Abstract
Local anesthetics, drugs that only affect a restricted area of the body, are widely used in daily clinical practice. Less studied but equally important is the distribution of local anesthetics inside organisms. Here, we present a rapid in situ testing method of drug distribution in various organs. The temporal and spatial distribution of anesthetics in mice was measured by solid-phase microextraction (SPME), thermal desorption (TD), and dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI) atmospheric pressure mass spectrometry. A coated SPME probe using a tungsten wire as the support covered with a carbonaceous material was prepared by a simple, low-cost flame method. An in-line structure of the inlet allows TD and DBDI to share the same capillary tube, which greatly improves the transmission efficiency. Nine kinds of anesthetics, such as lidocaine and dyclonine, were detected, and the limit of detection was determined to be as low as 13 pg/mL. In addition, the time-dependent distribution of drugs in mice organs was studied. We also found that macromolecules in organisms do not noticeably interfere with the detection. This method is convenient and efficient because it does not require tissue homogenates and allows direct in situ detection. Compared with the conventional analytical methods, this method is simple and rapid, works in situ, and allows microscale analysis of trace analytes in biological organisms with high sensitivity.

Abstract
In this study, a fiber-packed needle trap device (NTD) was developed by packing heat-resistant fibers with a polyethylene glycol sol-gel coating into a 21-gauge, stainless steel needle. The polyethylene glycol sol-gel coating has numerous advantages, including uniform roughness and a large specific surface area. The prepared NTD was used for headspace extraction of five polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in water samples, determined by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector (GC-FID). The main experimental parameters, including the extraction and desorption conditions, ionic strength, and fiber bundles, were investigated to improve the extraction efficiency. After optimization, satisfactory linearity (r > 0.99) in the concentration range of 0.02–500 μg/L was obtained, and the enrichment factor of NTD for the five PCBs was between 1150 and 9537 times. The limit of detection (S/N = 3) of five PCBs were measured in ranges of 0.0021–0.01 μg/L. Furthermore, the fiber-packed NTD has excellent durability, and can be reused for 60 cycles. After being stored at room temperature for three days, the storage ability of the NTD had a loss of PCBs less than 10%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 10%. When analyzing the PCBs in real water samples, good accuracies (spiked recoveries were in the range of 92.19–98.56%) and precision (the RSD was lower than 12.8%) was obtained.

Abstract
A covalent organic framework named N-COF was successfully constructed by the aldehyde-amine condensation reaction between 2,4,6-tris (4-formyl phenoxy)-1,3,5-triazine and 1,3-bis(4-aminophenyl) urea for the first time. The prepared N-COF exhibited good stability and high affinity to organochlorine pesticides (OCPs). Thus, the N-COF was served as solid phase microextraction fiber coating for extraction of six OCPs from vegetables and fruits including romaine lettuce, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, apple, pear and peach, followed by quantitation with gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Under the optimal conditions, good linearities for the OCPs existed in the ranges from 0.1 to 1.0 ng g-1 to 100.0 ng g-1 for the samples. The low limits of detection for analytes were obtained in the range of 0.03-0.3 ng g-1. The present work can offer new alternative for sensitive analysis of trace level of OCPs in vegetables and fruits.

Abstract
The development of carbon sorbents with high specific surface areas remains a hot research field in analytical community. In the current study, a novel three-dimensional hierarchical flower-like magnesium glycollate sphere was synthesized. Then, the obtained magnesium glycollate sphere was carbonized to obtain magnesia-carbon composite material with enhanced performance. The flower-like carbon material exhibited good adsorption capacity towards polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons due to the large surface area, the strong π-π interaction force and hydrophobic forces. The flower-like MgO&C material was used as a solid-phase microextraction fiber coating for the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in real river water samples. Good linearity (5-1000 ng L-1), satisfactory relatively recoveries (86.2-113.5%) and low limits of detections (0.01-0.20 ng L-1) were obtained under the optimized conditions.

