Abstract
PURPOSE Rural breast cancer survivors (BCS) have unique unmet psychosocial needs that affect quality of life (QOL). Expressive writing (EW) has been shown to improve QOL in cancer survivors, however, its applicability is unclear among rural individuals. This pilot study explores the feasibility and acceptability of an online expressive writing (EW) intervention among rural breast cancer survivors (BCS). METHODS Participants (N = 34) were recruited from a cancer hospital's registry and randomly assigned to either a control group or the EW intervention group to read positive messages and to write about their cancer experience three times, once per week. Health outcomes were assessed at baseline and 1 month after the intervention. Feasibility and acceptability were also assessed. RESULTS The study yielded a satisfactory response rate, adherence rate, and completion rate. The majority of the participants reported enjoying the study. Preliminary analyses also demonstrated promising efficacy of the intervention, with improvements (medium effect size) observed for QOL (d = 0.51) and fatigue (d = -0.64) in the intervention group compared to the control group at 1-month follow-up. CONCLUSIONS The study demonstrates feasibility and acceptability of an online EW intervention among rural BCS. Future research is warranted to examine the efficacy of the intervention in larger samples of rural cancer survivors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is limited evidence depicting ways that behavioral theory and techniques have been incorporated into cancer rehabilitation interventions. Examining their use within cancer rehabilitation interventions may provide insight into the active ingredients that can maximize patient engagement and intervention effectiveness. AIM This secondary analysis aimed to describe the use of behavior change theory and behavior change techniques (BCTs) in two previously conducted systematic reviews of cancer rehabilitation interventions. DESIGN Secondary analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) drawn from two systematic reviews examining the effect of cancer rehabilitation interventions on function and disability. SETTING In-person and remotely delivered rehabilitation interventions. POPULATION Adult cancer survivors. METHODS Data extraction included: behavior change theory use, functional outcome data, and BCTs using the Behavior Change Technique Taxonomy (BCTTv1). Based on their effects on function, interventions were categorized as "very", "quite" or "non-promising". To assess the relative effectiveness of coded BCTs, a BCT promise ratio was calculated (the ratio of promising to non-promising interventions that included the BCT). RESULTS Of 180 eligible RCTs, 25 (14%) reported using a behavior change theory. Fifty-four (58%) of the 93 BCTs were used in least one intervention (range 0-29). Interventions reporting theory use utilized more BCTs (median=7) compared to those with no theory (median=3.5; U=2827.00, P=0.001). The number of BCTs did not differ between the very, quite, and non-promising intervention groups (H(2)=0.24, P=0.85). 20 BCTs were considered promising (promise ratio >2) with goal setting, graded tasks, and social support (unspecified) having the highest promise ratios. CONCLUSIONS While there was a wide range of BCTs utilized, they were rarely based on theoretically-proposed pathways and the number of BCTs reported was not related to intervention effectiveness. CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT Clinicians should consider basing new interventions upon a relevant behavior change theory. Intentionally incorporating the BCTs of goal setting, graded tasks, and social support may improve intervention efficacy.

Abstract
PURPOSE We conducted a systematic review to describe health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in rural cancer survivors (RCS), and compare HRQOL between RCS and urban cancer survivors (UCS). METHOD We searched Medline, Embase, CINAHL Plus, and PsycINFO for studies with HRQOL in adult cancer survivors living in rural, regional, remote, and urban areas, who had completed definitive primary cancer treatment, without evidence of residual disease. Where available, we used normative and clinically important values to ascribe meaning to HRQOL data. FINDINGS Fifteen studies (16 papers) were included. Most were from the US (n = 8) and reported on breast cancer survivors (n = 9). Six HRQOL instruments, collecting data across 16 domains, were used. Three instruments were specific to the survivorship phase. Normative and clinical data were available for 12 studies. Compared with normative populations, RCS had clinically worse physical HRQOL (6/12 studies), better social/family (5/7), and functional (3/6) HRQOL, and there were no differences in emotional or/mental HRQOL (9/12). In six studies with rural-urban comparator groups and normative and clinically important data, RCS and UCS had clinically worse physical (3/6 and 2/6, respectively) and better social/family (3/4 and 2/4 studies, respectively) HRQOL than normative populations. Functional HRQOL was better in RCS (2/4 studies) than UCS and normative populations. In 3/6 studies, there were no clinical differences in emotional or/mental HRQOL between RCS, UCS, and normative populations. CONCLUSION Overall, HRQOL is not clearly better or worse in RCS than UCS. Future research should include different tumor types, rural residents, and survivorship-specific HRQOL instruments.

