Abstract
Background Post-stroke depression (PSD) is a common complication of stroke and is associated with stroke prognosis. Rehabilitation plays an essential role in the comprehensive treatment of PSD. However, there are few bibliometric analyses of studies on PSD rehabilitation. This study aimed to comprehensively sort out the network of PSD rehabilitation through bibliometric analyses, analyze the research trends, focus on the hotspots related to PSD rehabilitation, and provide new research perspectives and guidance for future studies. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was searched for studies about depression rehabilitation after a stroke. The search covered the period from January 1, 2003, to October 31, 2024. We analyzed countries, institutions, journals, authors and keywords using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to create visualizations and perform a bibliometric analysis. Results A total of 2,227 papers were analyzed, with an increasing trend in the number of papers published each year. The United States had the highest number of published articles (458 publications), and Maastricht University and Utrecht University were the most published institutions (56 articles). Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is the journal with the most cited publications (5,913 citations). Johanna M. A. is the most prolific author (24 publications). Conclusion Using bibliometric methods, relevant studies on PSD rehabilitation were reviewed. The hotspots of future research on PSD rehabilitation will center on the brain plasticity mechanism of PSD rehabilitation, PSD assessment, and new techniques of PSD rehabilitation. This article provides systematic information to support and guide future research in this area.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Electroacupuncture (EA) is one of the non-pharmacological therapies in traditional Chinese medicine to treat urinary retention. The objective of this meta-analysis is to assess the efficacy of electroacupuncture in the treatment of urinary retention after stroke. METHODS Overall, seven electronic databases were searched until December 31, 2023, and randomized control trials about EA for urinary retention after stroke were reviewed. Two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias for included studies. The meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.4 and Stata/MP 17.0 software. RESULTS Eleven studies with a total of 856 participants were included in this meta-analysis. EA treatment yielded an improved reduction in the post-void residual (PVR) (mean difference [MD]: 37.85, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: 55.09 to -20.61 p < 0.0001) and the weight of diaper pads (MD: 38.87, 95 % CI: 42.68 to -335.06). Further analysis indicated that EA improved the effectiveness ratio (risk ratio [RR]: 1.36, 95 % CI: 1.20 to 1.53, p < 0.00001), the function of the bladder (MD: 0.45, 95 % CI: 0.61 to -0.30), and the quality of life (MD: 1.15, 95 %: CI: 2.10 to -0.20) in comparison to normal treatment and simple acupuncture. CONCLUSION EA may be an effective way and reasonable modality to incorporate into the multiple prevention and therapy for urinary retention after stroke. The wide application of EA could be associated with the improvement of bladder and life quality and decline in the PVR for patients after stroke with urinary retention.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) is an important window of opportunity for early intervention and rehabilitation in dementia. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and effect of delivering transcutaneous electrical acupuncture stimulation (TEAS) intervention to elders with aMCI. METHODS A total of 61 aMCI patients were randomly allocated into the intervention group (receiving a 12-week TEAS) and control group (receiving health education). The feasibility outcomes included recruitment rate, retention rate, adherence rate, and an exploration of patients' views and suggestions on the research. The effective outcomes included cognitive function, sleep quality, and life quality, which were measured by the Montreal cognitive assessment scale (MoCA), auditory verbal learning test-Huashan version (AVLT-H), Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), and quality of life short-term-12 (QoL SF-12). RESULTS The recruitment rate, retention rate, and adherence rate were 67.35%, 92.42%, and 85.29%, respectively. Most aspects of the research design and administration of the TEAS intervention were acceptable. The quantitative analysis suggests that compared with the control group, the scores of MoCA, AVLT-H, and SF-12 (mental component summary) were significantly better (p < 0.05); however, the differences were not statistically significant in PSQI and SF-12 (physical component summary) (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS The findings demonstrated that the study was feasible. TEAS awas possible for enhancing cognitive function and mental health in people with aMCI.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Post-stroke depression (PSD) is a prevalent and severe sequela of stroke. It is an emotional disorder that significantly impacts functional recovery, prognosis, secondary stroke risk, and mortality among stroke survivors. The incidence rate of PSD is 18 %∼33 %, with symptoms such as low mood, decreased interest, sleep disorders, decreased appetite, impaired attention, and in severe cases, hallucinations and even suicidal tendencies. While diverse therapeutic modalities are employed globally to address PSD, each approach carries its inherent advantages and limitations. Notably, acupuncture stands out as a promising and effective intervention for ameliorating PSD symptoms and enhancing stroke prognosis. