Abstract
PURPOSE An increased risk to develop cancer is one of the most challenging negative side effects of long-term immunosuppression in organ transplant recipients and impaired cancer immunosurveillance is assumed as underlying mechanism. This study aims to elucidate transplant-related changes in the tumor immune microenvironment (TME) of cancer. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Data from 123 organ transplant recipients (kidney, heart, lung, and liver) were compared with historic data from non-immunosuppressed patients. Digital image analysis of whole-section slides was used to assess abundance and spatial distribution of T cells and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) in the TME of 117 tumor samples. Expression of programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) and human-leucocyte-antigen class I (HLA-I) was assessed on tissue microarrays. RESULTS We found a remarkably reduced immune infiltrate in the center tumor (CT) regions as well as the invasive margins (IM) of post-transplant cancers. These differences were more pronounced in the IM than in the CT and larger for CD8+ T cells than for CD3+ T cells. The Immune-score integrating results from CT and IM was also lower in transplant recipients. Density of TLS was lower in cancer samples of transplant recipients. The fraction of samples with PD-L1 expression was higher in controls whereas decreased expression of HLA-I was more common in transplant recipients. CONCLUSIONS Our study demonstrates the impact of immunosuppression on the TME and supports impaired cancer immunosurveillance as important cause of post-transplant cancer. Modern immunosuppressive protocols and cancer therapies should consider the distinct immune microenvironment of post-transplant malignancies.

Abstract
Purpose: The incidence of breast cancer following solid organ transplantation is comparable to the age-matched general population. The rate of de novo breast cancer following liver transplantation varies. Furthermore, there is limited information on the management and outcomes of breast cancer in liver transplant recipients. We aim to evaluate the impact of liver transplantation on breast cancer surgery outcomes and compare the outcomes after breast cancer surgery in liver transplant recipient in transplant versus non-transplant centers. Methods: National Inpatient Sample database was accessed to identify liver transplant recipient with breast cancer. Mortality, complications, hospital charges, and total length of stay were evaluated with multivariate logistic regression testing. Weighted multivariate regression models were employed to compare outcomes at transplant and non-transplant centers. Results: Ninety-nine women met inclusion criteria for liver transplantation + breast cancer and were compared against women with breast cancer without liver transplantation (n = 736,527). Liver transplantation + breast cancer had lower performance status as confirmed via higher Elixhauser Comorbidity Index (20.5% vs 10.2%, p < 0001). There were significantly more complications in the liver transplantation cohort when compared to the non-liver transplant recipient (15.0% vs 8.2%, p = 0.012). However, on multivariate analysis, liver transplantation was not an independent risk factor for post-operative complications following breast cancer surgery (odd ratio, 1.223, p = 0.480). Cost associated with breast cancer care was significantly higher in those with liver transplantation (2.621, p < 0.001). Breast conservation surgery in liver transplantation had shorter length of stay as compared to breast cancer alone (odds ratio, 0.568, p = 0.027) in all hospitals. Conclusion: Liver transplantation does not increase short-term mortality when undergoing breast cancer surgery. Although there were significantly more complications in the liver transplantation cohort when compared to the non-liver transplant recipient (15.0% vs 8.2%, p = 0.012), on multivariate analysis, liver transplantation was not an independent risk factor for postoperative complications following breast cancer surgery. Breast cancer management in liver transplant recipient at non-transplant centers incurred higher charges but no difference in complication rate or length of stay when compared to transplant centers.

Abstract
Benefits of solid organ transplantation in end stage organ diseases are indisputable. Malignancy is a feared complication of solid organ transplantation and is a leading cause of mortality in patients with organ transplantation. Iatrogenic immunosuppression to prevent graft rejection plays a crucial role in the cancer development in solid organ transplant recipients. Chronic exposure to immunosuppression increases the malignancy burden through deregulation of host immune defense mechanisms and unchecked proliferation of oncogenic viruses and malignancies associated with these viruses. Vigorous screening of candidates undergoing transplant evaluation for malignancies, careful assessment of donors, and vigilant monitoring of transplant recipients are necessary to prevent, detect, and manage this life-threatening complication.

