Abstract
Introduction National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) is a cross-sectional survey that gathered information about people's health and nutrition. The aim of this study is to investigate potential associations between vitamin intake and cancer risk using this database. Methods The NHANES data set encompassed a wide range of variables, including vitamins, cancer, and others. Logistic regression models, restricted cubic splines (RCS) and subgroup analysis were used to test the potential link between vitamin consumption and cancer risk. Results In total, 29, 138 individuals were included in this study, while 2,924 of them had a diagnosis of cancer. The odds of developing cancer were reduced for persons consuming the highest quartile of dietary niacin compared to those consuming the lowest quartile [odds ratio (OR) = 0.78, 95% confidence range = 0.65, 0.95, p = 0.015]. However, after adjusting for all confounding factors, as the intake of vitamin A gradually increased, the risk of tumor occurrence correspondingly increased (OR = 1.38, 95% CI 1.13, 1.69, p = 0.002). Subgroup analysis and RCS models showed similar results. Only when the intake of folic acid is 267-367 mcg, folic acid is positively correlated with the risk of tumors. Vitamins E, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, K, alpha-carotene and beta-carotene were not associated with the risk of tumor development. Conclusion Vitamin A intake is positively correlated with the occurrence of tumors, while niacin intake is negatively correlated with the incidence of tumors. Further longitudinal studies are needed to verify these findings.

Abstract
Background In recent years, the incidence of cancers of the digestive system has been increasing, posing a severe threat to the lives and health of people around the world, and has become one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide. The three most common cancers of the digestive system include gastric, colorectal, and liver cancers, and attention has been paid to the role of diet in the progression of these cancers. However, the relationship between dietary factors and cancers of the digestive system remains to be investigated. Methods This study included 30,789 adults aged 20 years or older from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted from 2007 to 2018. It assessed the association between 30 dietary factors and digestive system cancers. Descriptive analysis was used to explore the demographic characteristics of the participants and p-values were calculated using a weighted linear regression model. Categorical variables were described as percentages, and p-values were calculated using weighted chi-square tests. Results We found that protein, vitamin B1, calcium, and iron intake were positively associated with colorectal cancer; vitamin B2 and phosphorus intake were negatively related to colorectal cancer; dietary folate and vitamin B12 intake were negatively associated with gastric cancer; vitamin D and copper intake were positively associated with gastric cancer; vitamin E intake was negatively related to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma; and lycopene, vitamin B2, calcium, iron, and zinc intake was positively associated with the development of liver cancer. Other than that, we did not observe any correlation between other dietary factors and cancers of the digestive system. Conclusion Dietary intake is associated with digestive system cancers, and more epidemiologic studies are needed to validate our results.

Abstract
In recent years, the role of coenzymes, particularly those from the vitamin B group in modulating the activity of metalloenzymes has garnered significant attention in cancer treatment strategies. Metalloenzymes play pivotal roles in various cellular processes, including DNA repair, cell signaling, and metabolism, making them promising targets for cancer therapy. This review explores the complex interplay between coenzymes, specifically vitamin Bs, and metalloenzymes in cancer pathogenesis and treatment. Vitamins are an indispensable part of daily life, essential for optimal health and well-being. Beyond their recognized roles as essential nutrients, vitamins have increasingly garnered attention for their multifaceted functions within the machinery of cellular processes. In particular, vitamin Bs have emerged as a pivotal regulator within this intricate network, exerting profound effects on the functionality of metalloenzymes. Their ability to modulate metalloenzymes involved in crucial cellular pathways implicated in cancer progression presents a compelling avenue for therapeutic intervention. Key findings indicate that vitamin Bs can influence the activity and expression of metalloenzymes, thereby affecting processes such as DNA repair and cell signaling, which are critical in cancer development and progression. Understanding the mechanisms by which these coenzymes regulate metalloenzymes holds great promise for developing novel anticancer strategies. This review summarizes current knowledge on the interactions between vitamin Bs and metalloenzymes, highlighting their potential as anticancer agents and paving the way for innovative, cell-targeted cancer treatments.

