Abstract
2-Tetralones were found to undergo dithiocarbamation with elemental sulfur and isothiocyanates S8/R-NCS in the presence of N-methylpiperidine as a base catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The reaction could proceed quickly at room temperature to provide convenient access to substituted 4-hydroxythiazolidine-2-thiones with complete atom efficiency. The adducts could be easily dehydrated in neat TFA to give thiazole-2-thiones.

Abstract
A three-component reaction for the synthesis of dihydropyrrolo[3,4-e][1,3]thiazines has been developed. Elemental sulfur, maleimides, and 1,3,5-triazinanes are assembled together through sulfuration/nucleophilic attack in N-methylpyrrolidin-2-one (NMP) under mild conditions. A small amount of NaHCO3 is important for the activation of the reaction. In this method, sulfur plays a dual role in thiazine ring formation, while triazinanes are utilized as three-atom synthons in the annulation reaction.

Abstract
Here, a novel iodine-catalyzed direct cyclization of o-nitrothiophenols with cyclohexanones to phenothiazines has been described without external oxidants and hydrogen acceptors. The nitro of o-nitrothiophenol works as both a hydrogen acceptor and a coupling group, and water is the only byproduct. The reaction involves the reduction of nitro groups, C-H bond thioetherification, and C-H bond dehydroaromatization. This scheme offers broad synthetic value for further elaborations, as exemplified by a 3-step total synthesis of antipsychotic chlorpromazine.

Abstract
Phenazines, crucial constituents of nitrogen-containing heterocycles, widely exist in functional compounds. Herein, we report an anodic oxidative (4 + 2) cyclization between anilines and o-phenylenediamines for the uniform construction of phenazines in a simple undivided cell. Dual C-H amination followed by oxidation represents an outstanding step and atom efficiency. A sequence of phenazines is produced with excellent functional group tolerance at room temperature.

Abstract
Aryl sulfides are common and ubiquitous motifs in natural products and pharmaceuticals. Presented herein is the first example of the synthesis of diaryl sulfide derivatives via dehydroaromatization under simple basic conditions. Dehydroaromatization reactions between indolines or cyclohexanones with aryl thiols are performed in an environmentally benign manner by the use of air (molecular oxygen) as the oxidant, with producing water as the only byproduct. The methodology provides a simple and practical route to diaryl sulfides with wide functional groups in good to excellent yields. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that a radical process is involved in the transformation.

Abstract
A two-step synthesis of phenothiazines has been developed using a dual-catalytic ortho-thioarylation reaction of anilines as the key step. Activation of N-(2-bromophenylthio)succinimide was achieved using the super Lewis acid, iron(III) triflimide and the Lewis base, diphenyl selenide, resulting in an accelerated and efficient ortho-thioarylation reaction of various protected aniline derivatives and less reactive, unprotected analogues. The thioarylated adducts were then cyclised to the desired phenothiazines using either an Ullmann-Goldberg or Buchwald-Hartwig coupling reaction. The dual catalytic thioarylation and copper(I)-catalysed cyclisation approach was used for the four-step synthesis of methopromazine, a neuroleptic agent with antipsychotic activity.
