Abstract
A novel one-pot base-promoted insertion of indolyl 2-alkynes into a C-C single bond of 1,3-diketones, followed by intramolecular aldol reaction and dehydrative aromatization is described. This reaction cascade leads to the construction of 2-indolyl phenols involving the formation of the C1-C2 and C3-C4 bonds of phenols resulting from the formal insertion process with a good substrate scope. Further, these bifunctional compounds were used in a novel arylative annulation in the presence of Grignard reagents to provide chromeno-indole frameworks.

Abstract
Abstractπ-Conjugated compounds have been extensively investigated as potentially useful organic materials, however, accessible structures are currently still limited, mainly due to the lack of efficient synthetic methods. In this regard, a new synthetic strategy termed the ‘stitching reaction’ has been recently devised that allows facile access to novel types of bridged π-conjugated compounds in a convergent manner under rhodium catalysis. In addition, this synthetic strategy has been successfully applied to the preparation of π-conjugated polymers that cannot be synthesized via existing methods. Herein an overview that includes the physical properties of newly synthesized π-conjugated compounds is provided. 1 Introduction2 Synthesis of Novel Fused Oligosiloles by the Stitching Reaction and Their Properties3 Synthesis of Hydrocarbon-Based Fused π-Conjugated Compounds by the Stitching Reaction4 Synthesis of New π-Conjugated Polymers by Stitching Polymerization5 Conclusion

Abstract
This report illustrates BF3·OEt2 promoted intramolecular cascade cycloaromatization of 1,7-ynones toward synthesizing structurally diverse benzofluorene scaffolds. Remarkably, the present protocol promotes the formation of two consecutive C-C bonds intramolecularly and undergoes aromatization under mild reaction conditions to afford the tetracyclic benzo[a]fluorene frameworks. Besides, the formation of indenes was observed when 1-bromo-2-iodoarenes are relatively more electron-rich when compared with the one originating from the terminal arylacetylenes, under controlled conditions, wherein triple bond polarity has been just reversed due to the change of electronic effects exerted by the strong +M group of 1-bromo-2-iodoarenes, which is in conjugation to the connected triple bond. The same concept to generate indenes has also been extended by using aliphatic alkyne tethered ynones. Further, it was noticed that 1,7-ynones bearing the more electron-rich 1-bromo-2-iodoarenes than the arene ring arriving from the terminal arylacetylenes lead to benzo[b]fluorenes, under thermodynamic conditions, instead of delivering the benzo[a]fluorenes. In addition, this method features metal-free conditions, easily accessible starting materials, operational simplicity, gram-scale synthesis, and a wide range of substrate scopes.

Abstract
A new synthetic method for preparing fluorenes from amino group-containing biaryls and Meldrum's acid derivatives was developed. The reaction proceeded without a catalyst and loss of functional groups. The corresponding six- and seven-membered cyclic products were obtained using biaryl ether and ortho-terphenyl as substrates, respectively.

Abstract
Herein, a facile diversity-oriented approach to access functionalized benzo[a]fluorenes, benzo[b]fluorenones, and naphthyl ketones has been demonstrated via site-selective intramolecular cyclization of aryl-fused 1,6-diyn-3-ones. Synthesis of benzo[a]fluorenes and naphthyl ketones has been achieved selectively using TfOH and AgBF4, respectively, via in situ-formed acetals. Aryl-fused 1,6-diyn-3-ones undergo triflic acid-mediated intramolecular cyclization, leading to benzo[b]fluorenone derivatives via a radical intermediate as supported by EPR studies. Kinetic studies of these transformations have also been performed by UV-visible spectroscopic analysis to shed light on the reaction profile.

Abstract
A three-component synthesis of multisubstituted fluorene derivatives has been developed by devising a rhodium-catalyzed stitching reaction/remote nucleophilic substitution sequence. A variety of nucleophiles can be installed in the second step including both heteroatom and carbon nucleophiles. An efficient synthesis of 5H-benzo[a]fluoren-5-ones has also been realized using N-(2-alkynyl)benzoylpyrrole as the reaction partner through a new reaction pathway.

Abstract
We present a novel Cu-catalyzed aromatic metamorphosis of 3-aminoindazoles via oxidative cleavage of two C-N bonds of 3-aminoindazoles. This unprecedented reactivity of 3-aminoindazoles allows one to forge diverse nitrile-containing triphenylenes in decent yields via generation of the cyano group in situ. The current study reveals that 3-aminoindazoles could be harnessed as radical precursors via oxidative denitrogenation, the reaction mechanism of which was supported by density functional theory calculations.
