Abstract
A variety of chroman-4-ones bearing phosphine oxide motifs were conveniently synthesized from readily available diphenylphosphine oxides and alkenyl aldehydes via a metal-free tandem phosphinoylation/cyclization protocol. The reaction utilizes K2S2O8 as oxidant and proceeds in DMSO/H2O at environmentally benign conditions with a broad substrate scope and afforded the title compounds in moderate yields.

Abstract
An efficient, photoredox-catalyst-free radical alkylation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones has been described. This reaction utilizes 4-alkyl-1,4-dihydropyridines (R-DHPs) as alkyl radical precursors and acetoxybenziodoxole (BI-OAc) as an electron acceptor to undergo single-electron transfer with photoexcited R-DHPs. The benign conditions allow for good compatibility in the scope of both quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones and R-DHPs. The synthetic value of the protocol was also demonstrated by the successful functionalization of natural products and drug-based complex molecules.

Abstract
Herein, we report a protocol for visible-light-mediated allylation reactions between unactivated alkyl iodides and allyl sulfones under mild conditions with catalysis by inexpensive and readily available Mn2(CO)10. This protocol is compatible with a wide array of sensitive functional groups and has a broad substrate scope with regard to both alkyl iodides and allyl sulfones.

Abstract
We report a direct and green electrochemical oxidative cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction of N-heterocycles with hydrogen phosphoryl compounds under external oxidant-free conditions. Various phosphorylation products of substituted carbazoles and indoles are assembled in modest to excellent yields. A hydrogen release process is preliminarily demonstrated and H2 is the sole byproduct. An imidazolium based ionic liquid is selected as the optimal electrolyte.

Abstract
The introduction of phosphorus functional groups into the skeleton of thioflavones is an attractive task and of great significance. Herein, a metal-free visible-light-induced radical cascade cyclization was developed for the preparation of 2-phosphorylated thioflavones from methylthiolated alkynones and phosphine oxides. In water as a green reaction medium, a large number of such 2-phosphorylated thioflavones were prepared, catalyzed by 4CzIPN [1,2,3,5-tetrakis(carbazol-9-yl)-4,6-dicyanobenzene] under visible-light irradiation. These reactions could be performed at ambient temperature and feature simple operation, wide reaction scope, and recyclability of aqueous media.

Abstract
Herein, a visible-light photochemical approach for practical helicene functionalization at very mild reaction conditions is described. The photochemical reactions allow for the regiospecific and innate late-stage functionalization of helicenes and are easily executed either through the activation of C(sp2 )-Br bonds in helicenes using K2 CO3 as inorganic base or direct C(sp2 )-H helicene bond functionalization under oxidative photoredox reaction conditions. Overall, using these transformations six different functional groups are introduced to the helicene scaffold through C-C and four different C-heteroatom bond-forming reactions.

Abstract
A photocatalytic, intramolecular hydroalkoxylation of alkenes has been achieved by utilizing simple and readily available biphosphonium salts as an effective organic photocatalyst. The unique photocatalytic properties of biphosphonium salt enables facile oxidations of substituted alkenes to facilitate the streamline and regioselective synthesis of a series of saturated cyclic ethers from simple alkenes under mild conditions.

Abstract
Disclosed herein is a Pd(ii)-catalyzed C(sp3)-H/P-H oxidative cross-coupling reaction between 8-methylquinolines with H-phosphonates or diarylphosphine oxides via chelation-assisted C(sp3)-H bond activation. The protocol exhibits a relatively broad functional-group tolerance and exclusive chemo- and regioselectivity. Furthermore, detailed mechanistic studies support the proposed reaction pathway.

Abstract
Catalytic difunctionalization of alkenes has been an ideal strategy to generate structurally complex molecules with diverse substitution patterns. Although both phosphonyl and carboxyl groups are valuable functional groups, the simultaneous incorporation of them via catalytic difunctionalization of alkenes, ideally from abundant, inexpensive and easy-to-handle raw materials, has not been realized. Herein, we report the phosphonocarboxylation of alkenes with CO2 via visible-light photoredox catalysis. This strategy is sustainable, general and practical, providing facile access to important β-phosphono carboxylic acids, including structurally complex unnatural α-amino acids. Diverse alkenes, including enamides, styrenes, enolsilanes and acrylates, undergo such reactions efficiently under mild reaction conditions. Moreover, this method represents a rare example of redox-neutral difunctionalization of alkenes with H-P(O) compounds, including diaryl- and dialkyl- phosphine oxides and phosphites. Importantly, these transition-metal-free reactions also feature low catalyst loading, high regio- and chemo-selectivities, good functional group tolerance, easy scalability and potential for product derivatization.