Abstract
There is inconclusive evidence on the role of dietary intake of vitamin B12 in cancer. We evaluated the association between vitamin B12 intake and cancer risk in a hospital-based case-control study, comprising 3,758 cancer cases and 2,995 controls in Vietnam. Vitamin B12 intake was derived from the validated food frequency questionnaire. Unconditional logistic regression model was used to calculate the odds ratios (ORs), and respective 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the association between vitamin B12 and cancer risk. There was a U-shaped association between vitamin B12 intake and overall risk of cancer. Individuals with intakes lower than the median intake had a 6% (OR = 1.06, 95% CI: 0.86-1.31)-107% (OR = 2.07, 95% CI: 1.58-2.71), increased risk of cancer (Ptrend<0.001), whereas those with higher intakes than the median intake had a 20% (OR = 1.20, 95% CI: 0.97-1.48)-52% (OR = 1.52, 95% CI: 1.22-1.89) increased risk of cancer (Ptrend<0.04). The excess risk of cancer associated with low intakes of vitamin B12 was observed among esophageal, lung, and breast cancer patients, whereas with high intakes of vitamin B12 among gastric cancer patients. In summary, a U-shaped association between vitamin B12 intake and increased cancer risk was observed in the Vietnamese population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With rising rates of complementary and alternative medicine use, the exploration of complementary and alternative medicine integration into oncology treatments is becoming increasingly prevalent. Vitamin B compounds including B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12, have all been proposed as potentially beneficial in cancer prevention and treatment as well as side effect management; however, many studies contain contradicting evidence regarding the utility of B vitamins within oncology. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Vitamin B supplementation in the oncology setting. DESIGN A systematic review was conducted following The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses-Scoping Reviews guidelines, using pre-specified search terms in PubMed to include randomized control trials, clinical trials, and case studies. Two reviewers independently reviewed titles, abstracts, and full-text articles for inclusion, with a third reviewer resolving conflicts, before the included articles underwent data extraction and quality appraisal. Data extraction was conducted through COVIDENCE, which was used to manage and track the data during the search process. RESULTS Out of 694 articles initially identified, 25 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. Designs of the studies varied, including randomized control trials, clinical trials, and case/cohort studies. The impact of vitamin supplementation on cancer risk varied. Several studies found that certain B vitamin supplementation lowered cancer risk: B9 and B6 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (n = 1200 patients) and in pancreatic cancer (n = 258 patients); B3 in hepatocellular carcinoma (n = 494,860 patients); B6 in breast cancer (n = 27,853 patients); and B9 in BRCA1-positive breast cancer (n = 400 patients). However, some studies found that certain B vitamin supplementation increased the risk or negative outcomes of cancer: B6 during nasopharyngeal carcinoma treatment (n = 592 patients); B6 in risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (n = 494,860 patients); and B9 plasma levels in breast cancer (n = 164 patients). Due to the many adverse effects that occur in cancer treatment, the effectiveness of Vitamin B supplementation in alleviating adverse effects was evaluated. In two separate studies, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 supplementation with acupuncture was found to be effective as adjunct therapies aimed to reduce chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (n = 23 patients and n = 104 patients, respectively). No significant findings were established regarding B vitamin supplementation in chemotherapy-induced hand-foot syndrome. CONCLUSIONS In this systematic review we concluded that B vitamin supplements have varying data regarding safety and efficacy in cancer. Taking into account the etiology of the cancer, the specific B-vitamin, and the presence of any side effects could help guide utilization of the data found in this review. Large, randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings among various cancer diagnoses and stages. Given the widespread utilization of supplements, healthcare providers should understand the safety and efficacy of vitamin B supplementation to address questions that arise in caring for those with cancer.

