Abstract
BACKGROUND Generalized lymphatic anomaly (GLA) is a rare congenital lymphatic malformation (LM) characterized by multiple infiltrating lymphangiomas in various tissues. Owing to its rarity, information on this disease is obtained mainly through case reports, leading to delayed diagnosis. In this study, we reported a case of generalized lymphatic anomaly in a pediatric patient manifesting as hemorrhagic pleural effusion. CASE PRESENTATION A 6-year-old female presented with abdominal pain, shortness of breath, chronic cough with yellow sputum production, and diminished respiration accompanied by pleural effusion. Imaging revealed significant left-sided pleural effusion with mediastinal involvement, left lung atelectasis, and multiple cystic lesions in both liver and spleen. Thoracoscopic exploration was conducted in response to her active intrathoracic bleeding, which identified a persistently hemorrhagic mass in the left mediastinum. The mass in the left mediastinum was removed, and pathological examination confirmed hyperplasia and expansion of the papillary endothelial cells within the lymphatic vessels. After intensive anti-infection therapy and symptomatic and supportive treatment, the patient's condition improved significantly. The regular outpatient follow-ups were continued until July 2024. Subsequent positron emission tomography (PET)CT at another hospital revealed multiple skeletal lesions in the limbs. Following treatment with sirolimus, no recurrence of pleural effusion was observed, and the patient's condition remained stable. CONCLUSION In patients with generalized lymphatic anomalies (GLAs), involvement of the thoracic cavity may lead to hemorrhagic pleural effusion, thereby broadening the landscape of GLA phenotypic presentations. Furthermore, this case highlights the importance of complete radiological evaluation of susceptible patients with GLA to avoid diagnostic delay in this morbid condition. We also review recently discovered genetic changes underlying lymphatic anomaly development and the progress of treatment.

Abstract
Generalized lymphangiomatosis (GLA) is a very rare condition in adults, characterized by diffused proliferation of lymphatic vessels that requires differential diagnosis from other vascular disorders such as cavernous or capillary hemangioma. This is because of overlapping characteristics on histopathological examination. Therefore, imaging features such as CT and MRI are useful to evaluate morphological characteristics, location, and the extent of the spread as well as differential diagnosis with other pathologies. We report a case of a 22-year-old female patient with left hemothorax after thoracoscopic sympathectomy for the treatment of hand sweating. The patient underwent drainage and cleaning of the left pleura. Chest computed tomography and lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple fat infiltration foci of the lumbar spine and pelvis. A wing bone biopsy of the pelvis was initially performed for the diagnosis of chronic osteomyelitis. Afterwards, the patient continued to have pleural drainage and developed hemothorax and chylothorax, amounting to 3000 mL. The chest tube was blocked with a mixture of biological glue and lipiodol (2 mL of glue, ratio of glue to lipiodol: 1:4) and a 3 i-ED coil complex. After the intervention, the pleural fluid decreased; the left pleural fluid was still 15 mm thick, and the amount of fluid drained after 1 week was 100 mL. Aspiration of the chest wall lesion showed fluid rich in fat droplets. Combined with the results of lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging and the old biopsy, this was consistent with generalized lymphangiomatosis.

Abstract
Lymphangiomas are benign lesions of vascular origin with lymphatic differentiation, most commonly found in the head and neck. Generalized lymphangiomatosis is a very rare condition in adults, which is characterized by a diffuse proliferation of lymphatic vessels. The lymphangioma is composed of lymphatic endothelium-lined cystic spaces. This condition can be histologically differentiated from other vascular disorders such as cavernous or capillary hemangioma. However, many cases of lymphangioma can be confused with other vascular disorders, because of overlapping histologic findings. radiologic examinations, such as CT scan and MR imaging, are useful for assessing the morphologic feature and also the extent of disease, it is important to know the radiologic findings of generalized lymphangiomatosis. In this paper, we report a case of generalized lymphangiomatosis in a 42-year-old male who presented with left flank pain and hematuria. The first differential diagnosis was renal colic; hence he underwent an abdominopelvic computed tomography scan (CT scan). In the performed CT scan multiple cystic lesions were seen in the liver and spleen. Also, lytic lesions were seen in bones. CT-guided biopsy was performed and the result was compatible with generalized lymphangiomatosis, confirmed by cytology. Generalized lymphangiomatosis is a rarely reported disease in children and young adults. Delayed diagnosis in older patients or misdiagnosis is common due to its rarity and nonspecific clinical presentation. Different imaging modalities can incidentally diagnose the disease in asymptomatic patients. So radiologists should be aware of the disease manifestations in imaging modalities to diagnose the disease sooner and help the clinician start the therapy if needed.

