorylated (p-)AKT to total AKT. The ratio of p-mTORC1 to total mTORC1 did not differ, but ratio of p-RPS6 to total ribosomal protein S6 (RPS6) was lower in response to Met supply. These responses were associated with greater mRNA abundance of the signaling proteins Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) and insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1). Greater Met supply also upregulated mRNA abundance of high-affinity cationic (SLC7A1) and sodium-coupled AA transporters (SLC38A1, SLC38A2); leucyl-tRNA (LARS), valyl-tRNA (VARS), and isoleucyl-tRNA synthetases (IARS); glucose transport solute carrier family 2 member 3 (SLC2A1); glucose transport solute carrier family 2 member 3 (SLC2A3); and casein α-s1 (CSN1S1). The mRNA abundance of components of the unfolded protein response, such as x-box binding protein 1 (XBP1) and activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6), were upregulated, and protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 15A (PPP1R15A) was downregulated in response to greater Met supply. Overall, the data suggest that increased dry matter intake, greater phosphorylation status of AKT, upregulation of glucose and AA transporters, and transcripts of tRNases in response to enhanced Met supply might have compensated for a reduction in ribosome biogenesis due to a lower ratio of p-RPS6 to total RPS6. Together, these cellular responses constitute a mechanism whereby Met supply can regulate milk protein synthesis in early lactation.

Abstract
Enhanced postruminal supply of Met during the periparturient period increases dry matter intake and milk yield. In nonruminants, adipose tissue is responsive to AA supply, and can use AA as fuels or for protein synthesis regulated in part via insulin and mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling. Whether enhancing supply of Met has an effect on insulin and mTOR pathways in adipose tissue in peripartal cows is unknown. Multiparous Holstein cows were assigned from -28 to 60 d relative to parturition to a basal diet (control; 1.47 Mcal/kg of dry matter and 15.3% crude protein prepartum; 1.67 Mcal/kg and 17.7% crude protein postpartum) or the control plus ethyl-cellulose rumen-protected Met (RPM). The RPM was fed individually at a rate of 0.09% of dry matter intake prepartum and 0.10% postpartum. Subcutaneous adipose tissue harvested at -10, 10, and 30 d relative to parturition (days in milk) was used for quantitative PCR and Western blotting. A glucose tolerance test was performed at -12 and 12 d in milk to evaluate insulin sensitivity. Area under the curve for glucose in the pre- and postpartum tended to be smaller in cows fed Met. Enhanced Met supply led to greater overall mRNA abundance of Gln (SLC38A1), Glu (SLC1A1), l-type AA (Met, Leu, Val, Phe; SLC3A2), small zwitterionic α-AA (SLC36A1), and neutral AA (SLC1A5) transporters. Abundance of AKT1, RPS6KB1, and EIF4EBP1 was also upregulated in response to Met. A diet × day interaction was observed for protein abundance of insulin receptor due to Met cows having lower values at 30 d postpartum compared with controls. The diet × day interaction was significant for hormone-sensitive lipase due to Met cows having greater abundance at 10 d postpartum compared with controls. Enhanced Met supply upregulated protein abundance of insulin-responsive proteins phosphorylated (p)-AKT, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, and fatty acid synthase. Overall abundance of solute carrier family 2 member 4 tended to be greater in cows fed Met. A diet × day interaction was observed for mTOR protein abundance due to greater values for RPM cows at 30 d postpartum compared with controls. Enhanced RPM supply upregulated overall protein abundance of solute carrier family 1 member 3, p-mTOR, and ribosomal protein S6. Overall, data indicate that mTOR and insulin signaling pathways in adipose tissue adapt to the change in physiologic state during the periparturient period. Further studies should be done to clarify whether the activation of p-AKT or increased availability of AA leads to the activation of mTOR.