Abstract
With the continuous development of kidney transplantation technique, the survival time after kidney transplantation is gradually prolonged. Thus, the malignant tumor has been the important influencing factor on the long-term survival for kidney transplantation patients. Renal cell carcinoma is a relatively common tumor after kidney transplantation. Besides, clear cell renal cell carcinoma and papillary renal cell carcinoma are the relatively common pathological types for renal cell carcinoma following kidney transplantation. However, bilateral renal cell carcinoma following kidney transplantation is comparatively rare. In this article, we presented a case of bilateral papillary renal cell carcinoma, which occurred after kidney transplantation. And the diagnosis and treatment were introduced in detail. The patient was 37 years old, and he underwent kidney transplantation 13 years ago in our hospital, because of kidney failure. After kidney transplantation, he had regular medical check-up every year. In this year, his urological ultrasound results indicated bilateral renal tumors. And then, he received abdominal and pelvic computed tomography, and the result also showed bilateral renal tumors, which were likely to be malignant tumors. After adequate consultation, the patient chose surgical treatment. The patient received long-term immunosuppressive therapy, because of kidney transplantation. Considering this, the surgeon decided to choose a staging surgical treatment, in order to reduce the bad influence of one-stage surgery. Then, the patient first underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for right renal tumor in our hospital, and he had no complications after operation. The pathological results showed papillary renal cell carcinoma. He was discharged successfully. He underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for left renal tumor in our hospital one month later, and he had no complications after operation. The pathological results also showed papillary renal cell carcinoma. He was discharged successfully two days after surgery. In the 3-month follow-up, the patient was recovering well. To sum up, the incidence of bilateral renal cell carcinoma following kidney transplantation is relatively rare, and bilateral radical nephrectomy is effective and safe treatment. Above all, it is the patient's condition that determines the choice of staging surgery or simultaneous surgery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND De novo malignancies are a major reason of long-term mortalities after liver transplantation. However, they usually receive minimal attention from most health care specialists. The current study aims to evaluate our experience of de novo malignancies after living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT). METHODS We reviewed the data of patients who underwent LDLT at our center during the period between May 2004 and December 2018. RESULTS During the study period, 640 patients underwent LDLT. After a mean follow-up period of 41.2 ± 25.8 months, 15 patients (2.3%) with de novo malignancies were diagnosed. The most common de novo malignancies were cutaneous cancers (40%), post-transplantation lymphoproliferative disorders (13.3%), colon cancers (13.3%), and breast cancers (13.3%). Acute cellular rejection (ACR) episodes occurred in 10 patients (66.7%). Mild ACR occurred in 8 patients (53.3%), and moderate ACR occurred in 2 patients (13.3%). All patients were managed with aggressive cancer treatment. The mean survival after therapy was 40.8 ± 26.4 months. The mean overall survival after LDLT was 83.9 ± 52.9 months. Twelve patients (80%) were still alive, and 3 mortalities (20%) occurred. The 1-, 5-, and 10-year overall survival rates after LDLT were 91.7%, 91.7%, and 61.1%, respectively. On multivariate regression analysis, smoking history, operation time, and development of ACR episodes were significant predictors of de novo malignancy development. CONCLUSIONS Liver transplant recipients are at high risk for the development of de novo malignancies. Early detection and aggressive management strategies are essential to improving the recipients' survival.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Following renal transplantation, the incidence of malignancies is 3-5 times higher than that of healthy individuals. Among other type of cancers, the risk of urological tumors is also elevated. However, only a few cases of de novo transitional cell carcinomas occurring in renal allografts have been reported. CASE REPORT A 63-year-old tertiary transplanted male patient was urgently hospitalized for a painless macroscopic hematuria. Ultrasonography revealed pyelectasis and a hematoma in the renal pelvis. A percutaneous nephrostomy tube was inserted. An anterograde pyelography was performed later, where a filling defect was still observable in the location of the previously reported hypoechoic mass. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography showed enhancement of the lesion. An ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy was performed. The histologic evaluation revealed a high-grade transitional cell carcinoma. A whole-body staging computed tomography scan did not show signs of metastatic disease. The renal allograft was surgically removed. No disease progression was observed during the 21-month follow-up period. CONCLUSIONS Painless hematuria and asymptomatic hydronephrosis occurring after kidney transplantation should raise the possibility of urothelial carcinoma in the kidney graft. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound should be considered as a first-line diagnostic modality because it is easily accessible and does not raise concerns about nephrotoxicity or radiation burden.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Renal transplantation is associated with an increased risk of neoplasia, including colorectal cancer (CRC). Advances in surgical techniques and immunosuppressive medications have resulted in increased survival rates of both patients and grafts, but the incidence of CRC in the Irish renal transplant population is currently unknown. The aim of this study is to review the incidence of CRC in the Irish renal transplant population and compare it to the general population. METHODS A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database of all renal transplant recipients in Ireland between January 1980 and July 2017 was performed. RESULTS Thirty-three out of 4230 transplant recipients (men = 20, women = 13) developed CRC subsequent to transplantation and were eligible for inclusion in the series. The mean age at transplantation was 51.5 years, with patients developing CRC on average 10.9 years post-transplantation; 6.1% (n = 2/33) had stage IV disease at diagnosis. The majority of patients (87.8%) had a pathologic T stage of T3/T4 and 45.5% had involvement of locoregional lymph nodes (N1/N2); 42.4% also had a mucinous component at histopathologic assessment. The incidence of CRC was higher in the transplant population compared to the general population. CONCLUSION This is the first population-based assessment of CRC development in the Irish renal transplant population. Our data suggest that Irish transplant recipients have an increased risk of being diagnosed with a more advanced tumor than the general population, with most being diagnosed almost a decade after transplantation. This highlights the need for increased awareness among patients and clinicians and the potential need for coordinated lifelong surveillance of this patient population to ensure early detection and treatment.

