Abstract
A novel protocol for the synthesis of [2.2]paracyclophane-fused N-heterocycles via palladium-catalyzed C-H activation and cyclization of [2.2]paracyclophaneacylhydrazones with vinyl azides has been developed. High regioselectivity control was realized by selective activation/functionalization of the C-H bond of highly rigid [2.2]paracyclophanes. A broad range of [2.2]paracyclophane-fused isoquinolinophane derivatives were prepared in sole regioselectivity with good functional group tolerance, which would be difficult to synthesize by other approaches in a one-step manner.

Abstract
We herein report a Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H bond coupling of N-chloroimines with maleimides, in which the [4 + 2] annulation and dehydrogenative annulation processes can be selectively achieved by simply adjusting the reaction conditions. This protocol is compatible with various functional groups, shows exquisite selectivity, and presents a concise synthetic procedure to respective products in moderate to good yields. With all these merits, this strategy may be applicable in the construction of related azaheterocyclic skeletons.

Abstract
Three short and efficient total syntheses of cassiarin C are reported, from a chromanone common key intermediate. A C-H activation strategy, under rhodium catalysis on its pivaloyl oxime, enabled the installation of the pyridine ring. Dehydrogenation of 8-O-methylcassiarin C afforded 8-O-methylcassiarin A. A kinetic experiment and DFT calculations of the intermediates helped to gain insight into the unusual site- and stereo-specific H/D exchange of cassiarin C in CD3OD.

Abstract
A facile and efficient approach to the synthesis of 1,2,5-trisubstituted imidazoles is developed via a multicomponent reaction under metal-free catalysis. Under Brønsted acid catalysis, the desired products can be obtained from readily available vinyl azides, aromatic aldehydes, and aromatic amines without generating any toxic waste. The convenient operations and high functional group compatibility indicate that this approach offers an attractive alternative method for the synthesis of imidazole derivatives.

Abstract
In this review, we focus on some interesting and recent examples of various applications of organic azides such as their intermolecular or intramolecular, under thermal, catalyzed, or noncatalyzed reaction conditions. The aforementioned reactions in the aim to prepare basic five-, six-, organometallic heterocyclic-membered systems and/or their fused analogs. This review article also provides a report on the developed methods describing the synthesis of various heterocycles from organic azides, especially those reported in recent papers (till 2020). At the outset, this review groups the synthetic methods of organic azides into different categories. Secondly, the review deals with the functionality of the azido group in chemical reactions. This is followed by a major section on the following: (1) the synthetic tools of various heterocycles from the corresponding organic azides by one-pot domino reaction; (2) the utility of the chosen catalysts in the chemoselectivity favoring C-H and C-N bonds; (3) one-pot procedures (i.e., Ugi four-component reaction); (4) nucleophilic addition, such as Aza-Michael addition; (5) cycloaddition reactions, such as [3+2] cycloaddition; (6) mixed addition/cyclization/oxygen; and (7) insertion reaction of C-H amination. The review also includes the synthetic procedures of fused heterocycles, such as quinazoline derivatives and organometal heterocycles (i.e., phosphorus-, boron- and aluminum-containing heterocycles). Due to many references that have dealt with the reactions of azides in heterocyclic synthesis (currently more than 32,000), we selected according to generality and timeliness. This is considered a recent review that focuses on selected interesting examples of various heterocycles from the mechanistic aspects of organic azides.

Abstract
A highly practical method for C-CN bond formation by C-N bond cleavage on enaminones leading to the efficient synthesis of β-cyano enones is developed. The reactions take place efficiently to provide (E)-β-cyano enones with only a molecular iodine catalyst. In addition, the additional employment of oxalic acid enables the selective synthesis of (Z)-β-cyano enones.

Abstract
A novel Pd(II)-catalyzed vinylic C-H activation and cyclization has been developed, reacting a series of small, medium, and large N-acetyl hydrazones of acylcycloalkenes with vinyl azides to access diverse cycloalkeno[c]-fused pyridine scaffolds. This protocol provides progress in C(sp2)-H bond activation of medium to large cycloalkenes, and the target products can be obtained in a specific regioselectivity with good functional group tolerance and a broad substrate scope.
