Abstract
To build a portable and sensitive method for monitoring the concentration of the flavonoid rutin, a new electrochemical sensing procedure was established. By using nitrogen-doped carbonized polymer dots (N-CPDs) anchoring few-layer black phosphorene (N-CPDs@FLBP) 0D-2D heterostructure and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as the modifiers, a carbon ionic liquid electrode and a screen-printed electrode (SPE) were used as the substrate electrodes to construct a conventional electrochemical sensor and a portable wireless intelligent electrochemical sensor, respectively. The electrochemical behavior of rutin on the fabricated electrochemical sensors was explored in detail, with the analytical performances investigated. Due to the electroactive groups of rutin, and the specific π-π stacking and cation-π interaction between the nanocomposite with rutin, the electrochemical responses of rutin were greatly enhanced on the AuNPs/N-CPDs@FLBP-modified electrodes. Under the optimal conditions, ultra-sensitive detection of rutin could be realized on AuNPs/N-CPDs@FLBP/SPE with the detection range of 1.0 nmol L-1 to 220.0 μmol L-1 and the detection limit of 0.33 nmol L-1 (S/N = 3). Finally, two kinds of sensors were applied to test the real samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
This report outlines the synthesis of an ionic liquid-based pH-responsive indicator to sense acids or bases in non-polar as well as polar solvents. Herein, we have assembled a new ionic liquid (IL) comprised of a group of uniform materials based on organic salts (GUMBOS) by attaching a quaternary phosphonium ionic liquid with a very common acid-base indicator, methyl orange, via simple ion-exchange reaction. This integrated IL-based indicator is highly soluble in less polar solvents and exhibits good sensitivity toward the presence of acids/bases in those media. Furthermore, this indicator has been exploited in determining the dissociation constants of several acids in non-aqueous aprotic solvents by overlapping indicator method and hence this report provides essential information toward the understanding of many fundamental chemical reactions. This report has further scope for the synthesis of novel aqueous suspended nanomaterials, i.e., the nanoparticles derived from GUMBOS (nanoGUMBOS) by a simple flash nano-precipitation method. The nanomaterial has been well characterized by different spectroscopic and microscopic studies. The obtained nanoparticles also exhibit substantial pH-responsive behaviors in aqueous medium and show better susceptibility as compared to the free organic indicator. Thus, this report explores detailed studies on the IL-based indicator in sensing the acidity/basicity of various media.

Abstract
AbstractRutin is a flavonoid commonly employed for many therapeutic purposes. Although the electroactive phenolic groups of rutin might be oxidized at low applied potential, the adsorption of oxidized species changes the electrode surface. As a consequence, the repeatability and reproducibility of the method decreases, which limits electroanalytical applications. This paper describes the use of disposable screen-printed electrodes as an alternative to improve the electrochemical quantification of rutin in commercial and standard samples. The electrochemical behavior was consistent to what is observed using other carbon electrodes: an adsorption-involved step and a pH-dependent oxidation process. The replacement of the electrodes between the analyses ensured rapid analysis, good intermediate precision and repeatability. The proposed method was successfully applied to rutin determination in pharmaceutical samples of capsules, with the limit of quantification being 0.30 µM.

Abstract
The performances of ionic liquid (1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium-bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, IL/CPE) and iron phthalocyanine (IP/CPE) modified carbon paste electrodes in electroanalytical determinations of rutin were evaluated and compared to the performance of unmodified carbon paste electrode (CPE). Cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV), and amperometry were used for rutin analysis. The best current responses of rutin were obtained at pH 4.0 for all tested techniques. IL/CPE electrode was found to perform best with DPAdSV technique, where a detection limit (LOD) as low as 5 nmol L−1 of rutin was found. On the other hand, IP/CPE showed itself to be an optimum choice for DPV technique, where LOD of 80 nmol L−1 was obtained. Analytical applicability of newly prepared electrodes was demonstrated on determination of rutin in the model samples and the extracts of buckwheat seeds. To find an optimum method for buckwheat seeds extraction, a boiling water extraction (BWE), Soxhlet extraction (SE), pressurized solvent extraction (PSE), and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) were tested.
