Abstract
Kaolin clay-supported Zinc oxide (ZnO/KC) and ZnO NPs nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by a chemical reduction process and used for the photodegradation of methyl red (MR) dye as a photocatalyst. Due to the interlayered porous structure of the KC, we achieved an extremely good association between ZnO NPs and KC. The product confirmation was conducted by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-Ray (EDX), and Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR). SEM showed the irregular morphology of ZnO NPs, while ZnO/KC NCs were predominately round-shaped. Moreover, in both cases, NPs were present in both dispersed as well as agglomerated forms with an average particle size below 100 nm. The results acquired from photodegradation analyses show that ZnO NPs and ZnO/KC NCs degraded about 90 and 99% of MR dye respectively, under UV light in a short irradiation time of 10 min. The recovered and re-recovered ZnO NPs and ZnO/KC NCs also considerably photodegraded MR dye in an aqueous medium. The same NPs also exhibit promising bioactivities against two pathogenic bacteria, i.e., Citrobacter and Providencia. The antioxidant activity of ZnO/KC NCs reached to reasonable 70% compared to the 88% activity of the standard ascorbic acid.

Abstract
GO/HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 materials were successfully fabricated using environmentally-friendly hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), poly(ethylene glycol) diglycidyl ether (PGDE), graphene oxide (GO) and magnetic Fe3O4. Systematic investigations were completed to explore the influences of GO content in GO/HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 and adsorption conditions on the adsorptions of cationic dyes (methylene blue (MB), crystal violet (CV)) and anionic dye acid blue 25 (AB-25). The increase of GO content can remarkably improve the adsorption capacity of GO/HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 for the dyes. The three kinetic, four isothermic and three thermodynamic models were investigated to reveal the adsorption behaviors of the dyes. The formation of HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 and adsorption mechanisms of the dyes by GO/HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 were suggested. The GO/HEC/PGDE/Fe3O4 endowed with easy-fabrication, eco-friendly feature, efficient adsorption capacity of anionic/cationic dyes, convenient separation and reusability has potential applications in wastewater purification industry.

Abstract
The emerging concepts of sustainable textiles and controlled production strategy demands ideally zero emissions of contaminants into the aquatic environment. However, the currently in-practiced conventional processes in textiles dispose of a number of contaminants especially super toxic synthetic dyes as effluents. In recent years, nanomaterials have become attractive choice for eco-friendly removal of organic dyestuff. Accordingly, this article reports synthesis and characterization of biocomposite wherein copolymer of polyaniline (PANI) and Polypyrrole (PPY) was grafted onto hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC). Further, adsorption properties of as-prepared composite were evaluated using textile dyes Rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl Orange (MO)- as model adsorbate. The characterization of novel biocomposite (HEC/PANI-PPy) was carried out using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analyzer (BET), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). The operational parameters such as dye initial concentration, adsorbent amount, pH and contact time were also studied to evaluate the efficiency level of the prepared biocomposite. Interestingly, the composite-mediated adsorption of RhB and MO followed pseudo-second order and the Langmuir isotherm. It is found that the adsorption capacity HEC/PANI-PPy is 30.06 and 29.3 for RhB and MO respectively. Thus, HEC/PANI-PPy is an inexpensive and highly efficient adsorbent that could be employed for could be employed for the separation and removal of toxic organic dyes from polluted textile effluents.

Abstract
Magnesium silicate nanosheets (MgSiNS) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) nanocomposites were produced by varying different weight percentages of g-C3N4. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized by various techniques such as X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), diffuse reflectance UV–vis spectroscopy (DR UV–vis), N2-physisorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photon spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the nanocomposites were measured using visible light irradiation to degrade methylene blue (MB) and Pb2+ adsorption in aqueous solution. The ideal physicochemical properties such as porosity, band gap energy, and functional groups in the MgSiNS-GN20 composite (80% MgSiNS and 20 wt % of g-C3N4) offered high Pb2+ adsorption (0.005 mol/g) and excellent MB degradation efficiency (approximately 93%) at pH 7 within 200 min compared to other composites. In addition, the influences of different reaction parameters such as the effect of pH, the load catalyst, and the concentration of MB and Pb+2 ions were examined. The obtained results indicate that inexpensive and eco-friendly MgSiNS and g-C3N4 composites could be recycled several times, hence representing a promising material to purify water from both organic and inorganic contaminants.
