Abstract
AIMS Perform the synthesis of novel fluoro phenyl triazoles via click chemistry with or without microwave irradiation and their evaluation as anti-proliferative agents in SiHa cells. BACKGROUND Triazoles are heterocyclic compounds containing a five-member ring with two carbon and three nitrogen atoms. They are of great importance since many of them have shown to have biological activity as antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-HIV, anti-tuberculosis, vasodilator, and anticancer agents. OBJECTIVES Synthesize novel fluoro phenyl triazoles via click chemistry and evaluate their antiproliferative activity. METHODS First, several fluorophenyl azides were prepared. Reacting these aryl azides with phenylacetylene in the presence of Cu(I) catalyst, the corresponding fluoro phenyl triazoles were obtained by two methodologies, stirring at room temperature and under microwave irradiation at 40ºC. In addition, their antiproliferative activity was evaluated in cervical cancer SiHa cells. RESULTS Fluoro phenyl triazoles were obtained within minutes by means of microwave irradiation. The compound 3f, containing two fluorine atoms next to the carbon connected to the triazole ring, was the most potent among the fluoro phenyl triazoles tested in this study. Interestingly, the addition of a fluorine atom to the phenyl triazole structure in a specific site increases its antiproliferative effect as compared to parent phenyl triazole 3a without a fluorine atom. CONCLUSION Several fluoro phenyl triazoles were obtained by reacting fluoro phenyl azides with phenylacetylene in the presence of copper sulphate, sodium ascorbate and phenanthroline. Preparation of these triazoles with MW irradiation represents a better methodology since they are obtained within minutes and higher yields of cleaner compounds are obtained. In terms of biological studies, the proximity between fluorine atom and triazole ring increases its biological activity.

Abstract
The combination of the ferrocene skeleton with pharmacophores often leads to molecules with interesting biological properties. Five ferrocene-benzofuran hybrids of different structures were synthesized by transition metal catalyzed reactions. The efficiency of both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic methods was tested. The products were characterized using 1H, 13C NMR and FTIR spectroscopy, HRMS and cyclic voltammetry. The structure of one of the new compounds was also proved with X-ray crystallography. The new hybrids showed moderate cytotoxicity on MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines. It is remarkable that the less curable MDA-MB-231 cell line was more sensitive to treatment with three ferrocene derivatives.

Recent Advances in Copper-Based Solid Heterogeneous Catalysts for Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition Reactions. Int J Mol Sci 2022; 23:ijms23042383. Abstract
The copper(I)-catalyzed azide−alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction is considered to be the most representative ligation process within the context of the “click chemistry” concept. This CuAAC reaction, which yields compounds containing a 1,2,3-triazole core, has become relevant in the construction of biologically complex systems, bioconjugation strategies, and supramolecular and material sciences. Although many CuAAC reactions are performed under homogenous conditions, heterogenous copper-based catalytic systems are gaining exponential interest, relying on the easy removal, recovery, and reusability of catalytically copper species. The present review covers the most recently developed copper-containing heterogenous solid catalytic systems that use solid inorganic/organic hybrid supports, and which have been used in promoting CuAAC reactions. Due to the demand for 1,2,3-triazoles as non-classical bioisosteres and as framework-based drugs, the CuAAC reaction promoted by solid heterogenous catalysts has greatly improved the recovery and removal of copper species, usually by simple filtration. In so doing, the solving of the toxicity issue regarding copper particles in compounds of biological interest has been achieved. This protocol is also expected to produce a practical chemical process for accessing such compounds on an industrial scale.

Abstract
The potential inhibitory effect of diverse triazolyl-ferrocene steroids on key enzymes of the estrogen biosynthesis was investigated. Test compounds were synthesized via copper-catalyzed cycloaddition of steroidal azides and ferrocenyl-alkynes using our efficient methodology published previously. Inhibition of human aromatase, steroid sulfatase (STS) and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (17β-HSD1) activities was investigated with in vitro radiosubstrate incubations. Some of the test compounds were found to be potent inhibitors of the STS. A compound bearing ferrocenyl side chain on the C-2 displayed a reversible inhibition, whereas C-16 and C-17 derivatives displayed competitive irreversible binding mechanism toward the enzyme. 17α-Triazolyl-ferrocene derivatives of 17β-estradiol exerted outstanding inhibitory effect and experiments demonstrated a key role of the ferrocenyl moiety in the enhanced binding affinity. Submicromolar IC50 and Ki parameters enroll these compounds to the group of the most effective STS inhibitors published so far. STS inhibitory potential of the steroidal ferrocenes may lead to the development of novel compounds able to suppress in situ biosynthesis of 17β-estradiol in target tissues.

Abstract
1,2,3-triazoles are popular heterocycles employed in material sciences and medicinal
chemistry as they show antiviral, antibacterial, anti-HIV, antitubercular, and antifungal
activities. Triazoles are appealing due to their stability and interesting click chemistry
properties. The Cu(I) catalyzed reaction between azides and alkynes affords the 1,4-
disubstituted derivative exclusively becoming a useful synthetic tool. However, one of the
main drawbacks of the catalyzed reaction is the need to use Cu(I), which is unstable at
standard conditions and rapidly oxidizes to the non-active Cu(II). The most common approach
when synthesizing 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles is to reduce Cu in situ employing
inorganic Cu salts and a reducing agent. The resulting Cu(I) needs to be further stabilized
with organic ligands for the reaction to take place. The aim of homogeneous catalysis
is to produce a ligand with a dual function both in reducing and stabilizing Cu(I) without interfering in the
overall reaction. Instead, heterogeneous catalysis offers more options when supporting Cu on nanoparticles,
complexes, and composites yielding the desired 1,2,3-triazoles in most cases without the need of a reducing
agent under green solvents such as ethanol and water. The catalytic activity of Ag, Ru, and Ce is also discussed.
This review exemplifies how the use of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts offers new and
green methodologies for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives. The materials supporting Cu show catalytic
properties like high surface area, acid-base sites or phase transfer. Although there is no ideal catalyst, Cu remains
the most effective metal since it is economical, abundant and readily available.

Abstract
Heterogeneous catalysis plays a key role in promoting green chemistry through many routes. The functionalizable reactive silanols highlight silica as a beguiling support for the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts. Metal active sites anchored on functionalized silica (FS) usually demonstrate the better dispersion and stability due to their firm chemical interaction with FSs. Having certain functional groups in structure, FSs can act as the useful catalysts for few organic reactions even without the need of metal active sites which are termed as the covetous reusable organocatalysts. Magnetic FSs have laid the platform where the effortless recovery of catalysts is realized just using an external magnet, resulting in the simplified reaction procedure. Using FSs of multiple functional groups, we can envisage the shortened reaction pathway and, reduced chemical uses and chemical wastes. Unstable bio-molecules like enzymes have been stabilized when they get chemically anchored on FSs. The resultant solid bio-catalysts exhibited very good reusability in many catalytic reactions. Getting provoked from the green chemistry aspects and benefits of FS-based catalysts, we confer the recent literature and progress focusing on the significance of FSs in heterogeneous catalysis. This review covers the preparative methods, types and catalytic applications of FSs. A special emphasis is given to the metal-free FS catalysts, multiple FS-based catalysts and magnetic FSs. Through this review, we presume that the contribution of FSs to green chemistry can be well understood. The future perspective of FSs and the improvements still required for implementing FS-based catalysts in practical applications have been narrated at the end of this review.
