Abstract
In this research, a new magnetic nanocomposite Fe3O4@Saponin/Cu(II) based on quillaja saponin was prepared and the catalyst structure was characterized thoroughly using FT-IR, EDS, TGA, XRD, VSM, HR-TEM, SEM, ICP, BET analyzes. The catalyst prepared in the three-component synthesis of several Betti bases, 1-(α-aminoalkyl)naphthols, under environmentally friendly conditions was used. The advantage of this reaction is the high efficiency of the products and the short reaction time. Furthermore, Fe3O4@Saponin/Cu(II) nano-catalyst is recoverable magnetically and is reusable for other processes with no reduction in its activity.

Abstract
Abstract:
The present work describes an efficient, green, and direct approach for the synthesis of amido alkyl naphthols via one-pot multicomponent solvent-free reaction (MCR) of substituted aromatic aldehydes, β-naphthols and urea by the use of easily available, non-toxic and cost-effective Lewis acid catalyst magnesium sulphate (MgSO4.7H2O). The important characteristics of this reaction are eco-friendly and mild reaction conditions, excellent yield of the products, shorter reaction time, economically cheaper and environmentally friendly catalyst MgSO4.7H2O. Also, clean reaction, non-column purification and operational simplicity are some of the additional significant features of this approach.

Abstract
Amidoalkyl-2-naphthol is one of the vital synthetic intermediates which occupy
an imperative position in medicinal chemistry due to its amazing biological, pharmacological
as well as industrial and synthetic applications. Owing to its diverse pharmaceutical
activities, hundreds of scientific literature are available, signifying the efficient synthesis
of this intermediate using various catalysts. Most of these literature methods suffer from
low yield and harsh reaction conditions that further ignited the researcher to explore for
another green catalyst and fresh methodologies. This review summarizes the last five
years progress in the catalytic synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols using various heterogenous,
homogenous and nanocatalysts along with their mechanism of action. Various
advantages like green synthesis, atom economy, clean reaction profile and catalyst recovery
are discussed which facilitate the scientist to probe and stimulate the study on this scaffold. In the end, the
catalysts and reactions condition are organized into the tables for swift at a glance understanding of different
catalysts used with their yield and time taken for the synthesis.

Darbandi H, Kiyani H. Adipic Acid as a Biodegradable Solid Acid Catalyst for One-Pot, Three Component Synthesis of 1-Amidoalkyl-2-naphthols. CURRENT ORGANOCATALYSIS 2019. Abstract
Background:
1-Amidoalkyl-2-naphthols are an attractive group of organic compounds
that can be converted to oxazine heterocycles and aminoalkyl naphthols. The derivatives of 1-
amidoalkyl-2-naphthols have significant biological activities and act as drug candidates.
Methods:
1-Amidoalkyl-2-naphthols were synthesized via the three-component condensation reaction
of 2-naphthol, acetamide/benzamide and various aldehydes in the presence of 10 mol% of adipic
acid as an organocatalyst under solvent-free conditions at 120°C.
Results:
A simple, efficient, and operative method for the synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphtholes in
the presence of adipic acid as the biodegradable catalyst is introduced. Easy operation, acceptable reaction
times, eco-friendly, availability of starting materials, simple separation of products, and high
yields of products are the significant results of this method.
Conclusion:
In this study, 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols were synthesized using commercially available
reactants in excellent yields and relatively shorter times. In this process, microwave or ultrasonic
waves were not used to provide energy for the reaction.

Abstract
This article provides an overview about specifically modified Mannich reactions where the process involves an ortho-quinone methide (o-QM) intermediate. The reactions are classified on the basis of the o-QM source followed by the reactant, e.g., the dienophile partner in cycloaddition reactions (C=C or C=N dienophiles) or by the formation of multicomponent Mannich adducts. Due to the important pharmacological activities of these reactive o-QM intermediates, special attention is paid to the biological activity of these compounds.
