Abstract
Artificial blood vessels made from polyurethane (PU) have been researched for many years but are not yet in clinical use. The main reason was that the PU materials are prone to degradation after contact with blood and will also cause inflammation after long-term implantation. At present, PU has made progress in biostability and biocompatibility, respectively. The PU for artificial blood vessels still requires a balance between material stability and biocompatibility to maintain its long-term stability in vivo, which needs to be further optimized. Based on the requirement of PU materials for artificial vascular applications, this paper views the development of biostable PU, bioactive PU, and bioresorbable PU. The improvement of biostable PU from the monomer structure, chemical composition, and additives are discussed to improve the long-term biostability in vivo. The surface grafting and functionalization methods of bioactive PU to reduce thrombosis and promote endothelialization for improving biocompatibility are summarized. In addition, the bioresorbable PU for tissue-engineered artificial blood vessels is discussed to balance between the degradation rate and mechanical properties. The ideal PU materials for artificial blood vessels must have good mechanical properties, stability, and biocompatibility at the same time. Finally, the application potential of PU materials in artificial vascular is prospected.

Abstract
Recently, polyurethane elastomer (TPU) has attracted more and more attention depending on its excellent optical, mechanical, and retreatment properties. The high strength of polyurethane has always been pursued, which can enable its application in more fields. In this work, an aliphatic polyurethane elastomer membrane (HRPU6) was successfully synthesized, and its strength was obviously improved by solvent annealing technology. The tensile strength and adhesion strength can reach 64.56 and 2.58 MPa, but 36.55 and 1.57 MPa only before solvent annealing, respectively. The impact strength of laminated glass based on HRPU has also been significantly improved after solvent annealing, confirmed through drop ball impact testing. It has been confirmed that the increase in strength of HRPU6 is attributed to the enhancement of hydrogen bonding and the improvement of the phase separation degree.

Study and Characterization of Regenerated Hard Foam Prepared by Polyol Hydrolysis of Waste Polyurethane. Polymers (Basel) 2023; 15:polym15061445. Abstract
In this paper, four different kinds of diols were used for the alcoholysis of waste thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers. The recycled polyether polyols were used to prepare regenerated thermosetting polyurethane rigid foam through one-step foaming. We used four different kinds of alcoholysis agents, according to different proportions of the complex, and we combined them with an alkali metal catalyst (KOH) to trigger the catalytic cleavage of the carbamate bonds in the waste polyurethane elastomers. The effects of the different types and different chain lengths of the alcoholysis agents on the degradation of the waste polyurethane elastomers and the preparation of regenerated polyurethane rigid foam were studied. Based on the viscosity, GPC, FT-IR, foaming time and compression strength, water absorption, TG, apparent density, and thermal conductivity of the recycled polyurethane foam, eight groups of optimal components were selected and discussed. The results showed that the viscosity of the recovered biodegradable materials was between 485 and 1200 mPa·s. The hard foam of the regenerated polyurethane was prepared using biodegradable materials instead of commercially available polyether polyols, and its compressive strength was between 0.131 and 0.176 MPa. The water absorption rate ranged from 0.7265 to 1.9923%. The apparent density of the foam was between 0.0303 and 0.0403 kg/m3. The thermal conductivity ranged from 0.0151 to 0.0202 W/(m·K). A large number of experimental results showed that the degradation of the waste polyurethane elastomers by the alcoholysis agents was successful. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers can not only be reconstructed, but they can also be degraded by alcoholysis to produce regenerated polyurethane rigid foam.

Abstract
Marine collagen is an ideal material for tissue engineering due to its excellent biological properties. However, the limited mechanical properties and poor stability of marine collagen limit its application in tissue engineering. Here, collagen was extracted from the skin of tilapia (Oreochromis nilotica). Collagen-thermoplastic polyurethane (Col-TPU) fibrous membranes were prepared using tilapia collagen as a foundational material, and their physicochemical and biocompatibility were investigated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results showed that thermoplastic polyurethane was successfully combined with collagen, and the triple helix structure of collagen was retained. X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry results showed relatively good compatibility between collagen and TPU.SEM results showed that the average diameter of the composite nanofiber membrane decreased with increasing thermoplastic polyurethane proportion. The mechanical evaluation and thermogravimetric analysis showed that the thermal stability and tensile properties of Col-TPU fibrous membranes were significantly improved with increasing TPU. Cytotoxicity experiments confirmed that fibrous membranes with different ratios of thermoplastic polyurethane content showed no significant toxicity to fibroblasts; Col-TPU fibrous membranes were conducive to the migration and adhesion of cells. Thus, these Col-TPU composite nanofiber membranes might be used as a potential biomaterial in tissue regeneration.
