Abstract
Background/Objectives: Recent lifestyle and dietary changes, driven by health awareness and ecological concerns, have led to the rise in numerous type of diets, which can promote well-being but may also contribute to Orthorexia Nervosa (ON), which have been suggested to be linked to autism spectrum disorder. This study aimed to explore the relationship between autistic traits, social camouflaging, and orthorexic tendencies in female university students, focusing on how these factors intersect with specific dietary habits. Methods: 554 female students were recruited via an online survey and assessed with the Adult Autism Subthreshold (AdAS) Spectrum, the Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CAT-Q), and the ORTO-R. Participants were categorized into four groups based on AdAS Spectrum and CAT-Q quartiles. Results: Vegans and vegetarians exhibited higher orthorexic tendencies and specific autistic traits. High scorers on the AdAS Spectrum and CAT-Q also showed higher ORTO-R scores, with both AdAS Spectrum and CAT-Q total scores, as well as certain domains, serving as significant positive predictors of higher ORTO-R scores. Notably, the AdAS Spectrum total score had a significant direct and indirect effect (through the CAT-Q) on the ORTO-R total score. Conclusions: The study found significant associations between autistic traits, social camouflaging behaviors, and orthorexic tendencies in female university students. These findings suggest that the strict dietary behaviors and rigid thinking characteristic of orthorexia may be influenced by underlying autistic features, highlighting the need for further research into the intersection of autism and eating disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study examined the relationships among female's nutrition knowledge levels, diet practices, healthy eating obsessions, body perceptions, and social media usage. SUBJECTS AND METHODS The study included 613 voluntarily participating females aged 18-60 years. Data including demographic information, anthropometric measurements, whether they follow a diet or not, and ORTO-R, Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-34), Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS), and General and Sport Nutrition Knowledge (GeSNK) Scale scores were collected. RESULTS The participants' mean age was 28.47 ± 9.38 years. Mean scores were 17.5 ± 5.1 for the ORTO-R scale, 89.2 ± 40.2 for the BSQ-34, 38.6 ± 12.5 for the GeSNK, and 17.3 ± 6.1 for the BSMAS. Statistically significant differences were found among the participants' total ORTO-R, BSQ-34, and GeSNK scores according to body mass index (BMI) and education level. Statistically significant relationships were also found among total ORTO-R, BSMAS, BSQ-34, and GeSNK scores. ORTO-R scores were positively correlated with BSMAS (r = 0.475, p < 0.05) and BSQ-34 (r = 0.685, p < 0.05) scores, while they were negatively correlated with GeSNK scores (r = -0.117, p < 0.05). There was a positive correlation between BMI and BSQ-34 scores (r = 0.380, p < 0.001) and between BMI and ORTO-R scores (r = 0.130, p < 0.001), while there was a negative correlation (r = -0.176, p < 0.001) between BMI and GeSNK scores. CONCLUSIONS Social media is a fast, important, and effective tool for the sharing of information. Thus, social media may be effective in strengthening individuals' nutrition knowledge, nutrition obsessions, body perceptions. Therefore, it would be beneficial to provide training for individuals to use social media consciously and providing nutritional literacy will be effective.

Abstract
Introduction Background: social networks have become indispensable for global communication, offering unparalleled access to information. However, the lack of content regulation has allowed health and nutrition misinformation to thrive, posing significant public health risks. Objectives: this study aimed to identify the social networks most frequently used for spreading nutrition-related misinformation and evaluate the primary topics, including diseases and dietary claims, featured in these messages. Methods: a systematic review of the literature was conducted, analyzing studies focused on nutrition-related misinformation across platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Data collection adhered to PRISMA guidelines, and findings were synthesized narratively to address the study objectives. Results: this study analyzed 28 documents focusing on nutrition-related misinformation on social networks. Instagram (50 %) and YouTube (39.28 %) were identified as the most prevalent platforms for spreading such content, followed by TikTok (5.13 %) and Twitter (10.72 %). Over 62 % of the reviewed studies addressed misinformation linked to miracle diets, often associated with orthorexia (14.28 %) and COVID-19 (14.28 %). These diets frequently included unverified claims of rapid health improvements. Notably, credible nutrition content was predominantly shared by healthcare professionals and academic organizations, highlighting their key role in fight against misinformation. Conclusions: misinformation about nutrition on social networks is a growing public health concern. Public health institutions must implement strategies to improve digital literacy and provide tools for assessing information credibility. Healthcare professionals should leverage social media to disseminate evidence-based knowledge, counteracting the influence of unreliable sources. Collaborative efforts are essential to ensure social networks serve as platforms for reliable health promotion and education.

Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between compulsive use of social media and orthorexia, with a focus on the mediating role of eating attitudes. Patients and Methods The study involved 255 participants between the ages of 18-65 who did not have any psychiatric disorders or developmental disabilities. The participants completed a Sociodemographic Information Form, Orthorexia Nervosa Inventory, Social Media Addiction Scale, and Eating Attitudes Test. Results The results showed a positive correlation between orthorexia and all other scales and sub-scales. Multiple regression analyses revealed that eating attitudes were a significant predictor of all sub-dimensions of orthorexia. Additionally, the sub-dimension of Conflict on the Social Media Addiction Scale was found to predict the Impairments sub-dimension of orthorexia. Further analysis using the PROCESS macro showed that compulsive use of social media not only directly predicted orthorexia, but also indirectly through eating attitudes. Conclusion These findings emphasize the importance of addressing both compulsive use of social media and eating attitudes when working with individuals who exhibit orthorexic symptoms in clinical settings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze research studies focused on orthorexia nervosa (ON) as a spectrum of eating disorders, and to summarize potential risk factors in different age and social groups. ON is characterized by an obsession with healthy eating, which leads to a restrictive diet and health problems. METHODS Due to a lack of comprehensive analyses, this review re-examined studies from 2006 to 2023, initially retrieving 53,134 articles. Upon refining the criteria and risk factors for eating disorders, 34 notable records were identified. These studies employed diagnostic tools such as ORTO and BOT, focusing on risk factors for ON. RESULTS Results indicate that individuals suffering from eating disorders, losing weight, exercising heavily, developing relationship problems, and suffering from body dysmorphic disorder are at high risk of developing ON. A significant correlation was found between ON, BMI, and gender, but not between ON and OCD. Interestingly, ON symptoms appear to overlap with those of other eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia, especially in terms of obsessive control over dieting and fear of gaining weight, indicating a close relationship between the two. CONCLUSIONS Interestingly, orthorexia nervosa may serve as a coping mechanism for anorexia, providing a sense of control. However, further research on its long-term effects is required.

Abstract
The current study aims to examine the relationship between Social Media Use Disorder (SMUD) and Orthorexia Nervosa (ON), and evaluate the indirect effect of loneliness in this association. This cross-sectional study was carried out between July and September 2021. A total of 363 university students were recruited through convenience sampling through several universities in Lebanon's governorates. Data about information about the social media applications mostly used (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), the number of times of entry to social media applications, the time spent on these applications, ON, loneliness and SMUD, were also collected. The Mplus v.7.2 software was used to estimate categorical confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) of the SMD and loneliness scales. The one-factorial model of the SMD scale fitted well according to χ2/df (69.71/27 = 2.58), TLI (.967), CFI (.956), and RMSEA values (.066; CI [.047-.085]; pclose = .079). The one-factorial model of the loneliness scale fitted well according to χ2/df (10.30/5 = 2.06) TLI (=0.97), CFI (=0.98), and RMSEA values (=0.054; CI [0.000-0.101]; pclose = 0.379). When entering the social media applications and time spent on these applications as independent variables in a first regression model, using Instagram (Beta = 2.73), using Tumblr (Beta = 3.22), spending 30-60 minutes per day on social media apps compared to less than 30 minutes (Beta = 2.33), higher physical activity index (Beta = 0.04) and loneliness (Beta = 0.67) were significantly associated with more ON. When entering the SMUD score as an independent variable in a second regression model, the results showed that higher SMUD (Beta = 0.50) was significantly associated with more ON. Also, loneliness played a partial indirect role in the association between SMUD and ON (by 16%). The current results can help mental health professionals better detect these potential psychological disorders and might help improve future treatment of issues related to ON and SMUD.

Abstract
Current scholarship on orthorexia nervosa remains undecided about the role of body image in this novel eating disorder. This study aimed to explore the role of positive body image in differentiating between healthy orthorexia and orthorexia nervosa and assess how this might differ for men and women. A total of 814 participants (67.1% women; age M = 40.30, SD = 14.50) completed the Teruel Orthorexia scale, as well as measures of embodiment, intuitive eating, body appreciation and functionality appreciation. A cluster analysis revealed four distinct profiles characterized by high healthy orthorexia and low orthorexia nervosa; low healthy orthorexia and low orthorexia nervosa; low healthy orthorexia and high orthorexia nervosa; and high healthy orthorexia and high orthorexia nervosa. A MANOVA identified significant differences for positive body image between these four clusters, as well as that there were no significant differences between men and women for healthy orthorexia and orthorexia nervosa, despite men scoring significantly higher than women on all measures of positive body image. Cluster × gender interaction effects were found for intuitive eating, functionality appreciation, body appreciation and experience of embodiment. These findings indicate that the role of positive body image in healthy orthorexia and orthorexia nervosa may differ for men and women, making these relationships worthy of further exploration.

Abstract
PURPOSE Limited research has examined recovery processes and conceptualisations of recovery within orthorexia nervosa (ON). This study harnessed Instagram data to examine how people who self-identify with ON use the hashtag #OrthorexiaRecovery and how recovery is represented within this online space. METHODS 500 textual posts containing #OrthorexiaRecovery were extracted from Instagram. Co-occurring hashtags were analysed descriptively to determine whether this online space is specific to ON, and textual data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. RESULTS The hashtag analysis indicated that #OrthorexiaRecovery is being used within a wider context of eating disorder recovery and awareness, but also provides deep insights into experiences of recovery from ON. The thematic analysis generated five themes: the invisibility of orthorexia; a turbulent and continuous process; finding food freedom; from compulsive exercise to intuitive movement; a community of support. Our findings suggest that people with self-reported ON experience recovery as a continuous process and the current invisibility of ON within diagnostic criteria and wider society impedes recovery. While working towards recovery, users aimed to be free from diet culture, become more attuned to their bodies, and develop more adaptive relationships with food and fitness. Users noted a general lack of support for people with ON and so used this online space to create a supportive community, though some content was potentially triggering. CONCLUSION Our findings highlight the importance of increased recognition of ON and the potential value of targeting societal norms and harnessing social identity resources within therapeutic interventions for ON.
