Abstract
Here we report a strategy that eliminates the need for photocatalysts and external additives, which provides an operable and mild method for halogen radical-enabled dearomatization of N-arylpropiolamides under an oxygen atmosphere at room temperature. The method is applicable to a wide range of substrates, extending beyond the limited scope of p-methoxyl N-phenylpropynamides. Furthermore, several functional synthetic intermediates and anticancer bioactive molecules were successfully derived from 3-halogenated azaspiro[4.5]trienones.

Abstract
We describe herein a novel stereoselective trans-iodoalkylation protocol by using three components of nucleophilic dicarbonyl compounds, iodoform and terminal alkynes. The generation of tertiary carbon radical species under mild reaction conditions allows this radical addition and stereoselective iodine atom transfer sequence with terminal alkyne to access highly synthetic applicable disubstituted vinyl iodide. The synthetic application of the present three-component photochemical protocol was demonstrated by the gram-scale reaction and product derivatization.

Abstract
Bromine induced spiro cyclization of biaryl ynones facilitated the synthesis of spiro[5,5]trienones suitable for extended functionality at the C(3') position. Herein, a step-economic photo-oxidative brominative carbannulation of biaryl ynones employing ammonium bromide and riboflavin tetraacetate (RFTA) has been developed. The reactivity between distal phenyl C-H activated ortho-annulation and dearomative ipso-annulation is well exemplified. The eminent features of the methodology include metal-free, external additive free, low-loading photocatalyst (0.1 mol %), and use of a simple precursor.

Diazo Tetramic Acids Provide Access to Natural-Like Spirocyclic Δ α,β-Butenolides through Rh(II)-Catalyzed O-H Insertion/Base-Promoted Cyclization. J Org Chem 2023. Abstract
3-Diazotetramic acids were found to be valid substrates for the recently discovered approach toward natural-like Δα,β-spirobutenolides via Rh(II)-catalyzed O-H insertion into propiolic acids followed by base-promoted intramolecular Michael addition. The target Δα,β-spirobutenolides were obtained in generally high yields and, in the case of chiral 5-monosubstituted 3-diazotetramic acids, high diastereoselectivity. The synthesis of Δα,β-spirobutenolides that we report here was virtually insensitive to the structure of the propiolic acids though it was somewhat sensitive to the structure of the 3-diazotetramic acids, thereby demonstrating quite a large scope. Thus, a new class of α-diazocarbonyl compounds suitable for the realization of the approach outlined above was identified.

Abstract
Dearomatization reactions provide rapid access to structurally complex three-dimensional molecules from simple aromatic compounds. Plenty of reports have demonstrated their utilities in the synthesis of natural products, medicinal chemistry, and materials science in the last decades. Recently, visible-light mediated photocatalysis has emerged as a powerful tool to promote many kinds of transformations. The dearomatization reactions induced by visible-light have also made significant progress during the past several years. This review provides an overview of visible-light induced dearomatization reactions classified based on the manner in which aromaticity is disrupted.
