Abstract
Herein, we reported the dual functions of molybdenum disulfide/sulfur-doped graphitic carbon nitride (MoS2/SGCN) composite as a sensing material for electrochemical detection of 4-NP and a catalyst for 4-NP degradation. The MoS2 nanosheet, sulfur-doped graphitic carbon nitride (SGCN) and MoS2/SGCN were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Electrochemical characterization of these materials with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 1 mM K4[Fe(CN)6]3-/4- show that the composite has the lowest charge transfer resistance and the best electrocatalytic activity. The limit of detection (LOD) and the linear range of 4-nitrophenol at MoS2/SGCN modified glassy carbon electrode (MoS2/SGCN/GCE) were computed as 12.8 nM and 0.1 - 2.6 μM, respectively. Also, the percentage recoveries of 4-NP in spiked tap water samples ranged from 97.8 - 99.1 %. The electroanalysis of 4-NP in the presence of notable interferons shows that the proposed electrochemical sensor features outstanding selectivity toward 4-NP. Additionally, the results of the catalytic degradation of 4-NP at MoS2/SGCN show that the nanocatalyst catalyzed the transformation of 4-NP to 4-aminophenol (4-AP) with a first-order rate constant (k) estimated to be 4.2 ×10-2 s-1. The results of this study confirm that the MoS2/SGCN nanocatalyst is a useful implement for electroanalytical monitoring and catalytic degradation of the hazardous 4-NP in water samples.

Abstract
The toxicity of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) is one of the most common threats to the environment; therefore, developing a simple and sensitive analytical method to detect 4-NP is crucial. In this study, we prepared the Nd(OH)3/VSe2 nanocomposite using the simple hydrothermally assisted ultrasonication method and it was used to detect the 4-NP. Different characterization techniques were used to investigate the morphological and chemical compositions of Nd(OH)3/VSe2 nanocomposite. All of these investigations revealed that Nd(OH)3 nanoparticles were finely dispersed on the surface of the VSe2 nanosheet. The electrical conductivity of our prepared samples was evaluated by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopic technique. The CV and DPV methods were used to explore the electrochemical activity of 4-NP at the Nd(OH)3/VSe2/GCE sensor which exhibited a wide linear range (0.001 to 640 µM), low limit of detection (0.008 µM), and good sensitivity (0.41 µA µM-1 cm-2), respectively. Additionally, Nd(OH)3/VSe2/GCE sensor was tested in water samples for the detection of 4-NP, which exhibited good recovery results. The Nd(OH)3/VSe2 electrode material is a novel one for the electrochemical sensor field, and the obtained overall results also proved that our proposed material is an active material for sensor applications.

Abstract
Nanobiosensors are devices that utilize a very small probe and any form of electrical, optical, or magnetic technology to detect and analyze a biochemical or biological process. With an increasing population today, nanobiosensors have become the broadly used electroanalytical tools for the timely detection of many infectious (dengue, hepatitis, tuberculosis, leukemia, etc.) and other fatal diseases, such as prostate cancer, breast cancer, etc., at their early stage. Compared to classical or traditional analytical methods, nanobiosensors have significant benefits, including low detection limit, high selectivity and sensitivity, shorter analysis duration, easier portability, biocompatibility, and ease of miniaturization for on-site monitoring. Very similar to biosensors, nanobiosensors can also be classified in numerous ways, either depending on biological molecules, such as enzymes, antibodies, and aptamer, or by working principles, such as optical and electrochemical. Various nanobiosensors, such as cyclic voltametric, amperometric, impedimetric, etc., have been discussed for the timely monitoring of the infectious and fatal diseases at their early stage. Nanobiosensors performance and efficiency can be enhanced by using a variety of engineered nanostructures, which include nanotubes, nanoparticles, nanopores, self-adhesive monolayers, nanowires, and nanocomposites. Here, this mini review recaps the application of two-dimensional (2D) materials, especially graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), graphene oxide, black phosphorous, and MXenes, for the construction of the nanobiosensors and their application for the diagnosis of various infectious diseases at very early stage.

Abstract
Few-layer black phosphorus (BP) has been considered as a rising star of 2D materials, and however, the poor stability heavily limits its application in electrochemical sensing. In this work, a series of BP nanosheets (BPNS) are simply prepared through ultrasonic exfoliation of bulk BP with the assistance of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in different solvents, including isopropanol (IPA), ethanol (EtOH), N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) and dimethylformamide (DMF). It is found that the exfoliation efficiency in IPA and EtOH is much higher than that in DMF and NMP, and moreover, IPA is superior than EtOH. More importantly, PVP effectively improves the exfoliation efficiency and ambient ability of BPNS via forming a protective layer to lower the oxidation of phosphorus. The exfoliated BPNS in the presence of IPA and PVP (PVP@BPNS) possess larger active response area, higher electron-transfer rate and stronger enhancement effects toward the oxidation of p-nitrophenol (4-NP). As a result, the response signal and sensing sensitivity of 4-NP are remarkably improved, and a novel electrochemical method has been developed for 4-NP detection, with a linear range of 0.10-5.0 μM and a detection limit of 28 nM. It is used to measure 4-NP in wastewater samples, and the results are validated by high-performance liquid chromatography.