Abstract
Generalized lymphatic anomaly (GLA) is a congenital malformation of the lymphatic vessels that is often diagnosed in early childhood. Owing to the rarity and heterogeneity of its clinical course, GLA is frequently misdiagnosed, especially in adults. A 67-year-old man was incidentally found to have bone and pleural lesions. Multiple bone lesions detected on magnetic resonance images were mistaken for malignancy, and pathological evaluation led to the diagnosis of GLA. GLA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of multiple bone lesions, and a proactive biopsy to confirm the diagnosis may help avoid unnecessary invasive procedures.

Abstract
Visceral lymphangiomatosis may occur as a benign isolated entity or as a manifestation of a systemic disorder. Multifocal involvement is exceedingly rare, with gradations ranging from extreme involvement of an isolated organ to focal involvement of multiple viscera. This case report describes the contrast-enhanced computed tomography imaging appearances of visceral lymphangiomatosis of the spleen and adrenal gland in a 31-year-old man.

Abstract
Pathologic fractures commonly occur secondary to abnormal skeletal physiology in the context of benign or malignant lesions. Rarely, pathologic fractures may occur in the context of a lymphatic abnormality, such as generalized lymphangiomatosis. This rare disorder is characterized by variable presentations in a broad age range of patients. By understanding the effect of widespread lymphatic anomalies on various organ systems, clinicians will be able to make this diagnosis earlier and with more certainty.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Generalized lymphatic anomaly previously known as diffuse systemic lymphangiomatosis is a rare multisystem congenital disease arising from the lymphatic system, and it is characterized by abnormal proliferation of the lymphatic channels in osseous and extraosseous tissues. It typically affects children or young adults. Although it is benign, it can be misdiagnosed as malignancy because of its diffuse and debilitating nature depending on the site of involvement. Due to its rarity, diagnosis is often delayed, leading to potential significant morbidity or mortality if vital organs are involved. Furthermore, its potential for multiorgan involvement with no curative treatment makes its management challenging. CASE PRESENTATION We describe a case of a 35-year-old Caucasian female, who presented with epigastric pain and was subsequently extensively investigated at multiple tertiary centers by numerous specialists for query malignancy and metabolic bone disorder following incidental computed tomography imaging findings of multiple osteolytic lesions in the axial skeleton, and low-attenuating lesions in the axilla, spleen, and mediastinum. The diagnosis was confirmed with an axillary excisional biopsy. She was clinically stable with no end organ damage. She was monitored conservatively. CONCLUSIONS The case illustrates the importance of increased awareness among clinicians for this rare congenital disease to enable earlier diagnosis and to avoid unnecessary invasive investigations. Furthermore, this case highlights the potential need for multiple biopsies of affected sites to confirm diagnosis. We also discuss the emergence of interferon therapy, chemotherapy, immunosuppression, and immunotherapy as medical management for this condition.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lymphangiomatosis is a multisystem disorder that is rarely localized to the gastrointestinal tract. Lymphangiomatosis usually has no specific clinical presentation and is easily misdiagnosed. A case report and review of the literature on lymphangiomatosis associated with protein-losing enteropathy will help to improve the overall understanding of this disease.
CASE SUMMARY We report a case of lymphangiomatosis of the bowel and other solid organs. A 78-year-old man presented with recurrent bowel bleeding and protein-losing enteropathy, as well as cystic lesions in the spleen, liver, and kidney. Imaging examinations revealed many cystic lesions on the spleen, liver, kidney, and thickened wall of the ascending colon, as well as pleural effusion and ascites. Colonoscopy revealed a strawberry mucosa, variable spontaneous bleeding, and surface erosion located in the terminal ileum. Several cystic masses with a translucent and smooth surface as well as diffuse white spots were located in the colon. A laterally spreading tumor (LST) was located in the ascending colon. Pathology indicated highly differentiated adenocarcinoma (LST) and lymphangiomatoid dilation, and D2-40 was positive. The final diagnosis was lymphangiomatosis. The patient underwent surgery for LST and then was administered thalidomide 75-150 mg/d. His condition, however, did not improve. He eventually died 6 mo after the initial diagnosis.
CONCLUSION Lymphangiomatosis usually occurs diffusely and can involve many organs, such as the spleen, kidney, liver, lung, mesentery, and bowel. Recurrent bowel bleeding or protein-losing enteropathy is an important indicator that should alert clinicians about the possibility of this disease when it afflicts the bowel. Doctors should improve the medical understanding of lymphangiomatosis.