Abstract
Dietary factors have been extensively investigated as possible risk factors for liver cancer, but the evidence is inconclusive. Our study systematically assessed the association between 142 foods and nutrients and liver cancer risk in a Chinese population using a diet-wide association study. Based on data from 59,844 men in the Shanghai Men's Health Study (SMHS), we assessed the diet intake by dietary questionnaires. Cox regression was used to quantify the association between each food and nutrient and liver cancer risk. A false discovery rate (FDR) of 0.05 was used to select the foods and nutrients for validation. In the cohort, 431 liver cancer cases were identified during 712,373 person-years of follow-up. Retinol (HR per 1 SD increment = 1.09, 95% CI: 1.03-1.14) was associated with a higher risk of liver cancer, whereas onions (HR per 1 SD increment = 0.67, 95% CI: 0.54-0.84) and manganese (HR per 1 SD increment = 0.85, 95% CI: 0.78-0.94) were inversely associated with liver cancer risk. In the replication analysis, estimates for these foods and nutrients were similar in magnitude and direction. Our findings confirm that retinol, onions and manganese were associated with liver cancer risk, which provides reliable evidence between diet and liver cancer development.

Abstract
The liver is the only solid organ capable of regenerating itself to regain 100% of its mass and function after liver injury and/or partial hepatectomy (PH). This exceptional property represents a therapeutic opportunity for severe liver disease patients. However, liver regeneration (LR) might fail due to poorly understood causes. Here, we have investigated the regulation of liver proteome and phosphoproteome at a short time after PH (9 h), to depict a detailed mechanistic background of the early LR phase. Furthermore, we analyzed the dynamic changes of the serum proteome and metabolome of healthy living donor liver transplant (LDLT) donors at different time points after surgery. The molecular profiles from both analyses were then correlated. Insulin and FXR-FGF15/19 signaling were stimulated in mouse liver after PH, leading to the activation of the main intermediary kinases (AKT and ERK). Besides, inhibition of the hippo pathway led to an increased expression of its target genes and of one of its intermediary proteins (14-3-3 protein), contributing to cell proliferation. In association with these processes, metabolic reprogramming coupled to enhanced mitochondrial activity cope for the energy and biosynthetic requirements of LR. In human serum of LDLT donors, we identified 56 proteins and 13 metabolites statistically differential which recapitulate some of the main cellular processes orchestrating LR in its early phase. These results provide mechanisms and protein mediators of LR that might prove useful for the follow-up of the regenerative process in the liver after PH as well as preventing the occurrence of complications associated with liver resection.

Abstract
Background The risk of maternal gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) may be influenced by pregnancies conceived through assisted reproductive technology (ART). However, the influence of the dosage of B vitamins (folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12) on GDM weren't considered. Thus, we hypothesized that periconceptional B vitamins could modify maternal GDM in singleton pregnancies conceived by ART. Methods This study is a prospective cohort study using data from 3,252 women with singleton pregnancies and received a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) at 24-28 weeks of gestation. We included an interaction term in the multivariable logistic and linear regression models, respectively, to test our hypothesis. Results Women who underwent ART were significantly associated with the incidence of GDM compared with spontaneous pregnancy women. The adjusted odds ratio (aOR) was 1.59, and the 95% confidence interval (CI) was 1.08-2.34. ART pregnancies also elevated OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) 1-h blood glucose levels and OGTT 2-h blood glucose levels (P < 0.05). A positive association between dietary vitamin B6 (aOR = 1.60, 95% CI: 1.13-2.27), dietary vitamin B12 (aOR = 1.88, 95% CI: 1.34-2.64) and dietary folate (aOR = 1.66, 95% CI: 1.19-2.32) with GDM risk comparing the highest to the lowest quartile (all P trend < 0.001). The aORs of GDM for inadequate (< 400 μg/day), adequate (400-800 μg/day), and excessive (> 800 μg/day) supplemental folate intake were 1.00, 0.93, and 1.30, respectively (P trend = 0.033). Since only the supplemental folate illustrates a statistically significant interaction with ART (P for interaction < 0.05), the association between ART and GDM and OGTT blood glucose levels stratifying by supplemental folate were further evaluated. These increased risks of GDM (aOR = 1.62, 95% CI: 1.39-3.39) and the regression coefficients (β) of 1-h blood glucose (β = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.39-1.13) and 2-h blood glucose (β = 0.60, 95% CI: 0.29-0.92) in the multiple linear regression model were significant only in the ART group with excessive supplemental folate (> 800 μg/day). Conclusion The risk of GDM is significantly elevated, particularly among those women who conceived ART with the intake of excessive supplemental folate (> 800 μg/day).