Abstract
PURPOSE To characterize delivery features and explore effectiveness of telehealth-based cancer rehabilitation interventions that address disability in adult cancer survivors. METHODS A systematic review of electronic databases (CINAHL Plus, Cochrane Library: Database of Systematic Reviews, Embase, National Health Service's Health Technology Assessment, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science) was conducted in December 2019 and updated in April 2021. RESULTS Searches identified 3,499 unique studies. Sixty-eight studies met inclusion criteria. There were 81 unique interventions across included studies. Interventions were primarily delivered post-treatment and lasted an average of 16.5 weeks (SD = 13.1). They were most frequently delivered using telephone calls (59%), administered delivered by nursing professionals (35%), and delivered in a one-on-one format (88%). Risk of bias of included studies was primarily moderate to high. Included studies captured 55 measures of disability. Only 54% of reported outcomes had data that allowed calculation of effect sizes ranging -3.58 to 15.66. CONCLUSIONS The analyses suggest small effects of telehealth-based cancer interventions on disability, though the heterogeneity seen in the measurement of disability makes it hard to draw firm conclusions. Further research using more diverse samples, common measures of disability, and pragmatic study designs is needed to advance telehealth in cancer rehabilitation. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Telehealth-based cancer rehabilitation interventions have the potential to increase access to care designed to reduce disability across the cancer care continuum.

Abstract
Background: Long-term cancer survivors have specific needs that are frequently neglected. Telehealth, as a new form of health care, can benefit this growing population. Objective: To identify, analyze, and synthesize the existing evidence on the use of telehealth in the care of cancer survivors after the end of treatment. Methods: A scoping review was conducted in the databases PubMed, CINAHL, COCHRANE, SCIELO, DIALNET, and LILACS and reference institutions in cancer. Results: The initial search yielded 406 publications with 59 articles meeting the eligibility criteria. There are different types of telehealth (video calls, phone calls, websites, mobile applications, and short message services) used for the care of cancer survivors. Most telehealth interventions focus on improving the physical and mental spheres of quality of life in the extended survival phase (from 1 to 3 years postdiagnosis), with only two articles (3%) on long-term cancer survivors (>5 years postdiagnosis). Survivors are satisfied with telehealth interventions, noting the importance of improving comprehensibility, personalization of the platforms, and the lack of excessive information included. Conclusions: Telehealth is a feasible modality for cancer survival care. The scarcity of interventions aimed at long-term survivors stands out, as does the general neglect of the social and spiritual spheres of quality of life. Implications for Practice: Telehealth platforms must adapt their content, format, and items to the preferences reported by the survivors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The use of telehealth interventions has been evaluated in different perspectives in women and also supported with various clinical trials, but its overall efficacy is still ascertained. The objective of the present review is to identify, appraise and analyze randomized controlled trials on breast cancer survivors who have participated in technology-based intervention programs incorporating a wide range of physical and psychological outcome measures. MATERIAL AND METHODS We conducted electronic search of the literature during last twenty years i.e., from 2001 till August 10, 2021 through four databases. Standardized mean difference with 95% confidence interval was used. RESULTS A total of 56 records were included in the qualitative and 28 in quantitative analysis. Pooled results show that telehealth interventions were associated with improved quality of life (SMD 0.48, 95% CI 0.03 to 0.92, p=0.04), reduced depression (SMD -1.27, 95% CI =-2.43 to -0.10 p=0.03), low distress and less perceived stress (SMD -0.40, 95% CI =-0.68 to -0.12, p=0.005). However, no significant differences were observed on weight change (SMD -0.27, 95% CI =-2.39 to 1.86, p=0.81) and anxiety scores (SMD -0.09, 95% CI =-0.20 to 0.02, p=0.10) between the two groups. Improvement in health care competence and fitness among participants was also reported. CONCLUSION Study concludes that telehealth care is a quick, convenient and assuring approach to breast cancer care in women that can reduce treatment burden and subsequent disturbance to the lives of breast cancer survivors.