Abstract
Ion flow velocity measurement in the edge and scraper-off layer region is beneficial to understand the confinement related phenomenon in fusion devices such as impurity transport and plays an important role in impurity control. During the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) operation phase 1.2a, a multi-channel (MC) Mach probe mounted on the multi-purpose manipulator has been used to measure radial profiles of edge ion flow velocity. This MC-Mach probe consists of two polar and two radial arrays of directional Langmuir pins (28 pins in total) serving for different aims, of which the polar arrays could obtain a polar distribution of ion saturation current, while the radial arrays can be used to study the dynamic process of a radially propagated event. In this paper, we report the observation of the radially outward propagation of a low frequency mode with a speed of around 200 m/s. The first measurement of the radial ion flow velocity profile using the MC-Mach probe in the boundary plasma of the W7-X with an island divertor will also be presented.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The co-existence of underweight and overweight is a great challenge for public health in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). OBJECTIVES The objective of the study is to report the prevalence of underweight, overweight and obesity among young adolescents in 58 LMICs. METHODS Data were from the Global School-based Student Health Survey (2007-2013) in 57 LMICs and from the Chinese National Surveys on Students' Constitution and Health (2010). A total of 177 325 young adolescents aged 12-15 years from 58 LMICs were included. Weight status was defined based on both the updated International Obesity Task Force (IOTF) and World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. RESULTS Based on the IOTF/WHO criteria, the overall prevalence of weight categories among young adolescents in LMICs was 13.4%/4.7% for underweight, 15.4%/17.3% for overweight and 5.6%/8.6% for obesity. However, the prevalence varied largely across countries and regions. Based on the IOTF criteria, the prevalence of underweight ranged from 0.0% in Niue to 48.8% in Sri Lanka and obesity ranged from 0.1% in Vanuatu to 35.0% in Niue; a prevalence exceeding 10.0% for both underweight and excess weight (overweight and obesity combined) was found in 29.3% of these countries. Underweight was more prevalent in Southeast Asia and Africa, while obesity was more frequent in Central and South Americas. There were no age and sex differences in the prevalence of weight categories for most countries. CONCLUSIONS Our data confirm the continued dual burden of underweight and overweight in young adolescents in many LMICs and the need for policy and programmes to address both conditions.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Given the prevalence of female breast cancer in the United States, large volume displacement (Level II) oncoplastic breast surgery is becoming an increasingly common technique to remove cancerous breast tissue. It allows for the removal of the cancerous tissue with a large partial mastectomy followed by a mastopexy or breast reduction oncoplastic reconstruction design. A contralateral symmetry operation using similar mastopexy or breast reduction designs are many times also performed, often by a plastic surgeon. Our goal was to determine the rates of high risk and malignant lesions present in the contralateral breast specimen.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review of the first consecutive 100 large volume displacement oncoplastic breast surgeries performed at our institution between August 2015 and June 2018. Of the 100 cases, 84 patients had an immediate symmetry operation performed on the contralateral breast. Our inclusion criteria for malignant lesions included invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Inclusion criteria for high risk lesions included atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH), atypical lobular hyperplasia (ALH) and lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). We obtained this information from the patient's pathology report.
Results: Of the 84 patients that underwent a symmetry operation on the contralateral breast, 14 patients (16.7%) had malignant and/or high risk lesions incidentally detected. Two patients (2.4%) had IDC, 1 (1.2%) had DCIS alone, 1 (1.2%) had DCIS with ADH, 6 (7.1%) had ADH alone, 2 (2.4%) had ALH, and 2 (2.4%) had LCIS. For those who had IDC in the contralateral breast, average reported incidental tumor size was 6.5 mm at its largest point. The majority of these lesions (57%) were found when performing in superomedial pedicle inverted T (Wise) skin incision pattern specimens. 3 (21%) were found using the inferior pedicle inverted T (Wise) skin pattern, 2 (14%) were found using the superomedial pedicle circumvertical skin incision pattern, and 1 (7%) was found using the superior pedicle circumvertical skin incision pattern.
