Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed dehydrogenative [4+2] annulation of 1-indanones with alkynes has been reported. In this protocol, the palladium-catalyzed desaturation of 1-indanones to indenones occurs, followed by the palladium catalyzed oxidative cyclization of indenones with alkynes, generating diverse benzo[c]fluorenone derivatives in satisfactory yields and regioselectivity.

Abstract
Silyl enol ethers were examined as a masked source of saturated ketones to derive β-aryl enones and their derivatives by dehydrosilylation to generate enones in situ and subsequent oxidative arylation with arylboronic acids as transmetallation coupling partners using relayed Pd(II) catalysis in one pot under base-free conditions. Oxygen was found to be an efficient and green oxidant to enable both dehydrosilylation of enol silanes and arylation. Additionally, arylation conditions can be custom-designed to take advantage of aryl halides as an alternative source of arylating agents. The preparative scope was investigated with 35 examples (up to 95% yield), and mechanistic studies implied a cationic Pd(II)-based catalytic system.

Abstract
An efficient approach for the direct synthesis of alkylated 4-hydroxycoumarin derivatives via a Cu-catalyzed cascade dehydrogenation/conjugate addition sequence starting from simple saturated ketones and 4-hydroxycoumarins has been developed. This protocol features excellent functional-group tolerance, easy scale-up, and a broad substrate scope including bioactive molecules. More importantly, a series of marketed drugs, such as warfarin, acenocoumarol, coumachlor, and coumafuryl, can be obtained by this method.

Abstract
A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed strategy for the synthesis of diverse pyridines through the [3+3] annulation of ketones with oxime acetates has been reported. It is very convenient to obtain various unsymmetrical 2,6-diarylpyridines by changing different substrates. The rare copper-catalyzed direct difunctionalization of saturated ketones for the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles is developed. This protocol has excellent functional group tolerance, readily available raw materials, high chemoselectivity and broad substrate scope.

Abstract
A sequential and efficient protocol for the synthesis of α-thiolated enaminones has been developed using copper-TEMPO systems. This reaction features a broad substrate scope to afford the desired product in good to excellent yields with high stereoselectivity. A preliminary mechanistic study suggests that the in situ formed enaminone acts as the key intermediate.

Abstract
meta-Aminophenols are formed by the action of DBU on 3-amino-2-chlorocyclohex-2-en-1-ones at room temperature in MeCN. The chloro compounds are generated by treating 3-aminocyclohex-2-en-1-ones with the easily prepared halogenating agent BnNMe3·ICl2 in MeOH-CH2Cl2. The amino group must carry two substituents, either two aryl, one aryl and one alkyl, or two alkyl groups; 3-aminocyclohex-2-en-1-ones of this type are readily made from cyclohex-2-en-1-one and a primary or secondary amine.

Abstract
ABSTRACT To identify novel adenosine receptor (AR) ligands based on the chalcone scaffold, herein the synthesis, characterization and in vitro and in silico evaluation of 33 chalcones (15-36 and 37-41) and structurally related compounds (42-47) are reported. These compounds were characterized by radioligand binding and GTP shift assays to determine the degree and type of binding affinity, respectively, against rat (r) A1 and A2A ARs. The chalcone derivatives 24, 29, 37 and 38 possessed selective A1 affinity below 10 µM, and thus, are the most active compounds of the present series; compound 38 was the most potent selective A1 AR antagonist (K i (r) = 1.6 µM). The structure-affinity relationships (SAR) revealed that the NH2-group at position C3 of ring A of the chalcone scaffold played a key role in affinity, and also, the Br-atom at position C3' on benzylidene ring B. Upon in vitro and in silico evaluation, the novel C3 amino-substituted chalcone derivative 38-that contains an α,ß-unsaturated carbonyl system and easily allows structural modification-may possibly be a synthon in future drug discovery. GRAPHIC ABSTRACT C3 amino-substituted chalcone derivative (38) with C3' Br substitution on benzylidene ring B possesses selective adenosine rA1 receptor affinity in micromolar range.

Abstract
Multifunctional luminescent materials with aggregation-induced delayed fluorescence (AIDF) are capable of suppressing concentration-caused emission quenching and exciton annihilation when used as organic light-emitting diode (OLED) emitters. In this contribution, three stimuli-responsive AIDF luminogens, pipd-BZ-PXZ, pipd-BZ-PTZ, and pipd-BZ-DMAC, featuring a D-A asymmetric framework based on a fused N-heterocycle diarylketone acceptor (imid-azo[1,2-a]pyridin-2-yl(phenyl)methanone pipd) are designed and synthesized. Interestingly, pipd-BZ-PTZ forms two different kinds of crystals (G-crystal and O-crystal) with distinct intermolecular interactions between pipd moieties. The G-crystal with a looser packing mode presents significant morphology-dependent stimuli-responsive behavior with a shifted emission wavelength of 56 nm. Generated by a strong intramolecular charge transfer effect, pipd-BZ-PXZ and pipd-BZ-PTZ exhibit orange to red emission in solution and neat films. Both nondoped and doped devices are fabricated for comparison. Nondoped devices present moderate performance with external quantum efficiencies and current efficiency that reach 7.04% and 19.86 cd A-1, respectively, and the corresponding efficiency roll off at 1000 cd m-2 is as small as 2.3%, which is among the best records of AIDF-OLEDs with an emission wavelength over 570 nm. Doped devices show better performance with corresponding efficiencies of up to 55.41 cd A-1 and 15.77%.
