Abstract
Here we report a case of sclerosing mesenteritis that we diagnosed with needle biopsy under the guidance of computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound (US) observation. An 82-year-old woman presented with appetite loss, weight loss and epigastric pain. CT of the abdomen and pelvis revealed increased density of the mesentery adjacent to the small bowel and enlarged lymph nodes. Sclerosing mesenteritis was suspected, but malignancies, such as lymphoma, were also considered. We performed CT and US-guided needle biopsy with the coaxial technique. An introducer needle was inserted, its correct location was documented with CT, and multiple specimens were taken with a finer needle passed through the introducer without incident. Adequate specimens were obtained, and the histological diagnosis of sclerosing mesenteritis was made. We treated the patient with corticosteroids and her symptoms and the radiographic findings improved. The coaxial technique was a useful and minimally invasive tool for making the diagnosis of sclerosing mesenteritis.

Abstract
A 39-year-old woman is admitted with clinical, biochemical and imaging features suggestive of acute pancreatitis. Conservative and guideline based management failed to improve her condition. Repeate the imaging utilizing contrast revealed the progression of extra-pancreatic signs in the absence of pancreatic necrosis, the absence of intra-abdominal fluid collections, but enhancing omental and peritoneal deposits and obstructive pancreatitis. A biopsy and histopathological evaluation of the omentum revealed rare anaplastic large cell lymphoma causing obstructive pancreatitis. In patients who present with pancreatitis not responding to conventional treatment and with an atypical disease course, the diagnostic possibility of rare causes of pancreatitis such as obstructive/infiltrative pathology must be thought of.

Abstract
A 55-year-old man with a history of well controlled HIV infection was admitted with acute renal impairment, peripheral oedema, constitutional symptoms, deranged liver function and hypercalcaemia. Core biopsies of a retroperitoneal mass demonstrated anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) with unusual Paired box 5 (PAX5) positivity. The same malignant cells were identifiable on urine cytology. Staging investigations revealed extensive nodal and extranodal disease including ALK negative ALCL involving the kidney and prostate, which has not previously been reported in the published literature.
