Abstract
The appropriate arrangement of near-infrared (NIR) chromophores allows for the modification of the peak wavelength in the NIR region and efficient use of NIR light. However, the preparation of novel NIR chromophores using simple procedures remains a formidable challenge. Herein, we report the synthesis of ball-shaped ruthenium complex oligomers. The metal complexes can be synthesized in a single step and interact strongly with NIR light. Alkyne-substituted low-symmetry ball-shaped ruthenium complexes were synthesized and subjected to Eglinton coupling to obtain dehydro[12] and [18]annulene-fused dimers and trimers. Fine-tuning of the reaction conditions led to the selective synthesis of the target oligomers. NMR spectroscopy confirmed that the 18π-aromatic and 12π-antiaromatic properties of the annulene influenced the ruthenium complex chromophore, and magnetic circular dichroism spectroscopy showed changes in the electronic structure of their excited state owing to molecular-symmetry differences. The absorption coefficient in the NIR region of the absorption spectra of the oligomers increased significantly, supporting the efficient use of light by oligomerization. The formation of oligomers using ball-shaped metal complexes is a simple and effective strategy for controlling NIR optical properties.

Abstract
We demonstrate the formation of supramolecular nanotubes from molecular triangles in a single crystal by balancing the hydrogen bonds and halogen interactions between individual macrocycles. Thereby, we template the supramolecular nanotube growth by intermolecular interactions encoded directly in the macrocycles instead of those provided by the crystallization solvent. Ultimately, we show that replacing bromines for iodines in the macrocycle is necessary to achieve this supramolecular organization by enhancing the strength of the halogen interactions and concomitant reduction of the detrimental hydrogen bonds. We investigated the nature and the interplay of the individual intermolecular interactions by analysis of the experimental single crystal data and quantum chemical calculations. This work enriches the available toolbox of supramolecular interactions and will aid and abet the development of rationally-designed materials with a long-range 1D tubular organization.

Abstract
A weak CH/O hydrogen-bonded organic framework (HOF) with both rigidity and flexibility that could easily and reversibly switch from a non-crystalline to a crystalline phase was constructed. The specific solvent molecule acts as a "key" to control the crystallinity, while the highly rigid triangle macrocycle as the building block is the "lock". The introduction and removal of the "key" could influence the local flexibility of the whole framework and lead to switchable crystallinity. Furthermore, the obtained HOF exhibits excellent separation efficiency for benzene and cyclohexane (94.4 %).

Abstract
The development of rigid covalent chiroptical organic materials, with multiple, readily available redox states, which exhibit high photoluminescence, is of particular importance in relation to both organic electronics and photonics. The chemically stable, thermally robust, and redox-active perylene diimide (PDI) fluorophores have received ever-increasing attention owing to their excellent fluorescence quantum yields in solution. Planar PDI derivatives, however, generally suffer from aggregation-caused emission quenching in the solid state. Herein, we report on the design and synthesis of two chiral isosceles triangles, wherein one PDI fluorophore and two pyromellitic diimide (PMDI) or naphthalene diimide (NDI) units are arranged in a rigid cyclic triangular geometry. The optical, electronic, and magnetic properties of the rigid isosceles triangles are fully characterized by a combination of optical spectroscopies, X-ray diffraction (XRD), cyclic voltammetry, and computational modeling techniques. Single-crystal XRD analysis shows that both isosceles triangles form discrete, nearly cofacial PDI-PDI π-dimers in the solid state. While the triangles exhibit fluorescence quantum yields of almost unity in solution, the dimers in the solid state exhibit very weak-yet at least an order of magnitude higher-excimer fluorescence yield in comparison with the almost completely quenched fluorescence of a reference PDI. The triangle containing both NDI and PDI subunits shows superior intramolecular energy transfer from the lowest excited singlet state of the NDI to that of the PDI subunit. Cyclic voltammetry suggests that both isosceles triangles exhibit multiple, easily accessible, and reversible redox states. Applications beckon in arenas related to molecular optoelectronic devices.

Abstract
[C20H17N3O2] and cobalt (II) complex [Co(L2)(MeOH)2].ClO4, (L2 = 4-((E)-1-((2-(((E)-pyridin-2-ylmethylene) amino) phenyl) imino) ethyl) benzene-1, 3-diol) novel Schiff base has been synthesiszed and chracterized by Fourier transform infrared, UV-vis, 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis techniques. The interaction of Co(II) complex with DNA and BSA was investigated by electronic absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism, and thermal denaturation studies. Our experiments indicate that this complex could strongly bind to CT-DNA via minor groove mechanism. In addition, fluorescence spectrometry of BSA with the complex showed that the fluorescence quenching mechanism of BSA was of static type. The complex exhibited significant in vitro cytotoxicity against three human cancer cell lines (JURKAT, SKOV3, and U87). The molecular docking experiment effectively proved the binding of complex to DNA and BSA. Finally, antibacterial assay over gram-positive and gram-negative pathogenic bacterial strains was studied.

Abstract
The imide-based trezimide and tennimide macrocycle crystal structures typically aggregate as 1-D chains through C–Br⋯OC/N/π(arene) halogen bonds (withNc≤ 0.90) that dominate the solid-state aggregation process in the absence of classical strong hydrogen bond donors.
