Abstract
An effective and rapid Raman measurement scheme to determine Fe3O4 concentration in sintered ores was explored. Because sintered ores are brownish-black materials that easily absorb laser photons, accurate quantitative analysis requires obtaining an Fe3O4 peak with a high signal-to-ratio by reducing the possibility of local sample heating and degradation. For this purpose, a wide area coverage (WAC) Raman scheme with a laser-illumination diameter of 1 mm was adopted to decrease the laser power per area (LP/A) on each sample. The sintered ore sample was also wetted with water to reduce the chance of further heating by the laser. The combination of the WAC scheme and water-wetting allowed to increase the laser power during sample measurement, and the subsequent intensity (as well as the signal-to-noise ratio) of the Fe3O4 peak was elevated compared with both that measured by a Raman microscope yielding a higher LP/A and without water-wetting of the sample. In the Raman spectra of 93 real sintered ore samples measured using the proposed scheme, the ratio of Fe3O4 and Fe2O3 peak areas correlated closely (R2 = 0.94) with Fe3O4 concentration determined by titration. The demonstrated scheme is practical when Raman spectroscopy is employed for compositional analysis of dark and highly photon-absorbing samples.

Abstract
A highly selective turn-on sensor for paramagnetic Fe3+ ions based on (E)-N'-((2-aminophenyl)(phenyl)methylene)thiophene-2-carbohydrazide is successfully synthesized. The sensor BPTH is significantly selective and sensitive towards Fe3+ ions over other interfering metal ions especially Cu2+ and Co2+ ions with a lowest limit of recognition 1.48 × 10-7 M. The turn-on sensing mechanism involves enhanced charge transfer. Fe3+ ion forms strong binding with the ligand with a Ka value about 8.23 × 104 M-1 and a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio is confirmed by Job's plot experiment. With Fe3+ ion, the yellow ligand BPTH change to a green fluorescent and reversible with 1 equivalent of EDTA. Practical application of sensor is demonstrated in real sample analysis.

Abstract
A simple pyrazoline-based ''turn off'' fluorescent sensor 5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-(5-methylfuran-2-yl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole (PFM) was synthesized and well characterized by different techniques such as FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass spectrometry. The synthesized sensor PFM was utilized for the detection of Fe3+ ions. Fluorescence emission selectively quenched by Fe3+ ions compared to other metal ions (Mn2+, Al3+, Fe2+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, and Zn2+) via paramagnetic fluorescence quenching and showed good anti-interference ability over the existence of other tested metals. Under optimum conditions, the fluorescence intensity of sensor quenched by Fe3+ in the range of 0 to 3 μM with detection limit of 0.12 μM. Binding of Fe3+ ions to PFM solution were studied by fluorescent titration, revealed formation of 1:1 PFM-Fe metal complex and binding constant of complex was found to be of 1.3 × 105 M-1. Further, the fluorescent sensor has been potentially used for the detection of Fe3+ in environmental samples (river water, tap water, and sewage waste water) with satisfactory recovery values of 99-101%.

Abstract
We have prepared Schiff base functionalized 1,2,4-triazole and pyrene derivative for selective, sensitive, and naked eye colorimetric detection of Cu2+ in the mixed organic- aqueous media. Amongst the 18 different metal ions studied for absorption and fluorescence titration, only Cu2+ ion encourages the modification in spectral properties of Schiff base functionalized 1,2,4-Triazole and Pyrene Probe. The stoichiometric ratio of the TP-Cu2+ complex was determined to be 2:1 according to Job's plot. The lower detection limit estimated for Cu2+ is 0.234 nM which shows excellent sensitivity and selectivity of the present analytical method towards detection of Cu2+ ion in the mixed organic-aqueous media. The present approach has been successfully utilized for the quantitative determination of Cu2+ ion from environmental aqueous solution.

Abstract
Here, we report that ExSO3H, a synthetically accessible, water-soluble, non-toxic derivative of the clinical iron chelator deferasirox, acts as a colorimetric chemosensor that permits the detection and quantification of Fe3+ in aqueous samples at pH 2–5. In addition, we observed that a fluorescent turn-on response was produced when this chelator was allowed to interact with human serum albumin (HSA). This fluorescence was quenched in the presence of Fe3+, thus allowing us to monitor the presence of this biologically important metal cation via two independent methods.

Abstract
In this work, a series of the rhodamine 6G based derivatives 5a-5g, were synthesized. The structural framework of the synthesized compounds was established by using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR, and LC-MS analytical methods. The spectroscopic properties of the target compounds were determined by using absorption and fluorescence study in four different solvents. Furthermore, the synthesized derivatives were assessed for in-vitro screening against jack bean urease inhibition and in-silico molecular docking study. The result reveals that all the compounds exhibit good urease inhibitory activity against this enzyme but among the series, the compound 5a &5c with an IC50 values of 0.1108 ± 0.0038 μM and 0.1136 ± 0.0295 μM shows to be most auspicious inhibitory activity compared to a standard drug (Thiourea) having IC50 value 4.7201 ± 0.0546 μM. Subsequently, the molecular docking experiment was analysed to distinguish the enzyme-inhibitor binding interaction.

Abstract
A fluorescein-based nano probe was designed and synthesized for ultra-sensitive detection of Cu2+ in aqueous solution. The formation of fluorescent organic nanoparticles confirmed by using particle size analysis and scanning electron microscopy. UV-Vis. absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy displays excellent photophysical properties of prepared nanoparticles as compared to parent molecule i.e. N-(3',6'-dihydroxy-3-oxo-3,3a-dihydrospiro[isoindole-1,9'-xanthene]-2(7aH)-yl)-1-naphthamide (FNH) in acetone. A series of 18 metal ion was examined with FNH nanoparticles (FNHNPs) to examine the change in fluorescence response. Pleasingly, only copper ion (Cu2+) shows selective and sensitive fluorescence enhancement effect, which discussed on chelation-enhanced fluorescence phenomenon. Other competing metal ions does not affect the FNHNPs fluorescence enhancement induced by Cu2+ ion. The excited state complexation through chelation-enhanced fluorescence of FNHNPs was further supported by UV-Vis. absorption and fluorescence decay titration of FNHNPs with and without the addition of Cu2+. The present investigation approach serves extremely low detection limit of 1.62 ng/mL (0.024 μM) for Cu2+ in aqueous solution. In addition, benefit of present study includes practical application for the quantitative estimation of Cu2+ in drinking water sample and intracellular cell imaging for Cu2+.