Cancer risks in recipients of renal transplants: a meta-analysis of cohort studies. Oncotarget 2017; 9:15375-15385. Abstract
Renal transplantation is associated with an increased risk of cancers at multiple sites; however, the relationships between increased cancer risk and participant characteristics remain unclear. We searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library to identify prospective observational studies performed up to July 2017. Totally 11 prospective studies reported data on 79,988 renal transplant recipients were included. Renal transplant recipients were found to display a higher risk of all cancers (standard incidence ratio [SIR]: 2.89; 95% CI: 2.13–3.91; P < 0.001), gastric cancer (SIR: 1.93; 95% CI: 1.60–2.34; P < 0.001), colon cancer (SIR: 1.85; 95% CI: 1.53–2.23; P < 0.001), pancreatic cancer (SIR: 1.53; 95% CI: 1.23–1.91; P < 0.001), hepatocellular carcinoma (SIR: 2.45; 95% CI: 1.63–3.66; P < 0.001), lung cancer (SIR: 1.68; 95% CI: 1.29–2.19; P < 0.001), thyroid cancer (SIR: 5.04; 95% CI: 3.79–6.71; P < 0.001), urinary bladder cancer (SIR: 3.52; 95% CI: 1.48–8.37; P = 0.004), renal cell cancer (SIR: 10.77; 95% CI: 6.40–18.12; P < 0.001), non-melanoma skin cancer (SIR: 12.14; 95% CI: 6.37–23.13; P < 0.001), melanoma (SIR: 2.48; 95% CI: 1.08–5.67; P = 0.032), Hodgkin's lymphoma (SIR: 4.90; 95% CI: 3.09–7.78; P < 0.001), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (SIR: 10.66; 95% CI: 8.54–13.31; P < 0.001), lip cancer (SIR: 29.45; 95% CI: 17.85–48.59; P < 0.001), breast cancer (SIR: 1.11; 95% CI: 1.00–1.24; P = 0.046), and ovarian cancer (SIR: 1.60; 95% CI: 1.23–2.07; P < 0.001). However, renal transplantation did not significantly influence the risks of uterine cancer (P = 0.171), and prostate cancers (P = 0.188). Our findings suggest that patients who receive renal transplantation have an increased risk of cancer at most sites, apart from uterine and prostate cancers patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Solid organ transplant recipients are at increased risk for developing malignancies. Polyomaviruses (PV) have been historically associated with experimental tumor development and recently described in association with renourinary malignancies in transplant patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between PV replication and smoking, and the development of malignant neoplasms in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS A retrospective case-control study was conducted for PV replication in all kidney biopsies and urine cytologies performed between 1998 and 2014 from kidney transplant recipients at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Polyomavirus-positive patients (n = 943) were defined as having any of the following: a kidney biopsy with PV associated nephropathy, any urine cytology demonstrating "decoy" cells, and/or significant polyomavirus BK viremia. Polyomavirus-negative matched patients (n = 943) were defined as lacking any evidence of PV replication. The incidence of malignancy (excluding nonmelanoma skin tumors) was determined in these 1886 patients and correlated with demographic data and history of smoking. RESULTS There was a 7.9% incidence of malignant tumors after a mean posttransplant follow-up of 7.9 ± 5.4 years. Among all cancer subtypes, only bladder carcinoma was significantly associated with PV replication. By multivariate analysis, only PV replication and smoking independently increased the risk of bladder cancer, relative risk, 11.7 (P = 0.0013) and 5.6 (P = 0.0053), respectively. CONCLUSIONS The findings in the current study indicate that kidney transplant recipients with PV replication and smoking are at particular risk to develop bladder carcinomas and support the need for long-term cancer surveillance in these patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical characteristics and the outcomes of primary lung cancer in renal recipients. METHODS Between January, 1988 and April, 2015, a total of 2793 consecutive patients underwent renal transplantation at our center. Fourteen (0.5%) patients subsequently developed lung cancer, for which 10 (71.4%) received surgical treatment. RESULTS The mean age of the 14 patients with post-transplant lung cancer was 50.2±8.3 years at transplantation, and 10 of them (71.4%) were former smokers. In 9 (64.3%) of 14 patients, the malignancies were detected incidentally and 5 patients were symptomatic. The average interval from transplantation to cancer diagnosis was 65.7±20.1 months. Eleven patients died from cancer metastasis or organ failure and 3 remained alive with functioning graft. The survival rates of the patients with lung cancer in different stages were statistically different (P=0.001). The overall 5-year survival rate after diagnosis was 17.9% in these 14 patients. CONCLUSION The risk of primary lung cancer might be higher in renal transplant recipients than in the general Chinese population. Routine chest screening for lung cancer in renal transplant recipients may help in early detection and treatment of the malignancy to improve the prognosis.

Abstract
We compared the clinical features, pathological features, and prognoses of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) arising in the native kidney after kidney transplantation (RCC-transplant) or on hemodialysis (RCC-HD), and analyzed predictive factors for survival at a Japanese single institution. This cohort included 42 patients in the RCC-transplant group and 467 patients in the RCC-HD group. RCC-transplant patients were younger (53 years vs. 56 years, P = 0.0358) and had less frequent symptoms (12% vs. 27%, P = 0.0344) than RCC-HD patients. Although tumor size, tumor stage, and histological subtype were not significantly different, the RCC-transplant group had less frequent multifocal occurrences and ACDK. Overall 5-year survival (RCC-transplant, 80%; RCC-hemodialysis, 76%; P = 0.3217) and 5-year cancer-specific survival (CSS; RCC-transplant, 84%; RCC-hemodialysis, 89%; P = 0.8916) were not significantly different between the two groups. Tumor stage and grade were significant predictors for CSS. Although kidney transplantation and hemodialysis were not associated with CSS, tumor stage was an independent predictor of CSS.

Abstract
It has been reported that patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT), including dialysis and kidney transplantation, tend to have an increased risk of cancer; however, studies on the degree of this risk have remained inconclusive. The present meta-analysis was therefore performed to quantify the cancer risk in patients with RRT. Cohort studies assessing overall cancer risk in RRT patients published before May 29, 2015 were included following systematic searches with of PubMed, EMBASE and the reference lists of the studies retrieved. Random-effects meta-analyses were used to pool standardized incidence rates (SIRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Heterogeneity tests, sensitivity analyses and publication bias assessment were performed. A total of 18 studies including 22 cohort studies were eventually identified, which comprised a total of 1,528,719 patients. In comparison with the general population, the pooled SIR for patients with dialysis including non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), dialysis excluding NMSC, transplantation including NMSC, transplantation excluding NMSC and RRT were 1.40 (95% CI, 1.36-1.45), 1.35 (95% CI, 1.23-1.50), 3.26 (95% CI, 2.29-4.63), 2.08 (95% CI, 1.73-2.50) and 2.01 (95% CI, 1.70-2.38), respectively. The cancer risk was particularly high in subgroups of large sample size trials, female patients, younger patients (age at first dialysis, 0-34 years; age at transplantation, 0-20 years), the first year of RRT and non-Asian transplant patients. A significant association was also found between RRT and the majority of organ-specific cancers. However, neither dialysis nor transplantation was associated with breast, body of uterus, colorectal or prostate cancer. Significant heterogeneity was found regarding the association between RRT and overall cancer as well as the majority of site-specific cancer types. However, this heterogeneity had no substantial influence on the pooled SIR for overall cancer in RRT according to the sensitivity analysis. Compared with the general population, RRT patients have a significantly increased risk of overall cancer and the majority of specific cancer types, particularly Kaposi sarcoma (KS), lip cancer and NMSC in patients subjected to kidney transplantation and cancer of the thyroid gland and kidney as well as myeloma in dialysis patients. Considering the high heterogeneity encountered, further high-quality studies are required.

Abstract
We present a case of a multifocal kidney transplant renal cell carcinoma in a 35-year-old lady, presenting 16 years after kidney transplantation, diagnosed during investigation of recurrent urinary tract infections. The patient underwent a graft nephrectomy and subsequently maintained on haemodialysis. She remained disease-free after 4 years of surveillance and thus reactivated on the transplant list. This case reinforces the fact that immunosuppressive therapy has made kidney transplantation possible; however, it is accompanied by a higher incidence of malignancy. It also reinforces the importance of lifelong screening of both native and renal transplant grafts.

