Abstract
Hypervalent iodine(III) compounds have found wide application in modern organic chemistry as environmentally friendly reagents and catalysts. Hypervalent iodine reagents are commonly used in synthetically important halogenations, oxidations, aminations, heterocyclizations, and various oxidative functionalizations of organic substrates. Iodonium salts are important arylating reagents, while iodonium ylides and imides are excellent carbene and nitrene precursors. Various derivatives of benziodoxoles, such as azidobenziodoxoles, trifluoromethylbenziodoxoles, alkynylbenziodoxoles, and alkenylbenziodoxoles have found wide application as group transfer reagents in the presence of transition metal catalysts, under metal-free conditions, or using photocatalysts under photoirradiation conditions. Development of hypervalent iodine catalytic systems and discovery of highly enantioselective reactions using chiral hypervalent iodine compounds represent a particularly important recent achievement in the field of hypervalent iodine chemistry. Chemical transformations promoted by hypervalent iodine in many cases are unique and cannot be performed by using any other common, non-iodine-based reagent. This review covers literature published mainly in the last 7-8 years, between 2016 and 2024.

Abstract
Pd-Catalyzed intramolecular allylic C-H amination of 1,1-disubstituted alkenyl amines with various allylic tethers (X = O, NMs, CH2) was developed. This process allows for the divergent synthesis of 1,3-X,N-heterocycles through a regioselective allylic C-H cleavage and π-allylpalladium formation. Particularly noteworthy is the use of substrates containing a labile allylic moiety and new simple catalytic systems capable of promoting highly chemo- and regioselective allylic C-H amination by overcoming significant challenges.

Abstract
Treatment of 4-(2-hydroaminoalkylidenyl)- and 4-(2-hydroxyalkylidenyl)-substituted isoxazol-5(4H)-ones with catalytic amounts of [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2, without any additive, afforded pyrazole- and isoxazole-4-carboxylic acids, respectively. The presence of an intramolecular H-bond in these substrates was the key to divert the classical mechanism toward a ring-opening non-decarboxylative path that is expected to generate a vinyl Ru-nitrenoid intermediate, the cyclization of which affords the rearranged products. A gram scale protocol demonstrated the synthetic applicability of this transformation.

Abstract
A dimerization/cyclization reaction of 2-benzylamino-phenols for the direct synthesis of the oxazolo-phenoxazine skeleton is reported. The reaction occurs under copper catalysis in the presence of hypervalent iodine(III), giving selectively the 5H-oxazolo[4,5-b]phenoxazine compounds. The cascade process, which allows the conversion of the substrates into the tetracyclic products, involves three C-H functionalization steps. Initial oxidation of electron-rich arenes by the hypervalent iodine is essential for the dimerization of substrates, whereas the formation of the five-membered rings is promoted by the copper species. 1-Benzyl-2-phenyl-6-(aryl-benzyl)amino-benzimidazoles are regioselectively obtained using N,N'-dibenzyl-phenylenediamines as starting substrates. The fluorescence emission properties of these classes of products have been evaluated.

Abstract
We present highly diastereoselective tethered aza-Wacker cyclization reactions of alkenyl phosphoramidates. "Arming" the phosphoramidate tether with 5-chloro-8-quinolinol was essential to achieving >20:1 diastereoselectivity in these reactions. The substrate scope with respect to alkenyl alcohols and phosphoramidate tether was extensively explored. The scalability of the oxidative cyclization was demonstrated, and the product cyclophosphoramidates were shown to be valuable synthons, including for tether removal. With chiral alkenyl precursors, enantiopure cyclic phosphoramidates were formed.

Abstract
The intramolecular aza-Wacker reaction has unparalleled potential for the site-selective amination of olefins, but it is perhaps underappreciated relative to other alkene oxidations. The first part of this review makes the distinction between classical and tethered aza-Wacker cyclization reactions and summarizes examples of the latter. The second portion focuses on developments in asymmetric aza-Wacker cyclization technology. The final part of the review summarizes applications of all classes of aza-Wacker cyclization reactions to natural product assembly.

Abstract
4,4-Disubstituted 4H-isoxazol-5-ones bearing a 1,4-naphthoquinone moiety undergo transformation into different types of benzoindolyl products depending on the different reaction conditions. A decarboxylative ring opening/ring closure promoted by catalytic [Ru(p-cymene)2Cl2]2 yields benzo[f]indole-4,9-diones. Alternatively, hydrogenation reactions provide the conversion of 4-(1,4-naphthoquinone)-substituted isoxazol-5-ones to benzo[g]indole compounds, with the level of reduction depending on the substituents present on the ring. Starting materials have been easily prepared by the functionalization of isoxazolinones with naphthoquinone under mild conditions.

Abstract
Two complementary [3 + 2] annulation protocols between 3-oxoglutarates and cyclic γ-oxy-2-cycloalkenones, simply differing on the reaction temperature, are disclosed. These domino transformations allow C-C/O-C or C-C/C-C [3 + 2] annulations at will, via an intermolecular Pd-catalyzed C-allylation/intramolecular O- or C-1,4-addition sequence, respectively. In particular, exploiting the reversibility of the O-1,4-addition step, in combination with the irreversible C-1,4-addition/decarboxylation path, the intramolecular conjugate addition step could be diverted from the kinetic (O-alkylation) to the thermodynamic path (C-alkylation) thanks to a simple temperature increase. Crucial for the success of this bis-nucleophile/bis-electrophile [3 + 2] annulation is its well-defined step chronology in combination with the total chemoselectivity of the former step. This [3 + 2] C-C/O-C bond forming annulation protocol could be also extended to 1,3,5-triketones as well as 1,3-bis-sulfonylpropan-2-one bis-nucleophiles.

Abstract
A Pd(OAc)2-catalyzed intramolecular oxidative cyclization of urea-tethered alkylidenecyclopropanes with urea as a nitrogen source through a Pd(II)/Pd(IV) catalytic cycle has been presented, giving the corresponding cyclobuta[ b]indoline derivatives in moderate to good yields with a broad substrate scope. The reaction proceeds through a ring expansion of alkylidenecyclopropane along with the nucleophilic attack of nitrogen atom onto the in situ generated palladium carbenoid species as well as an oxidation process.
