Abstract
We developed and validated scores on the Lifestyle Practices and Health Consciousness Inventory (LPHCI)-2: Brief Version, a short form for measuring global wellness (mental and physical health). Tests of internal structure (EFA, CFA, and higher-order CFA) as well as convergent validity supported the psychometric properties of LPHCI-2: Brief Version scores.

Abstract
The effectiveness of Global Wellness (combined mental and physical health) among samples of primarily White clients is well-documented in the literature. However, the Global Wellness literature is lacking research among ethnic minority populations who tend to face healthcare inequities. For example, Black and Latinx adults in the U.S. face inequities in the quality and accessibility of mental and physical healthcare services, including unique risks for anxiety and depression. In this study, a national random sample, (N = 4,009) was recruited (stratified by age, gender, and geographic region of the U.S.) of Latinx and Black adults to examine the association between Anxiety Severity and Depression Severity with Global Wellness as well as demographic differences in Global Wellness. Anxiety and depression emerged as significant negative predictors of Global Wellness and results revealed a number of demographic differences in Global Wellness. Implications for counseling practice and how mental health counselors can reduce healthcare disparities are discussed.

Abstract
This article aims to build awareness of the growing global crisis in social, economic and environmental terms from different disciplinary approaches. The authors respond to the message of Pope Francis presented in his Encyclical Letter published in 2015. The article provides a short current overview of the discourse and presents three hypotheses anchored in the disciplines of Psychology, Health and Theology for a deeper discussion of Pope Francis's viewpoints on the challenges to humankind and how to address them. It thereby contributes to the discourse on health and religion with regard to the Pope's message to the world community. The article leads to an interdisciplinary conclusion and directions for future research and practice.

Abstract
This article reviews the online-counseling literature with an emphasis on current applications and considerations for future research. It focuses on primary themes of counseling psychology including the history of process-outcome research and multiculturalism. It explores current gaps in the literature from a counseling psychology framework, including the field’s focus on normal and developmental challenges and tasks, client strength and resilience, education and career development, prevention and wellness, and multiculturalism. In general, current evidence indicates that online counseling may be a viable service option for some clients, especially those who are typically isolated; however, questions remain regarding the effectiveness and appropriateness of online counseling.

A prevention-based agenda of four fundamental goals for counseling psychology is articulated. The goals include eight training domains and objectives as well as skills needed to support a prevention agenda for counseling psychology. Barriers and adjustments needed to give renewed vitality toward prevention are discussed. Prevention resources and funding opportunities are presented.

Abstract
South Africa’s development since 1994 has been of interest to many people across the world as the diverse nature of our society, including the growing diversity of student populations at our universities, demands very special interventions and initiatives to help create a healthier society. Research at Stellenbosch University demonstrates a positive relationship between wellness (which includes its intellectual, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and occupational dimensions) and student success. The main focus of this article is on how a university can develop systemic-holistic strategies to enhance wellness. High levels of wellness in students contribute toward the formation of harmonious and healthy communities on campus, where diversity is regarded as an asset. Furthermore, these “well” students will one day enter the world of work as well-rounded professionals and global citizens who do not hesitate to continue contributing toward the creation of a better society. Academic (or cognitive) success is of vital importance; however, student success in our very diverse context requires a much wider spectrum of characteristics or graduate outcomes for them to flourish and contribute optimally.

Abstract
The wellness model is applied widely by student counselling and development practitioners in South Africa. Its holistic focus is inclusive of physical, intellectual, social, environmental, occupational, financial, emotional and spiritual dimensions of individual development. It is used for individual counselling and also to conceptualise student needs in order to plan for student counselling and development group interventions. However, no standardized measures of wellness exist for South African use. The Wellness Questionnaire for Higher Education (WQHE) was developed in response to this assessment deficiency. This article describes the psychometric properties of the WQHE as evidenced to date. The overall findings in terms of the various psychometric properties investigated confirm that (i) wellness is an observable and measureable behaviour, and (ii) the WQHE adequately operationalises the wellness model for South African students of Higher Education across gender, language and academic year level groups — thereby providing users with a valid and reliable indication of their levels of wellness.

Abstract
The need for training mental health counselors in risk and prevention is presented, and justification of the development of an innovative and integrative prevention training program is offered. Theoretical underpinnings that connect the counseling discipline to the field of prevention are described. A risk and prevention training model from Harvard Graduate School of Education is presented as a case example that illustrates the integration of prevention practices into a counselor training curriculum. Prevention research initiatives are described as vehicles for interactive learning and training. Challenges and future opportunities for programmatic implementation are reviewed with attention towards systematic planning and program design.

Abstract
Wellness is commonly conceptualized as having many dimensions, but little effort has been made to evaluate how spiritual and psychological dimensions are related to overall wellness. To explore the relationship between measures of spiritual and psychological wellness and perceived wellness in a college student population, the authors administered a series of survey instruments to 112 undergraduate students under quiet classroom conditions. They used the Life Attitude Profile to measure spiritual wellness, the Life Orientation Test and the Sense of Coherence Scale to measure psychological wellness, and the Perceived Wellness Survey to measure overall wellness. Path analysis performed with a proposed theoretical model revealed that the effect of life purpose on perceived wellness was mediated by optimism and sense of coherence, which had independent effects on perceived wellness beyond that of life purpose. The findings suggested that an optimistic outlook and sense of coherence must be present for life purpose to enhance a sense of overall well-being.