Conclusion: The high incidence of cancer and high risk lesions incidentally detected in the contralateral breast highlights the need for consistent histological examination of the contralateral specimen. These results suggest the need for proper orientation of the specimen and good communication between the surgical (often the plastic surgeons performing the symmetry operation) and pathology teams. Such communication is needed to help target any future surgeries that may be required due to positive margins in the contralateral symmetry specimen.

Abstract
Objective: To elucidate the clinicopathologic characteristics of atypical epithelioid trophoblastic lesions with cyst and fistula formation after cesarean section. Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 4 cases of post-cesarean atypical epithelioid trophoblastic lesions with cyst and fistula formation diagnosed at Women's Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University during April 2007 to June 2018 were evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin stain and EnVision two-step immunohistochemical staining technique. Results: The age of the 4 patients ranged from 32 to 41 years, with a mean age of 36.5 years. Three patients recieved cystectomy and one underwent subtotal hysterectomy. Histologically, the lesions were well circumscribed and consisted of uniform cells of medium size, irregularly enlarged with hyperchromatic nuclei and 1 to 2 inconspicuous nucleoli embedded in abundant hyalinized matrix with fibrinoid material in the center. The cells exhibited immunohistochemical feature of chorionic-type intermediate trophoblastic cells (CK18+, p63+ and CD146-). All patients were alive without recurrence during follow-up of 1 to 40 months (mean=22 months). Conclusion: Atypical epithelioid trophoblastic lesion with cyst and fistula formation after cesarean section has unique histological features, and its biological behavior and prognosis are still unclear, which need further exploration.

Abstract
Type I IFNs are a family of cytokines with antiviral, anti-proliferative and immune-modulatory functions. In this study, four type I IFNs (termed AjIFN1-4) have been cloned from the Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica. The open reading frames of AjIFN1-4 are 552, 534, 546 and 561 bp in length, encoding 183, 177, 181, and 186 amino acids (aa), respectively. Sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis results revealed that AjIFN1 and AjIFN2 belong to group one (2C-containing) IFNs, while AjIFN3 and AjIFN4 belong to group two (4C-containing) IFNs. Syntenic comparison showed that chromosome block duplication and rearrangement events might have occurred at IFN loci in different teleost lineages. Expression analysis revealed the rapid induction of AjIFNl and AjIFN2 in response to poly I:C stimulation, while AjIFN3 and AjIFN4 were predominantly expressed at later time points. Two Mx promoter reporter assays were conducted to assess the Mx-inducing capability of AjIFN1-4. It is shown that the overexpression of AjIFN1-4 all promoted the luciferase activity of MxB reporter, but the activity of MxC reporter increased only in cells transfected with AjIFN1. Collectively, it is suggested that teleost IFNs were evolved independently in different lineages of fish and may function differently in teleost antiviral immunity.

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the relative factors of the severity and characteristics of primary tinnitus patients with fine puretone test(FPT) by three kinds of octaves, and to estimate the clinical application of this technique.Method:All subjects(n=90, ears=108), diagnosed with primary tinnitus, were recruited during July 2017 to February 2018 from the out-patients of Nanfang Hospital. In the prospective design, the patients were randomly divided into group 1/3 octave(n=30, ears=35), group 1/12 octave(n=30, ears=37) and group 1/24 octave(n=30, ears=36). Then tinnitus handicap inventory(THI), FPT, time and degree of residual inhibition(RI), time and degree of hyposensitization test, time attenuation test of masking(TATM) were used for evaluating the diseased and healthy ear performed separately.Result:Eighty-six patients were taken THI. The severity of tinnitus was no significant correlation with the gender,ear,sleep time and working time(P>0.05),but positive correlation with age(r=0.274, P=0.011) and duration of tinnitus(r=0.239, P=0.026). The selfassessment loudness score(SALS)(r=0.542,P=0.000) and the visual analogue score(VAS)(r=0.529, P=0.000) showed a moderate positive correlation. In the 1/24 octave, except for the TATM of the diseased ear group, the results of other groups were statistically different from the 1/3 octave(P<0.05), and much suitable than the 1/3 octave. Moreover, the results showed that the time of RI in the left and diseased ear group, the time of HT in the right, left and diseased ear group, the degree of HT in the right ear group were statistically different from the 1/12 octave(P<0.05) respectively, and much suitable than the 1/12 octave. The 1/12 octave was only statistically different from the 1/3 octave in TATM of the diseased ear group(P<0.05), and much suitable than the 1/3 octave.Conclusion:This study shows that gender, ear, sleep time, and working time had no significant effect on the severity of tinnitus, the age and duration of tinnitus have certain effects on the severity of tinnitus, the SALS, VAS score and the severity of tinnitus are moderately positively correlated. The 1/24 octave is significantly much suitable than the 1/3 octave and the 1/12 octave. And the technique of FPT is beneficial to improve the reliability and accuracy of the tinnitus evaluation.

