Abstract
This study aims to develop and evaluate an interactive learning system for children. Through mixed-method research, combined with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, this study provides a comprehensive evaluation of the educational effectiveness of the system. The study involves children in grades 1-6, and data on learning effectiveness before and after using the system are collected through pre-experiments and formal experiments. The results of the quantitative analysis show that after using the system, the average improvement rates for students in grades 1-3 and 4-6 are 24.6% and 22.2% in mathematics and 28.1% and 26.8% in science. The average response time of the system is 1.77 s, with the longest response time being 3.1 s. User satisfaction reaches 94%, and the error rate is 0.2%. These results demonstrate that the developed learning system significantly impacts children's learning effectiveness and optimizing user experience.

Abstract
There is a rapidly growing body of research in the field of evolutionary educational psychology that examines children's evolved motivational and educational inclinations as they relate to modern learning and schooling. It is generally agreed that schools are inherently mismatched with how children of our species evolved to learn, thereby contributing to difficulty learning and associated adverse schooling outcomes. Many researchers argue that, by making small changes to schools that help to better align instructional methods and childhood as a whole with our species' evolved learning mechanisms, we can lessen the negative impacts from evolutionary mismatch and create better outcomes for modern students. In order to create effective change, there must be collaborative work done by parents, teachers, and school administrators. This paper delineates the roles of these stakeholders in elementary education with respect to creating more evolutionarily relevant systems. A research-based toolkit is proposed to guide these stakeholders in evolutionizing the elementary education system.

Abstract
The concepts of social learning and exploration have been central to debates in comparative cognition research. While their roles in the origins of human cumulative culture on the one hand and creativity on the other have been highlighted, the two concepts have mostly been studied separately. In this article, we examine the relationship between adopting similar or different behaviours within a group, focusing on how exploration and exploitation shape primate communication systems. Using a comparative approach, we discuss how similarity and differentiation of communicative behaviour can be viewed as two endpoints on a continuum, impacting both individual- and group-level behavioural variation. While group-level variation is evident in some ape behaviours (e.g. foraging traditions), individual variation in communicative behaviour appears to outweigh group-level differences, making a widespread communicative culture in apes unlikely. Drawing parallels to language acquisition in human infants, we propose that ape communication follows an exploration-exploitation trajectory, with initial exploration gradually giving way to focused exploitation of genetically predisposed and/or individually developed communicative repertoires. By integrating the individual and social learning processes underlying communicative behaviour, we can gain a deeper understanding of how exploration-exploitation tensions shape communication systems across species.

Abstract
Our brain adapts to the environment by optimizing its function through experience-dependent cortical plasticity. This plasticity is transiently enhanced during a developmental stage, known as the "critical period," and subsequently maintained at lower levels throughout adulthood. Thus, understanding the mechanism underlying critical period plasticity is crucial for improving brain adaptability across the lifespan. Critical period plasticity relies on activity-dependent circuit remodeling through anatomical and functional changes at individual synapses. However, it remains challenging to identify the molecular signatures of synapses responsible for critical period plasticity and to understand how these plasticity-related synapses are spatiotemporally organized within a neuron. Recent advances in genetic tools and genome editing methodologies have enabled single-cell endogenous protein labeling in the brain, allowing for comprehensive molecular profiling of individual synapses within a neuron, namely "single-cell synaptome mapping." This promising approach can facilitate insights into the spatiotemporal organization of synapses that are sparse yet functionally important within single neurons. In this review, we introduce the basics of single-cell synaptome mapping and discuss its methodologies and applications to investigate the synaptic and cellular mechanisms underlying circuit remodeling during the critical period.

Abstract
The notion of proxy failure provides considerable insight into educational processes, and in childhood education has the potential to elucidate known problems stemming from the early implementation of overly regulated educational regimes. This commentary expands on play and how its relation to learning provides a useful perspective on how activities based on nongoal-oriented interactions can lead to desired outcomes.

Abstract
(1) Introduction: This research was conducted with the aim of assessing whether an alternative physical education (PE) program could effectively substitute for the traditional PE curriculum and aid in accomplishing the essential goals and objectives of PE among younger elementary school children. (2) Materials and Methods: This longitudinal 6-month study included third-grade elementary school children of both genders, who were healthy, lived in urban areas, and were involved in an alternative PE program, as well as the regular PE classes. The sample of participants comprised 214 students, with 105 participants in the experimental group and 109 participants in the control group, who underwent pre- and post-intervention measurements. For the purposes of this study, 11 variables were applied to assess the parameters of growth and development, motor abilities, and physical and health education. MANCOVA and ANCOVA methods were used to determine the effects resulting from the alternative and regular PE programs, and differences between the groups, respectively. The data are reported as the mean and standard deviations, and were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS version 20.0 (SPSS Inc., Armonk, NY, USA). (3) Results: Based on the research results obtained for motor abilities and physical and health education, it was concluded that both the alternative and regular PE programs had positive effects in achieving the goals and objectives of PE, but without statistical significance at the multivariate and univariate levels. The differences between the two groups were found to be negligible (effect size, ES < 0.2). (4) Discussion: Sports and PE have distinct objectives and approaches. While sports emphasize competition and winning, PE aims to impart fundamental skills and knowledge, prioritizing inclusivity among younger students. Success in PE is measured by the number of students meeting these goals, potentially affecting both talented and struggling learners. (5) Conclusions: The results obtained from the conducted research indicate that both the alternative PE program and the regular PE program influence changes in motor abilities and physical and health education to a limited extent. The alternative PE program proposed in this study, with its modifications to the structure of existing, regular PE program, can fully replace the latter in schools that do not meet the required spatial and material standards.