Abstract
Many studies have suggested that folate plays a role in preeclampsia (PE) risks, but few studies have assessed folate-related 1-carbon metabolism (OCM)-related nutrients with the risk of PE. We hypothesized that OCM-related nutrients are associated with PE. A 1:1 matched case-control study was conducted to explore the association between dietary OCM-related nutrients intake and the risk of PE in pregnant Chinese women. Four hundred and forty pairs of pregnant women with PE and hospital-based, healthy pregnant women, matched according to gestational week (±1 week) and age (±3 years), were recruited. Dietary intake was assessed using a validated 78-item semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire. Multivariate conditional logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs. Restricted cubic splines were plotted to evaluate the dose-response relationship between dietary OCM-related nutrient intake and the risk of PE. Intake of folate, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, methionine, and total choline were inversely related to the risk of PE after adjustment for covariates (all P trend < .05). Adjusted ORs (95% CIs) for quartile 4 versus quartile 1 were 0.71 (0.55-0.93) for folate, 0.66 (0.50-0.87) for vitamin B6, 0.68 (0.52-0.88) for vitamin B12, 0.77 (0.60-0.81) for methionine, and 0.67 (0.51-0.87) for total choline. This study suggests that dietary OCM-related nutrients intake is associated with lower odds of PE in pregnant Chinese women.

Abstract
In population studies, dietary patterns clearly influence the development, progression, and therapeutic response of cancers. Nonetheless, interventional dietary trials have had relatively little impact on the prevention and treatment of malignant disease. Standardization of nutritional interventions combined with high-level mode-of-action studies holds the promise of identifying specific entities and pathways endowed with antineoplastic properties. Here, we critically review the effects of caloric restriction and more specific interventions on macro- and micronutrients in preclinical models as well as in clinical studies. We place special emphasis on the prospect of using defined nutrition-relevant molecules to enhance the efficacy of established anticancer treatments. SIGNIFICANCE The avoidance of intrinsically hypercaloric and toxic diets contributes to the prevention and cure of cancer. In addition, specific diet-induced molecules such as ketone bodies and micronutrients, including specific vitamins, have drug-like effects that are clearly demonstrable in preclinical models, mostly in the context of immunotherapies. Multiple trials are underway to determine the clinical utility of such molecules.

Abstract
Numerous pro-autophagic dietary interventions are being investigated for their potential cancer-preventive or therapeutic effects. This applies to different fasting regimens, methionine restriction and ketogenic diets. In addition, the supplementation of specific micronutrients such as nicotinamide (vitamin B3) or spermidine induces autophagy. In humans, leanness, plant-based diets (that may lead to partial methionine restriction) and high dietary uptake of spermidine are associated with a low incidence of cancers. Moreover, clinical trials have demonstrated the capacity of nicotinamide to prevent non-melanoma skin carcinogenesis. Multiple interventional trials are evaluating the capacity of autophagy-inducing regimens to improve the outcome of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Here, we discuss the mechanistic underpinnings of autophagy induction by nutritional interventions, as well as the mechanisms through which autophagy induction in malignant or immune cells improves anticancer immunosurveillance.

