Translocation (11;17) (q24;q21) as a variant of translocation (9;11)(p22;q24) in acute monoblastic leukemia

Unusual translocations and other changes in acute leukemia

We report three cases of ANLL and one case of ALL in which we found chromosome abnormalities not previously described. The first patient had a (9;11;16)(p22;q23;p13) translocation in the relapse after bone marrow transplantation. In the second case, a secondary leukemia following a Wilms' tumor, there was a single chromosome anomaly, an inversion of chromosome 13. The third case also presented an isochromosome 13q. In the fourth patient we observed a translocation between two achrocentric chromosomes, as in the third patient, but not of the Robertsonian type: t(21;21)(q22.1;q22.5).

An unusual translocation associated with recurrent spontaneous abortions

The authors report a case of 11;17 translocation associated with recurrent spontaneous abortions, and request contact with colleagues who have observed similar cases.

Translocation t(10;17)(p13;q12) in two cases of acute nonlymphocytic leukemia with phagocytic activity of blasts. A new cytogenetic entity?

We report two cases of translocation t(10;17)(p13;q12) found in a series of 278 cytogenetically studied acute nonlymphocytic leukemia cases. Blast cells, in both cases, were undifferentiated and had phagocytic properties. These patients might represent cases of a new cytogenetic entity.
