Infrared spectra of matrix-isolated gaseous ternary oxides

Stability and structures of gaseous In2MoO4, In2WO4 and In2W2O7

A number of gaseous oxyacid salts have been identified by Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry by vaporizing In2O3 from molybdenum or tungsten double two-temperature cells. The stability of gaseous molecules In2MoO4, In2WO4, and In2W2O7 was deduced from the measurements. The structures and molecular parameters of all investigated salts were obtained using quantum chemical calculations. On the basis of equilibrium constants measured for gas-phase reactions, the standard enthalpies of formation were determined to be -855 ± 33, -773 ± 30, and -1565 ± 30 kJ mol(-1) for In2MoO4, In2WO4, and In2W2O7 respectively. Overall the results obtained allowed us to estimate the standard formation enthalpy of In2MoO3, In2WO3, and In2Mo2O7 to be -519, -467 and -1530 kJ mol(-1), respectively, with an accuracy of ±40 kJ mol(-1).

Thermodynamic properties of the gaseous gallium molybdates and tungstates

The stability of gaseous molecules Ga(2)MoO(4), Ga(2)WO(4), Ga(2)Mo(2)O(7), and Ga(2)W(2)O(7) was deduced from the measurements. The structures and molecular parameters of all salts investigated were obtained using quantum chemical calculations. On the basis of equilibrium constants measured for gas-phase reactions, the standard formation enthalpies were determined to be -827 +/- 26, -843 +/- 26, -1578 +/- 32, and -1525 +/- 34 kJ.mol(-1) for Ga(2)MoO(4), Ga(2)WO(4), Ga(2)Mo(2)O(7), and Ga(2)W(2)O(7), respectively.

Cesium: a bibliography update

A brief outline of both industrial and medicinal uses is given. This is followed by a survey of literature on cesium salts for the period between January 1981 to May 1984. The bibliography searched indicates an interesting pharmacological and behavioral effect for Cs-salts in addition to its well known physiological and itopic effects. A pattern of clinical trials suggests the potential of cesium salts in certain cancer therapies, affective disorders, tumor imaging, radiotherapy and certain cardiovascular usages. The need for continued probing into the biological activity of this alkalimetal is suggested.