Abstract
Encapsulating functional nanomaterials within the bulk of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offers the opportunity to construct high-performance hybrid coating materials for solid phase microextraction (SPME). In this work, we proposed the facile synthesis of a superhydrophobic MOF composite material (NSZIF-8Si) by growing ZIF-8 on MnxOy nanosheet (NS) and subsequently depositing short-chain polysiloxane on the surface of the composite. A novel SPME fiber was successfully prepared based on the NSZIF-8Si composite. The NSZIF-8Si fiber possessed outstanding thermal stability (up to 450 °C). In headspace SPME of BTEX, the home-made fiber exhibited extraction efficiencies much higher than the commercially available PDMS fiber. This phenomenon was due to the synergetic cooperation of the π-π stacking and the hydrophobic interactions between the NSZIF-8Si coating and the analyte molecules, as well as the increased aspect ratio of the MOF grown on the nanosheet. The established method achieved wide linearity (5-2000 ng L-1) and low LODs (0.02 ng L-1 to 0.21 ng L-1). Satisfactory recoveries were obtained in the analysis of real water samples collected from the Pearl River, indicative of the good reliability of the established method for real-scenario applications. This work might provide critical insights in constructing novel NS/MOF composite materials for the development of high-performance SPME fiber coatings.

Abstract
A simple and effective method based on magnetic separation has been developed for the extraction of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) from river water samples using magnetoliposomes as adsorbents. This method avoided the time-consuming column passing process of loading large volume samples in traditional SPE through the rapid isolation of magnetoliposomes with an adscititious magnet. Lipid bilayers formed on the surface of Fe3O4 showed great adsorptive tendency towards analytes through hydrophobic interactions, and zwitterions headgroups endowed the outer surface of magnetoliposomes with hydrophilicity to improve the dispersing property of adsorbents in the sample matrix. The target analytes were detected by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, and the limits of detection obtained are in the range of 0.04-0.35ngL-1. The relative standard deviations of intra- and inter-day are in the range of 2-5% and 4-7%, respectively. The proposed method was employed for analysis of six OCPs in the surface water samples from two cities along the Songhua River in different seasons. Compared with the traditional methods, the proposed method could reduce the consumption of the organic solvent and shorten the sample preparation time.

Abstract
A novel powdery polymer aerogel (PPA) with a hierarchical pore structure was prepared via hypercrosslinking of monodisperse poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) nanoparticles. Subsequently, the PPA was carbonized to obtain a powdery carbon aerogel (PCA) with a well-inherited pore structure and a much higher surface area (2354 m2 g-1). The PPA-coated and PCA-coated fibers were easily fabricated benefiting from the powdery morphologies of PPA and PCA, and demonstrated high extraction efficiencies towards hydrophobic analytes owing to their functional groups, unique three-dimensional (3D) porous nanonetworks and high surface areas.

Abstract
A series of knitting aromatic polymers (KAPs) were successfully synthesized using a simple one-step Friedel-Crafts alkylation of aromatic monomers and were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Then, as-synthesized KAPs with large surface areas, unique pore structures and high thermal stability were prepared as solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coatings that exhibited good extraction abilities for a series of benzene compounds (i.e., benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and m-xylene, which are referred to as BTEX) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Under the optimized conditions, the methodologies established for the determination of BTEX and PAHs using the KAPs-triPB and KAPs-B coatings, respectively, possessed wide linear ranges, low limits of detection (LODs, 0.10-1.13ngL(-1) for BTEX and 0.05-0.49ngL(-1) for PAHs) and good reproducibility. Finally, the proposed methods were successfully applied to the determination of BTEX and PAHs in environmental water samples, and satisfactory recoveries (93.6-124.2% for BTEX and 77.2-113.3% for PAHs) were achieved. This study provides a benchmark for exploiting novel microporous organic polymers (MOPs) for SPME applications.
