Abstract
Planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophanes, particularly pseudo-disubstituted derivatives, are privileged scaffolds for chiral ligands and catalysts in asymmetric synthesis and have widespread applications in materials science. However, catalytic asymmetric approaches for the enantioselective synthesis of pseudo-disubstituted [2.2]paracyclophanes remain underexplored. In this study, we introduce a novel class of peptide-iminophosphorane organosuperbases to induce planar chirality in spatially stacked [2.2]paracyclophanes. This efficient protocol enables the enantioselective synthesis of a diverse array of structurally distinct pseudo-gem, pseudo-ortho, and pseudo-para [2.2]paracyclophanes, achieving high yields and excellent enantioselectivities via desymmetrization or kinetic resolution. Moreover, the products can be readily diversified through various functional group transformations. Mechanistic investigations provide valuable insights into the unique stereocontrol exhibited by this peptide-iminophosphorane catalytic system.

Abstract
Vicinal bis(tetraarylphosphonium) salts have scarcely been reported in the literature. In this study, we demonstrate that visible-light-induced difunctionalization of ortho-trifluoromethylsulfonylated diaryliodonium salts conveniently furnishes bis(phosphonium) salts without additional catalysts or photoinitiators. The methodology establishes a practical platform for the preparation of bis(phosphonium) salts using readily available tertiary phosphines. The bis(tetraarylphosphonium) salts are anticipated to garner a great deal of interest in catalytic and medicinal chemistry.

Abstract
Although methods for synthesizing chiral phosphorus scaffolds are available, the potential of this molecular chirality remains largely unexplored. Herein, we present a remote desymmetrization of prochiral biaryl phosphine oxides through an organocatalytic asymmetric arylation. This metal-free approach enables the efficient synthesis of a wide range of densely functionalized P(V)-stereogenic compounds with good to excellent yields and satisfactory enantioselectivities. Mechanistic studies reveal that hydrogen bonding and ion-pairing interactions are crucial for achieving precise stereocontrol in this transformation.

Abstract
The stereochemistry of shape-persistent molecular cages, particularly those resembling prisms, exerts significant influence on their application-specific functionalities. Although methods exist for fabricating inherently chiral prism-like cages, strategies for catalytic asymmetric synthesis of these structures in a diversity-oriented fashion remain unexplored. Herein, we introduce an unprecedented organocatalytic desymmetrization approach for the generation of inherently chiral prism-like cages via phosphonium-containing foldamer-catalyzed SNAr reactions. This methodology establishes a topological connection, enabling the facile assembly of a wide range of versatile stereogenic-at-cage building blocks possessing two highly modifiable groups. Furthermore, subsequent stereospecific transformations of the remaining chlorides and/or ethers afford convenient access to numerous functionally relevant chiral-at-cage molecules.

Abstract
Over the past three decades, chiral phase-transfer catalysts (PTCs) have emerged as highly successful organocatalysts in a diverse range of asymmetric reactions. A substantial number of chiral PTCs have now already been discovered and utilized in dependable routes to enantioenriched products. These extend beyond the classical cationic PTCs with the emergence of anionic phase-transfer catalysis and hydrogen-bonding phase-transfer catalysis providing new asymmetric synthetic approaches. Nevertheless, the application level of chiral PTCs in both academic and industrial processes is below our expectation. This Review highlights the notable advances in chiral PTCs, including challenges, limitations and efforts to overcome them. Following this, the potential for sustainable chiral PTCs is described with a focus on using photocatalysed, flow and electrochemical synthesis.

Abstract
Members of a new class of bifunctional amino quaternary phosphonium salts have been synthesized and utilized as catalysts in aldol condensation reactions, as demonstrated herein. These secondary amines feature a phosphonium ion connected by a carbon chain, enabling the quaternary phosphonium ion to engage in distinct cooperative noncovalent interactions. These interactions work in tandem to stabilize different transition state complexes, exclusively controlling competing amine-catalyzed aldol pathways via the Mannich mechanism. Comprehensive mechanistic investigations were conducted through theoretical calculations. This study uncovers a proximity-driven catalytic mechanism in which the distance between the N and the P+ of the bifunctional catalyst emerges as a critical factor determining catalytic efficacy. The method has been demonstrated through its application to the total synthesis of several bioactive natural products.

