Abstract
The subject of this investigation is a new method for the construction of sulfonylated heterocycles which overcomes the limitations of classical approaches using a cheap feedstock sulfonylating agent, especially under photocatalyst- and metal-free conditions.

Abstract
Core-shell nanocomposites with a catalytic metal-organic framework (MOF) shell are more effective and stable than bare MOF. We have successfully designed an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of benzimidazole by integrating acidic catalytic activity, and promoted the aerobic oxidation and magnetic recyclability of core-shell nanocomposite Fe3O4@SiO2@UiO-66. The Fe3O4@SiO2 core is encapsulated by the in situ-grown UiO-66 shell, and the UiO-66 shell retains the porous structure and crystallinity of UiO-66 with abundant exposed Lewis acid sites. It shows high catalytic ability for the synthesis of various benzimidazoles through the acid-catalyzed condensation and aerobic oxidation with in situ oxygen. The Fe3O4@SiO2 core provides magnetic recyclability of Fe3O4@SiO2@UiO-66, and maintains high catalytic ability and stability over six cycles.

Abstract
Recently, visible light-driven organic photochemical synthesis has been a pioneering field of interest from academic and industrial associations due to its unique features of green and sustainable chemistry. Herein, WO3ZnO/Fe3O4 was synthesized, characterized, and used as an efficient magnetic photocatalyst in the preparation of a range of 2-substituted benzimidazoles via the condensation of benzyl alcohol and o-phenylenediamine in ethanol at room temperature for the first time. The key feature of this work is focused on the in situ photocatalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohols to benzaldehydes under atmospheric air and in the absence of any further oxidant. This new heterogeneous nanophotocatalyst was characterized via XRD, FT-IR, VSM and SEM. Short reaction time, cost-effectiveness, broad substrate scope, easy work-up by an external magnet, and excellent product yield are the major advantages of the present methodology. A number of effective experimental parameters were also fully investigated to clear broadness and generality of the protocol.

Abstract
The first imidation of thioethers with free nitrene in water was realized. N-Cbz sulfilimines are formed via imidation of thioethers with free nitrene generated from α elimination of nosyloxycarbamates. In this work, water is successfully applied as solvent for free nitrene, and transition metal catalyst is not needed.