Abstract
Consideration of prophylactic mastectomy surgery following transplantation requires complex medical decision-making, and bias against elective surgery exists because of concern for post-operative complications. Prevention of cancer in transplant recipients is of utmost importance, given the risks of treating malignancy in an immunosuppressed patient. We present a patient case and review of the literature to support a thorough pre-transplantation evaluation of family history and consideration of prophylactic interventions to safeguard the quality of life of transplant recipients. Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) after kidney transplantation is common and can result in significant morbidity and mortality. Their incidence and risk factors in renal transplant recipients (RTRs) vary depending on geographic location and there is a scarcity of literature describing the features of NMSC in Brazil. METHODS NMSC data were retrospectively reviewed in charts of RTRs at the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital from January 2004 to December 2005, with the objectives of: 1) evaluating the occurrence of NMSC in RTRs transplanted between 2004 and 2005 at a reference center in Brazil; 2) verifying the frequency of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in these patients according to sex, race, age, and tumor site; and 3) determining the time between transplantation and neoplasia. RESULTS We found 202 RTRs, with 165 suitable for the study. There were 19 NMSC in eleven patients (6.67%), at a mean time of 37.7 months after transplantation. The mean follow-up time was 72.7 months. The ratio of SCC:BCC was 1.1:1. White race and age ≥40 years were associated with a higher incidence of NMSC and they appeared predominantly in sun-exposed sites. CONCLUSION Regular dermatological follow-up of RTRs can help to make earlier diagnoses, resulting in better quality of life and lower morbidity and mortality.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is very common among renal transplant recipients (RTRs) as a result of the immunosuppressed status of these patients and other factors. Few studies have examined the clinical characteristics and evolution of NMSC in RTRs in tropical countries. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to characterize the epidemiology and clinical evolution of NMSC in RTRs. METHODS We conducted a retrospective study including 68 RTRs with NMSC diagnosed from July 2004 to December 2009 with a minimum follow-up of three years. We analyzed demographic and transplant- and NMSC-related data. RESULTS The mean age of patients at the first diagnosis of NMSC was 51 years (range: 29-71 years). Most first diagnoses occurred within nine years post-transplant. The majority of patients (n = 48) had Fitzpatrick skin phototype II, although NMSC was also observed in those with skin phototypes III and IV. Forty-six (67.6%) RTRs had received a kidney from a living donor. Fifty-five (80.9%) RTRs had received cytotoxic immunosuppressives, 51 (75.0%) had received calcineurin inhibitors, and two (2.9%) had received mTOR inhibitors. Most of the RTRs developed about eight NMSC lesions, but up to 25 NMSC lesions were diagnosed in one patient. Most lesions (67.6%) were located on sun-exposed areas. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) represented the predominant tumor type, accounting for 70.6% of all tumors, whereas basal cell carcinoma accounted for 29.4% of all tumors. Invasive SCC predominated over in situ SCC. Finally, 48.5% of patients had a previous history of viral warts. CONCLUSIONS Long-term use of immunosuppressive therapy increases the risk for tumor occurrence. Multiple NMSC tumors can develop in patients in tropical countries, even in patients with a high skin phototype. Therefore, RTRs should understand the high risk for the development of malignant tumors and should be properly informed about the prevention and treatment of NMSC.

Abstract
Genetic polymorphisms in cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA4) play an influential role in graft rejection and the long-term clinical outcome of organ transplantation. We investigated the association of five CTLA4 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs733618 C/T, rs4553808 A/G, rs5742909 C/T, rs231775 A/G, and rs3087243 G/A) with de novo malignancy in 1463 Chinese renal transplantation (RT) recipients who underwent a 192-month follow-up. Multivariate analyses revealed that recipient rs231775 genotype is significantly associated with tumorigenesis (P = 0.012). Multiplicative interaction between rs231775 AA and possible risk factors of malignancy revealed two significant results: rs231775 AA × primary diseases and rs231775 AA × number of HLA-mismatch. The frequency of haplotype TACAG was significantly higher in the tumor group (17.07%) than that in the nontumor group (1.53%). In addition, aristolochic acid nephropathy (P = 0.003) and the time of discovery of tumor (P = 0.000) also were independently associated with tumorigenesis. Our data show that the CTLA4 genotype rs231775 AA may be one of risk factors for the development of malignancy and haplotype TACAG was susceptible haplotype in Chinese kidney transplant recipients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With the increasing burden of organ transplant recipients and improvements in allograft outcome, the incidence of neoplasms rising from these patients is an important issue. OBJECTIVE In this study, we investigated transplant recipients with colorectal cancer to determine its incidence, clinicopathological characteristics, and prognosis. METHODS The database of Severance Hospital was queried for all cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma among transplant recipients from August 2005 to January 2013. RESULTS A total of 29 patients were diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma after transplantation, and the median age at diagnosis was 58.6 years. As for primary tumor stage, 17 (58.6%) patients had stage ≥3, and distant metastasis was found in 10 (34.4%) patients. The mean time from transplantation to tumor detection was 13.7 years. The median disease-free survival was 11.0 months and the median overall survival (OS) was 18.1 months. In multivariate analysis of prognostic factors for OS, surgical resection was a positive prognostic factor (HR 1.357, p = 0.010) and the presence of distant metastasis at diagnosis was a negative prognostic factor (HR 1.047, p = 0.006). CONCLUSION The behavior of colorectal cancer in posttransplant patients is more aggressive and refractory to treatment. A separate guideline for the colorectal screening program for the posttransplant patients needs to be established.