Abstract
Chiral secondary alcohols, serving as essential structural motifs, hold significant potential for diverse applications. The exploration of effective synthetic strategies toward these compounds is both attractive and challenging. Herein, we present an asymmetric oxa-Michael reaction involving aliphatic alcohols as nucleophiles and β-fluoroalkyl vinylsulfones catalyzed by bifunctional phosphonium salt (BPS), achieving high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98 % yield and 98 % ee). Additionally, a sequential process including asymmetric oxa-Michael and debenzylation, facilitated by BPS/Lewis acid cooperation, was revealed for synthesizing diverse chiral secondary alcohol compounds in high yields (81-88 %) with consistent stereoselectivities. Furthermore, mechanistic explorations and subsequent results unveiled that the enantioselectivity originates from hydrogen-bonding and ion-pair interactions between the BPS catalyst and the substrates.

Abstract
Despite the significance of chiral allene skeletons in catalysis, organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry et al., there is a scarcity of reports on axially chiral allenyl phosphorus compounds. Here, we disclosed an efficient and straightforward cascade reaction between ethynyl ketones and phosphine oxides, resulting in a broad array of trisubstituted allenes incorporating a phosphorus moiety in high yields with excellent stereoselectivities facilitated by peptide-mimic phosphonium salt (PPS) catalysis, Additionally, comprehensive series of mechanistic experiments have been conducted to elucidate that this cascade reaction proceeds via an asymmetric Pudovik addition reaction followed by a subsequent phospha-Brook rearrangement that occurs concomitantly with kinetic resolution, representing a stereospecific rearrangement and protonation process facilitating central-to-axial chirality transfer in a cascade manner. We anticipate that our research will pave the way for a promising exploration of novel stereo-induction pattern in the Pudovik addition/phospha-Brook rearrangement cascade reaction.

Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of S-stereogenic sulfinamides has garnered considerable attention due to their structural and physicochemical properties. However, catalytic asymmetric synthesis of sulfinamides still remains daunting challenges, impeding their broad application in drug discovery and development. Here, we present an approach for the synthesis of S-stereogenic sulfinamides through peptide-mimic phosphonium salt-catalyzed asymmetric skeletal reorganization of simple prochiral and/or racemic sulfoximines. This methodology allows for the facile access to a diverse array of substituted sulfinamides with excellent enantioselectivities, accommodating various substituent patterns through desymmetrization or parallel kinetic resolution process. Mechanistic experiments, coupled with density functional theory calculations, clarify a stepwise pathway involving ring-opening and ring-closing processes, with the ring-opening step identified as crucial for achieving stereoselective control. Given the prevalence of S-stereogenic centers in pharmaceuticals, we anticipate that this protocol will enhance the efficient and precise synthesis of relevant chiral molecules and their analogs, thereby contributing to advancements in drug discovery.

Abstract
Chiral P,N-ligands are of great interest and importance in the fields of metal-catalyzed enantioselective transformations and have found numerous applications spanning drug and polymer synthesis. Here, modular assembly of diverse P-stereogenic and axially chiral phosphinooxazoles ligands is achieved through palladium-catalyzed asymmetric cleavage of C-P bond/intermolecular C-H bond functionalization in high atroposelectivities and diastereoselectivities of up to >99% ee and >25:1 dr. This protocol features broad substrate scope and provides an avenue for facile construction of new P-stereogenic and axially chiral phosphinooxazoles ligands directly from the phosphonium salts and benzoxazoles/benzothiazoles. Evaluation of the synthesized P-stereogenic and axially chiral phosphinooxazoles ligands in two model catalytic asymmetric reactions illustrates the potential of our strategy to access valuable chiral molecules.