Abstract
IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common glomerulonephritis worldwide. Current studies have shown that the Th17/Treg immune balance may be involved in the occurrence of IgAN, but the exact mechanism is still unclear. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) is an enzyme that catalyses degradation of tryptophan (Trp) through the kynurenine (Kyn) pathway; it can control inflammation and immune response by inducing Trp starvation. IDO may be a key molecule in regulating the Th17/Treg immune balance. However, it is not clear whether IDO is involved in the IgAN disease occurrence by regulating the Th17/Treg immune balance. In this study, an IgAN mouse model was established. The mice were intraperitoneally inoculated with IDO inhibitor 1-MT or agonist ISS-ODN to observe whether the IDO signalling pathway participates in the occurrence and development of IgAN by regulating the Th17/Treg immune balance. The results showed that IDO inhibitor 1-MT significantly increased renal injury and glomerular IgA accumulation and up-regulated Th17/Treg and Th17-related cytokine expression in IgAN mice, while ISS-ODN significantly decreased renal injury and glomerular IgA accumulation, down-regulated Th17/Treg expression and inhibited Th17-related cytokine expression in IgAN mice. In conclusion, IDO was involved in the occurrence and progress of IgAN by regulating the Th17/ Treg balance.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Our aim was to evaluate the general applicability, feasibility, and safety of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) in Chinese renal allograft patients for prostate cancer removal. PATIENTS AND METHODS A 62-year-old patient diagnosed as having biopsy-proven localized prostate cancer in March 2016 who had undergone renal transplant 12 years ago was studied. The preoperative prostate-specific antigen value was determined to be 11.82 ng/mL and the Gleason score was determined to be 3 + 3. The RARP was carried out using a transperitoneal and posterior approach with 5 ports in May 2016. The most important technique was ensuring that the transplanted kidney and ureter remained untouched during the surgery. Only the right obturator lymph nodes were dissected because the renal allograft was overlying the iliac vessels. RESULTS The RARP was successfully concluded following 230 minutes with an estimated blood loss of 200 mL. There were no postoperative complications. Final pathology was T2cN0M0, Gleason 3 + 3. Following catheter removal, the patient was completely continent and was discharged with no change in serum creatinine or glomerular filtration rate levels. During a 21-month follow-up, unobstructed urination, no incontinence, no biochemical recurrence, and normal kidney function were observed. CONCLUSION RARP in Chinese renal allograft patients is a feasible method that can be accomplished with no injuries to the transplanted kidney or ureter and is achieved with favorable oncological and functional outcomes. In addition, post-kidney transplant male patients are recommended to have routine prostate-specific antigen screening for the early detection of prostate cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the application of multivane technique at 3.0 T MRI in female pelvis examination in reducing artifacts and improving image quality. Methods: A total of 49 female patients were collected between December 2016 and April 2018 from Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University, which were examined with sagittal T(2)-weighted TSE, T(2) weighted -MV and T(2) weighted-SShTSE with fat suppression on a 3.0 T scanner.Three radiologists assessed the images for the presence of artifacts and overall image quality using a five-point scale after Cronbach's Alpha repeatability measurement of the three doctors. Results: The Cronbach's Alpha of the three doctors was 0.950, 0.973, 0.985, respectively.Both MV and SShTSE groups got higher points than TSE group.In the level of anatomic detail, the differences was statistically significant(all P<0.05). Although there was no significant difference between MV and SShTSE group in the score of doctor 1 (P=0.126), but had significant differences in the score of doctor 2 (P=0.022)and doctor 3(P=0.005). In assessing the images for the presence of artifacts, both MV and SShTSE groups got higher points than TSE group, while SShTSE group got higher points than MV group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). In assessing the overall image quality, both MV and SShTSE groups got higher points than TSE group, while MV group got higher points than SShTSE group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Imagings of the anatomic detail are improved and the artifacts associated with bowel or respiratory motion are reduced with the MV technique.MV technique is important in providing an accurate diagnosis compared with TSE and SShTSE.