Abstract
De novo malignancies are a main cause for late death after liver transplantation (LT). Everolimus (ERL) is an immunosuppressive agent with antitumoral properties. The aim of the present retrospective study was to identify prognostic factors, including conversion to ERL, for patients presenting non-cutaneous de novo solid organ malignancy after LT for alcoholic cirrhosis. The study population consisted of 83 patients (presenting 100 tumors, including 75% of upper aerodigestive tract cancers), among the 398 patients who underwent LT for alcoholic cirrhosis in our center. After diagnosis, ERL was introduced in 38 patients and calcineurin-inhibitor was discontinued in 64.1% of them. Tumor stage was a significant prognostic factor with a one-yr survival at 82.6% for early stages, 63.4% for intermediate stages (N+) and 27.4% for disseminated diseases (p < 0.001). Associated relative risk factor was 2.202 (95% CI 1.044-4.644) for intermediate stages and 5.743 (95% CI 2.436-13.541) for metastatic stages. One- and five-yr survival was 77.4% and 35.2% in ERL group vs. 47.2% and 19.4% in the non-ERL group, respectively (p = 0.003). The relative risk factor for ERL was 0.447 (95%CI 0.257-0.778). Our results strongly suggest that conversion to ERL improves the prognosis of de novo malignancies after LT for alcoholic cirrhosis. Prospective studies are needed to confirm this benefit.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To date, the outcomes of transplant tourism have not been reported extensively. In addition, data about the accuracy of urine cytology for the detection and the role of the BK virus (BKV) in the carcinogenesis of urothelial carcinoma (UC) after renal transplantation are lacking. METHODS Three hundred seven patients who received deceased donor kidney transplants between January 2003 and December 2009 were retrospectively studied. The clinical parameters and outcomes between the domestic and tourist groups were compared. We also investigated the risk factors and role of BKV in the carcinogenesis of de novo UC by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS The subjects in the tourist group were older at transplantation and had a shorter dialysis time before transplantation. There were significantly higher incidence rates of BKV viruria, Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, and malignancy in the tourist group. Graft and patient survival were superior in the domestic group. A total of 43 cancers were identified, and the most common type of malignancy was UC (23 patients, 53.5%). The tourist group had a significantly higher incidence of tumors. The sensitivity and specificity of urine cytology for detecting UC were 73.9% and 94.7%, respectively. Independent predictors of UC included female sex, use of Chinese herbal medicine, and transplant tourism. Only two patients (8.7%) with UC had detectable BKV. CONCLUSIONS Transplant tourism was a risk factor for infection and de novo malignancy. Urothelial carcinoma was the most common malignancy after kidney transplantation. Regular screening for the early detection of UC by urine cytology or periodic sonographic surveys is mandatory, especially for those at high risk.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to evaluate the incidence of urological malignancies in MS patients using active screening. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 495 MS patients (141 men, 354 women, age of 42±13.4) were included in the study. The duration of disease was 12.3±11 years, and the EDSS score was 4.3 (±2.5). Patients, regardless of specific urological symptoms, were referred for urological evaluation. The outcomes of these evaluations were compared with data from the 2009 National Oncology Register of the Czech Republic. RESULTS The standardized incidence ratio (SIR) for the whole MS study population was 38.8 (95% CI 12.6-90.6). This incidence of urological malignancies in the MS study population was higher (statistically significant) than that of the general population. The SIR for females was 66.0 (95% CI 18.0-169.1) in the MS study population, representing a statistically significant increase over that of the general female population. The increase in incidence of urological malignancies in men with MS did not reach statistical significance over that of the general male population (SIR 14.7, 95% CI 0.4-81.7). CONCLUSIONS The incidence of urological cancer in MS patients as determined by active screening is significantly higher than that found in general population.

Epidemiology of post-transplant malignancy in Chinese renal transplant recipients: a single-center experience and literature review. Med Oncol 2014; 31:32. Abstract
This study investigated the incidence and types of post-transplant malignancy in Chinese renal transplant recipients and the risk factors associated with malignancy. Data from 3,462 patients who underwent renal transplantation at Beijing Friendship Hospital were combined with data from 26 previous reports describing malignancy rates in 27,170 Chinese renal transplant recipients. Between 1974 and 2014, 179/3,462 (5.17 %) patients who underwent renal transplantation at our center developed malignancy. The most common site of malignancy was the urinary system, and the most common type was urothelial transitional cell carcinoma. Combined data from our center and previous reports showed malignancy in 671 (2.19 %) Chinese renal transplant recipients. The ten most common malignancies were urothelial transitional cell carcinoma (n = 283), hepatocellular carcinoma (n = 68), gastrointestinal cancer (n = 63), renal cell carcinoma (n = 42), lymphoma (n = 42), lung cancer (n = 28), breast cancer (n = 19), skin cancer (n = 18), Kaposi's sarcoma (n = 12), and cervical cancer (n = 10). The incidence of post-transplant malignancy in renal transplant recipients was lower in China than the reported rates in other countries, and the most common sites of malignancy were the urinary and digestive system. The relative frequency of malignancy sites differed between northern and southern China. Renal transplant recipients on long-term immunosuppressive therapy should receive careful follow-up, including annual or biannual screening for malignancy in high-risk individuals.

Abstract
Background: Malignancy is a common complication after renal transplantation. Death with functioning graft and chronic graft loss are two competing outcomes in patients with post-transplant malignancies. Objectives: The purpose of our study was to evaluate the risk factors associated with cumulative incidence of these two outcomes. Patients and Methods: Fine-Gray model was used for 266 cases with post-transplant malignancy in Iran. These patients were followed-up from the diagnosis until the date of last visit, chronic graft loss, or death, subsequently. Results: At the end of the study, as competing events, chronic graft loss and death with functioning graft were seen in 27 (10.2%) and 53 cases (19.9%), respectively, while 186 cases (69.9%) were accounted as censored. The incidence rate of death was approximately two-time of the incidence rate of chronic graft loss (8.6 vs. 4.4 per 100 person-years). In multivariate analysis, significant risk factors associated with cumulative incidence of death included age (P < 0.007, subhazard ratio (SHR) = 1.03), type of cancer (P < 0.0001), and response to treatment (P < 0.0001, SHR = 0.027). The significant risk factors associated with cumulative incidence of chronic graft loss were gender (P = 0.05, SHR = 0.37), treatment modality (P < 0.0001), and response to treatment (P = 0.048, SHR = 0.47). Conclusions: Using these factors, nephrologists may predict the occurrence of graft loss or death. If the probability of graft loss was higher, physicians can decrease the immunosuppressive medications dosage to decrease the incidence of graft loss.

