Abstract
A series of (E)-α-silyl-β-alkoxyvinyl-λ3-iodanes was synthesized from iodosylbenzene, BF3-ether complexes, and terminal ethynylsilanes. The combined use of BF3-OiPr2 and benzyl ethers of primary alcohols (ROBn) allows the chemoselective transfer of primary alkoxy groups (RO) onto the β-position of the terminal ethynylsilanes.

Abstract
The stereoselective synthesis of cis-β-phenoxyvinyl benziodoxolones (cis-β-phenol-VBXs) from an ethynyl benziodoxolone-acetonitrile complex (EBX-MeCN) and various phenols is reported herein. The reaction tolerates different phenol derivatives, including complex natural products, and can be conducted under mild conditions. The synthesis was performed in an aqueous solvent in the absence and presence of a catalytic amount of a base. Selectively mono- and di-deuterated cis-β-phenol-VBXs were also prepared. cis-β-Phenol-VBXs were stereospecifically derivatized to cis-alkynylvinyl ethers and cis-iodovinyl ethers without loss of stereoselectivity or reduction in the deuterium/hydrogen ratio.

Vicinal difunctionalization of carbon-carbon double bond for the platform synthesis of trifluoroalkyl amines. Nat Commun 2020; 11:5924. Abstract
Regioselective vicinal diamination of carbon-carbon double bonds with two different amines is a synthetic challenge under transition metal-free conditions, especially for the synthesis of trifluoromethylated amines. However, the synthesis of ethylene diamines and fluorinated amine compounds is demanded, especially in the pharmaceutical sector. Herein, we demonstrate that the controllable double nucleophilic functionalization of an activated alkene synthon, originated from a trifluoropropenyliodonium salt with two distinct nucleophiles, enables the selective synthesis of trifluoromethylated ethylene amines and diamines on broad scale with high efficiency under mild reaction conditions. Considering the chemical nature of the reactants, our synthetic approach brings forth an efficient methodology and provides versatile access to highly fluorinated amines.

Abstract
Substrate specificity is ubiquitous in biological catalysis, but less pervasive in the realm of small-molecule catalysis. Herein, we disclose an intriguing example of substrate specificity that was observed whilst exploring catalysis-based routes to generate α-fluoroketones from terminal and internal alkynes under the auspices of I(I)/I(III) catalysis. Utilising p-TolI as an inexpensive organocatalyst with Selectfluor® and amine/HF mixtures, the formation of protected α-fluoroketones from simple alkynes was realised. Whilst the transient p-TolIF2 species generated in situ productively engaged with pentynyl benzoate scaffolds to generate the desired α-fluoroketone motif, augmentation or contraction of the linker suppressed catalysis. The prerequisite for this substructure was established by molecular editing and was complemented with a physical organic investigation of possible determinants.

Abstract
An efficient and site-selective aromatic C-H λ3-iodanation reaction is achieved using benziodoxole triflate (BXT) as an electrophile under room temperature conditions. The reaction tolerates a variety of electron-rich arenes and heteroarenes to afford the corresponding arylbenziodoxoles in moderate to good yields. The reaction can also be performed mechanochemically by grinding a mixture of solid arenes and BXT under solvent-free conditions. The arylbenziodoxoles can be used for various C-C and C-heteroatom bond formations, and are also amenable to further modification by electrophilic halogenation. DFT calculations suggested that the present reaction proceeds via a concerted λ3-iodanation-deprotonation transition state, where the triflate anion acts as an internal base.
