Abstract
The chemical reaction of 4-bromo-benzoyl-chloride and 2-amino-thia-zole in the presence of potassium thio-cyanate yielded a white solid formulated as C15H10BrN3OS2, which consists of 4-bromo-benzamido and 2-benzo-thia-zolyl moieties connected by a thio-urea group. The 4-bromo-benzamido and 2-benzo-thia-zolyl moieties are in a trans conformtion (sometimes also called s-trans due to the single bond) with respect to the N-C bond. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the 4-bromo-phenyl and the 2-benzo-thia-zolyl units is 10.45 (11)°. The thio-urea moiety, -C-NH-C(=S) -NH- fragment forms a dihedral angle of 8.64 (12)° with the 4-bromo-phenyl ring and is almost coplanar with the 2-benzo-thia-zolyl moiety, with a dihedral angle of 1.94 (11)°. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of an S(6) ring. In the crystal, pairs of adjacent mol-ecules inter-act via inter-molecular hydrogen bonds of type C-H⋯N, C-H⋯S and N-H⋯S, resulting in mol-ecular layers parallel to the ac plane.

Abstract
A Cu(ii)-catalyzed, effective C-N coupling of 2-aminobenzothiazoles with boronic acids in acetonitrile under open vessel chemistry was achieved. This protocol demonstrates the N-arylation of 2-aminobenzothiazoles with a broad range of differently substituted phenylboronic acids at room temperature and accomplishes moderate to excellent yields of the desired products. Under the optimized condition, phenylboronic acids bearing halogen at the para and meta positions were found to be more fruitful.

Abstract
The (thio)urea and benzothiazole (BT) derivatives have been shown to have a broad spectrum of biological activities. These groups, when bonded, result in the 2-(thio)ureabenzothizoles (TBT and UBT), which could favor the physicochemical and biological properties. UBTs and TBTs are compounds of great importance in medicinal chemistry. For instance, Frentizole is a UBT derivative used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. The UBTs Bentaluron and Bethabenthiazuron are commercial fungicides used as wood preservatives and herbicides in winter corn crops. On these bases, we prepared this bibliography review, which covers chemical aspects of UBTs and TBTs as potential therapeutic agents as well as their studies on the mechanisms of a variety of pharmacological activities. This work covers synthetic methodologies from 1935 to nowadays, highlighting the most recent approaches to afford UBTs and TBTs with a variety of substituents as illustrated in 42 schemes and 13 figures and concluded with 187 references. In addition, this interesting review is designed on chemical reactions of 2-aminobenzothiazoles (2ABTs) with (thio)phosgenes, iso(thio)cyanates, 1,1′-(thio)carbonyldiimidazoles [(T)CDI]s, (thio)carbamoyl chlorides, and carbon disulfide. This topic will provide information of utility for medicinal chemists dedicated to the design and synthesis of this class of compounds to be tested with respect to their biological activities and be proposed as new pharmacophores.

Abstract
Following the discovery of nitric oxide (NO) and carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2 S) has been identified as the third gasotransmitter in humans. Increasing evidence have shown that H2 S is of preventive or therapeutic effects on diverse pathological complications. As a consequence, it is of great significance to develop suitable approaches of H2 S-based therapeutics for biomedical applications. H2 S-releasing agents (H2 S donors) play important roles in exploring and understanding the physiological functions of H2 S. More importantly, accumulating studies have validated the theranostic potential of H2 S donors in extensive repertoires of in vitro and in vivo disease models. Thus, it is imperative to summarize and update the literatures in this field. In this review, first, the background of H2 S on its chemical and biological aspects is concisely introduced. Second, the studies regarding the H2 S-releasing compounds are categorized and described, and accordingly, their H2 S-donating mechanisms, biological applications, and therapeutic values are also comprehensively delineated and discussed. Necessary comparisons between related H2 S donors are presented, and the drawbacks of many typical H2 S donors are analyzed and revealed. Finally, several critical challenges encountered in the development of multifunctional H2 S donors are discussed, and the direction of their future development as well as their biomedical applications is proposed. We expect that this review will reach extensive audiences across multiple disciplines and promote the innovation of H2 S biomedicine.