Abstract
Background: Renal transplantation has been associated with a significantly increased risk of developing cancers during long-term follow-up, but for bladder cancer, this risk is less clear. We therefore performed a meta-analysis to determine whether bladder cancer risk in renal transplant recipients was increased. Methods: Eligible studies were identified through searches of PubMed and other public resources. Random-effects meta-analyses were used to pool overall estimates for standardised incidence ratios (SIRs). Heterogeneity test, sensitivity analysis, and assessment of publishing bias were also performed. Results: We identified a 3.18-fold higher SIR (95% confidence intervals (CI): 1.34–7.53, P=0.008) of bladder cancer in patients following renal transplantation compared with the general population, based on data from 79 988 patients with a total follow-up of 308 458 patient-years. When stratified by ethnicity, the SIRs for bladder cancer were 2.00 (95% CI: 1.51–2.65, P=0.001) and 14.74 (95% CI: 3.66–59.35, P<0.001) between European and Asian renal transplant recipients, respectively. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that the risk of developing bladder cancer in transplant populations was increased. Such association suggests that physicians should be more vigilant in checking for bladder cancer in transplantation recipient population.

Abstract
Angiosarcoma is a rare malignant neoplasm of vascular endothelial cells. A majority are primarily in the skin. Angiosarcoma of the head and neck is the most common form, but only constitutes 0.1% of all head and neck malignancies. We present an extraordinary case of a 71-year-old man 6 months status postorthotopic liver transplant secondary to end-stage liver disease from cryptogenic cirrhosis, who presented to the liver clinic with a rapidly growing scalp tumor and hypodense lesions within the liver. Further work-up and biopsies confirmed the first documented case of primary scalp angiosarcoma with metastasis to the liver in an orthotopic liver transplant patient.

Abstract
PURPOSE Cancers complicating organ allografts are a major cause of morbidity and mortality after renal transplantation. Different registries have described an overall three to eightfold increase in cancer risk compared with the general population. This retrospective study investigated the incidence and outcome of de novo malignancies following kidney transplantation in a single German kidney transplantation center. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between 1966 and 2005, 1882 patients underwent kidney transplantation at the Erlangen-Nuremberg kidney transplantation center. The incidence and types of post-transplant malignancies were retrospectively analyzed according to the patients' records and the database of the local cancer registry. RESULTS We identified 257 malignancies in 231 patients, an overall incidence of 13.7%. The mean follow-up time was 9.9 yr (range, 0.4-25.5 yr). The observed incidence data corresponded to a 12.1-fold increase in the overall risk of developing a malignant nonskin tumor compared with the nontransplanted population. Urinary tract malignancies represented the most frequent malignancies among the nonskin tumors (32.1%), followed by gastrointestinal tract (30.7%) and gynecological (14%) cancers. When we considered the duration from renal transplantation to tumor detection and tumor-specific survival, there was no difference between patients treated with or without a cyclosporine A-based regimen. CONCLUSIONS In our study, the overall risk of developing a post-transplant nonskin malignancy was 12.1-fold higher compared with the age-matched general population. Development of solid organ malignancies is one of the most frequent causes of morbidity and mortality in renal transplant recipients; thus, close tumor screening in patients after kidney transplantations is warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Organ transplant recipients (OTRs) taking immunosuppressants are at high risk of skin cancer, which is the most common malignant condition in OTRs, so dermatologic surveillance is important for OTRs. OBJECTIVES To characterize the most common skin cancers arising from chronic immunosuppression in OTRs. METHODS A PubMed search for retrospective single- and multicenter studies reporting skin cancer incidence from 2006 to 2010 was undertaken. Data regarding each study's immunosuppressive regimen, affected skin cancer cohort, and associated risk factors were extracted. RESULTS Thirty-six articles that met our inclusion criteria reported incidences of nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC), Kaposi's sarcoma, melanoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma. NMSC was the most commonly reported cancer of all skin cancers after transplantation. Common risk factors were sex, age, sunlight exposure, and immunosuppressive agent-related (duration, type). CONCLUSION Sun education programs and frequent screenings in organ transplant clinics have provided the best preventative strategies after transplantation, although the characteristics of the immunosuppressive regimen also play an important role. Thus, the adjuvant strategy of modifying immunosuppression may be effective when confronting severe transplant-associated skin cancer. Although the decision-making process for curbing levels of immunosuppression is difficult, further long-term, randomized controlled studies should assess the effect of using less immunosuppressant medication while preserving graft function.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this review was to compare the mortality rates for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) among hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-seropositive renal transplant (RT) patients versus HBsAg-seropositive persons of the general population. METHODS A comprehensive search was performed to identify cohort studies of HBsAg-seropositive RT patients with at least 4 years of follow-up. Data were analyzed as outlined below. HCC was a rare event in regions of low and intermediate seroprevalence of HBsAg. Subsequently, studies from low and intermediate seroprevalence areas were analyzed separately from those of high seroprevalence areas. RESULTS Thirty-one retrospective studies that followed 1277 seropositive RT patients were identified for inclusion. The studies were pooled and compared to four different general population studies that included 12558 seropositive persons using Poisson methods. The mortality rate of HCC was increased in low and intermediate seroprevalence areas (RR 7.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) 3.93-15.0; RR 9.92, 95% CI 5.38-18.3). In high seroprevalence areas, the mortality rate of HCC was increased compared to one population study, but not another (RR 2.76, 95% CI 1.64-4.63; RR 1.02, 95% CI 0.61-1.69). CONCLUSIONS Mortality due to HCC was increased in low and intermediate seroprevalence areas, but the evidence was inconclusive for high seroprevalence areas.

