Abstract
Schistosomiasis is a disease affecting >200 million people worldwide, but its treatment relies on a single agent, praziquantel. To investigate new avenues for schistosomiasis control, we have conducted the first systematic analysis of bromodomain-containing proteins (BCPs) in a causative species, Schistosoma mansoni. Having identified 29 putative bromodomains (BRDs) in 22 S. mansoni proteins, we selected SmBRD3, a tandem BRD-containing BCP that shows high similarity to the human bromodomain and extra terminal domain (BET) family, for further studies. Screening 697 small molecules identified the human BET BRD inhibitor I-BET726 as a ligand for SmBRD3. An X-ray crystal structure of I-BET726 bound to the second BRD of SmBRD3 [SmBRD3(2)] enabled rational design of a quinoline-based ligand (15) with an ITC Kd = 364 ± 26.3 nM for SmBRD3(2). The ethyl ester pro-drug of compound 15 (compound 22) shows substantial effects on sexually immature larval schistosomula, sexually mature adult worms, and snail-infective miracidia in ex vivo assays.

Abstract
Deep eutectic solvents have countless advantages over normal solvents, and in addition to complying with the principles of green chemistry, depending on their nature, they can also act as catalysts. The use of deep eutectic solvents as acid catalysts has several advantages such as non-toxicity, a catalytic effect similar to or higher than the acid itself, and the possibility of recovery and reuse without significant loss of activity. In this project, A novel deep eutectic solvent (MTPPBr-PCAT-DES) was prepared from a one-to-one mole ratio of methyltriphenyl-phosphonium bromide (MTPPBr) and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (PCAT = protocatechuic acid) and characterized by various techniques such as FT-IR, TGA/DTA, densitometer, eutectic point, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and 31P NMR. Then, it was used as a novel and capable catalyst for the synthesis of pyranopyrimidines from the multicomponent condensation reaction of barbituric acid, 4-hydroxycoumarin, and aromatic aldehydes in mild conditions, short reaction times, and high yields.

Abstract
Our society is facing a tremendous challenge to become more sustainable in every sphere of life. Regarding the chemical industry, one of the most significant issues to be addressed is the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as solvents because they are petrol-derived and most of them are toxic and flammable. Among the possible solutions, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as sustainable alternatives to VOCs in organic catalyzed transformations and other fields. The advantages of these new reaction media are not only related to their more benign physical and chemical properties and, for most of them, their renewable sources but also due to the possibility of being recycled after their use, increasing the sustainability of the catalyzed process in which they are involved. However, their use as media in catalytic transformations introduces new challenges regarding the compatibility and activity of known catalysts. Therefore, designed catalysts and "à-la-carte" DESs systems have been developed to overcome this problem, to maximize the reaction outcomes and to allow the recyclability of the catalyst/media system. Over the last decade, the popularity of these solvents has steadily increased, with several examples of efficient metal-catalyzed organic transformations, showing the efficiency of the catalysts/DES system, compared to the related transformations carried out in VOCs. Additionally, due to the inherent properties of the DES, unknown transformations can be carried out using the appropriated catalyst/DES system. All these examples of sustainable catalytic processes are compiled in this review.

Abstract
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are modified versions of ionic liquids (ILs) and are formed by the fusion of polar components (liquids or solids) via hydrogen bonding interactions. DESs are prepared by the simple mixing of two or three cheap constituents (that are capable of self-association) with gentle heating, which leads to a drastic decrease in their melting points. The resultant clear homogeneous mixture consists of cations, anions, as well as neutral molecules; this will contribute both ionic and molecular solvent properties to the DESs. DESs have emerged as alternatives to conventional organic solvents and ILs, which meet different criteria such as availability, low cost, low toxicity, biodegradability, recyclability, ease of preparation method, tunable, and designer physiochemical properties. Many of them have attracted considerable attention and haave been applied in distinct fields of chemistry. To summarize the full-scale development of DESs, this review discusses the history, classifications, various methods of preparation, properties, and some major applications in catalysis in the last three years. This review is expected to be helpful for the further development of DESs based on a summary of the fundamental research in the field.

Abstract
AbstractAn indium triflate-catalyzed synthesis of primary carbamates from alcohols and urea as an ecofriendly carbonyl source has been developed. Various linear, branched, and cyclic alcohols were converted into the corresponding carbamates in good to excellent yields. This method also provided access to N-substituted ureas by carbamoylation of amines. All the products were obtained by simple filtration or crystallization, without the need for chromatographic purification. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the carbamoylation reaction proceeds through activation of urea by O-coordination with indium, followed by nucleophilic attack by the alcohol or amine on the carbonyl center of urea. The inexpensive and easily available starting materials and catalyst, the short reaction times, and the ease of product isolation highlight the inherent practicality of the developed method.

Abstract
The deep eutectic mixtures (DESs), introduced as a novel alternative to usual volatile
organic solvents for organic transformations, have attracted tremendous attention of the
research community because of their low cost, negligible vapour pressure, low toxicity, biodegradability,
recyclability, insensitivity towards moisture, and ready availability from bulk
renewable resources. Although the low melting mixture of dimethyl urea (DMU)/L-(+)-
tartaric acid (TA) is still in infancy, it is very effective as it plays multiple roles such as solvent,
catalyst and/or reagent in the same pot for many crucial organic transformations. These
unique properties of the DMU/TA mixture prompted us to provide a quick overview of where
the field stands presently and where it might be going in the near future. To our best knowledge,
no review dealing with the applications of a low melting mixture of DMU/TA appeared
in the literature except the one published in 2017, describing only the chemistry of indole systems. Therefore, we
intended to reveal the developments of this versatile, low melting mixture in the modern organic synthesis since its
first report in 2011 by Köenig’s team to date. Hopefully, the present review article will be useful to the researcher
working not only in the arena of synthetic organic chemistry but also to the scientists working in other branches of
science and technology.

Abstract
A highly efficient and air-, thermal-, and moisture-stable nickel-based catalyst with excellent magnetic properties supported on silica-coated magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles was successfully synthesized. It was well characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, vibration sample magnetometry, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, inductively coupled plasma analysis, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm analysis. The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction between aryl carbamates and/or sulfamates with arylboronic acids was selected to demonstrate the catalytic activity and efficiency of the as-prepared magnetic nanocatalyst. Using the mentioned heterogeneous nanocatalyst in such reactions generated corresponding products in good to excellent yields in which the catalyst could easily be recovered from the reaction mixture with an external magnetic field to reuse directly for the next several cycles without significant loss of its activity.