Abstract
PURPOSE Ventral hernia repair with concurrent panniculectomy (VHR-PAN) is associated with high wound complication rates despite reported increased patient satisfaction. Some surgeons believe negative-pressure therapy after primary closure of the surgical incision (ciNPT) may lower wound complications in high-risk abdominal wounds. This study aims to evaluate if ciNPT improves outcomes in patients undergoing VHR-PAN. METHODS An 8-year retrospective cohort study was performed on patients who underwent VHR-PAN. Patients were divided into two groups: those who received closed-incision negative-pressure therapy ("ciNPT") and those who received standard sterile dressings ("SSD"). The primary outcome of interest was the rate of postoperative complications between these groups. Complications were subdivided into surgical site occurrences (which included surgical site occurrences that required an intervention), return to the operating room, and hernia recurrence. RESULTS A total of 104 patients were analyzed: 62 in the ciNPT group and 42 in the SSD group. Median follow-up duration was similar between both groups (182 days vs 195 days, p = 0.624). Patients in the ciNPT group had fewer total complications (57% vs. 83%, p = 0.004) and fewer SSO (47% vs. 69%, p = 0.025). However, no differences were noted when comparing individual complications (SSI, wound dehiscence, skin necrosis, chronic wound, seroma, and hematoma). There was no difference in return to the operating room (27% vs. 26%, p = 0.890) or hernia recurrence (21% vs 19%, p = 0.811). Multivariate analysis showed that ciNPT decreased the risk of SSOPI nearly fourfold (odds ratio 0.28, 95% CI = 0.09-0.87, p = 0.027). CONCLUSIONS This study showed that closed-incision negative-pressure therapy in ventral hernia repair with concurrent panniculectomy may decrease the rate of wound complications in this high-risk population.

Abstract
Objective: Application of technique of high resolution CT (HRCT) and multipliate plane reconstruction, analyzed the image features of suspicious superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSCD) to improve the understanding of the SSCD.Method:From January 2016 to April 2017, a total of 230 adult patients who checked temporal bone HRCT were collected in this retrospective study, of which 160 cases (320 ears) of the non-SSCD, 73 cases were male (146 ears), 87 cases were female (174 ears), aged 18 to 70 years old; 70 cases (113 ears) were suspicious diagnosed with SSCD, 33 cases were male (55 ears), 37 cases were female (58 ears), and 18 to 71 years old. The thin section CT scan of the temporal bone translocation was performed on all subjects, then the CT post processing workstation was used for multipliate plane reconstruction (MPR), and the main rows of coronal and oblique sagittal image reconstruction was performed. To observe, measure and record the HRCT features and datas of the suspicious SSCD and non-SSCD, then analyze the collected data.Result:There were 160 cases (320 ears) in non-SSCD group, and the height of the superior semicircular canal was (6.43±0.51)mm, the outer tube diameter was (0.83±0.13)mm, the thickness of the tympanic cavity was (2.19±0.62)mm, the anteroposterior diameter of mastoid was (14.55±1.98)mm; There were 70 cases (113 ears) in the suspicious SSCD group, the above results were (6.42±0.60)mm, (0.85±0.16)mm, (1.62±0.55)mm, (13.24±1.97)mm, respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there were no significant difference in the height of the superior semicircular canal (P=0.94) and the outer tube diameter (P=0.64), There were significant differences in the thickness of the tympanic cavity (P=0.002) and the anteroposterior diameter of mastoid (P=0.004). There were 70 cases (113 ears) in group suspicious SSCD, the unilateral defect had 27 cases (27 ears), and bilateral defect had 43 cases (86 ears). The defect was located in the middle of the parietal wall in 48 ears, located in the anterior wall of 20 ears, located in the posterior wall of 32 ears, more than two defects in 13 ears; 7 ears were mastoid pneumatic type, 90 ears were mastoid sclerotic type, 16 ears were mastoid mixed type.Conclusion:The SSCD was more common in the sclerotic mastoid. The bilateral defect was common, mostly located in the middle of the parietal wall. The occurrence of the lesion is not related to the height and diameter of the superior semicircular canal, but may be related to the thinning of the whole temporal bone.