Abstract
A surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) method for measuring nitrate nitrogen in aquaculture water was developed using a substrate of β-cyclodextrin-modified gold nanoparticles (SH-β-CD@AuNPs). Addressing the issues of low sensitivity, narrow linear range, and relatively poor selectivity of single metal nanoparticles in the SERS detection of nitrate nitrogen, we combined metal nanoparticles with cyclodextrin supramolecular compounds to prepare a AuNPs substrate enveloped by cyclodextrin, which exhibits ultra-high selectivity and Raman activity. Subsequently, vanadium(III) chloride was used to convert nitrate ions into nitrite ions. The adsorption mechanism between the reaction product benzotriazole (BTAH) of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) and nitrite ions on the SH-β-CD@AuNPs substrate was studied through SERS, achieving the simultaneous detection of nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen. The experimental results show that BTAH exhibits distinct SERS characteristic peaks at 1168, 1240, 1375, and 1600 cm-1, with the lowest detection limits of 3.33 × 10-2, 5.84 × 10-2, 2.40 × 10-2, and 1.05 × 10-2 μmol/L, respectively, and a linear range of 0.1-30.0 μmol/L. The proposed method provides an effective tool for the selective and accurate online detection of nitrite and nitrate nitrogen in aquaculture water.

Abstract
A method was established for detecting the content of nitrofurazone (NFZ) by fluorescence quenching of N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) coated cadmium telluride quantum dots (CdTe QDs). By means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and multispectral methods such as fluorescence and ultraviolet visible spectra (UV-vis), the synthesized CdTe QDs were characterized. The quantum yield (φ) of CdTe QDs was measured as 0.33 by reference method. The CdTe QDs had a better stability, the RSD of fluorescence intensity was 1.51% in three months. NFZ quenching the emission light of CdTe QDs was observed. The analyses of Stern-Volmer and time-resolved fluorescence suggested the quenching was static. The binding constants (Ka) between NFZ and CdTe QDs were 1.14 × 104 (293 K), 0.74 × 104 (303 K) and 0.51 × 104 (313 K) L mol-1. The hydrogen bond or van der Waals force was the dominated binding force between NFZ and CdTe QDs. The interaction was further characterized by UV-vis absorption as well as Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR). Using fluorescence quenching effect, a quantitative determination of NFZ was carried out. The optimal experimental conditions were studied and determined as following: pH was 7 and contact time was 10 min. The effects of reagent addition sequence, temperature and the foreign substances including some metals (Mg2+; Zn2+; Ca2+; K+; Cu2+), glucose, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and furazolidone on the determination were studied. There was a high correlation between the concentration of NFZ (0.40 - 39.63 μg mL-1) and F0/F with the standard curve F0/F = 0.0262c + 0.9910 (r = 0.9994). The detection limit (LOD) reached 0.04 μg mL-1 (3S0/S). The contents of NFZ in beef and bacteriostatic liquid were detected. The recovery of NFZ was 95.13% - 103.03% and RSD was 0.66% - 1.37% (n = 5).

Abstract
The development of convenient assays for the determination of hydrazine (N2H4) has drawn significant attention due to the high toxicity of this substance. Herein, we developed a concise, rapid and ultrasensitive surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor for N2H4 detection based on alpha-cyclodextrin-silver nanoparticles (α-CD-AgNPs) modified by 4-mercaptobenzaldehyde (4-MBA). The 4-MBA molecules can specifically capture the N2H4 molecules and undergo a Schiff base reaction. As a result, this induces the aggregation of nanoparticles and generates a new characteristic peak at 1529 cm-1 that is attributed to CN and CC vibrations. Compared with noble metal nanoparticles, 4-MBA not only formed AgS bonds but could also be fixed in the cavity of cyclodextrin to produce a more stable and stronger SERS signal. The SERS intensity at 1529 cm-1 and the logarithm of the concentration of N2H4 presented a good linear relationship from 10-9 to 10-7 M with an unprecedented limit of detection (LOD) of 38 pM. The proposed SERS sensor exhibited satisfactory selectivity and reproducibility and was applied to detect N2H4 in real and complex water samples. We expect this assay to be a promising alternative tool for the on-site detection of N2H4.

Abstract
A novel surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method for the determination of nitrofurazone was developed using AuNPs/γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles protected by β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) as substrate prepared in our lab. The optimum experimental conditions were obtained from single factor procedure and response surface modeling. A linear relationship (ISERS = 508.96c + 31987.87, c: nmol L-1, R2 = 0.996) between SERS intensity and the concentration of nitrofurazone in the range of 3.3 - 667.0 nmol L-1 was established, the limit of detection (LOD) was found at nmol L-1 level (0.37 nmol L-1 by 3S0/S). The selectivity for the method was studied by the influences of foreign substances on the determination. The recoveries and RSD (n = 5) for the six meat samples were 95.1 % - 104.5% and 2.4 % - 4.8% respectively, which suggesting that the new SERS method was successfully to detecting nitrofurazone.

Abstract
Numerous approaches have been proposed to overcome the intrinsically low selectivity of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), and the modification of SERS substrates with diverse recognition molecules is one of such approaches. In contrast to the use of antibodies, aptamers, and molecularly imprinted polymers, application of cyclodextrins (CDs) is still developing with less than 100 papers since 1993. Therefore, the main goal of this review is the critical analysis of all available papers on the use of CDs in SERS analysis, including physicochemical studies of CD complexation and the effect of CD presence on the Raman enhancement. The results of the review reveal that there is controversial information about CD efficiency and further experimental investigations have to be done in order to estimate the real potential of CDs in SERS-based analysis.

Abstract
Background:
The molecular imprinting technique has been applied in many fields including
separation, artificial antibody mimics, catalysis, sensing studies, and drug delivery. The reasons for the
popularity of this technique among the researchers are high selectivity due to the cavities that are
formed on the polymer surface for the specific analyte, high robustness, high durability under extreme
conditions and low cost. When these advantages are combined with the advantages of electrochemical
methods such as rapid response time, ease of use, cheapness and miniaturizability, Molecularly Imprinted
Polymer (MIP) based electrochemical sensors turn out to be a widely-preferred sensing tool.
Objective:
This article provides the reader with information on MIP-based electrochemical sensors and
reviews the applications of the MIP sensors prepared by electropolymerization of orthophenylenediamine,
a monomer whose mechanical and chemical stability is very high.
Results and Conclusion:
The literature survey summarized in this review shows that cyclic voltammetry
is the most widely preferred electrochemical technique for electropolymerization of o-PD. The media
chosen is generally acetate or phosphate buffers with different pH values. Although there are numerous
solvents used for template removal, generally methanol and NaOH have been chosen.