Abstract
Purpose To clarify the underlying regulatory mechanisms of progression from liver cirrhosis to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we analyzed the microbiomics, metabolomics, and proteomics in plasma and tissues from patients with HCC or decompensated liver cirrhosis (DC). Patients and Methods Tissues and plasma from 44 HCC patients and 28 patients with DC were collected for metabolomic analysis. 16S rRNA sequencing was performed in nine HCC tissues (HCCT), four distal noncancerous tissues (HCCN), and 11 DC tissues (DCT). Five HCC tissues had liver cirrhosis (HCCT-LC). Five hepatocellular carcinoma tissues without liver cirrhosis (HCCT-NLC) and five DCT were selected for proteomic sequencing. After combining proteomic and metabolomic analysis, we constructed a mouse model of chronic liver injury using carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and treated them with vitamin B6 (VB6). Results 16s rRNA sequence results showed that HCC tissues had higher alpha diversity. The highest LDA scores were detected for Elizabethkingia in HCCT, Subsaxibacter in DCT, and Stenotrophomon in HCCN. Metabolomics results demonstrated some metabolites, including capric acid, L-threonate, choline, alpha-D-Glucose, D-ribose, betaine, 2E-eicosenoic acid, linoleic acid, L-palmitoylcarnitine, taurodeoxycholic acid, L-pyroglutamic acid, androsterone sulfate, and phthalic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester (MEHP), had better diagnostic efficacy than AFP (AUC: 0.852; 95% CI: 0.749, 0.954). In a combined analysis of metabolomics and proteomics, we found that HCCT-LC had more obvious disorders of VB6 metabolism and pentose and glucuronate interconversions than DCT, and kynurenine metabolism disorder was more significant in HCCT-LC than in HCCT-NLC. In the CCl4-induced chronic liver injury model, after VB6 supplementation, inflammatory cell infiltration, hepatocyte edema, and degeneration were significantly improved. Conclusion We found significant differences in the flora distribution between HCCT and DC; MEHP was a new diagnostic biomarker of HCC, and VB6 ameliorated the inflammatory cell infiltration, hepatocyte edema, and degeneration in chronic liver injury.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The obesity and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk association may differ by individuals' metabolic health status. AIM To investigate the association between obesity categories and HCC risk among individuals with different metabolic health phenotypes. METHODS A case-control study among 518 HCC cases and 1,036 frequency-matched controls was conducted. Body mass index (BMI) was assessed before diagnosis. Pre-diagnosis data on dyslipidemia, hypertension, and diabetes were used to categorize participants as metabolically healthy or metabolically unhealthy. Participants were further categorized into metabolically healthy normal weight (MHNW), metabolically healthy overweight (MHOW), metabolically healthy obese (MHO), metabolically unhealthy normal weight (MUNW), metabolically unhealthy overweight (MUOW), and metabolically unhealthy obese (MHO). We used logistic regression to calculate multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS Being overweight (OR=1.68, 95%CI=1.21-2.34) or obese (OR=1.49, 95%CI=1.11-1.89) was associated with higher HCC risk. Among metabolically healthy participants, no association was found between being overweight or obese and HCC risk. However, among the metabolically unhealthy participants, being overweight (OR=1.89, 95%CI=1.31-2.72) or obese (OR=1.50, 95%CI=1.07-2.09) was associated with higher HCC risk. Compared to the MHNW phenotype, no association was found between the MHOW and MHO phenotypes and HCC risk, but the MUNW (OR=1.94, 95%CI=1.09-3.43), MUOW (OR=3.78, 95%CI=2.15-6.65), and MUO (OR=2.93, 95%CI=1.70-5.05) phenotypes were associated with higher HCC risk. CONCLUSION The association between BMI and HCC appears to be restricted to individuals with underlying metabolic abnormalities.