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical data, karyotype, growth hormone receptor (GHR) exon 3 polymorphism, etc. in Turner syndrome before and after recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) treatment, and thereby to understand the related factors influencing the rhGH curative effect in children with Turner syndrome. Methods: This was a retrospective study of 31 cases with Turner syndrome who were treated with growth hormone for more than 1 year in the pediatric outpatient department of Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2010 to January 2017. The GHR Exon3 polymorphism was detected by PCR assay, Turner syndrome children were divided according to GHR exon3 genotype for homozygous for the full-length GHR isoform (fl/fl-GHR)and carriers of one or two copies of the GHR exon3 allele(fl/d3-GHR;d3/d3-GHR).According to the karyotype, the children were divided into 45,X karyotype group and other karyotype group. The height standard deviation (Ht-SDS) and growth velocity (GV) as indicators to measure rhGH treatment efficacy, the data were analyzed by the SPSS12.0 software (t test, one-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression analysis). Results: (1) The mean age at diagnosis of 31 cases was (12.2±2.9) years, the bone age was (8.9±2.4) years, the height was (126.2±10.5) cm and the Ht-SDS was (-3.5±1.3) SDS. The karyotype was 45,X in 14 patients, 17 cases had other karyotypes. Thirteen cases were of (fl/fl-GHR) (42%), 14 cases of fl/d3-GHR (45%) and 4 cases of d3/d3-GHR(13%).Among the 31 cases, the main reason for 5 patients' hospitalization was no secondary sexual characteristics, another 26 cases had short stature (accounting for 81%).(2) After Growth hormone treatment, growth rate (cm/year)(7.3±1.4, 7.0±3.0, 7.0±1.3) and Ht-SDS (-2.8±1.2, -2.5±0.9, -2.2±0.8) were significantly higher than the pre-treatment levels (2.9±0.9, -3.5±1.3), the difference was statistically significant (F=54.12, 4.43, P<0.05) ; the third year Ht-SDS(-2.2±0.8)higher than the first year Ht-SDS(-2.8±1.2), the difference was statistically significant (t=-2.3, P<0.05) .(3)Before rhGH treatment, the height of 45,X karyotype group was significantly lower than that of other karyotypes ((122.1±9.1) cm vs. (129.9±10.3) cm, t=-2.2, P<0.05)). Before and after rhGH treatment, there was no significant difference in growth rate (cm/year) and Ht-SDS, between 45, X karyotype group and other karyotype group, but with the prolongation of treatment time, the Ht-SDS of other karyotype groups had an improvement trend compared with the 45,X karyotype groups. (4) After short-term and long-term treatment with rhGH, there were no significant differences in GV, Ht-SDS between patients with different genotypes (P>0.05). (5) Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that ΔHt-SDS was negatively correlated with the age at initial treatment(partial regression coefficient=-0.098, P <0.05), and positively correlated with GV before treatment(partial regression coefficient=0.202, P<0.05). Conclusions: In Turner's syndrome children, the earlier the rhGH treatment started, the faster the growth rate before treatment and the longer treatment duration, the better effect of rhGH treatment was obtained. Before rhGH treatment, the height of 45,X karyotype group was significantly lower than that of other karyotypes. Before and after rhGH treatment, there was no significant difference in growth rate (cm/year) and Ht-SDS, but with the prolongation of treatment time, the Ht-SDS of other karyotype groups had an improvement trend compared with the 45,X karyotype groups. GHR exon 3 polymorphism did not significantly affect the efficacy of rhGH in Turner syndrome children, but large-scale long-term studies are still needed.