Abstract
Solid-organ transplant recipients are at increased risk of developing cancer compared with the general population. Tumours can arise de novo, as a recurrence of a preexisting malignancy, or from the donated organ. The ATOS (Aula sobre Trasplantes de Órganos Sólidos; the Solid-Organ Transplantation Working Group) group, integrated by Spanish transplant experts, meets annually to discuss current advances in the field. In 2011, the 11th edition covered a range of new topics on cancer and transplantation. In this review we have highlighted the new concepts and best practices for managing cancer in the pre-transplant and post-transplant settings that were presented at the ATOS meeting. Immunosuppression plays a major role in oncogenesis in the transplant recipient, both through impaired immunosurveillance and through direct oncogenic activity. It is possible to transplant organs obtained from donors with a history of cancer as long as an effective minimization of malignancy transmission strategy is followed. Tumour-specific wait-periods have been proposed for the increased number of transplantation candidates with a history of malignancy; however, the patient's individual risk of death from organ failure must be taken into consideration. It is important to actively prevent tumour recurrence, especially the recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma in liver transplant recipients. To effectively manage post-transplant malignancies, it is essential to proactively monitor patients, with long-term intensive screening programs showing a reduced incidence of cancer post-transplantation. Proposed management strategies for post-transplantation malignancies include viral monitoring and prophylaxis to decrease infection-related cancer, immunosuppression modulation with lower doses of calcineurin inhibitors, and addition of or conversion to inhibitors of the mammalian target of rapamycin.

Abstract
Malignancy is a common complication after renal transplantation. However, limited data are available on post-transplant malignancy in living kidney transplantation. Therefore, we made a plan to evaluate the incidence and types of malignancies, association with the main risk factors and patient survival in a large population of living kidney transplantation. We conducted a large retrospective multicenter study on 12525 renal recipients, accounting for up to 59% of all kidney transplantation in Iran during 22 years follow up period. All information was collected from observation of individual notes or computerized records for transplant patients. Two hundred and sixty-six biopsy-proven malignancies were collected from 16 Transplant Centers in Iran; 26 different type of malignancy categorized in 5 groups were detected. The mean age of patients was 46.2±12.9 years, mean age at tumor diagnosis was 50.8±13.2 years and average time between transplantation and detection of malignancy was 50.0±48.4 months. Overall tumor incidence in recipients was 2%. Kaposis' sarcoma was the most common type of tumor. The overall mean survival time was 117.1 months (95% CI: 104.9-129.3). In multivariate analysis, the only independent risk factor associated with mortality was type of malignancy. This study revealed the lowest malignancy incidence in living unrelated kidney transplantation.

Abstract
Renal transplantation is a standard procedure for end-stage renal disease today. Due to immunosuppressive drugs and increasing survival time after renal transplantation, patients with transplanted kidneys carry an increased risk of developing malignant tumors. In this case report, 3 patients with advanced rectal cancer after renal transplantation for renal failure were treated with anterior resection or abdominoperineal resection plus total mesorectal excision, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. One patient eventually died of metastasized cancer 31 mo after therapy, although his organ grafts functioned well until his death. The other 2 patients were well during the 8 and 21 mo follow-up periods after rectal resection. We therefore strongly argue that patients with advanced rectal cancer should receive standard oncology treatment, including operation and adjuvant treatment after renal transplantation. Colorectal cancer screening in such patients appears justified.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic immunosuppression after solid-organ transplantation is associated with increased risk of developing malignancies. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical characteristics and the outcome of thoracic malignancies in patients who have undergone solid-organ transplantation. METHODS Among a cohort of 2831 patients who received a transplant at our institution and were followed between 1984 and 2009, 24 patients (0.85%) developed thoracic malignancies. Risk factors for lung cancer, as well as demographic, cancer, and transplantation characteristics, were analyzed. Survival data were also collected. RESULTS Twenty-four patients were included (21 men, median age 61.7 years). Twenty-two patients were smokers. The most frequent histologic types were squamous cell carcinoma (n = 11, 46%) and adenocarcinoma (n = 9, 37%). The median time period between transplantation and diagnosis of lung cancer was 6.6 years. Ten lung malignancies occurred after kidney transplantation (0.5%), eight after liver transplantation (1.3%), and six after heart transplantation (2.8%). Seven patients underwent surgery, three had radiotherapy, four had chemotherapy, and six had multimodal treatment. The median survival time was 1.5 years, ranging from 6 months for stage IV to 3.7 years for stage I. CONCLUSION Solid-organ transplantation is associated with a high risk of lung cancer and may have an important synergetic part with other risk factors for lung cancer (tobacco). However, survival rates from lung cancer in our study population are similar to those of nontransplanted patients. In addition, surgery can result in favorable survival results.

Abstract
There is increasing evidence that nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) are the most frequently observed tumors in transplant recipients. The incidence of posttransplantation NMSC was determined using our dermatologic screening program. Included in the study were 116 white adults (70 men and 46 women; median age, 49.3 years) who had undergone kidney or combined kidney-pancreas transplantation, with follow-up from September 2008 to December 2009. All patients underwent a full skin examination for NMSC, and completed a standardized questionnaire. Screening resulted in detection of 16 NMSCs in 11 patients out of 116 (9.5%). Lesions were equally distributed by sex, and were detected at a median of 4.1 years posttransplantation. Histologic analysis verified 13 basal cell carcinomas and 3 squamous cell carcinomas (ratio, 4:1). The incidence of NMSC was significantly greater in patients who received cyclosporine immunosuppression therapy (16 vs 1; P < .05), had experienced 2 or more painful sunburns before transplantation (10 vs 11), or worked outdoors (10 vs 11). These data indicate the relevance of skin cancer surveillance in transplant recipients. Our results correspond to international statistics except for the ratio of basal cell carcinoma to squamous cell carcinoma. Further studies are needed to elucidate the reasons for this difference.

Abstract
In a long-term cohort study, we calculated cancer incidences and survival rates after the development of these cancers in kidney-transplant recipients. The cancer incidences were compared with those in the general population. The occurrence of cancer was recorded in all patients who received kidney transplantation between 1966 and 2006. The median follow-up time was more than 9 years with a maximum of almost 40 years. Altogether 327 (17%) of 1906 patients developed cancer after transplantation: 142 (7%) had non-cutaneous malignancies; 178 (9%) cutaneous squamous-cell carcinomas and 138 (7%) basal-cell carcinomas. The cumulative incidence of any cancer was 13%, 33% and 47% after 10, 20 and 30 years, respectively. The incidences of cancers of the oral cavity, stomach, female genital organs, kidney, thyroid gland, leukemias and lymphomas, and cutaneous squamous-cell carcinoma were significantly increased with a highest standardized morbidity ratio of 40 for cutaneous squamous-cell carcinomas. Survival rates after non-cutaneous malignancies were 57%, 43% and 36% and after non-melanocytic skin cancer 99%, 90% and 77% after 1, 3 and 5 years, respectively. The increased incidence of non-cutaneous malignancies after kidney transplantation is associated with a high mortality. Prevention of cancer after kidney transplantation should be a major focus of future research.

