Abstract
An efficient and environmentally friendly electrochemical oxidative selective halogenation of pyrazolones has been developed under conditions free of metals, external oxidants, and external supporting electrolytes. The reaction demonstrates good functional group tolerance and maintains high efficiency in large-scale synthesis, yielding moderate to excellent yields of the desired 4-halopyrazolones. This method provides a green and convenient route for the direct installation of a halogen moiety into bioactive pyrazolone derivatives, which can be utilized in a myriad of applications.

Abstract
We introduced an electrochemical oxidative radical cascade cyclization of olefinic amides and diselenides without a transition-metal catalyst and external oxidant. This selenocyclization reaction provided a facile method to construct C–Se and C–O bonds in one step.

Abstract
The synthesis of diarylamine is extremely important in organic chemistry. Herein, a novel electrochemical reductive arylation of nitroarenes with arylboronic acids was developed. A variety of diarylamines were synthesized without the need for transition-metal catalysts. The reaction could be scaled up efficiently in a flow cell and several derivatization reactions were carried out smoothly. Cyclic voltammetry experiments and mechanism studies showed that acetonitrile, formic acid, and triethyl phosphite all played a role in promoting this reductive arylation transformation.

Abstract
This review focuses on the reactive intermediates (disulfides, sulfenyl halides, thiyl radicals, sulfenium cations, and metal-organosulfur species) and the mechanisms of the recently reported oxidative couplings of thiols. These intermediates are generated by chemical oxidants, transition metal catalysts, electrochemistry, and photochemistry. Chemical oxidant-mediated reactions involve radical, halogenated, or cationic intermediates, or disulfides. Transition metal-catalyzed mechanisms proposed various metal-organosulfur intermediates to elucidate the reactivity and selectivity of metal catalysts. In electro- and photooxidation, direct oxidation/reduction mechanisms of reactants at the electrode or indirect oxidation/reduction of reactants in the presence of redox catalysts have been reported. The following sections are based on the products, thiosulfonates (S-S bond), sulfenamides, sulfinamides, and sulfonamides (S-N bond), sulfinates (S-O bond), thiophosphine oxides and thiophosphates (S-P bond), and sulfides, sulfoxides, and sulfones (S-C bond) and discuss the reaction mechanisms and the above-mentioned key intermediates for product formation. The contents of this review will provide helpful information, guiding the choice of oxidative coupling conditions for the synthesis of various organosulfur compounds with high yields and selectivity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The sulfinic esters are important and useful building blocks in organic synthesis. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to develop a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of sulfinic esters. MATERIALS AND METHODS Constant current electrolysis from thiols and alcohols was selected as the method for the synthesis of sulfinic esters. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION A novel electrochemical method for the synthesis of sulfinic esters from thiophenols and alcohols has been developed. Up to 27 examples of sulfinic esters have been synthesized using the current methods. This protocol shows good functional group tolerance as well as high efficiency. In addition, this protocol can be easily scaled up with good efficiency. Notably, heterocycle-containing substrates, including pyridine, thiophene, and benzothiazole, gave the desired products in good yields. A plausible reaction mechanism is proposed. CONCLUSION This research not only provides a green and efficient method for the synthesis of sulfinic esters but also shows new applications of electrochemistry in organic synthesis. It is considered that this green and efficient synthetic protocol used to prepare sulfinic esters will have good applications in the future.