Abstract
In this study, we aimed to explore the effects of imatinib on the proliferation of rheumatoid arthritis synovial cell (RA-FLS) and inflammatory responses by regulating CSF1R. Differential genes were screened via microarray analysis, followed by being analysed through the weighted co-expression network (WGCNA) network, that included module and cluster analysis. The relationship between imatinib and genes was visualized using the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STITCH) database. Expressions of mRNA and protein were determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot, respectively. Cell viability was examined via clone formation assay, while cell cycle and apoptosis were analysed through flow cytometry analysis. The hub gene CSF1R was ultimately determined by microarray analysis and WGCNA analysis. Colony-stimulating-factor receptor-1 (SF1R) was highly expressed in rheumatoid arthritis tissues and cells, and CSF1R over-expression could promote inflammatory responses. Moreover, CSF1R could promote RA-FLS proliferation, inhibit apoptosis and accelerate the cell cycle. The targeting relationship between imatinib and CSF1R was also validated in this study. Imatinib attenuated RA-FLS inflammation in a concentration-dependent manner. Meanwhile, imatinib could inhibit RA-FLS proliferation and promote apoptosis, ultimately reducing the damage of RA-FLS. Over-expression of CSF1R accelerated the cell cycle and proliferation of RA-FLS, while inhibiting cell apoptosis. Conversely, imatinib could significantly restrain the cell cycle and viability of RA-FLS and accelerated apoptosis via suppression of CSF1R expression. Further, histological and serological assay investigated and proved the proinflammatory effects of CSF1R in RA rabbits.

Abstract
Myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) is a key adaptor protein required for the signaling of all Toll-like receptors except TLR3, which results to the interaction of activated TLR complexes via C-terminal TIR domain and the binding of downstream kinase via N-terminal death domain. In this study, the MyD88 gene from the Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica) was identified. The open reading frame of AjMyD88 was 918 bp in length, encoding a protein composed of conserved N-terminal death domain and C-terminal TIR domain, respectively. Multiple alignment revealed highly conserved sites across all examined vertebrate lineages in death and TIR domains. Site-directed mutagenesis and luciferase analysis revealed that the W78A, L91A and L95A mutations in death domain had modest impairment of their ability in activating NF-κB promoter. The expression level of AjMyD88 was investigated by real-time PCR in response to poly I:C stimulation and Edwardsiella tarda infection. Significantly increased MyD88 expression was observed at early phase in all tested tissues/organs in response to E. tarda infection and slight increase was detected in intestine and gill at 16 hpi and in head kidney, spleen and liver at 24 hpi after poly I:C stimulation. Immunofluorescence staining revealed that AjMyD88 is present as condensed forms in the cytoplasm. Taken together, sequence characterization, gene expression and cellular distribution data obtained in this study suggest that AjMyD88, similar to its mammalian ortholog, plays an important role in eel immune response against bacteria.