Abstract
Background and Aims Epidemiological evidence on the relation between one-carbon metabolism (OCM) micronutrients intake and ovarian cancer (OC) survival are limited and conflicting. We evaluated the aforementioned associations in a prospective cohort-the Ovarian Cancer Follow-Up Study. Methods A total of 635 newly diagnosed OC patients aged 18–79 y were enrolled in the present study. Dietary intake related to one-carbon metabolism, including methionine, vitamins B2, B3, B6, B9, B12, choline, and betaine, was assessed using a validated 111-item food frequency questionnaire. Deaths were ascertained until March 31, 2021, via medical records and active follow-up. Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to evaluate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for these aforementioned associations. Results During a median follow-up of 37.2 months (interquartile: 24.7–50.2 months), 114 deaths were identified. We observed an improved survival with the highest compared with the lowest tertile of dietary vitamin B6 (HR = 0.52, 95%CI: 0.32–0.84, P-trend <0.05) and choline intake (HR = 0.50, 95%CI: 0.30–0.83, P-trend <0.05). No significant associations with OC survival were observed for dietary vitamins B2, B3, B9, B12, methionine, and betaine intake. We also observed a curvilinear association between vitamin B6 intake and OC survival (P non-linear <0.05). Conclusion Our study suggests that pre-diagnosis higher intake of vitamin B6 and choline may improve OC survival. Further clarification of these associations is warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development in persons with known risk factors remain a challenge and is an urgent unmet need, considering projected increases in HCC incidence and mortality in the US. We aimed to use machine learning techniques to identify a set of demographic, lifestyle, and health history information that can be used simultaneously for population-level HCC risk prediction. METHODS Data from 377,065 participants of the NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study, among whom 647 developed HCC over 16 years of follow-up, were analyzed. The sample was randomly divided into independent training (60%) and validation (40%) sets. We evaluated 123 participant characteristics and tested 15 different machine learning algorithms for robustness in predicting HCC risk. Separately, we evaluated variables selected from multivariable logistic regression for risk prediction. RESULTS The random under-sampling boosting (RUSBoost) algorithm performed best during model testing. Fourteen participant characteristics were selected for risk prediction based on differences between cases and controls (Bonferroni-corrected p-values <0.0004) and from the most frequently used variables in the initial two decision trees of the RUSBoost learner trees. A predictive model based on the 14 variables had an AUC of 0.72 (sensitivity=0.68, specificity=0.63) and independent validation AUC of 0.65 (sensitivity=0.68, specificity=0.63). A subset of 9 variables identified through logistic regression also had an AUC of 0.72 (sensitivity=0.67, specificity=0.63) and independent validation AUC of 0.65 (sensitivity=0.70, specificity=0.61). CONCLUSION Population-level HCC risk prediction can be performed with a machine learning-based algorithm and could inform strategies for improving HCC risk reduction in at-risk groups.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the one-carbon metabolism pathway (MTR rs1805087; MTHFR rs1801133; ALDH1L1 rs2002287, rs2276731; DNMT1 rs16999593, rs2228611; DNMT3B rs2424908) and the risk of female breast cancer (BC) in a Chinese population. Methods A population-based case-control study was conducted, involving a total of 439 BC patients and 439 age-matched healthy controls. We adopted Sequence MASSarray to identify genotyping, and used immunohistochemistry (IHC) to test the expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) in tumor tissue. Results We found that rs16999593 (TC/CC vs TT: adjusted OR=1.38, 95% CI: 1.03-1.84, p=0.030) was associated with an increased risk of BC, while rs2228611 was related to a decreased BC risk (GA/AA vs GG: adjusted OR=0.74, 95% CI: 0.56-0.97, p=0.030). In addition, stratified analysis revealed that DNMT1 rs16999593, rs2228611 and ALDH1L1 rs2002287 contributed to the risk of BC, with associations with ER, PR and HER-2 expression. Conclusion In summary, this study revealed that DNMT1 rs16999593 and rs2228611 were associated with BC risk.

Abstract
B group vitamins represent essential micronutrients for myriad metabolic and regulatory processes required for human health, serving as cofactors used by hundreds of enzymes that carry out essential functions such as energy metabolism, DNA and protein synthesis and other critical functions. B vitamins and their corresponding vitamers are universally essential for all cellular life forms, from bacteria to humans. Humans are unable to synthesize most B vitamins and are therefore dependent on their diet for these essential micronutrients. More recently, another source of B vitamins has been identified which is derived from portions of the 1013 bacterial cells inhabiting the gastrointestinal tract. Here we review the expanding literature examining the relationship between B vitamins and the immune system and diverse cancers. Evidence of B vitamin’s role in immune cell regulation has accumulated in recent years and may help to clarify the disparate findings of numerous studies attempting to link B vitamins to cancer development. Much work remains to be carried out to fully clarify these relationships as the complexity of B vitamins’ essential functions complicates an unequivocal assessment of their beneficial or detrimental effects in inflammation and cancers.
