Abstract
Two series of Benzimidazole clubbed with triazolo-thiadiazoles (5a-q, 5r, 5s and 5x-a(1)) and triazolo-thiadiazines (5t-w) were synthesized with an aim to produce promising anticancer agents. In vitro anticancer activities of synthesized compounds were investigated at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) against NCI 60 cell line panel; results showed good to remarkable broad-spectrum anticancer activity. Among them, the compound 5h (NCS: 760452, 1-(1H-benzo [d] imidazol-2-yl)-3-(6-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-3-yl) propan-1-one) exhibited significant growth inhibition with GI50 values ranging from 0.20 to 2.58 μM and found superior selectivity for the leukemia cell lines and further screened at 10-fold dilutions of five different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 μM). The 5h may possibly be used as lead compound for developing new anticancer agents.

Abstract
Stearic acid, a saturated fatty acid was isolated from the microalga Spirulina platensis. Some novel stearic acid analogues having 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,4-triazole and 1,2,4-triazolo-[3,4-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazole are synthesized and characterized by IR, NMR and mass spectral analysis. All the synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity by using cup plate method. The synthesized compounds have been further screened for their antidepressant activity in swiss albino mice by forced swim test (FST), midbrain dopamine has been estimated and quantified. All the compounds showed good antimicrobial activity and compound 6 showed significant antidepressant activity.

Abstract
Some new 5-(4-(4-X-phenylsulfonyl)phenyl)-4-(R)-2H-1,2,4-triazol-3(4H)-thiones 4a,b; 5a,b and 5-(4-(4-X-phenylsulfonyl)phenyl)-N-(R)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amines 6a,b; 7a,b were obtained by cyclization of new N(1)-[4-(4-X-phenylsulfonyl)benzoyl]-N(4)-(R)-thiosemicarbazides 2a,b; 3a,b (X=H, Br). The 1,2,4-triazoles were synthesized by intramolecular cyclization of acylthiosemicarbazides, in basic media. On the other hand, 1,3,4-thiadiazoles were obtained from same acylthiosemicarbazides, in acidic media. These new intermediates from thiosemicarbazide class were afforded by the reaction of 4-(4-X-phenylsulfonyl)benzoic acids hydrazides (X=H, Br) 1a,b with 4-trifluoromethoxyphenyl or 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl isothiocyanate. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, MS and elemental analysis. All the new compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity against some bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Bacillus cereus ATCC 13061, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Enterobacter cloacae ATCC 49141, Acinetobacter baumannii ATCC 19606 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853) and yeasts (Candida albicans ATCC 90028 and Candida parapsilosis ATCC 22019).

Abstract
Treating infections caused by drug-resistant bacterial strains constitutes one of the most essential challenges for medicine nowadays. A range of new derivatives of 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]1,3,4-thiadiazole have been synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity. Compounds 1-8 indicated high activity towards Gram-positive bacteria, which was up to 16 times more than currently used antibiotics. To the best of our knowledge, the derivatives obtained by us are the most active among the 3-aryl-6-arylamino-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]1,3,4-thiadiazoles known until now.

Abstract
Microwave-assisted synthesis of some novel compounds, namely, 3-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-6-aryl-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazoles 5a,b was accomplished via bromination of 2-methyl-3-[4-(arylideneamino)-5-mercapto-4H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl]-1H-indoles 3a,b. Also, new [1,3,4]thiadiazoles 12a,b, [1,2,4]triazoles 15a,b and [1,3,4]oxadiazoles 19a,b, with indole moieties, were prepared by cyclization of 1-[(2-methyl-1H-indole)-3-carbonyl]thiosemicarbazides 8a,b under microwave irradiation using different reaction conditions. Moreover, reaction of acid hydrazide 7 with ethyl 2-(N-phenylhydrazono)-3-oxobutanoate (20) gave the respective phenylhydrazonopyrazole derivative 21 under the reaction conditions employed. The structures of the synthesized compounds were assigned based on elemental analyses and spectral data (IR, (1)H-NMR, (13)C-NMR, MS). The antifungal and antibacterial activities of the new products were also evaluated.

Abstract
A rapid and efficient microwave-assisted synthesis method for the preparation of 1,3,4-thiadiazole Schiff base derivatives is described. These 1,3,4-thiadiazole Schiff bases (5a-h) were identified by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analyses. The target compounds were performed in a shorter reaction time compared with conventional heating methods.
