Abstract
Sensors developed from nanomaterials are increasingly used in a variety of fields, from simple wearable or medical sensors to be used at home to monitor health, to more complicated sensors being used by border customs or aviation industries. In recent times, nanoparticle-based sensors have begun to revolutionize drug-detection techniques, mainly due to their affordability, ease of use and portability, compared to conventional chromatography techniques. Thin graphene layers provide a significantly high surface to weight ratio compared to other nanomaterials, a characteristic that has led to the design of more sensitive and reliable sensors. The exceptional properties of graphene coupled with its potential to be tuned to target specific molecules have made graphene-based sensors one of the most popular and well-researched sensing materials of the past two decades with applications in environmental monitoring, medical diagnostics, and industries. Here, we present a review of developments in the applications of graphene-based sensors in sensing drugs such as cocaine, morphine, methamphetamine, ketamine, tramadol and so forth in the past decade. We compare graphene sensors with other sensors developed from ultrathin two-dimensional materials, such as transition-metal dichalcogenides, hexagonal boron nitrate, and MXenes, to measure drugs directly and indirectly, in various samples.

Abstract
Electrochemical oscillation reflects the overall characteristics of the system under test in terms of redox activity. It has proven to be advantageous in analyzing and processing complex components of herbal systems, such as polysaccharides and proteins. Therefore, it is widely used in the quantitative or qualitative tests of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) for identification and quality control. Electrochemical oscillation has several advantages such as high sensitivity, stability and micro sample requirement. Compared with other traditional methods, the interaction of multi-component in the TCMs was taken into account, which provides new ideas for the search of TCMs. Here, we presented a brief introduction on the progress on the topic, which promoted the development of electrochemical oscillation and the standardization of TCMs in the last twenty years. Electrochemical oscillation method is cheap, sensitive, fast, stable and convenient for the identification and quality control of TCMs. Reaction systems and the visualization of the fingerprints can be improved in the future.

Abstract
Intermittent oscillations as a chaotic mixture of large amplitude relaxation oscillations, grouped in bursts and small-amplitude sinusoidal ones or even quiescent parts between them known as gaps, were found and examined in the Bray-Liebhafsky (BL) reaction performed in CSTR under controlled temperature variations. They were obtained in a narrow temperature range from 61.0 °C to 63.1 °C, where 61.0 °C is the critical temperature for burst emergence from the stable steady state and 63.1 °C is the critical temperature for gap emergence from regular oscillations. Since intermittencies appear gradually from the regular oscillatory state, and no hysteresis was obtained with decreasing/increasing temperature in the vicinity of these two bifurcations, a linear relationship between (τB/τ)(2) and (τG/τ)(2) (where τB, τG and τ denotes duration of bursts, gaps, and whole experiment, respectively), as a function of the temperature as the control parameter, was expected and obtained. Although these intermittent oscillations are chaotic with respect to the lengths of individual gaps as well as bursts, their deterministic behavior related to temperature was additionally established. Thus, the number of bursts or gaps per unit of time (NB/τ and NG/τ) has the form of a normal distribution function over the temperature range in the region where intermittencies are obtained. Temperature dependence of the Lyapunov exponents was also described by a function of the normal distribution form. Hence, we established some regularities in the chaotic behavior of intermittent oscillations that are common in life but difficult for determinations.

Abstract
By numerically simulating the Bray-Liebhafsky (BL) reaction (the hydrogen peroxide decomposition in the presence of hydrogen and iodate ions) in a continuously fed well stirred tank reactor (CSTR), we find "structured" types of chaos emerging in regular order with respect to flow rate as the control parameter. These chaotic "structures" appear between each two successive periodic states, and have forms and evolution resembling to the neighboring periodic dynamics. More precisely, in the transition from period-doubling route to chaos to the arising periodic mixture of different mixed-mode oscillations, we are able to recognize and qualitatively and quantitatively distinguish the sequence of "period-doubling" chaos and chaos consisted of mixed-mode oscillations (the "mixed-mode structured" chaos), both appearing in regular order between succeeding periodic states. Additionally, between these types of chaos, the chaos without such recognizable "structures" ("unstructured" chaos) is also distinguished. Furthermore, all transitions between two successive periodic states are realized through bifurcation of chaotic states. This scenario is a universal feature throughout the whole mixed-mode region, as well as throughout other mixed-mode regions obtained under different initial conditions.

Abstract
AbstractThis paper described the determination of p-nitroaniline in a double organic substrate oscillating system of tartrate-acetone-Mn2+-KBrO3-H2SO4. Under the optimum conditions, temperature was chosen as a control parameter to design the bifurcation point and proposed a convenient method for determination of p-nitroaniline. Results showed that the system consisting of 3.5 mL 0.06 mol L−1 tartrate, 4.0 mL 0.7 mol L−1 H2SO4, 1.5 mL 1.5×10−4 mol L−1 MnSO4, 4.0 mL 0.4 mol L−1 acetone and 7.0 mL 0.05 mol L−1 KBrO3 was very sensitive to the surrounding at 33.5°C. A good linear relationship between the potential difference and the negative logarithm concentration of p-nitroaniline was obtained to be in the range of 2.50×10−7∼3.75×10−5 mol L−1 with a lower detection limit of 2.50×10−8 mol L−1.

Determination of Alizarin Red S using a novel B-Z oscillation system catalyzed by a tetraazamacrocyclic complex. OPEN CHEM 2009. Abstract
AbstractA new and convenient method for the determination of Alizarin Red S by the perturbations caused by different amounts of Alizarin Red S on a novel B-Z oscillating system is proposed. This new type Belousov-Zhabotinskii involves a macrocyclic copper(II) complex [CuL](ClO4)2 as catalyst and malic acid as the substrate. The ligand L in the complex is 5,7,7,12,14,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradeca-4,11-diene. It is found that the relationship between the change in the oscillation amplitude and the logarithm of the Alizarin Red S concentration in the range of 1.5 × 10−7 to 1 × 10−3 M fits a polynomial model: ΔA = 659 + 184.2 log [Alizarin Red S]+ 12.9 log2 [Alizarin Red S]. The RSD obtained with ten samples is 4.4%. The probable mechanism involving the perturbation of Alizarin Red S on the oscillating chemical system is also discussed.
