Abstract
Cyanoacrylates have a wide range of biological activities and are extensively applied in production and daily life. Classic synthetic routes to cyanoacrylates have many limitations. Herein, we demonstrate an elemental sulfur-promoted method for the synthesis of β,β-diaryl cyanoacrylates by a tandem 1,6-Michael addition/oxidation/elimination process from p-QMs and cyanoacetates under optimal conditions. The effective protocol has good substrate scopes and yields, and the ratio of inseparable E/Z isomers of cyanoacrylates is also determined by 1HNMR.

Abstract
Elemental sulfur and DABCO were found to be an excellent combination to promote a one-pot cascade of condensation-oxidative cyclization of chalcones and unsubstituted cyanoacetamide in DMSO to provide 3-cyanopyrid-2-ones.

Abstract
Chalcones were found to undergo sulfurative dimerization with elemental sulfur to tetrasubstituted 1,3-dithioles. The reaction was found to proceed at room temperature in the presence of a nitrogen-base catalyst in DMSO.

Abstract
The 11a,12-dihydrobenzo[b]benzo[5,6][1,4]oxazino[2,3-e][1,4]oxazine heterocyclic system has been used in the construction of heteropropellanes, which attracted much attention not only on the possible modification of drugs, but also for novel materials with unusual and important physical properties. In this communication, the reaction of ethyl 2-(hydroxyimino)propanoate 1 with disulfur dichloride and o-aminophenol, which gave ethyl 11a,12-dihydrobenzo[b]benzo[5,6][1,4]oxazino[2,3-e][1,4]oxazine-5a(6H)-carboxylate in moderate yield, was described. The structure of the newly synthesized compound was established by means of elemental analysis, high resolution mass-spectrometry, 1H, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry and X-ray analysis.
