Abstract
BACKGROUND The distinct and combined impacts of subjective well-being (SWB) and objective well-being (OWB) on cardiometabolic diseases and cardiometabolic multimorbidity remain largely unknown. METHODS 141,086 participants (mean age 56 years) were included from the UK Biobank study from 2006 to 2010. The SWB included happiness and life satisfaction. The OWB represents the level of satisfaction with objective conditions which was created using latent class analysis. Cardiometabolic diseases comprise diabetes and cardiovascular disease, including coronary heath disease and stroke. The Cox models were used to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95 % confidence intervals (95 % CI) of the individual and combined associations between SWB and OWB with the risk of cardiometabolic diseases. RESULTS During a median follow-up of 12 years (1,693,800 person-years), 16,678 new-onset cardiometabolic diseases were reported. In full-adjusted model, the HR (95 % CI) among men with high SWB was 0.93 (0.82-1.05), 0.85 (0.79-0.92) and 0.71 (0.57-0.87), for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cardiometabolic multimorbidity, compared to low SWB, respectively. Among women with high SWB, the HR (95 % CI) was 0.71 (0.62-0.81), 0.76 (0.69-0.83) and 0.55 (0.42-0.72) for diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cardiometabolic multimorbidity, respectively. Low OWB increases the cardiometabolic diseases risk by from 16 % to 103 %. Notably, high SWB was associated with lower cardiometabolic diseases risk among individuals with low OWB. LIMITATIONS Potential recall bias and residual confounding are the main limitations. CONCLUSIONS We found that both high SWB and OWB were significantly associated with a lower risk of cardiometabolic diseases, more evident among women. The association between SWB and cardiometabolic diseases was independent of OWB.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It is uncertain which lipid-related parameter is most suitable for predicting the risk of cardiometabolic disease (CMD) in individuals with hypertension. AIMS To explore which lipid-related parameter is most suitable for predicting the risk of CMD. METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 30,378 patients with hypertension who completed the 2006-2007 Kailuan health examination and followed up until December 31, 2021. In the constructed model, the utilities of lipid-related parameters for the prediction of CMD were compared using the C-index, NRI, and IDI. The best predictor (remnant cholesterol, RC) was identified and the participants were grouped according to RC quartile. Cox proportional hazard analysis was then used to evaluate the relationship between RC and the risk of CMD. During a median follow-up period of 14.7 years (IQR 5.3-15.1), 9502 (31.27 %) participants with hypertension developed CMD. The C-index, NRI, and IDI values for RC were higher than those for the other lipid parameters. After adjustment for multiple potential confounding factors, compared with the quartile (Q)1 RC group, the adjusted hazard ratios for CMD of the Q2-Q4 groups were 1.09 (1.03-1.16), 1.17 (1.11-1.24), and 1.25 (1.18-1.33) (P < 0.0001). Restrictive cubic spline analysis revealed dose-dependent relationships of lipid parameters with the risk of CMD. CONCLUSIONS RC is superior to other lipid parameters for the prediction of the risk of CMD in individuals with hypertension. As the concentration of RC increases, the risk of CMD in such individuals also increases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Overweight and obesity represent critical modifiable determinants in the prevention of cardiometabolic disease (CMD). However, the long-term impact of prior overweight/obesity on the risk of CMD in later life remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the association between longitudinal transition of body mass index (BMI) status and incident CMD. METHODS AND RESULTS This prospective cohort study included 57 493 CMD-free Chinese adults from the Kailuan Study. BMI change patterns were categorized according to the BMI measurements obtained during the 2006 and 2012 surveys. The primary end point was a composite of myocardial infarction, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Cox regression models were used to evaluate the associations of transitions in BMI with overall CMD events and subtypes, with covariates selected on the basis of the directed acyclic graph. During a median follow-up of 7.62 years, 8412 participants developed CMD. After considering potential confounders, weight gain pattern (hazard ratio [HR], 1.34 [95% CI, 1.23-1.46]), stable overweight/obesity (HR, 2.12 [95% CI, 2.00-2.24]), and past overweight/obesity (HR, 1.73 [95% CI, 1.59-1.89]) were associated with the incidence of CMD. Similar results were observed in cardiometabolic multimorbidity, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes. Additionally, triglyceride and systolic blood pressure explained 8.05% (95% CI, 5.87-10.22) and 12.10% (95% CI, 9.19-15.02) of the association between past overweight/obesity and incident CMD, respectively. CONCLUSIONS A history of overweight/obesity was associated with an increased risk of CMD, even in the absence of current BMI abnormalities. These findings emphasize the necessity for future public health guidelines to include preventive interventions for CMD in individuals with past overweight/obesity.

Abstract
The present study aimed to investigate the coincidence of obesity and nutritional intake in monozygotic twins compared to dizygotic twins. The data from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) from 2005 through 2014 were analyzed. Participants ≥ 20 years old were enrolled. The 1006 monozygotic twins and 238 dizygotic twins were analyzed for differences in self-reported nutritional intake, total body fat, and body mass index (BMI) using a linear regression model. The estimated values (EV) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) of the difference in dietary intake, total body fat, and BMI score were calculated. The monozygotic twin group and the dizygotic twin group showed similar differences in nutritional intake, DEXA fat, and BMI (all p > 0.05). The differences in nutritional intake of total calories and carbohydrates were lower in the monozygotic twin group than in the dizygotic twin group (all p < 0.05). The differences in total body fat were lower in monozygotic twins than in dizygotic twins (adjusted EV = 2427.86 g, 95% CI = 1777.19−3078.53 and adjusted EV = 1.90%, 95% CI = 1.33−2.46). Monozygotic twins had more similar dietary habits for total calories and carbohydrate intake. Other nutritional factors did not show differential similarity between monozygotic and dizygotic twins. Total body fat was more concordant in monozygotic twins.

Abstract
Background Although sleep disorders have been linked to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), the association between sleep characteristics and CVDs remains inconclusive. We aimed to examine the association of nighttime sleep duration, daytime napping, and sleep patterns with CVDs and explore whether genetic and early‐life environmental factors account for this association. Methods and Results In the Swedish Twin Registry, 12 268 CVD‐free twin individuals (mean age=70.3 years) at baseline were followed up to 18 years to detect incident CVDs. Sleep duration, napping, and sleep patterns (assessed by sleep duration, chronotype, insomnia, snoring, and daytime sleepiness) were self‐reported at baseline. CVDs were ascertained through the Swedish National Patient Registry and the Cause of Death Register. Data were analyzed using a Cox model. In the multiadjusted Cox model, compared with 7 to 9 hours/night, the hazard ratios (HRs) of CVDs were 1.14 (95% CI, 1.01–1.28) for <7 hours/night and 1.10 (95% CI, 1.00–1.21) for ≥10 hours/night, respectively. Compared with no napping, napping 1 to 30 minutes (HR, 1.11 [95% CI, 1.03–1.18]) and >30 minutes (HR, 1.23 [95% CI, 1.14–1.33]) were related to CVDs. Furthermore, a poor sleep pattern was associated with CVDs (HR, 1.22 [95% CI, 1.05–1.41]). The co‐twin matched control analyses showed similar results as the unmatched analyses, and there was no significant interaction between sleep characteristics and zygosity (P values >0.05). Conclusions Short or long sleep (<7 or ≥10 hours/night), napping, and poor sleep patterns are associated with an increased CVD risk. Genetic and early‐life environmental factors may not account for the sleep–CVD association.
