Abstract
Background The development of prenatal diagnosis technology allows prompt detection of severe fetal diseases. To address adverse factors that threaten fetal survival, fetal therapy came into existence, which aims to preserve the function after birth to a higher degree and improve the quality of life. Objective To conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of studies on fetal therapy in the past decade and explore the research trends and hotspots in this field. Methods We conducted a systematic search on the Web of Science Core Collection to retrieve studies related to fetal therapy published from 2012 to 2022. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze the key features of studies, including annual output, countries/regions, institutions, authors, references, research hotspots, and frontiers. Results A total of 9,715 articles were included after eliminating duplicates. The annual distribution of the number of articles showed that the number of articles published in fetal therapy had increased in the past decade. Countries and institutions showed that fetal therapy is more mature in the United States. Author analysis showed the core investigators in the field. Keyword analysis showed the clustering and emergence frequency, which helped summarize the research results and frontier hotspots in this field. The cocited references were sorted out to determine the literature with a high ranking of fetal therapy in recent years, and the research trend in recent years was analyzed. Conclusions This study reveals that countries, institutions, and researchers should promote wider cooperation and establish multicenter research cooperation in fetal therapy research. Moreover, fetal therapy has been gradually explored from traditional surgical treatment to gene therapy and stem cell therapy. In recent years, fetoscopic laser surgery, guideline, and magnetic resonance imaging have become the research hotspots in the field.

Abstract
Fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly being used worldwide as a complementary tool to prenatal ultrasound (US) for multiple fetal pathologies. The aim of this article is to describe and illustrate how MRI can help US to evaluate fetal abdominal anomalies, based on cases performed in a tertiary public university hospital. Prenatal US, fetal MRI and postnatal imaging of these cases will be shown side-by-side to describe and illustrate the added value of fetal MRI in the different organs/systems and its impact on clinical management.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES In this study, we hypothesized that the pyloric sphincter can be directly visualized by ultrasonography in the prenatal period. METHODS This study was designed as a cross-section. Single, healthy pregnancies between 18 and 22 weeks of gestation who applied to the Perinatology outpatient clinic for second-level ultrasonography were included in the study. In addition to the demographic characteristics of the participants, fetal pyloric mucosa, fetal pyloric sphincter length, and fetal pyloric sphincter thickness were measured by ultrasonography. Intrarater variability was calculated. RESULTS A total of 93 eligible patients were evaluated in the study. The mean age of the participants was 27.25 ± 6.23, and the gestational age was 21.18 ± 0.98. Pylorus imaging and measurements were possible in all fetuses that were in the optimal position. Mean pyloric sphincter length (mm) was 5.32 ± 0.93, pyloric sphincter thickness (mm) was 2.13 ± 0.44, and sphincter muscle thickness (mm) was 1.05 ± 0.24. CONCLUSIONS The pyloric sphincter can be easily visualized on a second-trimester ultrasound scan when the appropriate technique is used. This may make an additional contribution to the diagnosis of fetal gastrointestinal tract pathologies.

Abstract
The indications for fetal body MRI are amplifying because of the expanding possibilities of fetal and perinatal therapy. However, huge heterogeneity regarding the indications for fetal body MRI is seen among different European countries that is mostly related to local use of US, but also to local fetal MRI expertise and legislation on pregnancy termination. The purpose of this article is to summarize the precise indications for fetal MRI, excluding the central nervous system. MRI indications arise from the sonographic findings, based on the operator's experience and the various practices in the countries and institutions represented on the European Society of Paediatric Radiology Fetal Task Force. We also highlight the strengths and weaknesses of fetal US and MRI of the fetal body.

Background
Birth defects and congenital anomalies are different words used to describe developmental abnormalities that occur at birth. Congenital anomalies diagnosis during pregnancy is a difficult topic to which ultrasonography has made significant contributions. The availability of a generally safe, independent technique in the evaluation of prenatal anomalies would be a welcomed clinical and scientific alternative. Ultrasound (US) is the predominant modality for evaluating disorders related to fetus and pregnancy. In most situations, this examination by a professional operator offers sufficient information about fetal morphology, surroundings, and well-being. The abnormalities revealed by ultrasound can be subtle or inconclusive at times. MRI has been demonstrated to be useful in such circumstances in various studies. So the effective use of fetal MRI in the evaluation of non-CNS abnormalities of the body is a reason for adopting fetal MRI as an adjunct to US in obstetric imaging. This study aimed to examine the role of fetal MRI as a complementary method to the antenatal US in assessing non-CNS anomalies and how it changed or modified the diagnosis of anomalies.
Results
By analyzing the data of 30 pregnant females with fetal non-CNS congenital anomalies, the diagnostic accuracy of prenatal ultrasound alone in the detection of congenital anomalies was 76%, with a sensitivity of about 76%. And diagnostic accuracy of MRI alone was 96.6%, with a sensitivity of approximately 96.6%. Moreover, the diagnostic accuracy of combined prenatal US and prenatal MRI in the detection of congenital anomalies was 100%, with sensitivity about 100% and PPV about 100%.
Conclusion
Fetal MRI raises confidence in non-CNS malformation assessment. Compared to US, MRI overcomes many of the obstacles faced by the antenatal US. MRI is superior to the US in refining, changing, or adding more diagnostic information about the disease.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Bowel obstructions beyond the duodenum represent a heterogeneous group of congenital anomalies with a highly variable prognosis, the main issue being postnatal short bowel syndrome (SBS). The objective of our study was to evaluate the contributions of fetal MRI in cases of bowel obstruction. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective analysis of all newborns, for whom both ante-natal ultrasound and fetal MRI were available, referred to our center for suspected bowel obstruction was performed. Examinations were reviewed blinded to the postnatal outcome. Key outcome measures included exact diagnosis and the existence of postoperative SBS. We evaluated the contribution of MRI in determining precise location and etiology of the bowel obstruction, dilatation of the proximal bowel loops, and assessment of the quality of the remaining distal bowel loops. RESULTS Twenty-five newborns were included. There were 19 single obstructions and 6 complex forms (4 apple peel syndromes and 2 multiple atresias). MRI correctly identified the affected segment of the small bowel in 59.1% of the cases. MRI identified the mechanism of obstruction in 72% of cases. MRI reliably predicted an abnormal appearance of the bowel distal to the obstruction in 100% of the severe cases (3/3) and in 66.7% of complex forms (4/6). CONCLUSION Our study suggests that fetal MRI, when done in addition to prenatal ultrasound, is contributory in the management of fetuses with suspected bowel obstruction. MRI may be particularly useful in determining the location and origin of the bowel obstruction and in assessing the quality of the bowel distal to the obstruction, which might assist in the prediction of SBS and more detailed prenatal counseling.