Thyroid nodules are common in the adult population. Widespread use of sensitive imaging studies often leads to their incidental discovery. Recent guidelines recommend thyroid-stimulating hormone determination and ultrasonography during initial nodule evaluation. Fine-needle aspiration is often performed to detect malignancy. However, the management of thyroid nodules in cardiac transplantation patients has not been directly addressed by recent guidelines. Confounding medications such as amiodarone and anti-coagulants present a management dilemma. The timing of fine-needle aspiration is crucial because (1) malignancy diagnosed pre-operatively usually precludes organ transplantation, and (2) patients undergoing solid-organ transplantation are at increased risk of developing de novo malignancies, including thyroid. With the rising incidence of thyroid cancer, donor-related malignancy will likely become a more prominent issue. This review addresses thyroid nodule management in the cardiac transplant population and provides recommendations for organ donation and transplantation in donors and recipients with thyroid cancer.

Abstract
Malignant diseases are considered as great challenges in clinical transplantation. It is well known that the incidence of malignancy is higher in the transplanted population if compared with the normal population. It is important to distinguish between neoplastic diseases originating from pre-existing lesions in the transplanted organs and de novo graft tumours. Post-transplant malignancy of donor origin is a rare complication of organ transplantation, most likely transmitted as micrometastases within the parenchyma of the donor organ or from circulating tumour cells contained within the organ. Malignant melanoma, although its incidence is rather low, is one of the most common donor-derived tumour inadvertently transplanted, comprising 28% of donor transmitted tumours. Malignant melanoma in the graft without dermatological localisation is extremely rare. We report a case of de novo melanoma occurring in the allograft, where transmission from the donor was excluded by DNA (desoxyribonucleic acid) investigation. We did not find any data in the literature where a malignant melanoma occurred after transplantation in the transplanted kidney without any skin lesions and the donor origin was excluded. We draw attention to the importance of the DNA typing in case of tumours occurring in immunosuppressed patients.

Abstract
Renal transplant recipients have increased mortality rates when compared with the general population. The new immunosuppressive drugs have improved short-term patient survival up to 95% at 1-2 years, but these data have to be confirmed in long-term follow-up. Furthermore, no particular regimen has proved to be superior over others with regard to patient survival. Cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of mortality in renal transplant recipients and while no immunosuppressive drug has been directly associated with cardiovascular events, immunosuppressive drugs have different impacts on traditional risk factors. Corticosteroids and ciclosporin are the agents with the most negative impact on weight gain, blood pressure and lipids. Tacrolimus increases the risk of new-onset diabetes mellitus. Sirolimus and everolimus have the most impact on risk factors for post-transplant hyperlipidaemia. Modifications in immunosuppression could improve the cardiovascular profile but there is little evidence regarding the beneficial effects of these changes on patient outcomes. Malignancies are also an increasing cause of mortality, overtaking cardiovascular disease in some series. Induction therapy, azathioprine and calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) are probably the immunosuppressive agents most linked with post-transplant malignancies. Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) has no negative impact on the incidence of malignancies. Target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors have antioncogenic properties and they are associated with a lower incidence of malignancies. In addition, these agents have been recommended for use to decrease the dose or withdrawal of CNIs in patients with malignancies. Infections are still an important cause of morbidity and mortality in renal transplant recipients. Some immunosuppressive agents such as MMF increase the incidence of cytomegalovirus infection and the need for prophylactic measures in risk recipients. The use of potent immunosuppressive therapy has resulted in the appearance of BK virus nephropathy, which progresses to graft failure in a high percentage of patients. Although first associated with tacrolimus and MMF immunosuppression, recent data suggest that BK nephropathy appears with any kind of triple therapy. In conclusion, reducing risk factors for patient death should be a major target to improve outcomes after renal transplantation. Effort should be made to control cardiovascular diseases, malignancies and infections with improved use of immunosuppressive drugs. Preliminary results with belatacept suggest its safety and efficacy, and open new perspectives in the immunosuppression of de novo renal transplant recipients.

Abstract
The increasing frequency of malignant tumors developing during chronic immunosuppression is an important determinant of the long-term survival of organ transplanted patients. This problem can be solved only if we are aware of the special characteristics concerning our patients. The incidence and frequency of tumors occurring in kidney transplant recipients differ from those of the Hungarian population. The increased tumor risk resulting from chronic renal failure, increasing age of prospective kidney recipients and, in addition, the increasing frequency of tumors diagnosed in the early post-transplantation period emphasize the importance of regular oncological screening of patients on the waiting list. Early diagnosis and treatment of tumors and precancerous conditions are equally important in transplanted patients as well, and the tumor risk could be decreased by applying low dose immunosuppression and the preferential usage of immunosuppressive drugs with an oncologically favorable effect. The prognosis of post-transplantation tumors is poor, as they respond poorly to therapy. Lymphomas are of great importance because of their frequency. Different immunosuppressive regimens represent varying degrees of risk in lymphoma development. This risk is lower in the case of mycophenolic acid. The composition of immunosuppression is a major factor in treatment; an oncologically ideal compound would prevent organ rejection and, at the same time, would not counteract oncological therapy. We have shown that mycophenolic acid inhibits the proliferation of human B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas and induces apoptosis by activating the intrinsic pathway, both in vitro and in vivo. The favorable properties of mycophenolic acid suggest that it can provide the necessary immunoprotection for the transplanted organ and, given its anti-lymphoma effects, it may also prove useful in the therapy of lymphoma patients. It may also be helpful in the treatment of "traditional" lymphomas of the non-transplanted population, where the major cause of therapeutical failure is the development of apoptosis resistance. Mycophenolic acid, combined with other chemotherapeutical drugs, may enhance apoptosis in lymphoma cells. Our promising experimental results provide a basis for further, clinical studies.