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to scrutinize the current landscape, identify hotspots, and explore frontiers in acupuncture research for PSD. METHODS A systematic search for acupuncture and PSD-related research was conducted from January 2014 to October 2023 on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The data were downloaded and processed using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to generate knowledge visualization maps. RESULTS A total of 11,540 articles related to acupuncture and PSD were retrieved. China emerged as the leading contributor with the highest volume of articles on acupuncture and PSD. Author Liu CZ attained the highest H-index, focusing primarily on investigating the compatibility effects and mechanisms of acupoints. Common hotspot keywords included pain, stimulation, mechanisms, complementary, and alternative medicine. The main research frontiers were mechanisms, neuroinflammation, gut microbiota, and therapeutic methods. CONCLUSION This study offered multifaceted insights into acupuncture for PSD, unveiling pivotal areas, research hotspots, and emerging trends. The findings aimed to guide researchers in exploring novel research directions and selecting appropriate journals for advancing the understanding and treatment of PSD through acupuncture interventions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of poststroke depression (PSD) among patients with PSD and their family members. DESIGN Web-based cross-sectional study. SETTING This study was conducted in Heilongjiang Province between October 2022 and April 2023. PARTICIPANTS Patients with PSD and their family members. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES KAP scores. METHOD The self-administered questionnaire comprised demographic characteristics, knowledge dimension, attitude dimension and practice dimensions. RESULTS A total of 489 valid questionnaires were collected, with the average age of the subjects was 54.68±13.80 years, and including 258 (53.09%) patients who had a stroke. The mean scores for KAP were 6.36±2.66 (possible range: 0-10), 29.07±5.18 (possible range: 8-40) and 37.50±8.49 (possible range: 10-50), respectively. Concerning KAP scores, no differences were found between patients with PSD and their family members. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that retirement (OR=0.29, 95% CI 0.11 to 0.77, p=0.012) and monthly income less than ¥2000 (OR=0.46, 95% CI 0.27, 0.79, p=0.005) were independently associated with adequate knowledge. Knowledge (OR=2.12, 95% CI 1.44 to 3.14, p<0.001) was independently associated with positive attitude. Knowledge (OR=3.85, 95% CI 2.53 to 5.86, p<0.001) and attitude (OR=1.62, 95% CI 1.06 to 2.47, p=0.024) were independently associated with proactive practice. CONCLUSION Patients and their family members had insufficient knowledge, positive attitude and moderate practice towards PSD. Retirement and low monthly income were associated with insufficient knowledge, while knowledge was associated with positive attitude and proactive practice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in regulating mood, but the specific involvement of cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2R) in depression remains poorly understood. Similarly, the mechanisms by which electroacupuncture (EA) provides therapeutic benefits for depression are not clearly defined. This research aims to explore the function of CB2R in depression and examine if the therapeutic effects of EA are associated with the hippocampal CB2R system. METHODS Mice experiencing social defeat stress (SDS) were used to model depression and anxiety behaviors. We quantified hippocampal CB2R and N-arachidonoylethanolamide (AEA) levels. The efficacy of a CB2R agonist, JWH133, in mitigating SDS-induced behaviors was evaluated. Additionally, EA's impact on CB2R and AEA was assessed, along with the influence of CB2R antagonist AM630 on EA's antidepressant effects. RESULTS SDS led to depressive and anxiety-like behaviors, with corresponding decreases in hippocampal CB2R and AEA. Treatment with JWH133 ameliorated these behaviors. EA treatment resulted in increased CB2R and AEA levels, while AM630 blocked these antidepressant effects. LIMITATIONS The study mainly focused on the SDS model, which may not entirely reflect other depression models. Besides, further investigation is needed to understand the precise mechanisms by which CB2R and AEA contribute to EA's effects. CONCLUSIONS The study suggests hippocampal downregulation of CB2R and AEA contributes to depression. Upregulation of CB2R and AEA in response to EA suggests their involvement in EA's antidepressant effects. These findings provide insights into the role of the hippocampal CB2R system in depression and the potential mechanisms underlying EA's therapeutic effects.

Abstract
Background Ascending clinical evidence supports that electroacupuncture (EA) is effective in treating post-ischemic depression (PID), but little is known about how it works at the cellular level. Astrocytes are exquisitely sensitive to their extracellular environment, and under stressful conditions, they may experience aberrant structural remodeling that can potentially cause neuroplastic disturbances and contribute to subsequent changes in mood or behavior. Objectives This study aimed to investigate the effect of EA on behavioral deficits associated with PID in mice and verify the hypothesis that astrocytic morphology may be involved in this impact. Methods We established a PID animal model induced by transient bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAO, 20 min) and chronic restraint stress (CRS, 21 days). EA treatment (GV20 + ST36) was performed for 3 weeks, from Monday to Friday each week. Depressive- and anxiety-like behaviors and sociability were evaluated using SPT, FST, EPM, and SIT. Immunohistochemistry combined with Sholl and cell morphological analysis was utilized to assess the process morphology of GFAP+ astrocytes in mood-related regions. The potential relationship between morphological changes in astrocytes and behavioral output was detected by correlation analysis. Results Behavioral assays demonstrated that EA treatment induced an overall reduction in behavioral deficits, as measured by the behavioral Z-score. Sholl and morphological analyses revealed that EA prevented the decline in cell complexity of astrocytes in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and the CA1 region of the hippocampus, where astrocytes displayed evident deramification and atrophy of the branches. Eventually, the correlation analysis showed there was a relationship between behavioral emotionality and morphological changes. Conclusion Our findings imply that EA prevents both behavioral deficits and structural abnormalities in astrocytes in the PID model. The strong correlation between behavioral Z-scores and the observed morphological changes confirms the notion that the weakening of astrocytic processes may play a crucial role in depressive symptoms, and astrocytes could be a potential target of EA in the treatment of PID.
