Abstract
AbstractGreen analytical procedures are gaining popularity in the pharmaceutical research area as a way to reduce environmental impact and improve analyst health safety. The current work presents a green and sensitive electrochemical carbon paste electrode that has been chemically modified with zirconium dioxide and multi-walled carbon nanotubes for estimation of pyridoxine HCl (PYR) and doxylamine succinate (DOX) using the square wave voltammetric technique. Under optimum conditions, the linearity ranges were 20.00–2000.00 ng mL−1 and 2.00–20.00 µg mL−1 for both drugs in the 1st linear segment and 2nd linear segment, respectively. Stability testing assesses how the quality of a drug substance changes over time, depending on environmental and laboratory factors. DOX was found to undergo oxidative degradation when refluxed for 7 h using 30% H2O2 and the degraded product (DOX DEG) (toxic metabolite) was successfully characterized utilizing LC–MS. The developed electrode showed selectivity for the determination of binary mixture in pure form, pharmaceutical form, and in the presence of DOX DEG and common interfering molecules with good recovery. The proposed method was found to be eco-friendlier than the reported method in terms of the use of hazardous chemicals and solvents, energy consumption, and waste generation.

Abstract
A new insight is presented in the fabrication of a reliable electrochemical sensor for di-hydroxybenzene isomers; hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CC), and resorcinol (RC) which have been considered as common pollutants in environment and water samples. The sensor is based on modifying the glassy carbon electrode (GC) with successive layers, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT), poly-hydroquinone (PHQ) and benzo-12-crown-4 (CE); GC/CNT/PHQ/CE. CE is introduced for the first time as a receptor for the di-hydroxybenzene isomers based on host-guest size matching. Other cycling compound with different cavity diameter as β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) (6.0-6.5 Å) was examined displaying lower current responses. CE exhibited "fit" cavity size (1.20-1.50 Å). Thus, the inclusion complexes formed between β-CD and di-hydroxybenzene isomers are less stable. The layered sensor showed highly electro-catalytic activity for simultaneous determination of isomers; HQ, CC and RC in the concentration ranges of 0.03-100 μM, 0.01-100 μM and 0.05-100 μM with low detection limit values of 0.156 nM, 0.118 nM and 0.427 nM, respectively. The practical impact of the sensor was illustrated for determination of di-hydroxybenzene isomers in real water matrices from two different sources. Moreover, anti-interference ability of the layered sensor for determination of di-hydroxybenzene isomers was successfully achieved in presence of common interfering ions and organic pollutants.

Abstract
To reduce the side effects in the medication of Parkinson and Asthma, pyridoxine (PY) is administered along with l-3,4-dihydroxyphenyl alanine (l-dopa) and theophylline (TP), respectively. However, excessive dosage of PY leads to nervous disorder. Thus, a sensitive and selective electrochemical method was developed for the determination of PY in the presence of major interferences including TP, l-dopa, ascorbic acid (AA) and riboflavin (RB) using electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) film modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in this paper. The ERGO fabrication process involves the nucleophilic substitution of graphene oxide at basic pH on amine terminal of 1,6-hexadiamine which was pre-assembled on GCE followed by electrochemical reduction. The electrocatalytic activity of the ERGO modified electrode was examined towards the oxidation of PY. It greatly enhanced the oxidation current of PY in contrast to bare and GO modified GCEs due to facile electron transfer besides π-π interaction between ERGO film and PY. Since TP and l-dopa drugs antagonize the drug action of PY, ERGO modified GCE was also used for the simultaneous determination of PY and l-dopa and PY and TP. Further, the selective determination of PY in the presence of other water soluble vitamins such as ascorbic acid and riboflavin was also demonstrated. Using amperometry, detection of 100nM PY was achieved and the detection limit was found to be 5.6×10(-8)M (S/N=3). The practical application of the present method was demonstrated by determining the concentration of PY in human blood serum and commercial drugs.