Abstract
The review is devoted to modern trends in the chemistry of 2-amino and 2-mercapto substituted benzothiazoles covering the literature since 2015. The reviewed heterocycles belong to biologically active and industrially demanded compounds. Newly developed synthesis methods can be divided into conventional multistep processes and one-pot, atom economy procedures, realized using green chemistry principles and simple reagents. The easy functionalization of the 2-NH2 and 2-SH groups and the benzene ring of the benzothiazole moiety allows considering them as highly reactive building blocks for organic and organoelement synthesis, including the synthesis of pharmacologically active heterocycles. The review provides a summary of findings, which may be useful for developing new drugs and materials and new synthetic approaches and patterns of reactivity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Potassium (K+) channels participate in many physiological processes, cardiac function, cell proliferation, neuronal signaling, muscle contractility, immune function, hormone secretion, osmotic pressure, changes in gene expression, and are involved in critical biological functions, and in a variety of diseases. Potassium channels represent a large family of tetrameric membrane proteins. Potassium channels activation reduces excitability, whereas channel inhibition increases excitability. OBJECTIVE Small molecule K+ channel activators and inhibitors interact with voltage-gated, inward rectifying, and two-pore tandem potassium channels. Due to their involvement in biological functions, and in a variety of diseases, small molecules as potassium channel modulators have received great scientific attention. METHODS In this review, we have compiled the literature, patents and patent applications (2011 to 2017) related to different chemical classes of potassium channel openers and blockers as therapeutic agents for the treatment of various diseases. Many different chemical classes of selective small molecule have emerged as potassium channel modulators over the past years. CONCLUSION This review discussed the current understanding of medicinal chemistry research in the field of potassium channel modulators to update the key advances in this field.

Abstract
A series of novel 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones bearing urea, thiourea, and sulfonylurea moieties were synthesized and pharmacologically evaluated as vasodilator agents. The most interesting vasodilators were the thiourea derivatives 6a and 6b and the urea derivatives 6f–6i and 7f–7h, although the ureas were relatively more active than thioureas. Twenty-fold more active than diazoxide, the urea 6g was the most potent vasodilator (EC50 = 0.983 ± 0.061 μmol/L) and proved to act as a voltage-gated calcium channel blocker. The lack of activity of sulfonylureas, 6k and 7j, could be attributed to their partial ionization at the physiological pH because of their acidic character. It should be interesting to investigate a larger number of compounds, including N-methylated sulfonylureas, to increase the vasodilator activity and to explore other biological models.

Abstract
Recent studies have demonstrated that inhibition of p38α MAP kinase could effectively inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α and interleukins. Thus, inhibition of this enzyme can prove greatly beneficial in the therapy of chronic inflammatory diseases. A new series of N-[3-(substituted-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)]-benzo[d]thiazol-2-amines (4a-n) were synthesized and subjected to in vitro evaluation for anti-inflammatory activity (BSA anti-denaturation assay) and p38α MAPK inhibition. Among the compounds selected for in vivo screening of anti-inflammatory activity (4b, 4c, 4f, 4g, 4j, 4m, and 4n), compound 4f was found to be the most active with an in vivo anti-inflammatory efficacy of 85.31% when compared to diclofenac sodium (83.68%). It was also found to have a low ulcerogenic risk and a protective effect on lipid peroxidation. The p38α MAP kinase inhibition of this compound (IC50 = 0.036 ± 0.12 μM) was also found to be superior to the standard SB203580 (IC50 = 0.043 ± 0.27 μM). Furthermore, the in silico binding mode of the compound on docking against p38α MAP kinase exemplified stronger interactions than those of SB203580.

Abstract
Agricultural wastes are some of the most emerging problems in food industries because of their disposal cost. However, it is also an opportunity for the bioeconomy society if new uses for these residual materials can be found. Eggshells, considered a hazardous waste by UE regulations, are discarded, amounting hundreds of thousands of tonnes worldwide. This egg processing waste is a valuable source material, which can be used in different fields such as fodder or fertilizer production. Additionally, this residue offers interesting characteristics to be used in other applications, like its employment as an environment-friendly catalyst. In the present review we provide a global view of eggshell waste uses as catalyst in different processes. According to reviewed researching works, a huge variety of added value products can be obtained by using this catalyst which emphasised the interest of further investigations in order to widen the possible uses of this cheap green catalyst.

Abstract
In this paper, we report the synthesis of 2-[(6-substituted benzo[d]thiazol-2-ylcarbamoyl)methyl]-1-(4-substituted phenyl)isothiourea derivatives (4a-y) carrying active pharmacophores essential for anticonvulsant activity. The anticonvulsant activity was evaluated in vivo by maximal electroshock (MES) test and subcutaneous pentylenetetrazole (scPTZ) test in mice. Most of the compounds showed promising anticonvulsant activity. The most active compounds 4b and 4q were found active in both MES and scPTZ models, without signs of neurotoxicity. Compound 4b showed the moderate change in SGOT and alkaline phosphatase level as compared to control. Compounds 4b and 4w were also found to elevate GABA levels in the olfactory lobe, mid brain, medulla oblongata and cerebellum regions of rat brain. In molecular docking study, the title compounds exhibited good binding properties with epilepsy molecular targets such as GABA-A. Structure-activity relationships are also elaborated along with the analysis of lipophilicity. The results suggested that compound 4b is likely to have varied mechanisms of action including voltage-gated ion channel inhibition and modulating GABAergic action.