Abstract
Introduction Patients with breast cancer (BC) after surgery are prone to negative physiological and psychosocial discomforts which cause the poor quality of life (QoL) among the patients. Therefore, how to improve the disease management ability of BC patients and to alleviate these cancer-related negative experience are particularly important. This study purpose to explore the potential effects of personalized care based on OPT model on the perceived control and the QoL among patients with BC, and to provide effective clinical nursing intervention for BC patients. Methods In this study, nonsynchronous controlled experiments were carried out on patients with BC, and the patients were randomly allocated to the control (n = 40) and intervention (n = 40) groups. The patients in the control group were given routine care; while the patients in the intervention group were given personalized care based on OPT model. The perceived control ability and QoL of the two groups were measured before and after the intervention. Results There were no significant differences in the total score of cancer experience and control efficacy of BC patients between the control group (61.15 ± 5.659, 41.80 ± 4.702) and the intervention group (60.58 ± 7.136, 42.15 ± 5.550) before intervention (p > 0.05). After the intervention, the total score of cancer experience in the intervention group (54.80 ± 8.519) was significantly lower than that in the control group (59.575 ± 7.331), with significant differences (p < 0.05). The total score of control efficacy in the intervention group (49.78 ± 6.466) was significantly higher than that in the control group (43.32 ± 6.219), with significant differences (p < 0.05). Compared with the control group, patients in intervention groups showed significant improvement in QoL after the intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion Personalized care based on OPT model plays a significant role in improving the level of perceived control and the QoL among patients with BC.Clinical Trial Registration:www.chictr.org.cn, ChiCTR2300069476.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Rural populations experience several disparities, influenced by structural-, community-, and individual-level barriers, across the breast and cervical cancer continuum. OBJECTIVES This study seeks to identify structural-, community-, and individual-level barriers that affect rural populations across the cancer continuum, understand the role of nurses serving rural populations in breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostics, and provide recommendations for working with rural patients. METHODS This is a secondary analysis of qualitative interviews conducted with public health nurses serving rural populations. FINDINGS Emergent themes indicate that rural populations experience barriers that affect disparities across the breast and cervical cancer continuum, including a changing healthcare landscape, access to cancer-focused care, access to insurance, collective poverty, and demographic factors. Nurses working with rural communities can address these disparities as they fulfill multiple roles and responsibilities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We developed an Internet-based physical activity (PA) support program (IPAS), which is embedded in a patient portal. We evaluated the effectiveness and costs of IPAS alone (online only) or IPAS combined with physiotherapist telephone counselling (blended care), compared to a control group. METHODS Breast or prostate cancer survivors, 3-36 months after completing primary treatment, were randomized to 6-months access to online only, blended care, or a control group. At baseline and 6-month post-baseline, minutes of moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) were measured by accelerometers. Secondary outcomes were self-reported PA, fatigue, mood, health-related quality of life, attitude toward PA, and costs. (Generalized) linear models were used to compare the outcomes between groups. RESULTS We recruited 137 survivors (participation rate 11%). We did not observe any significant between-group differences in MVPA or secondary outcomes. Adherence was rather low and satisfaction scores were low to moderate, with better scores for blended care. Costs for both interventions were low. CONCLUSIONS Recruitment to the study was challenging and the interventions were less efficacious than anticipated, which led to lessons learned for future trials. Suggestions for future research are as follows: improved accessibility of the support program, increased frequency of support, and use of activity trackers.

Abstract
Rural breast cancer survivors (RBCS) are at greater risk for poorer health outcomes and face greater treatment barriers compared to their urban counterparts, necessitating behavioral interventions tailored for the unique needs of RBCS. A systematic review of studies examining behavioral interventions delivered to RBCS living in the United States from 2000 to 2020 was conducted following PRIMSA guidelines. Nineteen unique studies were included: eight randomized controlled trials, two matched-control studies, six pre-post intervention feasibility studies, and three post-intervention satisfaction studies. Thirteen interventions aimed to improve psychosocial support, three to improve weight management, and three to improve education. Results indicate interventions' feasibility and acceptability. Six out of eight intervention conditions reported favorable outcomes compared to control conditions, suggesting promise for efficacy. However, variability in intervention objective, duration, delivery, and follow-up timing, and small sample sizes prevent overarching conclusions. Research involving larger sample sizes, higher quality control groups, and longer follow-up data is needed.
