Abstract
The stereolithography process is a powerful additive manufacturing technology to fabricate scaffolds for regenerative medicine. Nevertheless, the quest for versatile inks allowing one to produce scaffolds with controlled properties is still unsatisfied. In this original article, we tackle this bottleneck by synthesizing a panel of photoprocessable hybrid copolymers composed of gelatin-graft-poly(trimethylene carbonate)s (Gel-g-PTMCn). We demonstrated that by changing the length of PTMC blocks grafted from gelatin, it is possible to tailor the final properties of the photofabricated objects. We reported here on the synthesis of Gel-g-PTMCn with various lengths of PTMC blocks grafted from gelatin using hydroxy and amino side groups of the constitutive amino acids. Then, the characterization of the resulting hybrid copolymers was fully investigated by quantitative NMR spectroscopy before rendering them photosensitive by methacrylation of the PTMC terminal groups. Homogeneous composition of the photocrosslinked hybrid polymers was demonstrated by EDX spectroscopy and electronic microscopy. To unravel the individual contribution of the PTMC moiety on the hybrid copolymer behavior, water absorption, contact angle measurements, and degradation studies were undertaken. Interestingly, the photocrosslinked materials immersed in water were examined using tensile experiments and displayed a large panel of behavior from hydrogel to elastomer-like depending on the PTMC/gel ratio. Moreover, the absence of cytotoxicity was conducted following the ISO 10993 assay. As a proof of concept, 3D porous objects were successfully fabricated using stereolithography. Those results validate the great potential of this panel of inks for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Abstract
We report herein a study on the alcohol-free, ring-opening polymerization of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) in THF, catalyzed by 1,5,7-triazabicyclo [4.4.0] ec-5-ene (TBD) with ratios nTBD/nTMC ranging between 1/20 and 1/400. In all cases, the reaction proceeds very rapidly, even faster than in the presence of alcohol initiators, and provides PTMC with molecular weights up to Mn = 34,000 g mol-1. Characterization of the obtained PTMC samples by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, triple detection size exclusion chromatography and 1H NMR spectroscopy reveals the presence of both linear and cyclic polymer chains.

Abstract
In this work, thermoreversible poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) based networks with different crosslinking densities were obtained by Diels-Alder (DA) reaction between furan-functionalized PTMC precursors and a bismaleimide. Furan-grafted PTMC with various functionalities determined by 1H-NMR analyses were prepared from telechelic PTMC oligomer, glycerol, 4,4'-methylenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) (H12MDI) and furfuryl alcohol. The formation of network structures by DA reaction between furan and maleimide groups were proved by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Although both exo and endo DA adduct forms exist, the thermally more stable exo form dominates. The thermoreversibility of networks was evidenced by FT-IR, solubility, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and rheology experiments at different temperatures. By increasing furan functionality or node concentration, denser and stiffer networks could be formed with higher Young's modulus and true stress at break in tensile tests, as well as higher crossover temperature, which indicates a nominal transition from elastic behavior to viscous state. The disruption of networks was found to occur in high temperature ranges from 130 to 160 °C, depending on their crosslinking density.