Abstract
RATIONAL Lymphangiomatosis is rare and benign, and slowly proliferating lymphatic vessels of unknown etiology and visceral lymphangiomatosis involving the spleen is rare. Since lymphangiomatosis may be asymptomatic or present as a sense of fullness, splenic cystic lymphangiomatosis is a disease of little concern. PATIENT CONCERNS A 34-year-old woman suffering from progressive epigastric fullness after oral intake for two weeks. DIAGNOSES Physical examination showed a palpable mass which was more than 10 cm in size over the left hypochondrium. An abdominal computed tomography disclosed marked splenomegaly with multiple cystic lesions in the spleen, causing external compression with right-sided deviation of the adjacent organs and varices in the upper abdomen. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed portal hypertensive gastropathy. INTERVENTIONS Conventional total splenectomy was performed in this patient because of an enlarged spleen and unknown etiology, preoperatively. Upon surgery, splenomegaly with polycystic content and varicose vessels over the omentum were noted. Autologous spleen transplantation was not performed because of limited orthotopic and vascularized spleen. OUTCOMES The patient is doing well 18 months after splenectomy. LESSONS This was a rare case presenting with splenic cystic lymphangiomatosis in association with omental varices and portal hypertension. Splenic cystic lymphangiomatosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with a palpable painless mass over the left hypochondrium.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Generalized cystic lymphangiomatosis is a particularly rare disease with variable involvement of skeletal and extraskeletal sites. The key role of imaging in the diagnosis of this disease is no longer in doubt. The aim of our study was to demonstrate the contribution of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) at the diagnostic stage and during the follow-up in the pediatric population. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Three children were included from 2008. The inclusion criteria were radiological images (conventional radiographs, computed tomography, and MRI) compatible with histological confirmation. Each child included received WB-MRI at the diagnosis stage and during follow-up. RESULTS WB-MRI detected multiple hypointense T1 and hyperintense T2-STIR cystic bony lesions. One unnoticed mass in the retroperitoneum on computed tomography was easily detected by MRI. Mediastinal involvement was observed in one asymptomatic case. Histology was contributory in all cases. Preventive intramedullary nailings was done in one case. Follow-up WB-MRI detected new asymptomatic lesions in all cases. One child presented a third episode of lymphangitis of the right thigh during follow-up. CONCLUSIONS Due to its high sensitivity to diagnose, ability to eliminate differential diagnoses and make exhaustive lesions assessment, and its non-radiating character for long-term follow-up, WB-MRI is highly recommended for generalized cystic lymphangiomatosis in the pediatric population.

Abstract
A two-year-old female poodle with abdominal distention was diagnosed with concurrent enteric duplication cyst and lymphangiomatosis. Both lesions were shown as cystic structures, but some characteristic features of enteric duplication cyst were identified including a thick cyst wall and shared blood supply with the duodenum. Although it was challenging to discriminate between the types of cyst based on diagnostic imaging, this report describes the characteristics of each type of lesion using several different imaging modalities.

Abstract
AIM: To analyze the clinical manifestations, imaging features, diagnosis and treatment of abdominal lymphangioma.
METHODS: Clinical data for 18 patients with abdominal lymphangioma who received treatment at our hospital from January 2008 to December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS: Most of the tumors had clear boundaries and were round, oval or lobulated. All patients with tumors ranging from 7 to 19 cm underwent operation. Pathological analysis showed that the tumor was composed of irregular and expanded lymphatic vessels. Postoperative recovery was good in all patients, and no recurrence occurred.
CONCLUSION: Abdominal lymphangioma is a rare clinical abdominal disease, whose diagnosis relies on preoperative comprehensive physical and imaging examinations. The prognosis for abdominal lymphangioma treated by surgery is good.
