Abstract
INTRODUCTION Cognitive inflexibility, clinical perfectionism, and eating disorder (ED)-specific rumination are common characteristics reported in anorexia nervosa (AN) and may contribute to the maintenance of the illness. It is suggested that clinical perfectionism and rumination may mediate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and AN pathology; however, research to date has not investigated all these factors together. The aim of the current study was to explore the relationships between these factors and how they may relate to ED symptoms in AN. METHODS Participants included 15 women with a current diagnosis of AN, 12 women who had a past diagnosis of AN and were currently weight-restored, and 15 healthy controls (HCs). RESULTS The results revealed that participants with both acute and weight-restored AN self-reported poorer cognitive flexibility than HCs, but the groups did not differ in performance on objective assessments of cognitive flexibility. Participants with AN also reported significantly greater clinical perfectionism and ED-specific rumination than HC. A parallel mediation analysis found that ED-specific rumination mediated the relationship between subjective cognitive flexibility and ED symptoms. Further, subjective cognitive flexibility directly influenced ED symptoms. However, the mediation model was not significant for objective cognitive flexibility. CONCLUSION The findings of this study have implications for potential treatment barriers and factors which might contribute to the risk of relapse.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The understanding of the cerebral neurobiology of anorexia nervosa (AN) with respect to state- versus trait-related abnormalities is limited. There is evidence of restitution of structural brain alterations with clinical remission. However, with regard to functional brain abnormalities, this issue has not yet been clarified. METHODS We compared women with AN (n = 31), well-recovered female participants (REC) (n = 18) and non-patients (NP) (n = 27) cross-sectionally. Functional magnetic resonance imaging was performed to compare neural responses to food versus non-food images. Additionally, affective ratings were assessed. RESULTS Functional responses and affective ratings did not differ between REC and NP, even when applying lenient thresholds for the comparison of neural responses. Comparing REC and AN, the latter showed lower valence and higher arousal ratings for food stimuli, and neural responses differed with lenient thresholds in an occipital region. CONCLUSIONS The data are in line with some previous findings and suggest restitution of cerebral function with clinical recovery. Furthermore, affective ratings did not differ from NP. These results need to be verified in intra-individual longitudinal studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND High mortality rates have been reported in patients with anorexia nervosa, mainly due to cardiovascular alterations. The purpose of the present study was to assess cardiac structural and functional abnormalities some 20 years after initial treatment in a sample of adolescent-onset anorexia nervosa (A-AN) and to compare them with matched healthy controls (HC). METHODS A sample of 29 women diagnosed and treated for AN during adolescence (A-AN) were assessed more than 20 years later. A complete cardiac evaluation was carried out including an electrocardiogram (ECG) and a standard 2D echocardiography. Thirty matched HC were also assessed. RESULTS In the A-AN group, four subjects had a body mass index lower than 18.5 and met full DSM 5 criteria for AN at follow-up (Low-Weight group). They were compared with the rest of the sample (n = 25) who had normalized their weight (Normal-Weight group), though some still showed some eating disorder symptoms. Both groups were compared with the HC group. Subjects in the Low-Weight group presented statistically significant decreases in the left ventricular end-diastolic and left atrium dimensions and left ventricular mass in comparison with the Normal-Weight group and the HC. No other differences in cardiac parameters were found between groups. CONCLUSIONS Echocardiographic and ECG parameters of adults who had presented A-AN twenty years earlier and currently maintained normal weight were similar to those of HC who had never been treated or diagnosed with AN. Adult subjects with A-AN who still had low weight in the long term present certain cardiac abnormalities similar to those seen in short-lasting disease. More studies are needed to confirm these results in a larger sample.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In recent years, the network analysis (NA) methodology has been applied to identify the central features of the psychopathology of anorexia nervosa (AN) and specific connections to previously recognized vulnerabilities. However, an NA investigating both multidimensional perfectionism and interoceptive sensibility in connection to eating symptomatology is currently missing. METHOD A total of 260 individuals (139 patients with AN, 121 healthy control individuals) completed the Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness and the Eating Disorders Inventory-2. Using state-of-the-art techniques, we estimated a main network with data from all participants and then compared the two separated networks. We checked the variables for empirical overlap through goldbricker, combined as suggested and implemented the empirical measure of the bridge nodes. RESULTS Ineffectiveness and need for control over self and body (resulting from combining Asceticism and Drive for Thinness) were the most central nodes, whereas perfectionistic evaluative concerns (resulting from combining Doubts about Actions and Concern over Mistakes) and mistrust in body sensations were the bridge nodes. No significant differences between the patient and control networks emerged. CONCLUSIONS Perfectionistic evaluative concerns and mistrust in body sensations could be key components in the relationships among perfectionism, interoceptive sensibility and eating symptomatology.

Abstract
Recovery and remission rates of adolescent anorexia nervosa (AN) following Family Based Treatment (FBT) have seen a relative decline over recent years. While reasonably successful in achieving physical recovery (i.e. weight restoration), both empirical and anecdotal accounts highlight a lack of attention to the psychological recovery of the adolescent within manualised FBT. As such, there is a need for innovation to explore treatment variations and alternatives for the proportion of adolescents with AN who do not respond favourably to this first-line treatment. This paper introduces a new treatment framework to the field for clinical consideration and empirical assessment. Adolescent and Parent Treatment (APT) for adolescent AN draws from both family-based and individual treatment models, applying a developmental lens. APT attends to physical and psychological recovery simultaneously and from the start of treatment, with capacity to tailor individual psychological modules to the adolescent formulation. While clearly in its infancy, APT provides an exciting new avenue for exploration within the field, as we seek new avenues to support young people and their families to effectively combat this deadly illness.