Abstract
We report first measurements of e^{+}e^{-} pair production in the mass region 0.4<M_{ee}<2.6 GeV/c^{2} at low transverse momentum (p_{T}<0.15 GeV/c) in noncentral Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and U+U collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV. Significant enhancement factors, expressed as ratios of data over known hadronic contributions, are observed in the 40%-80% centrality of these collisions. The excess yields peak distinctly at low p_{T} with a width (sqrt[⟨p_{T}^{2}⟩]) between 40 and 60 MeV/c. The absolute cross section of the excess depends weakly on centrality, while those from a theoretical model calculation incorporating an in-medium broadened ρ spectral function and radiation from a quark gluon plasma or hadronic cocktail contributions increase dramatically with an increasing number of participant nucleons. Model calculations of photon-photon interactions generated by the initial projectile and target nuclei describe the observed excess yields but fail to reproduce the p_{T}^{2} distributions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of airway inflammation phenotype in patients with bronchial asthma (asthma), and to analyze clinical characteristics, inflammatory cytokines, pulmonary small vessels remodeling and small airway wall remodeling in patients with neutrophilic asthma. METHODS Sixty-three patients with asthma were enrolled from January 2015 to December 2015 in Peking University Third Hospital. Clinical data including gender, age, body mass index (BMI), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), asthma control test (ACT) were recorded. All the patients underwent sputum induction. The cellular composition of the sputum was evaluatedand the concentration of active MMP-9 in the sputum tested. Blood routine tests were done and the concentration of IgE, periostin, and TGF-beta1 levels were measured in serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Small airway wall remodeling was measured in computed tomography (CT) scans, as the luminal diameter, luminal area, wall thickness and wall area % adjusted by body surface area (BSA) at the end of the 6th generation airway, in which the inner diameter was less than 2 mm. Small vascular alterations were measured by cross-sectional area (CSA), and the total vessel CSA < 5 mm2 was calculated using imaging software. RESULTS The distributions of airway inflammatory phenotypes of the asthmatic patients were as follows: neutrophilic asthma (34.9%, 22/63), eosinophilic asthma (34.9%, 22/63), mixed granulocytic asthma (23.8%, 15/63), and paucigranulocytic asthma (6.3%, 4/63). The neutrophilic subtype patients had a significantly higher active MMP-9 level in sputum compared with the eosinophilic phenotypepatuents, as 179.1 (74.3, 395.5) vs. 50.5 (9.7, 225.8), P<0.05. Sputum neutrophil count was negatively correlated with FEV1%pred (r=-0.304,P<0.05), and positively correlated with active MMP-9 level in sputum (r=-0.304, P<0.05), and positive correlation trend with airway wall thickness (r=0.533, P=0.06). There was a significantly negative correlation of active MMP-9 level in sputum with FEV1%pred (r=-0.281, P<0.05), in positive correlation with small airway wall area (%)(r=0.612, P<0.05), and inpositive correlation trend with airway wall thickness (r=0.612, P=0.06). Neutrophils count in peripheral blood was positively correlated with neutrophil counts in sputum. CONCLUSION Neutrophil count in airway is related to lung function in asthmatic patients. Neutrophils may accelerate small airway wall remodeling through the release of active MMP-9. Neutrophil count in peripheral blood is related to neutrophils count in sputum, which may be used as a substitute for evaluating inflammatory phenotype.

Abstract
AIMS To gather real-world data on treatment characteristics and comorbidity progression in patients with newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetes (T2D) and evaluate differences by patient age. METHODS Retrospective analysis of a US administrative claims database including 16,950 subjects with newly-diagnosed T2D in 2006 and a baseline Diabetes Complications Severity Index (DCSI) score of 0. Patients were categorized by DCSI score at year 8 (0, 1-2, or ≥3) and comparatively analyzed based on demographic variables, drug usage, and diabetes-related comorbidities. RESULTS Year 8 DCSI score distribution was 0 (29.9%), 1-2 (36.2%), and ≥3 (33.9%). The highest DCSI score subgroup (≥3) was characterized by a significantly greater percentage of males, older age at T2D diagnosis, and higher Medicare enrollment. DCSI progressed most rapidly in the oldest age group (≥65). Among all subjects at year 8, insulin use was significantly highest among subjects with DCSI ≥3 compared with those having a lower DCSI. However, for subjects with DCSI ≥3, insulin use was lower among those in the oldest age group (≥65) relative to younger age groups. CONCLUSIONS These real-world data suggest a relationship between age at T2D diagnosis and disease progression based on comorbidity burden and lower usage of injectable therapies in older patients.
